I am writing to convey my profound admiration for the authentic Texas barbecue experience consistently delivered by H-E-B, and particularly to commend the truly exceptional service I repeatedly receive from your remarkable team member, Tiffany. As a Texan for twenty-five years, I pride myself on discerning the nuances of true Texas barbecue. I can unequivocally state that H-E-B has not only met but consistently exceeded my high expectations, offering an unparalleled culinary journey with each visit. My patronage is frequent, often spanning multiple visits weekly, a testament to the consistently impressive quality and inviting atmosphere you cultivate. While your entire menu earns high praise, my personal indulgence is undoubtedly the loaded baked potato. Its generous portions, meticulously prepared ingredients, and delectable flavors never fail to deliver a profoundly satisfying experience. Yet, it is Tiffany's truly exemplary service that transforms a great meal into an extraordinary dining event. Her attentiveness is simply remarkable; she possesses an uncanny ability to anticipate needs and meticulously processes every detail of my order, ensuring flawless accuracy every single time. Tiffany consistently goes beyond the call of duty, creating an atmosphere where every customer feels genuinely valued and thoroughly attended to. She ensures that each meal is not just delicious but that the entire visit is a remarkably pleasant and memorable occasion. Her unwavering dedication to customer satisfaction shines through in every interaction, consistently setting a benchmark for five-star service. I firmly believe Tiffany represents the epitome of an invaluable employee. Her profound commitment to excellence and her tangible positive influence on the customer experience warrant not just recognition, but also serious consideration for retention and advancement within your esteemed organization. Indeed, the professional and courteous demeanor of your entire staff, from greeting to departure, is consistently impressive. H-E-B, you have truly excelled in fostering an environment of quality and exceptional service. Scotty L
First and foremost, apologies for not snapping a pic with a full plate. I have never been here before and dropped by with my cousin to pick up a few groceries. Erica was AMAZING and helped us walk through the menu and gave some recommendations. I have an allergy and can’t eat spicy food so she made sure to tell me what was safe. The two meat plate was great with brisket and turkey. Sides were flavorful and perfectly cooked, I had onion rings and potato salad. My cousin thoroughly enjoyed the loaded cornbread. This was a surprising find. I was hesitant and expected it to be more commercial given that it’s at HEB but it definitely tasted like backyard Texas BBQ. We will definitely be back. The service was amazing! 10/10 recommend!
Chicken tenders are our favorite! Brought my mom in from town just for these.
Best thing about going to HEB is the True Texas BBQ. Just a few pictures we have the turkey and brisket and sides. We also tried the tamales and chili when they were on the menu. Everything they have is so good!

Ate here for the first time today and was impressed. Got a stuff potato and it was loaded. The potato was cooked perfectly and the brisket was great. I also tried the sausage and it was tasty as well! Looking forward to eating here again soon!
This was my second time getting bbq from this location and I must say the experience each time was GREAT!! The young lady who assisted me & also made suggestions was Tiffany. Omg...she was so nice and helpful. Customer service at its best! I did takeout and it was amazing. The ribs, brisket and sides were very flavorful and still hot when I made it home. The flavored teas were an added bonus. I give it a 10 out of 10 and will be returning.
Our wedding was a few days ago at Magnolia Creek Ranch in Princeton, and we had food catered from this location in McKinney. There was a last-minute cancellation from the driver who was scheduled to deliver the food, so the manager Shane stepped up to save the day and our reception. We had over 100 guests to feed and he put the food in his own car then delivered to our venue as quickly as possible, which we greatly appreciate. He took care of things so quickly, no one even noticed there was a delay. The food was excellent and the quality of service from Shane truly represented the HEB brand. I have always been a loyal HEB customer since I'm originally from the Houston area and thankfully you have several stores here now, so I can continue that. Thank you so much to HEB in McKinney and especially Shane for helping to make our wedding reception special!
Wife and I went for dinner. Fantastic as always. Brisket is darn good every time. We got a brisket sandwich and the loaded elote. The elote with brisket did not disappoint! There was a small error and Mike corrected it instantly. Thanks to Mike for all his help! Super friendly and helpful. Y’all need to go to HEB Mckinney and have the BBQ.
Jeff in the HEB BBQ was outstanding. My husband had picked up our dinner from a different store and came home without all of our food. I walked into the store with my receipt and Jeff made it happen for me. Our family had happy bellies and he did it with a smile on his face. Here everything is truly better.
I had an amazing experience at the H-E-B BBQ restaurant! The food was delicious — the brisket was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. But what really made my visit stand out was the great service from Oscar. He was super friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect.
Yesterday, at True Texas BBQ in McKinney, I was met with a wonderful experience of True Customer Service...like it used to be and should always be at All establishments! Although I received this warm and genuine service from all the staff (both times I was there yesterday), I must give an Abundance of Kudos and Appreciation to Mike! Yes, Sir! You, Mike should create the "play-book" and train other establishments staff on Customer Service and Support. You are an Asset! 😊💯👍🏽
We love HEB and we also the BBQ you serve (brisket, turkey and sausage). Oscar helped me today in the restaurant and he was great! Friendly, professional and helpful. Excellent experience!
My wife and I come here whenever we come grocery shopping and have a great experience every time. The staff are friendly and helpful, the food is very good, and the dining area is neat and clean. Kudos to Oscar for providing great service on this particular visit. We recommend HEB BBQ!
Was an amazing experience all around, went and tried some bbq since I'd never had HEB bbq before and I was surprised on how good it was compared to other places that only sever bbq like Dickey's. I'd say it's actually better. Erland was a great help in helping me pick what to get since it was my first time! I'll be back here more for sure.

Always enjoy the food in here. It’s one of the best barbecue places around and it’s conveniently in the supermarket so that way you don’t shop hungry. You can order in person or at the screen and they even serve alcohol. The staff there are awesome especially Elaina she is very friendly and attentive.

Best pork ribs ever. So glad they added potato chips as a side. Great beer selection, nice St. Arnold Oktoberfest right now. All staff took good care of us, Cameron stopped by to check on our food, nice! This is our hometown go to for BBQ!
This BBQ spot is pretty solid! While it’s not on the level of Hutchins, I really appreciated the option to order fatty brisket, which is my favorite. The restaurant operates more like a fast-food joint, so there’s no table service, but the ambiance was surprisingly pleasant. My order was ready in no time, and the brisket was both tasty and moist. Overall, I left satisfied and would recommend it for a quick and enjoyable BBQ fix!
Update a year later: I came back here because I was hungry for barbecue. My meal including a kid sized drink was a little over $14. I'd say it was enough food to fill me up. I ordered the same thing as last time with the exception of a banana pudding and some mac and cheese. And this time for a drink I just picked a half and half tea because I had completely forgot to order it until I got to the window. The elderly woman was super nice and friendly and even though she said she almost forgot my banana pudding, she was very kind and remembered at the last minute. First off, the sandwich itself had four cuts of Turkey inside. There was only a small glob of the barbecue sauce in the middle of the sandwich which unfortunately wasn't enough. When I was at the window the woman asked if I wanted spicy or sweet barbecue sauce so I chose spicy. She may have picked the sweet one, or that's just what it was supposed to taste like. But the added sauce was a little more on the sweet side and barely any spice. It tasted more of a ketchup/ cocktail sauce to me. Something you would dip shrimp in or seafood. It wasn't my favorite. The sandwich itself was hot, however because the meat slices were too thick, it became very chewy fast from the peppery lining. It was hard to rip apart with just teeth alone so I had to grab the sandwich and yank. I think if they were to cut the meat a little thinner but just add more, this would have been perfect. The thick cuts of meat are too tough too chew through. The glob of sauce that was inside the sandwich was pretty good, and it definitely helped because the meat was a little dry. Overall the sandwich was all right, I'm pretty sure the last time I was here I enjoyed it more because I was hungry. I think it had a little too much pepper because it became more spicy than anything. Which was very ironic considering the container of sauce was not as spicy. On first bite of the mac and cheese I don't know if I liked it or not. But halfway through I realized it tasted or reminded me of mac and cheese I got in high school. It wasn't bad, and it was piping hot so that was nice. The price to portion ratio is honestly fine, I got full halfway. I appreciate that they used home compostable materials like the containers, straws, and plasticware. They are definitely environmental friendly. My half and half tea was not the greatest. I don't know why but there was an odd faint chlorine taste. I honestly should have gotten another bottle drink like last time. The banana pudding is very delicious. The cream on top almost has a coconut flavor and it's faintly sweet. Which goes well with the banana flavor. There's real chunks of banana sliced in it. It definitely could use more cookies, but honestly it's so good I'm probably going to have to go back in the line and get my partner one. This was probably the best part of the meal. I think overall the food is a 3.8, but the banana pudding is definitely a five star. I will keep my rating a 4 from the great customer service, delicious desserts, and a decent price to portion ratio. ________________________________________ My meal was a little over 7 dollars. That included a bottled 1.00 drink and a sliced turkey sandwich with BBQ sauce. I dined in. It may have been because I was fairly hungry getting here, but the food was pretty stinking good. Definitely better than Dickeys. The size was good, or fair for the price. I did want pulled beef but the price was over 9 after tax for that. A little more steep than turkey. The bun was crisp on top and soft to bite into. The meat was warm but not hot. There wasn't a line today (Wednesday afternoon) and I was able to order immediately upon entering. Tables were clean, atmosphere was nice. A regular drink was 2.25. my drink was a lime mineral water. I'm used to sparkling water so it was really delicious. Nice lime flavor true to what it was. Very bubbly. Bring 15 or so dollars to eat a decent meal.
It’s convenient and service has been pretty good. Their fatty brisket is the highlight. During this visit they had the brisket Bahn Mi, which was very good. The fresh jalapeños, cabbage vinaigrette salad paired very well with the fatty brisket. If they had used Vietnamese or a version of their bakery’s pan Frances it would’ve a solid sandwich.

I was talking to Oscar in the BBQ department, and by the way gave me excellent service.....Thank you Oscar!! I was mentioning him how I thought that y'all's chicken are the best I've had being here in TX. However, I'm from New Orleans where we like a little spice, so I was wondering if y'all would consider kicking y'all's tenders up a notch by adding a little spice to them?
I live bbq from kc the kids burnt end we’re ok the peach cobbler was great. The one I was really looking forward too the cornbread topped with pulled pork. Disappointed corn bread dry pork tasted ok but bread overcooked and dry. Was really looking forward to some Texas bbq.
I finally had the opportunity to try H-E-B's barbecue place. After having to wait on a fairly long line with only one person taking orders and the self-service tablet not functioning, I got the chance to order with a very friendly, nice person. I ordered the two meat plate plate and substituted Texas tornado for one of the meats, at an extra cost. The cashier asked me if I wanted pickles, onions, and bread and I only accepted the pickles and onions. Check out the picture of the pickles and onions, later. The store uses plastic forks and spoons which is a big problem if you try to eat at Texas tornado. My suggestion is if you order one, bring your own metal fork and your own metal knife because the plastic ones break as the picture below will show you. The Texas tornado is very tough and not very tasty. It's obviously an attempt to copy a local Texas BBQ legend side, but doesn't come close. I also noticed that the tables were not cleaned after each customer. The restaurant was quite busy and it was odd to see HEB employees taking their lunch breaks at the restaurant but not eating the barbecue. In conclusion, glad I got to try it but not going back.

I was excited about trying this location but it grew disappointing as i attempted to order. It says one meat plate $9 but when you press the choice of meat it increases to almost $20; i couldnt figure that out so i left the machine and seeked a cashier instead. It is the same thing, so dont believe the plate cost the price advertised. I ordered as a side corn bread and a diet soda besides my ribs. I paid and headed to the fountain drink which was broken, then the cashier let me know they ran out of corn bread and ribs. I requested a refund. It took 27 min to get a refund because the cashier couldn’t figure it out so luckily Alex showed up and made it happen. He asked me why and i explained to him that no soda, no corn bread no ribs, i rather eat elsewhere…

My wife and i ordered from Uber Eats last night, wanting to try the BBQ restaurant located in the HEB store on Eldorado in McKinney. We love HEB! We were very excited to try the restaurant, as we live near by, shop at HEB regularly, and havent tried the BBQ. Unfortunately, that excitement turned into dissapointment when the food arrived. We ordered smoked turkey, smoked brisket and smoked sausage. I specifically checked the boxes when ordering the meats, for sweet and spicy BBQ sauce, onions, pickles and bread, as we intended to make sandwiches (brisket, turkey, sausage). I also added a note in my order to include utensils. When the food arrived, there was no BBQ sauce, no bread and no utensils. Also, the turkey we received had a big band of fat, which had to be removed and obviously reduced the edible weight. We also ordered lean brisket, but received fatty brisket instead, which again, after removing the fat, reduced the weight. Overall, ordering takeout from Texas Style was a frustrating experience for my wife and I. Even though the location is very convenient, i'm not sure we will give the BBQ restaurant another chance as there are many other BBQ options in DFW and on Uber Eats (Dickeys, Rudy's, etc.). Maybe this was a one-off, but it was our experience.
