I’ll be the first to admit I go to Sonic too dang often, but it provides me a unique, if not somewhat shameful, perspective on the various locations in north DFW. This has been the most consistently positive, attentive group I’ve visited. My orders are always spot on. Keep up the good work!

Super sonic bacon double cheeseburger with fries extra well done is absolutely the best around!!! Great customer service too! Love the Melissa Sonic!!! EDIT: Since the review above we have only been back 3 or so times bc I'm pretty sure they aren't cleaning their flat grill properly or at all. The burgers and bacon taste like they were rubbed on the floor. It has a rancid taste to it. I kept trying them thinking they lost their cook and no one knew how to properly clean it or maybe they were short handed and didn't have time and possibly finally hired more people or after enough time they figured it out. NO, I WAS WRONG!!! Had a Super Sonic bacon double cheeseburger and couldn't finish it bc it kept gagging me! That says a lot....I need to go tell the manager but after all this time and no one has pointed it out to them I don't know if it would help. My husband and friends have found the same funky taste so I know it's not just my tastebuds. Please Sonic fix this....ONE STAR UNTIL FIXED!!!

We go to this sonic all the time. The food is always good and the staff is always friendly. However, I don't like that sonic as a.company should let people tip on their credit cards because we don't always think about having cash with us when we go and we feel terrible not being able to leave a tip.

I live in Michigan, and we have to drive about 3 hours to find the closest sonic. So, everytime I come down here to visit, I go to sonic at least 3-4 times, and this is the location I always go to. Food is always hot and exactly what we ask for. Employees are always friendly. Great experiences.

I live half a mile away lol so I go here for fast food! Normally I cook at home but emergency cases I go to sonic. The staff are very friendly! This is only fast food I make sure I tip they are just so nice and food is always great !! And my happy hour drinks are always good !!

I love this Sonic 😍 I feel like they're cooking with love my food has never disappointed me here. All of the carhop ladies are happy and kind and some even joke with me. Definitely recommend for nice hot food that looks like the picture and taste just as good!

I just had the best experience ever here. I had just gotten done working a 12 hour shift and wanted to hamburger. I had stopped at a red light open my door and didn’t realize my wallet had fallen out. Once I got to sonic, I ordered my food, and the person who took my order was very patient with me. That’s when I realized I could not find my wallet. I walked up to the doors and the nice lady had my food in her hand. Sadly I did not get her name but she had blonde hair and brown eyes. I explained my situation and she said that my food was on her today, I was so relieved and felt so grateful. I’m top of that. It did not take them long at all to make my food. There are not very many people like that in the world anymore. I will be back for sure and with a huge tip. Thank you so much.

Been coming to this location with my grandparents for 15+ years and it's always been great! Today was an especially fantastic visit. The food was super fresh, fries crispy, immediate service, friendly and accurate service, and the carhop (Lisa) was very sweet and made sure we were good with everything. The meal had lots of ketchup and extra napkins like it should be. Will always come back!

Something was wrong with the menu screen so when I tried to put in for a tip, it tipped $100! I asked the first carhop I saw about taking care of it. As busy as she was she took care of the issue quickly and very kindly. After taking care of that issue, she brought us our order out equally as fast. She was very sweet and made sure I had everything I needed. So if you want a great carhopper, go see Samantha at this location. I do not even live in the area I made sure to let her know that she was one of the nicest, greatest carhops I've ever had at any Sonic!!

We had a great experience at this sonic. Never been before but the service was prompt and our server was refreshingly amazing. I forget her name but she was brunette. Which may have been many a employee. She worked the morning shift on today 8/29/20 and we gave her a $3 tip. Wish I had more to give her as she definitely deserved at least 10.

Always amazing service. Great shakes, my son recently got dental surgery and had to go on a liquid diet. He said the shakes were amazing. Especially vanilla and yellow cake batter. The food is always nice and hot when you order it. Recommend 10/10

I have deleted my past bad review because their service has really changed in four years. I use their app every morning before work. I make my order in my driveway, I just live down the street, and then say I’m sitting outside for pickup when I’m there. I have never had to wait very long and my order is always right. I do have to say that I do feel bad for the staffers who have to fun the food out to the cars in -4 degrees weather because I was told that they can’t wear gloves yesterday when I used them last.

Let me start by saying if it wasn’t for a friendly face, Cat, I wouldn’t rate this sonic very high. She not only is always cheerful, but gets the order for my large family right every time. The burgers aren’t always hot and often have items in them I asked to be omitted. Cat is always polite and corrects it without giving any huffs or upset facial expression. At times this location is not busy and still takes a long time to get orders out as well, but as long as I keep getting great customer service I will come back. Just need to add that I went for a quick snack for my kids on the way out of town just now and Laci was my first car hop who also took my order…. Worst service ever. My kids burger completely wrong and wrong side. Kids drinks came adult cups, and she was far from friendly. She just handed the food took the card. Oh and the manager stayed outside smoking for the whole trip so I couldn’t speak to him.

I just enjoyed my burger to the fullest. I'm a happy girl. Let me explain: I am gluten free by choice, not celiac. I love gluten but it doesn't love me.. I have the hardest time getting a cheese burger with no bun the way I like it.. I simply ask that the burger patties are my bun.. I still love the works on it stuffed in the middle.. Its confusing to ask for at a drive up window.. what I can say is the team at Sonic hit it out of the park.. My burger was all that I had hoped it would be.. AMAZING and DELICIOUS!! Thanks Team, I really appreciate Y'all

Not adjusting the overall stars, but curious why the screens in the stalls cannot be fixed. Stalls 13 & 11 have been out for several days. 12 has been out months. Service is always outstanding and this is my favorite Sonic, which is the most important factor. Just seems like tech issues are being ignored and not addressed.

Fountain drinks were a bit on the weak side like not enough syrup in the mix. Coke and Dr Pepper we're very weak and watery. Order was wrong. Took order as is, typically as I do. No need in making a big deal out of it. Not a Karen or a Conner...

Old and hard chicken strips. Obviously not fresh and were not edible. Fast food in Melissa is bad. Sonic used to be a good spot. But they are bad now too. Paid $12 for food that couldn't be ate.

This is a decent location and it genuinely just depends on when you get there and what you order as to what your experience will be. They are not consistent in quality and food quality is definitely a problem here. Service can leave something to be desired they're almost always cranky and take quite a while to get your order done. Compared to other sonics this location definitely needs some help. It's easily seen from the road and can be accessed for the most part however does have a very poor parking area design and entry and exit.

I have a regular carhop, Serina. She is the absolute best. But the last few times I have went she wasn't working. They need her back on the early morning crew. She always has a smile on her face and she makes it appoint to get to know her regulars. She needs her own store in my opinion. She could turn the reputation around. My vote for her to be the GM is in 100%

This is the only drive through place in Melissa. Service is so. incredibly. slow. Don't expect to breeze in and out for a quick ANYTHING. I do love their sodas, but if anything else ever opens out here, I will head there for quicker service.

It's Sonic food. Not much to say about it that people don't already know when they are wanting to stop at Sonic, but... This was the slowest Sonic I have ever been to. I watched as some cars drove off without their food. The car hop finally brought out food to an empty car stall. It was that bad, and it wasn't particularly busy either.

Slowest fast food. Not sure if this is just a Sonic thing but seems to become more common that it takes 10 minutes to get a simple sweat tea or basic shake despite ordering 5-10 minutes in advance on the mobile app. Guess if I want it out quicker I need to order 20 minutes before arrival.

It was a bit of a wait for cold fries and stale, partially hard buns. The strawberry Dr. Pepper was good, and chicken was fine. It was easy to drive the vehicle while pulling a trailer through.

I was pretty disappointed when i stopped into grab soft serve for the family. What i ordered on mobile order and what I got were very different. I ordered three soft serve cups and one hit fudge sundae. Their soft serve in a dish only has one size, and what you get compared to what is shown on the menu are entirely differentSundae. The size of the cup is clearly smaller then the picture and even then not even filled halfway to the top. And their sundae says hot fudge whip cream and a cherry. It was just hot fudge in the cup with some soft serve on top. You can go down the road to braums and get 4 times the soft serve for the same price or less. Not worth the stop for soft serve. And they brought it out with out offering a cup holder even though I was clearly the only person in the car and had no where to put all four cups.

Vicki the manager is not a good manager. Got a brand new gift card from Christmas, BRAND NEW… try to use it after we order, and food comes out and they can’t scan their own gift card! Then sits at our car and expects us to download app, create profile, make the same order and do the order online as the server is standing with our food outside our car. Horrible management. She clearly doesn’t understand her job is to fix problems, NOT expect the customers to do all the work for her. ITS YOUR GIFT CARD! Not a problem with my credit or debit card… so y’all shouldn’t fixed the problem. Ended up paying debit and counsel eve use the gift card. LAME!

This is a very slow Sonic. Also, they often get the orders wrong. One day recently, I ordered 2 drinks and tater tots and both drinks were wrong and rather than tater tots they brought a sandwich of some type and onion rings. Lol. I still go because the diet cherry Sprite is so good and I don't know anywhere else to get it.

Sonic is fast food delivered to the car. My kids like the slushes. I have cut back on soda and sugar and the menu doesn't offer much in the way of any healthy options so we rarely purchase food at Sonic. All in all, it is a place for my kids to have sugar filled drinks and ice cream treats.

This Sonic is so incredibly sloooooow. It doesn't really matter what you order, it takes forever to receive it. The carhops are rude and no one really has any idea what is going on. It's a shame because there's no other fast food really close, but I'd rather drive to somewhere with better service.

My ice cream was so old that it was super melted and the cone was soggy. My ice coffee was SO bitter that you couldn't taste the cream or sugar. We were the only cars in the drive thru so I don't know why my ice cream was so old! Now we have to add an unplanned stop for our road trip to get a not nasty drink.

The management of this location is by far the worst. The gm here treats her staff poorly. They constantly have to hirer people because the staff is always leaving do to the lack of respect they receive. I have seen the gm of this location miss treat her employees numerous times. she is always yelling at someone and acts as if she can say what she wants to her staff just bc she is the boss. a lot of harassment goes on inside of this location which is why the car hops are always in a bad/rude mood when they take out orders. this always explains why the kitchen staff is always so low. one theres only one to two ppl having to handle the mass amount of orders coming in there are bound to be mistakes. 90% of the time there is only one guy that I see thats ever in the kitchen. the lack of quality that comes from this location is not due to the carhops/cooks, its from the lack of management skills. when management and gm's can treat there staff so poorly it makes the rest of the staff operate in a poor manner. sadly this location Is not a corporate one so any complaints to corporate get emailed to the gm and she gets to handle the complaint, even if its about her. the franchise owner and gm have a special relationship, so complaining to him doesn't solve anything either. when visiting this location, bc its ALL Melissa has, just keep in mind that most of the staff are great employees that are being miss treated. a wise person would take a closer look into the running of this location. this place has lots of potential, if the verbal harassment from management issue was resolved. to the carhops and kitchen crew, I see you. I see you being yelled at and I see you having to do more than your job entails bc your expected to perform at a hire standard then the own management is held to.

Edit: the response below is a joke. I’ve tried to report this to corporate 3 times and all I get is “here is a Rt 44 coupon” they do not actually read the responses. Do NOT get a drink from this location. They used to be awesome but the past few months it has become on drinkable. It started with the ice tasting unfiltered and really gross, and now it is both the drink and the ice. Heard they were under new management but nothing has improved. Really disappointed because this is the one soda shop in our whole town!

They mess up my order EVERY TIME. Forget sauces EVERY TIME. On Halloween I went to get 50 cent corn dogs and the girl said she wasn’t taking orders because she was by herself. Where is management? Whoever owns this location needs to leave food service.

I was in stall#16 pushed the red button activated. We'll be with you soon. It took them 12 minutes to answer then when I tried to place my order they cut me off and said nothing. I pushed the red button again then a young male came out said he was the mgr on duty. He came out to the car and I asked why they cut me off and didnt want to take my order. He then said they are trained to take care of the online orders 1st. He did apologize but if you are going to only serve online orders 1st then why have open stalls...why not advertise it...it is a sure sign of how lazy the younger generation are when they do get a job. Lost me as a customer and I come there twice a day.

Can't distinguish the difference between mustard and mayo. Tried to call them when they messed up my order so it would be ready when i got there and the phone does not work. Also after they screwed up my order, i drove home and then drove back to the store i had to wait 30 minutes to get attitude from the car hops about my sandwich being made wrong. Also, nothing for my inconvenience? I drove an additional 6 miles and spent 15 minutes of my time fixing this order.... Hopefully ownership looks at this... training is piss poor here. Not the first time it happened but the first time i felt like leaving a review about it

Skip this location. McKinney much better. Quality of beef gone downhill--tasted different than other locations. Drink orders messed up (both diet) and only cheese and pickles on my burger. Won't be coming here ever again.

Unbelievable! I have never posted a review like this. I just stopped in at this particular Sonic on Hwy121 in Melissa. We live nearby & we try to support our local businesses every chance we possibly can. It's a week before school starts, and our kids have been asking about getting a shake. I checked the Sonic website (for any current specials), and they have Half-Priced Shakes after 8pm. That sounds great, and my boys can hardly wait until the evening comes. Around 8:30pm, we drove to Sonic, went through all the wonderful choices, and pushed the button for service. When I began my order, I was abruptly cut off by the Sonic employee, and she said that special ended in the Summer. I replied by saying I saw the special online, and it said it did not end for another five days (Sunday). She shot back at me LOUDER this time, and again said "that special ended this Summer!" I mentioned that their menu screen right in front of me was ADVERTISING that VERY SAME SPECIAL!!! Again she refused, and said the special ended in the Summer. I started to ask if perhaps her location decided to end that corporate special earlier than advertised (even though they were still advertising it on their menu screen), but before I could finish my question, I was AGAIN abruptly interrupted, and she yelled to me, "OK, what do you want???" At this time, it became clear to me any business that chooses to treat their patrons/customers in this manner does not deserve my money - - or yours as well. I decided to take my money to another establishment. Then, as I drove slowly around the building, I passed the drive-thru area/window. There was a girl & a manager LAUGHING hysterically! She could hardly stand up she was laughing so hard. He yelled out, "Are you gonna let him treat you like that???", and he burst out laughing. I looked inside the Sonic, and the other five people were ALL pushing & shoving & laughing, making similar comments. Suddenly, one or two of them looked out the window, realized that I was watching them, stood up straight, and stopped laughing (briefly). As I drove away, I heard them BURST out laughing again. Needless to say, we will NOT be visiting that Sonic again. I simply wanted a nice ice cream treat for my three boys. They were very disappointed. One asked why "that lady" was so rude, and another asked why they would laugh about treating people in such a way. I have to agree.

Ordered something on their website for pickup. After checked in, we waited 15mins at least and girls was like I have no idea where you checked in, they have to remake the order, so more waiting. During This process, 4 cars behind us left.

This has got to be THE worst sonic. Twice I've been in the drive thru and waited 10 min to even get my order taken. Then waited 20 min for them to tell me they are out. Last time I go there and I don't recommend anyone else to either.

Seriously this place needs to monitor their employees and their food handling! I just bought a sandwich and thank goodness I always check my food before eating. I unfortunate found a long string of hair in my food. Please, this is as disgusting as it gets! Be careful when you prepare customer meals! I had to throw my food away and it was a waste of money! Beware everyone check your food at this location.

The food is awesome the guy who took my order professional the gal who brought out our order smh! Never have I ever complained about this place. I live in Anna but rather come here but the gal must of had her monthly or dry spell... very very rude no hi how are u she just started throwing our food at us. I told her we were missing a drink she's like I GAVE U TWO! and rolled her eyes I said with receipt in hand we had 3 drinks and we're missing one plus u gave us wrong sz. She rolled eyes walked off I'LL GO GET IT came back no I'm sorry about mix up or anything just thru drinks at us. She must be new never seen her before or she transferred from Anna sonic which makes sense.

Literally ordered 3 waters. 15 min later and they still did not bring them. Asked for an update and they said it’s coming. It never came and we left. For 3 cups of WATER! 😅

So for clarification we went around 11pm. They close at 12AM. Ordered a coney, burger meal, wacky pack, cheese sticks, and a blast. All of it tasted like it was old. Nothing was warm. Look I get it you have an hour left before close, but it's on a Saturday night u should expect last minute customers. Quality should be number 1 always. With the rose in fast food prices and the expectation of a tip at Sonic now, we the customers expect a bit more as well.

The day time crew has the rudest girl working n the drive through. I pulled in at exactly 2:30 pm today and asked for a minute for the kid to decide which drink he wanted. I was promptly asked to pull into a stall to order instead. Why? There was nobody behind me, and nobody even in any of the stalls. This girl is whack, the night shift crew is cool though. 0/10 though I’ll just start driving to the one in Anna

we ordered four drinks. They took a really long time. once they arrive, he got them all mixed up. He didn’t even add the toppings we wanted. this was not the first time it happened. This happened two other times. I recommend not going to sonic at THIS location.

Update: we waited AN HOUR for our food. We’ve been waiting for our food for going on 30 minutes. We had an online order that we placed 10 mins prior to arriving, when we got here we checked in and gave our stall number. The screen showed it was in the kitchen, then on the way. Then the order disappeared from the screen and we didn’t receive our food. We pressed the button and someone came out and asked for confirmation on our order, then went back inside. They’ve brought out several orders since then and have not stopped back by our car or even looked in our direction.

I have been going here and no problems until last few times I have gone they have messed up my drink order 5 times in the last week. So if you want to customize your drink don’t go here. The employees do not care and when you ask them if they put something in your drink you asked for they will lie right to your face. STAY AWAY

They never answer the phone firstly or it’s busy all day. They take forever to bring out a cup of ice. Food is not always done properly. When you try to order online their system is down.

The service is horrible at this Sonic, notorious for taking 20+ minutes with orders of just 2 milkshakes but this time they marked the order complete without actually handing it over. No one would pick up the call, and after one hour we got our 1 milkshake and 1 sonic blast all melted without any explanation or them even looking fresh. It's as if they made them and just forgot about them. I guess this was finally it, I'm done going to this location.

As of lately, the young black lady in the drive thru window is rude and disrespectful to me and my family. In addition, I am questioning her morals and ethics amplitude due to the facts that she never gives back change or receipts after an order in a timely or professional manner. In addition, her behavior is escalating. This is the second time that her behavior falls far below my expectations or the service that I am used to from Sonic.

The manager at this Location doesn't know what's on the $1.99 menu and that it's currently still available. So I just left without getting my order: Small tator Tots, Small Classic Shake, and 1/4 lb hamburger.

Sat for about 10 minutes with screen telling me “red button activated” after I pushed it. Cars that pulled up after me had their orders taken and delivered, but no one ever came over the intercom to take my order. Eventually, the screen again said, “push the red button to activate,” even though service was never provided. No signage was up indicating that the stall was broken, so I’m not sure why other guests were served while I was not, but I didn’t have time to wait any longer to find out.

I went to sonic to get some grilled cheese and cheese tots & i asked for groovy sauce with my order. Ofc they didnt include the sauce in the order and so i pressed the call button & asked for groovy sauce and it took them a minute to answer and another 10 minutes to say theyd get it to me AFTER i called again. My order was $10 and I tipped 20% whilst ordering so I am not the issue here. The bottom line is: sonic, do better. If you want people to spend their money then you need to at least provide the bare minimum of giving what the customer orders.

The worst sonic. Their drinks have tasted off for over a year. They have had terribly long wait times for quite some time, so we stopped going. Tonight we decided to try again and waited 25 minutes with two other cars there. They brought us food and read off the receipt (and didn’t give us the receipt, mind you) so we assumed we got the correct order. Got home and found out we got 2 incorrect items instead of the 6 we ordered. Even the drink was wrong. My husband ate some of the incorrect food and it was stale. Seriously awful.

I pulled up and a girl was outside the drive thru rubbing her bare feet I ordered a large jalapeño popper waited 25 minutes and they forgot my ranch I could hear the employees being loud the whole playing around whoever manages that store needs to be fired

The store turned off mobile orders. So they forced me to pay full price for drinks. Then I sat behind a person that got food and it took 6 minutes for them to get their food. Not once did they come out the side door to bring me the two drinks I ordered. When I finally got to the window, someone took my card and gave it back to me with no receipt. A minute late a different person shows up with my drinks and asks for my payment. They then tell me the other person charged me for the wrong order and they had to refund the transaction. While this is going on the car behind me gets their food while they are still trying to figure out my transaction. So a 2 minute trip turned into a 15 minute ordeal. Melissa truly has the worst Sonic I've ever been to.

They should really close this location. Whoever the franchisee is doesn’t care about customer service. I sat in line as the only car for 10 minutes to wait for a medium drink. There were a total of 5-8 workers in the restaurant just talking and not assisting customers. I would rather see a more productive business in this area other than this particular Sonic location.

I have been here twice and ordered on line both times. The first time I waited 45 minutes then went to drive through. They said sorry we misplaced your order and remade it. Then it was wrong. Today I ordered on line and waited 40 minutes and still no food or drink. Extremely slow service.

I ordered a route 44 drink, they must’ve forgotten the drink because the cup was full to the BRIM with ice. There was maybe a kiddies cup worth of liquid. But the mozzarella sticks were amazing. But pretty pretty please fill my cup up with less ice please 🥺🥺

Visited this location at 1045 on a Saturday night. Told we had to wait for them to cook fresh tenders, which was not a problem. The fries in my son kids meal were old and seemed to be recooked in oil. My daughter tater tots in her kids meal were gummy, which let's me know they were old as well. Will drive further to Sonic in Anna next time.

The service was poor. I went thru the drive thru to order 2 drinks. It took over 10 min to get my drinks and my change when I got to the window. They were not busy during that time. They were behind the window playing and cursing. The sprite only had carbonation, no flavor. Very unhappy with the service from this location.

I’m extremely disappointed with my recent visit to Sonic. I ordered two Sonic Blasts and was the only customer there at the time, yet I waited 22 minutes for my order. There was absolutely no excuse for such a long wait given how empty the place was. To make things worse, when my order was finally brought out, the employee was rude and unprofessional. No greeting, no apology for the wait—just attitude. This kind of service is unacceptable. I expect better from a place that promotes fast and friendly service. And to top it off the blasts were only 3/4 of the way filled. Sonic, do better.

I don’t normally leave reviews, but this is the second time I’ve had a disappointing experience at this location. I was promptly asked for my order, but then sat at the window for 23 minutes without ever being greeted or given any food. There were no long lines or signs of a rush—this was not due to being busy. The real issue seems to be a lack of leadership and accountability. It felt like a group of unsupervised young employees who showed no sense of urgency, responsibility, or customer service. Not even a simple greeting or acknowledgment while I waited at the window. I’m sharing this not to be harsh, but in the hope that the owner sees how this kind of mismanagement is directly costing business. A simple “Hi, we’ll be right with you” could’ve made a huge difference. Very disappointing.

We started ordering our food and the girl taking our order. She kept asking us if that was all and we said no multiple times. She ignored us and we had to order again. Then they brought the wrong food and not all of our drinks. I posted a picture of the trash food they brought out and asked them to bring me a cheeseburger like I ordered. I showed the girl how awful of a burger they gave me and asked her again to bring a cheeseburger. Still did not get a cheeseburger and they brought me a crappy old hamburger. This place really tried my patience. I'm normally easy going and was very patient and kind. I would not recommend this place to anyone! Awful service, awful food. Where I'm from our Sonic is amazing this place is definitely not.
