Meat Market Grill

Was out for a visit and we decided to stop by for a bite to eat. The food was excellent and the service was good, although we did have to ask for refills on your drinks. The atmosphere was good, and was interesting to see the old meat "locker" that you can actually dine in

We order chicken strips with fries for the kids. Fettuccine Alfredo and clam chowder. The clam chowder was a decent size cup. It was all amazing. It was take out and they gave us good plastic cutlery. Very well packaged. I’ll order from them again. Next time I hope to dine in. Wished I took pictures but it was too good to take pics.

This place is amazing! We had no idea what a gem we have been missing out on. We live in Mount Shasta and had never been here ...big mistake! The food is amazing, the staff is knowledgeable, friendly and funny! Highly recommend this place, great date night. The chef Eric came out and made sure everything was good and it was beyond expectations.

The owner Justin highlighted our experience. He did very well tending to us and our custom needs. Highly recommend THIS location. Very nice people. Nice atmosphere. Worth your time and your dime.

We had a lovely time celebrating my husband's birthday tonight. We started with martini's & the cheese plate, then we had salads with our entrees. I had the stuffed pork chop & hubby had the rib eye steak. Both meals were prepared expertly and plated nicely. We enjoyed the wine recomendation our server made. The service was friendly and attentive. It was definitely a 5 star effort. We will go back again.

I’ve been living in McCloud almost whole year. And I love it up here. On tonight’s Meat Market & Tavern (inside the McCloud River Mercantile Hotel on Main Street) menu (one of my favorites) special was the Cajun Chicken Fettuccini... it was the best one I had ever ate. I love living in this historic lumber town. I highly recommend this place for anyone who loves food for all ages. Outstanding service.

We really enjoyed our meal here. I had their chicken sandwich, I would highly recommend it, we also had a potato leek soup, Mac and cheese, tacos, and shrimp. Everyone enjoyed their meals. On top of that it has a great setting in a great town.

We stopped in McCloud to camp for the night, wanted a good meal out. This place exceeded our expectations! Beef Stroganoff special was awesome with a rich beef gravy. I had the Chicken Picatta, good or better than my own. These people know how to cook and deliver excellent service. Check it out, beer and wine selection too. Go hungry!

Best restaurant north of Sacramento!

Their buttermilk fried chicken is amazing. I've eaten this dish all over the country and theirs stands up to places like Asheville or Savannah. Really cozy with great staff

This restaurany has such a great vibe to it. It's really old times and the bar is especially amazing. I regret not taking a photo of it. It's a rather small place but still cozy and there was live music. Excellent service and the food was delicious. Get the Mac and cheese, you won't regret it.

Had dinner here twice on a recent trip to McCloud with my wife. The food was perfect. Moist pork chops, succulent shrimp scampi, spectacular salmon and an amazing ribeye. Don’t skip the tavern fries - melty Gouda, smoky bacon and garlic. Service was impeccable. On our first visit the chef came over and chatted with us and then brought us a sample of the next day’s special!

Old fashioned small town love and hospitality! After travelling for 18 hours I arrived late at night hungry and looking for a meal. The kitchen was closed but because they didn’t want me to go to bed with an empty stomach they reopened the kitchen and fed me off menu, the best short rib tacos and home made banana cream pie I’ve ever had. The staff welcomed me and stayed around chatting about what’s important in life and what they were up to. I forgot how much I missed this kind of experience. People that genuinely care. Sadly, it’s rare these days. And to top it off the register was closed so the owner said enjoy a meal on me. The world needs more of this! Thank you for a remarkable night 🙏

The food is exceptional, prepared by a wonderful chef. The restaurant itself is part of a Mercantile building, which was built in 1898. The restaurant and bar were built into what was formerly where the employees of this lumber company town bought all their meat. It’s very charming. You won’t be disappointed.

We went down the street first...and left after 2 minutes, walked down to the meat market and received a warm and welcoming greeting by Justin. The food was very good and the service was beyond appreciated. Justin and his grandmother made us feel like family. He even pulled up a chair whipped out his guitar and wow!!! What a voice. He knocked it out of the park. We will never forget last night. Thank you...and we WILL be back !!!!

There was a huge christian retreat gathering in town, had every restaurant in town catering for it, except this one. Had a very good scramble with lots of goodies. Has a fun and nice looking bar and pub menu which I will try next time I am in town.

Had a wonderful dinner and good service. Dan met us at the entrance and so warm and friendly felt like we had known him forever. Good service and everyone very friendly. Everything was delicious except for the meat on the hamburger but had a great tiramisu!!

O let's see, From everybody at the table they enjoyed their shrimp scampi.. 1st time I had the pork chop it was OK it was overcooked and little bit too salty. The salad was nice French fries which she's were good Vodka tonic..Tito's delicious Waitress beautiful she treated us perfectly...

Don't go here if you want anything under medium well done because "they don't cook it any rarer." They will ask you, when you order, how you would like for it to be cooked, but they don't care. They then offered to have the manager come talk to us, but that didn't happen either. The bloody Mary and mozzarella sticks were fine, but everything else was a hard miss.

Horrible. The waitress was so rude. Our spaghetti had meatballs made from different meats. The lighting is awful. Take the two bright spotlights out! We had to ask if there was dessert. Like what kind of waitress does that? Also, I think if something isn't on the menu that should be the first thing out of your mouth besides hello. To spend 20 minutes deciding what you want to order and then ordering it and then the waitress says oh yeah we're out of that really??? Also if you're reading this and you're looking at the menus on Google yeah that's not what they have.

It was my good friends b-day 🎂!! We always enjoyed this place( never again)I looked at the menu and reviews for a hour thought great let's go.!! It was so bad 👎 the menu !? Was fake !! Nothing was available!! Just to lure you in !! 🥺 it ruined our whole night !! And still charged $104.00 I think it was worst service and food we all ever had !! I didn't take pics gave our food back rite away.So it wasn't in my face and nose !! Do your self a favor !! 💯 when your in town!! Go to Floyd's fosty freeze!

Walk in the door with my family, 3 employees looked right at us, but didn’t bother to seat us for 20 minutes. Got seated by the bartender and the waitress said she would be right with us. 15-20 minutes later we left because no one came back. I understand if you busy but there were 3 other tables in the whole place.

Please have the courtesy to correct your hours. It sounds like new ownership and a new name. Good business practice to update google since a lot of us drive great distances to find fun places to eat.
