We had an absolutely wonderful time at Flat Creek Estate! The wine and hospitality are fantastic, and the restaurant serves up incredibly delicious food. It is such a beautiful, relaxing area to unwind. Breathing in the fresh air while enjoying the live show made for the perfect day out. Highly recommend visiting if you're looking for a great getaway!
I had driven by the signs pointing to Flat Creek a few times, up on 1431 but I had never stopped in. I figured Valentines might be a good day to give it a shot and we were not disappointed! We had a glass of delicious Super Texan and Four Horsemen in the pavilion, listening to the musician before heading into the Bistro for dinner. The facilities were beautiful, everyone was super friendly and really seemed to enjoy what they had going on there. We'll definitely be back!
Love love love this place. Wines are fantastic and service was great. The pickup party is really thought out.
We spent one afternoon doing a wine tasting and were so blown away by the beauty and service at this winery and the wonderful service by Jack and his knowledge of each wine that we came back the next evening. The second evening we came for dinner. The service by our server Bianca was the best and the food was absolutely amazing! This was clearly the best Italian I have ever had! From the Alfredo and Marinara to the Pesto. From the Panzanella to the Tiramisu and Bananas Foster. It was all an experience second to non…anywhere. And the wines are so so good! We had such a great experience and a memorable meal we will never forget. You all made our visit from Ohio so very special! Thank you!
Stopped by during Valentines Day weekend. The staff were friendly and very helpful. I made a reservation online and arrived a little early and they were able to seat us still. The wine was delicious and their charcuterie board really helped round out the flavors and enhance the tasting experience. The grounds are very beautiful and welcoming. They have an excellent out door patio area and even had live music!
How our little group wound up here on a beautiful Sunday is a simple story. Another planned trip fell through. So after a little research this is where we chose to go. And it was a great choice. A little bit more of a drive than we thought from San Antonio, but it was well worth it. This vineyard is gorgeous and we were greeted with smiles and accommodated very well until we left. When we were not happy being outside we were moved to a private area inside. The tastings we chose were presented to us and explained to us so that we knew what we were getting. Visiting this vineyard helped us salvage a Sunday that started out bad -- but ended on a very nice note.
First visit ever to a winery and this was an amazing experience. The grounds are beautiful, everyone was so welcoming, brunch was absolutely delicious and the mimosas were fantastic. The tasting room was lovely and I picked up a couple of bottles of wine to take home. I look forward to coming back soon.
The most dog friendly winery I've ever been to. While some wineries talk about their patio being dog friendly, Flat Creek let us bring our dog indoors into their tasting room while we boozed it up on their wines. The servers and sommeliers heaped praise on our little dog, and our dog loved it too. Oh, and the wine and scenery was amazing too. We loved how peaceful and relaxed their grounds were, and we loved how the staff was relaxed and easy to talk to without being pretentious. Without a doubt, though, we're coming back in the future simply because this place is so dog friendly.
We had the best time at Flat Creek Winery! Our group was accommodated by Randi, she did a fantastic job creating a space for us to enjoy our wine tasting. Our server, Bianca, was wonderful and thorough in explaining the details of each wine. The food paired so well, we will definitely be back!
This place has amazing views during the day. The food is amazing everytime we’ve been day or evening. They handle food allergies no problem. Our server Noe was very kind and gave us direction exploring the winery. Their butterfly garden was beautiful this time of year and even got to see quite a few during our visit. Definitely worth the drive out.
I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the exceptional service I received from Mackenzie at Flat Creek Winery. After my previous challenges with customer service, I was pleasantly surprised by Mackenzie’s attentiveness and willingness to address my concerns. She took the time to understand my issues regarding communication and subscription management, which really put my mind at ease. Her professionalism and dedication to resolving my situation have restored my faith in the winery's commitment to customer satisfaction. I truly appreciate the effort made to clarify the confusion surrounding my account, and as a result, I’ve decided to continue my wine membership. The quality of the wine is always a delight, but it’s the personal touch from team members like Mackenzie that truly enhances the experience. Thank you, Flat Creek Winery, for turning things around!
Our waiter Colton was incredible. So knowledgeable about the wines and vineyard history. So friendly. Super helpful. All his suggestions were great The food was amazing!!!! The ambience better than you can imagine. All the staff super friendly. Colton again. Was jd just terrific. We will definitely be back!
This place was absolutely fantastic!! Erica is the best wine enthusiast host we had! She explained everything very well. She is definitely one of a kind. Very prompt and fun. As far as the wine goes ……. 12 out 10 for sure can not go wrong with any of them . Whites were my favorite. Food , it all looked delicious . We tried the olive spread with bread and it was delicious. A++++++++ to this entire vineyard especially Erica being truely a wonderful host
Simply fantastic! Superb beyond expectations! Atmosphere, staff, just everything and everyone was amazing! Took my wife and children for Easter Saturday - obviously a busy time - we tried a tasting of several wines and enjoyed every one of them and the live music. At the Bistro restaurant, my wife and I had the Chef's 3 course meal and paired wine tasting that was out of this world ... beyond expectation. The owner even spent time with us and talked with the kids to make sure everyone was enjoying the experience. It was a special experience for everyone and really had fun...will definitely be back!
Can’t think of a single reason not to give this beautiful facility, property, staff, wine, food and entertainment 5 stars. A few friends and our pups decided to go for a hike on a cold December Day and when looking for places to hike around Lake Travis, we spotted this winery and decided to go there after the hike. And then we saw they have trails all around the property and vineyards, so we thought, why not just do it all there? We were so pleasantly surprised and impressed by this recently expanded and enhanced vineyard and winery. They even have an 18-basket Disc Golf Course! We decided to hike the course and take a self-guided tour of the vineyard. Great little 45-minute walk about and the dogs were ready to chill while we enjoyed a tasting on the patio at the Tasting Room before moving to the huge outdoor pavilion for dinner and some live music. I am sure we will be returning many times in the future. We can’t wait to see the vineyard in full bloom! This place would also make a fantastic wedding or private event venue. There’s a full service restaurant (Alero) there also (inside table service with a small patio overlooking the vineyard). We will definitely be coming back for dinner there. Thank you to Kate (front of house manager), Geri (Tasting Room hostess), and DJ Bartley (musician).
This winery is such a relaxing spot. The staff were friendly and accommodating, even though we arrived close to closing time. They have a great wine selection, and I really liked the interiors. The only thing I’d suggest is updating the playlist to better match the ambiance. Other than that, everything was great!
Flat Creek Estate Winery is one of the nicer winery we've had the opportunity to visit in the great state of Texas. It rivals even some of the well established Napa, Temecula or Paso Robles wineries in California. The winemaker claimed Flat Creek Estate to be the oldest winery in Texas, which is not true. That title belongs to Val Verde in Del Rio. The winery has an upscale bistro restaurant on site serving plates from half-chicken to pan pizza. In addition to the nice restaurant, there is a vast open outdoor picnic/seating area with a stage for live music and a smaller cozy outdoor wine tasting space just outside the main bar. We visited Flat Creek Estate while staying in Marble Falls, during their Annual Thanksgiving Festival with vendors on site and a Turkey Shuffle 5k taking place, so it definitely was busier than usual. The wine served is delicious and our favorite is definitely their Super Texan (a play on Super Tuscan).
Beautiful 80 acres worth of property, would love to come back! The restaurant has a nice ambience + view. We ordered the gazpacho, fruit + cheese board, watermelon panela salad, chicken and salmon entrees. Our waitress had recommended everything we ordered! The only disappointing thing about the food is that the mashed potatoes and chicken had minimal flavor. The Super Texan wine went great with everything we ordered. The tasting room is right next door and we had a lovely time with our sweet wine flight. Walking the property was breathtaking! I recommend driving or having transportation secured because we did Uber/ Lyft. We had no issues getting dropped off but no ride share was available for about 2 hours for pickup. Which apparently is common given the location of the winery. All the staff was so friendly and helpful with helping us secure a ride and we truly appreciated that :)
I had higher expectations for the food, but as other reviews mentioned it seems that the price point doesn't line up at all with the quality. We came during the brunch menu and ordered the spinach cheese dip to start with and I'm not sure what the standard for it is, but I'm truly baffled how both the chef and our server could look at it and decide it should ever leave the kitchen. What little cheese wasn't burned had been reduced to a congealed cottage cheese consistency. It's the first time I've ever sent a dish back. The chef(?) came out at some point after we sent it back and made small talk before going back inside, but never mentioned the dish to either explain or apologise. The server removed it from our ticket but didn't make any suggestions or effort to replace it. The rest of the meal was mediocre. We ordered a medium brick burger that came out well done, the crab Benedict was crab cakes that had very little flavour, the seasonal salad was an underwhelming plain spinach salad with a sprinkling of blueberries and strawberries and a dressing you don't need to write home about, the smoked brisket in the hash didn't taste smoked. Decided against dessert because I didn't want to see if it would match the rest of the experience. Overall I want to rate the food 1/5, maybe 2/5 because the staff are kind. The third star is for the beauty of the vineyard, the music and the quality of the wine. The Super Texas was a little too astringent for my tastes, but the rest of the wines are beautiful and definitely unique. I recommend people should go for the wine, the views and the live music, but eat before you go or stick to the pizzas.
I recently visited this establishment with a friend, eager to try something new. However, our experience was marred by several issues. Despite being interested solely in the wine tasting, we were instructed to wait for our server, resulting in an unacceptable 40-minute wait outside in extreme heat. When our server finally arrived, we were relieved but ultimately underwhelmed by the experience. The wine tasting itself was somewhat pleasant, but the prolonged delay and discomfort made it not worth the effort. Considering the numerous alternative attractions and activities in the Austin area, I would not recommend this venue to others.
