Three couples of friends enjoyed a wonderful evening at Pulcinella. Everything was excellent—the food, the atmosphere, and especially the service. We were delighted by great music and a truly special Christmas ambiance that made the night even more memorable. Jerome took great care of us; he was attentive, professional, and added to the overall experience. We truly enjoyed our time and will definitely be back. Highly recommended!
Excellent Experience Pulcinella in Massapequa delivered an outstanding meal. I ordered the Stuffed Veal Chop and the Tortellini Sofia, and both dishes were exceptional. The Stuffed Veal Chop was cooked perfectly, very tender, and full of flavor. The mushroom sauce added a rich and balanced finish. The Tortellini Sofia was equally impressive. The pasta was fresh, the sauce was smooth and flavorful, and the mix of mushrooms, peas, and pancetta made every bite enjoyable. Portions were generous, the presentation was beautiful, and the service was friendly and attentive. Pulcinella continues to be one of the best Italian restaurants in the area. I highly recommend it!
Been here multiple times. Always a great experience. Grilled seafood platter is the best appetizer ever.
The food was amazing, full of flavor! I loved the seafood salad with fennel. The service was spectacular, and the atmosphere was beautiful. And this time, I tried the Mezcalita with Xiamen mezcal that Antonio recommended to me- it was exceptional! Highly recommend.
“A dining experience truly worthy of Michelin Stars” Yesterday proved to be one of the finest dining experiences in quite some time. We were a party of three and started off with some stuffed figs and homemade sausage. The Stuffed Figs were cooked to perfection and served with a balsamic glaze; The home-made sausage was unlike any store bought sausage with incredible flavor. Then, we apparently visited Pulcinella’s when all the stars were in alignment as we were blessed with being served a side of home-made pasta with Cherry Tomatoes in a Christened Cheese Wheel that was outstanding. Our entrees included Braciole over Pappardelle Pasta that was truly reminiscent of those Sunday dinners after Mass. My wife ordered the Halibut with a light white wine garlic sauce with Radichio Risotto that was light and cooked to perfection. My entrée was the Short Ribs with homemade Rigatoni {similar to the size of Pacheri Pasta} with sauteed white onions in Brandy that made the flavor profile of this dish off the charts. For dessert we asked for the Chef’s choice sampler plate, and it didn’t disappoint. We were presented an assortment of fried cannoli’s, raspberry mousse cake, rainbow cheesecake and a trio of home-made Gelato’s. In closing, what made our experience so outstanding and memorable was the personal service and how Ruben, Antonio & Carlo greeted and interacted with us throughout our entire dining experience. We truly felt like family and enjoyed open conversation about menu items and what they suggested after hearing our preferences. Hats off and Bravo to Pulcinella’s of Massapequa. Thanks again for making our dining experience truly Michelin Star worthy!!!
Great Italian restaurant. The second you taste the sauce, you know everything will be just fine. Best gnocchi I've had at an Italian restaurant. Quick service, attentive wait staff. Definitely recommend giving them a try!
My family had a lovely experience yesterday at Pulcinella. Not only was the food incredible, but we had excellent service. The staff was a pleasure to be around. Aside from the food and staff being so wonderful, the interior is beautiful. We will be going back often!
Omg I was so craving pasta out of a cheese wheel. Found this gem online. Just what the Dr. ordered! Class casino was delicious. Pasta was perfectly al dente and so rich with flavor. Ended with homemade Tiramisu and my signature glass of milk. I'm so spoiled to live an arm's length to such a great restaurant!
Excellent restaurant as authentic as it gets on Long Island. The singer was fantastic.
Excellent atmosphere!! Fantastic food!!! We will definitely dine here again!!!
Great place for a gathering. Celebrated a communion
Absolutely amazing food and service. Beyond exceptional dining experience.
The portions are huge the food is delicious the service is great And the prices are pretty reasonable
Best restaurant on the island hands down. Go there and let Antonio take care of everything for you from what you're eating to drinking. They won't disappoint!
Great Service and outstanding food. One of the few places today that have close to 10 specials of the day!
I’ve eaten here many times and the food is always great. The specials are always delicious. The service is really good a great place to Service
Updated review Christmas 2021 This is one of my very favorite Italian restaurants and I am fortunate that it’s right in my backyard. This year, due to Covid, I decided to order from their catering menu instead of visiting the brick and mortar. Their food is always perfection and they did not disappoint. Food arrived (delivered) on time and piping hot as if served right out of the kitchen. I don’t know how they pulled that off! My guests were impressed and I was a very happy host. Just happened I visited back to back nights this past weekend. Crazy busy both nights...food was spectacular and service was impeccable. I wrote above review a while ago. Have been back many times since and still love the place! Very recently renovated to a more upscale atmosphere and bigger bar. I don’t know how they do it...the food is even better than it was last review!!
We recently had dinner at Pulcinella on the green, at the Rock Golf Club in Wading River. Everything was delicious & the presentation was very pretty . The menu & specials where extensive. The service was wonderful the atmosphere was very nice. Looking forward for them to get their liquor license, but BYOB for now was just fine. My only complaint is they should consider installing sound diffuser panels. The dinning room can become loud. Over all we look forward to returning for many more delicious meals with our family & friends.
Great food and service. We truly enjoyed ourselves. Prices might be considered high but they are worth it in my opinion, especially when you compare similarly priced offerings in the area.
I have been here several times and it never disappoints. The food is amazing, authentic, delicious and the zucchini flower bring me back to grandpa's. I cannot even explain how wonderful this restaurant is. It's like "home" because they treat you like family and the food is the BEST! Truly the very best!
My Date and I waited for a while for a table, due to my forgetting to reserve beforehand. The food was amazing, the ambiance was great, and the man singing was talented. All the ingredients for a Romantic Dinner with a lovely Lady. We enjoyed it and will definitely go again. This time, of course, I'll reserve the table.
Absolutely amazing food and atmosphere. My favorite place by far. They do things top notch from the bread and olive oil right down to the deserts. It’s extremely well run , professional and friendly and I swear they must have the worlds best cook back there in the kitchen. I could probably eat there every night of the week and never get tired of it. Please keep up the phenomenal work. Your hard work shows and is appreciated. Yum!
Eat here often. Had my mom's memorial dinner which sadly falls on Valentines Day but as always the food and service were above and beyond. They always treat me like family and I've been doing take out during pandemic and they do great and protecting the customer and themselves. I cant wait for the restaurant to re-open and sit down and enjoy a great meal with great staff and management.
Phenomenal - Food always terrific. Service always great. Great, authentic Italian food.
Attended a recent birthday celebration here recently. The food and service were outstanding. Will absolutely return to this restaurant again. The current rating for this place is too low and misleading. Should be in the high 4's, for sure. Great experience, highly recommend!!! 👍🏻
Have been to both locations and the food and service are exceptional! I prefer the Wading River location, for the restaurant is more spacious. Will be visiting again this week to celebrate a fruends birthday.
Great food, awesome service in a very nice place. There was a singer tonight who was pretty good. Jerimias was our waiter, he was incredibly attentive and handled all of our special requests with no problems.
The food was delicious and tasted fresh. My new go to spot for good Italian cuisine.
Pulcinella in Massapequa is totally authentic Italian dining at its finest! The branzino, served table-side, was like butter—delicate and perfectly prepared. The warm figs with goat cheese were exquisite, the burrata with paper-thin tomatoes and shrimp was fresh and refined, and the pistachio gelato was the perfect sweet finish. The owner was on site, and the staff’s impeccable attention to detail made the evening truly special. A five-star, authentic Italian experience not to be missed!
Nice place to eat ! Great food, nice staff. You will enjoy ! Call for reservations.
We stopped in as part of a group for an event. The ambience of the place is great. It has a real Italian feel with lots of brick and warm lighting. The staff was excellent and attentive during the entire evening. The appetizers were delicious. The highlight was the pasta appetizer. The pasta was fresh and the sauce was excellent. The only reason I have it a 4 was that they entrees weren't as good. I had the Sole and my wife had Veal Marsala. Neither lived up to the appetizers. That being said, they were preparing a lot of them so I wouldn't hesitate to go back and go as just a single diner to try other things.
Very good meal. I had the Bronzino, which was nicely served and prepared. Fresh and very tender. My friend had the lamb chops, which were very good as well. We had a sample player of antipasta cold cuts, peppers, olives, and cheese. Very good. We tried their version of canolli, three small ones to a serving. It was not the usual crisp shell. Instead, it was more like an elongated donut slit down the middle and filled with creame. It was tasty, but not what I preferred. Great service here.
Decent place for dinner and atmosphere was nice with live singer. Can’t say anything was spectacular but all our meals were tasty😎😎
Really good food. Excellent service and amazing entertainment. Great date night
Had a group of 10 adults for an early supper. Food was good, service was very attentive. It was a bit more expensive than I was expecting.
Excruciatingly slow service. Waiters just couldn’t be bothered. 10+ minutes to get menu. Never checked on drinks waiting for order. 10+ minutes after plates were off table to offer desert, 10+ minutes to take check. Specials $20 over priced. Nothing was bad, just not worth the tab
First time here , the staff was friendly and helpful. The food was good . Very expensive. Italian food is simple with simple ingredients hard to justify price
Food was very good. Absolutely no complaints there. I had a major issue with how they do business though. When some of our table of ten wanted to order appetizers, the waiter suggested an appetizer assortment for the table. We said ok and when the appetizer tray came out it had a ridiculous amount of food on it. I thought we were probably going to pay $70-$125 for it. When the bill came, we found out that the appetizer assortment cost us $275. We paid the bill and left. You do not offer a $275 appetizer and not let us know the ridiculous price beforehand. That is just bad business. I have a feeling every time the waiters got someone to order an appetizer assortment, they rang a bell in the kitchen and cheered. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone without warning them first. After posting this review, my friend pointed out a very similar review from another customer on Yelp from a year ago. Seems like standard operating procedure for this place. Too bad we let them get away with it.
I've been going there for years , and food is consistently good and attentive service. However, the last 3 times we have been there, Vibe at the restaurant has changed not the same , no more live music and out of line charges. Feel taken advantage of. $24 up charge for a side of pasta with garlic and oil is too high when the dish is $ 46 and not being served with the side it came with. Another time, I was surprised at the cost of the special and a platter of appetizers for the table , which would have been less if ordered separately. This was our go to place, disappointed.
Reservations for 7pm and seated 7:45. Ok. Octopus app good but then went downhill after. 2 of 3 meals were tasteless and just not really enjoyable. Waiter asked if wanted to take to go bags and we said no thank you. We literally took 1 bite of each plate!!! Nevertheless no to go bags and no manager to ask what was wrong with the meal. Will not go back
First and absolute last time for this place. Went for Valentine’s Day. Checked out their menu prior and felt there was a good selection. Once we arrived there was an abbreviated menu which isn’t unusual for an occasion however the prices were substantially increased. What restaurant price gouges for an occasion?? How is that ethical. Portions were not typical of an Italian restaurant. Undersized and underwhelming at best. Two entrees, a salad, and one glass of of wine for $150 Plenty of other Italian restaurants out there. Stay away from this one
My first time ever leaving a review. We came here weekly for years, so often my friends gifted me a gift card for my birthday a few years ago. We always tipped the staff generously & had gotten to know some of them personally. One night my wife, her friend and myself sat for dinner at the bar. We drank/ate plenty and when it came time to pay I put down the $200 gift card to cover a majority of the bill, which they seemingly did not like. We were immediately told to get up from our seats & the blonde bartender told my wife and her friend they were not even able to finish there drinks. I have never felt so disrespected in my life, the blonde bartender was so rude & after being loyal customers we have not and will never return. Your money is much better spent & appreciated locally at bacaro & umbertos.
Food is absolutely terrible and overpriced. The baked clams tasted like they were reheated about three times. Dry, tasted like a burnt pan left in the sun for a few days. I ordered the veal parmigiana, which looked suspect upon arrival. Barely any cheese and breading looked soggy. When I cut into this thing i was in utter disbelief. There was a microfilm of veal with more breading than I thought possible to get onto such a pathetic piece of meat. The waiter was cordial and offered a piece of grilled veal which was not very tasty either. My parents both ordered the halibut which was dry and also flavorless. Whoever is running this place seriously needs to take a look in the kitchen. Has a lot of potential, but miss the mark by a long shot.
We were put at a table that wobbled. They tried to fix but still wobbled. I ordered a scallop special over risotto that looked like slop on a plate. Scallops not cooked enough. For $55 I expected much better. My husband ordered a veal dish. Veal was thick and tough if it was even veal? Then there was some cheesy singer there that was awful.
I recently dined here and unfortunately, it was a truly disappointing experience. They totally took advantage of our group of 8 people. The waiter offered to make us a platter of appetizers and we happily agreed. Never in a million years did we think we would be charged $375 for appetizers!! The prices were exorbitant for the food we received. We couldn't help but feel taken advantage of and misled by their pricing. I tried to reach out to the owner and was told we got a great deal! Owner is shady and obviously ok with taking advantage of people. BEWARE
So this was the first time at this Restaurant and I gotta say that I wasn't very impressed. I'm actually very disappointed. To start off with the Seating was horrible. Everyone is Right on top of each other and Not much room to conversate with the person your with without everyone else around u knowing the conversation. Secondly, The Soda was Flat as a board. My wife and I ordered the rice balls for appetizers which was decent. I Ordered the Steak because it was a special. The steak was pretty good although for $90.00 u only get one side. Which for the price should of easily been two sides. The side I got was mashed potatoes And they were Bland and Flavorless. Total Disappointment in all honesty. Some people Rant about how good this place is and I totally disagree. I'm not the only one who isn't a fan since the place only gets 3 stars on Yelp. I don't know if I'd go back here. The way I'm feeling now, Probably not.
My husband, sister in Law & I came here on a Sunday for what we had hoped would be a nice dinner. We arrived around 5:30 and were excited for a delicious dining experience. When we arrived, we noticed that the majority of tables and seats at the bar were open, indicating to us that we shouldn’t have a problem getting seated. After waiting for what was at least 10 mins at the vacant hostess station (a little strange when the restaurant was empty) we were ‘greeted’ by a portly bald man who, I will unfortunately assume was the owner. I use the term ‘greeted’ loosely, he took one look at my husband and asked “can I help you?” We we’re waiting for quite a while, obviously looking to be seated, not waiting for a bus. When my husband asked for a table for 3, he very curtly responded, “can’t help you”. I wouldn’t even begin to justify his reasoning for this as the restaurant was empty, clearly several available tables and spots at the bar. But as a business owner, and someone who goes out and spends a good deal of money on nice dinners several times a week, I can tell you this man was simply rude and off-putting, clearly doesn’t know the first thing about customer service. If they weren’t able to seat us, he could’ve offered us to wait or sit at the empty bar. I was honestly embarrassed for this man, and will tell my family and friends of my unfortunate experience here. Service is everything in the restaurant business, and we will never return.
Never again! Made the mistake of ordering chicken cutlet parm and what a debacle. Chef overcooked thin breaded cutlets, the kind of thin cutlet used in a grilled chicken salad. There was no marinara sauce, just mozzarella cheese. The chicken was totally dried out and there was no choice of a salad or side dish of pasta like most restaurants offer. I paid led the bill with a 22% tip because the service was excellent. Working in restaurants I’ve learned to never send anything back. If they can’t get something so simple right the first time it’s not going to happen. Terrible!
Went for New Years Eve dinner. We were told the food is good and it’s expensive there. I looked at the menu on line and a bit more $ than some not a problem….. We were given a modified menu and the prices went up 10 to 18 dollars for each item on the menu. For example I had Ceasar salad was 10.on the online menu, (not Takeout) it was 20. last night. Not even shaved cheese on it. The Veal Sinatra is 30.00 in the online menu and was 48.00 ! How’s that for price gouging? I always prefer to write nice reviews, but won’t be going back! We’ve gone to the best restaurants every where and had never run into higher prices because it’s New Years Eve. I’ve made a good living on tips, and the wait staff got better tips and they certainly deserved it for working so hard last night. I just can’t justify what the owner did to his guest
Way overpriced for what you get. Food was just OK and they don't tell you the prices of the "specials", on purpose, I believe. The menu actually has 2 price columns for each item. Calamari was listed at $19 or $19.76 credit! They add a 4% surcharge for credit cards, which is unacceptable for a restaurant with such high prices. Our check was $190 per couple (cash), 1 drink each. They will not be seeing our group again.
