Good-N-Crisp Chicken

Love their chicken tenders. We had one issue the manager was amazing and helped resolve the issue. Rose went above and beyond to make it right.

Awesome chicken tenders! Don't let the unassuming outside scare you away. We got a few tenders for our picky 8 year old and we all ended up falling in love with them! We went back the next day for a family pack of 17 tenders and got at least 20 pieces in the box. The okra was crispy and delicious. The biscuits were surprisingly soft & buttery. I'm sure the regular chicken is probably good too. We discovered that it is actually a Corpus Christi area chain. Hopefully they are all as good as this one!! On our second trip to the area also required a stop here. Chicken and french fries were still on point. Macaroni and cheese is sadly not recommended at all. Very bland and grainy. Tried a couple of pieces of regular fried chicken and they were also pretty good. Prices went up since our first stop in October 2023.

FYI: There is a 4% additional charge for credit cards. Several lunch specials. For less than $10 I got the chicken tenders, fries, and a drink. Very tasty. Few indoor tables in a cozy space. RVs park on the main road.

The people here are wonderful human beings. On my trip to this restaurant, a dog was waiting by the drive through. They explained that they feed the dogs that come to visit them who maybe hungry. If I could give this place more stars i would. Food was amazing!!! Wonderful experience.

The chicken strip was really good, but the fries were a bit warm, definitely not fresh or hot.

I went through the drive-thru and ordered chicken strips. My order was fulfilled quickly and correctly. Chicken tenders were delicious along with the gravy and biscuit. Would recommend for a quick and easy remedy for a hunger attack.

Stopped here before heading back home to Three Rivers and Man it was all delicious!! Highly recommend this place for some good crispy chicken tenders! Everything was good👍🏼

Had to choose between this place and Church's chicken. Decided to roll the dice and try something new. Not disappointed at all. Ordered a 4 piece tender meal and a 3 piece mixed chicken meal. It was well served, hot and tasted great. Good customer service

The food is ok, it’s good bust isn’t great. What really did it for me was the price. I got a 7 tender Meal, and a 4 tender meal I was charged $26.06!!!!! Just for 2 meals. That’s so ridiculous. I know everything is going up right now but thats just insane.

Used to have the best fried chicken I've ever had, but they've gone down hill in the last 6 months or so. Hopefully their quality will go back up when covid settles down.

Great when it's served hot and they usually do... However, it does not give the great tasting droid justice with the trashy look by having posters covering all the windows and even at the drive through. Horrible!!!

1st time the food sucked was today. Cold fries and chicken wasn't very crispy and or hot. Also tasted over cooked. Not good at all..... *************************** Been here several times with same results. ------------------------------- Awesome place and deliciously fresh all the time. The fries are good but the tenders don’t really have any seasoning. Mostly taste like a texture. But that’s my opinion. The service is quick and the drinks are good especially the pink lemonade.

Cooked in burnt dirty oil. The chicken was overcooked or old??The sides are good though and the lady at the window was very nice. My dogs will be eating well tonight.

Horrible just horrible not worth the money at all fish sandwich was all bread and a tiny i mean tiny piece of fish chicken sandwich was alful another tiny piece of chicken in it this place has gone down hill so bad they used to be a great place but now it is just sad and horibble. Shouls have just went to Mc Donalds to eat would have paid less and got full

I used to be a Big Fan they out did the one in Corpus. I moved away and today i came through checking on my property in San Pat which was a kind of disaster so I hoped I’d get my Good Battered Livers but not! There’s very little batter and pretty dry needless to say I won’t go back now. Must be new cooks,owners I know it’s been a few years but couldn’t believe my disappointment they should’ve kept same recipe there was no real taste and u can’t blame it on the Covid. Sorry I want make the extra miles to stop!

I just spent $35 dollars here and they did not have the decency to put a couple of forks or spoons? At least ask. They are always so quick to point out you didn't ask for them, but those are the types of things that keep customers coming. I should have stuck to Butter's or Church's.

This here place uses old grease. The manager, an older white feller, was too damn stingy to give 1 ketchup per each chicken piece. Didn't seem to phase him when I told him I'd never buy fried chicken from him again. This here place reminded me of a vacuum cleaner, it sucks. I had to have something to cover up the foul tasting fowl they were serving. But, I , did see Ol 'Ron , the chief bronc buster and ladies heartbreaker at West's Horse Ranch and Museum of Country Living. Made my day uh seein him. Still ain't gonna eat chicken from this third rate greasy spoon.

People, Good-N-Crisp in Mathis charges a 4% cover charge when you use your bank Debit card. According to the Manager/Owner Eddie Salinas he started charging for the use of debit cards around 6 months prior to September 23, 2020. This clearly marks the time around the start of the COVID-19 Pandmic. It is against Texas laws for Vendors to charge a Ser Charge on bank cards. I called and checked with every GOOD-N-CRISP and other fast food vendors, within a 60 mile radius North, South, East and West of Mathis and found that NO other Vendors penalize you for using your bank card at their place of business. I also checked with 12 major banks that claim they DO NOT charge a processing fee to GOOD-N-CRISP in Mathis or any other Vendor. I have filed a Consumer Protection Complaint with the Texas Attorney General against this business and suggest you do the same, if it has happened to you. A 4 percent charge does not amount to very much but it's the way it's done. They don't mention it to you when they give you the purchase total and they don't break it down on your receipt as required by Texas law when charging a Ser Charge on a Credit Card. In this case they just sneak it in and hope you don't notice. Texas does not allow scalping during a crisis under any circumstance.

The food is over all good. On this night the service was horrible. The lady that took our order was very rude. It was about 9:40 p.m. when we called in our order and were trying to decide on our sides. She said "..hurry up and tell me what yall want..." and finished with "...do you want the chicken or not?" I have never experienced such unprofessionalism and it disgusts me. Not only did she upset my wife by being nasty over the phone...she ruined the meal experience. She was unapologetic and this bothers me. I'd rather spend $50 elsewhere than deal with people who are dissatisfied with their job. I will not go back to this location again and will spread the word on my experience. This was a disgusting display of rudeness on a whole new level. That being said...we will stick with Churchs or drive to Sinton or Taft...where they treat you as a customer and not a burden.

Food is okay, but Manager was terrible!!!! Called up there after getting home and part of my order was missing. I wasnt upset about it just wanted to let them know and see if they would just add it to my next order so I didnt have to drive all the way back to town. The manager kept telling me not to be rude and I was nothing of the sort. I dont know how saying right after he spells out your name is rude, but I can promise you by the end of the call I was hotter than the chicken. Will be finding out who is over him because that was rediculous. They may have just lost my business!

What they used to say was a charge for using bank cards, the old man owner who yelled at me hahaha, bitter jerk, and the kid who already had my card told me he didn't know why in the past everytime I bought the same item the price was different. I found out long ago the owner, presumably the bitter angry old man, was illegally using covid as an excuse to upcharge ppl paying with a card. No other location does this. The kid in glasses told me the prices went up since I'd last been a year ago (awful experience) and I said yes, that's why I took a picture of the menu. After he has my card he tells me there's that same upcharge regardless, due to covid, even though the prices like doubled already bc of "covid". The old man starts screaming like a maniac and I remember what I'd read about them and the owner. Hopefully this place gets shut down immediately. Who screams at customers for not seeing vague signs that were covered at the window? Lol NEVER again. A 7 piece tender meal is not worth 20 bucks. I'll be reporting them as well. The kid in glasses also tried saying every taqueria does this, but I see menus and prices and the tax is and always has been normal. This place makes their food disgustingly oily and greasy anyway. Good riddance, I'll spread the word as well.

The smell was intense!!! This is the last time they get my service as it isn’t the first time I’ve complained before and owner said he would make our order right or replace for FREE the next time and when we do go he acts dumb as if he doesn’t owe us! Taking my business elsewhere
