Lovely setting and nice staff. Meals are top notch but restaurant is currently not open all the time. They have special dinners that are the best in the Vineyard!
What a beautiful spot and amazing staff.
Phenomenal! Apslootly amazing.
Great place
The Beach Plum is everything you want in an up-Island retreat. The views are gorgeous and every moment spent on the property is peaceful. The quaint walkway to the beach passes by a beautiful farm and allows you to avoid the sunset traffic. The rooms are lovely and each is unique and you have access to the entire Menemsha Inn as well their small fitness center. There are beautifully made screened in patios attached to many rooms that allow you to enjoy nature and the breeze even during rain. All rooms come with access to Lucy Vincent and Squibnocket beaches. I looked forward to waking up every morning, grabbing coffee and a delicious scone and making my way out to the patio to read. I’ll end this review by saying that the entire staff is as friendly and kind as can be and they contribute to the warm and relaxing atmosphere. We will return next year no doubt and I’m already counting down the days!
Well kept property in a very peaceful and family friendly environment, across from a gorgeous and very quiet part of the beach. The room we stayed in was an efficiency studio with a great balcony that can accommodate 2-4 people. Would stay here again.
Had an amazing stay, quiet and peaceful and serene property. All guests mindful of mask wearing and distance. Nova in reception provides me with exceptional service, I will be returning soon!
This venue and the staff were incredible. Very helpful and accommodating...especially Katya who saw that everything about the wedding was perfect. This is a special place.
Nice in nestled in the greenery, nice and cozy offering serenity from it's natural vibe and comfortable environment, offers awesome food and is a great spot for your special events eg. Memorable weddings and parties.
Fantastic stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful, breakfast was good, views and accommodations were excellent.
I haven’t been here in almost 20 years and can’t wait to come visit and stay a couple nights while I’m in town. I worked at the restaurant in the summers of 2003-2004 if anyone I worked with reads this please contact me.
Great food, great service, wonderful views. Use bug spray or you will be eaten alive if you sit outside.
Best breakfast, especially best smoked salmon like nothing I’ve ever had before !
Came for a wedding and stayed on site for the weekend. Beautiful views and friendly staff.
Service with a smile. Breakfast was perfect. Local coffee was perfect.
what a wonderful setting for my wife and I to have a meal. Thank you to the staff....
Beautiful property and great food, just very pricey. Also would be great if they had cappuccinos!
The outdoor dining space at the Beach Plum is perfect for a sunset dinner. The menu is fixed and my meal was served out of order. Overall the service was fine though. The meal was locally sourced features fish dishes.
Small quaint rooms but nice and renovated. Some rooms are quite musty, others are great. Nice view of the ocean and nice green sitting area around.
Pas de chance, mauvais temps, nous n'avons pas pu apprécier les lieux à leur juste valeur
Nice place, but the water pressure in the shower was too light, and the hot water took ten minutes to get hot enough to shower. Also, it was humid, so we kept finding bugs in the room: two daddy long legs, a couple of ants, and a few small moths. AND one of the cold/hot air vents in the ceiling kept DRIPPING. We had to put a towel on the floor so as not to slip. This was in the Delphinium Room. The grounds were beautiful, but the room itself needed work.
maybe it was a bad night but the venerable beach plum inn should be renamed the beach bum inn. nothing went especially right. the hostess' suggested seating time to see the sunset was 45 minutes too late. for some reason everyone was crammed into one small corner of the dining room making for a noisy uncomfortable experience. the rolls were uninteresting and served with packaged butter pats. the baked oysters were non-descript and full of shell. the lobster bisque was bland and devoid of lobster. the recommended filet was fine but the flavors on the plate didn't blend. the pork loin was overdo
You mostly pay for the location here as even a barebones cabin on top of that hill overlooking Menemsha and the sound would be a pleasure to stay at. Unfortunately, the inn, including the neighboring sister property Menemsha inn, feel like they were bought up and converted into places to stay with minimal investment to preserve their history (some investment such as addition TVs is questionable). TV wiring is so haphazardly done that it detracts from quaintness of the inside. You don’t get duvet covers just plain bedsheets for the price. I had to get rid of cockroaches during the stay. Management is virtually unresponsive once you pay for your stay. Finally, the walk to Menemsha is NOT a 1/8 of a mile as they claim. Prepare for a 20 min walk at least if using the trail and don’t forget a bug spray. Walking on the road after sunset definitely didn’t feel safe.
Probably used to be a gem, but it is now more than a little bit tired and worn. Rooms are serviceable but many broken & missing items (shades, AC units, TV, kitchen utensils, lights, etc...). Furniture is clean-ish but worn and stained. No wifi in the room - at least not functional wifi. The continental "breakfast" leaves you needing to drive to find a real breakfast somewhere else. Scones from a box mix, supermarket bagels, a basket of dry muffins....that's it, but not enough of it (they run out). Fitness "center" is an elliptical machine in a small room. And some free weights. Staff is neither pleasant nor rude. Not helpful and not welcoming. They all looked pretty unhappy to be there. The whole place (Beach Plum and sister Menemsha Inn) is in need of some love and tenderness. Stuff is moldy, rotting, decaying, dirty here and there and everywhere. Location is great including access to the beach via a medium length foot path, but it does not make up for the rest of the experience. Not anywhere close to worth the $$ they charge.
I really felt disappointed by this stay. The location of the hotel is lovely. However, the management is exceptionally lacking. The carbon monoxide alarm went off for a long time in the middle of night and woke up the whole hotel until the manager/staff drove over to shut it off (one of the other guests kindly called them) -- no communication about it, no apologies the next day. The room above dropped a glass that shattered outside our porch door. I asked the front desk to pleas clean up the glass shards in the morning, and at 8pm it was still not taken care of. Just an accident waiting to happen. There were cockroaches in our bathroom at night. There were a number of other issues (e.g., the fridge was broken and froze all of our food solid -- we had to throw many items away). For the price, I'd expect much more. On top of all this, there was an issue about how much we were charged that I needed to resolve with the manager, that we raised multiple times. She said she would follow up, and never did. In the end I was told to email her, but my multiple emails about reaching her have all been ignored -- literally no response. They advertise themselves also as a "top" MV wedding venue, and I can't possibly imagine anyone having success with holding a wedding here, given all the communication mishaps and poor attention to detail. I think this hotel has potential, but I would not recommend it at this time.
Mold, moisture, and earwigs everywhere. Including the shower!
This restaurant is no longer open for dinner.
