Everything in the small intimate restaurant was great except the dumplings. The soup wonderful, beef carpacio wonderful, sushi rolls excellent even though they had cream cheese. And desserts were 5 stars. Our server was helpful. Would highly recommend.

This is a premium Japanese restaurant, making a reservation beforehand is a must given there is very limited seating inside. Great ambiance and decoration. We ordered a Yakimeshi with Picaña, this by itself was a rare find and definitely worth the visit. Japanese beer available as well, very expensive though.

I’ve tried many Japanese/Asian restaurants in Merida and thought there was no good Asian food here so I didn’t hope up. But this place surprised me at the moment I walked in. Very peaceful and pretty. And as an Asian I can say this is the best Asian food I have had in Merida. It makes me feel like home. Maybe the owner made adaptions for the market, such as adding cream cheese to the rolls, but I think he/she understands the food. As for the price - there are two things you can’t get for cheap: tattoo and Japanese food. In my opinion the price is acceptable for the quality and experience it provides.

El restaurante es un lugar pequeño y acogedor, lo que lo hace bastante agradable para una cena tranquila pero dado el tamaño, es necesario realizar una reservación. La comida es bastante buena y las porciones son adecuadas pero uno se llenaría con 2 platillos. De entrada recomiendo las tostadas de atún, la porción es de 2 tostadas un poco pequeñas pero muy ricas, vale la pena probarlas. Toda la comida estaba muy bien preparada y tenía buen sabor. El único inconveniente es que algunos platillos tardan en salir. En general es un excelente lugar para almorzar o cenar solo, en pareja o con un grupo pequeño de personas.

Buen lugar para pasar un rato tranquilo con unos rollos tradicionales. Nada ostentosos, buscan apegarse lo más posible a lo tradicional. Precios entre 300 y 400 por persona. La atención medianamente bien, tratan de no estar molestando pero en ocasiones si hace falta que se de una vuelta el mesero por tu mesa.

Muy buena experiencia en general, el servicio, la comida y el ambiente estuvieron excelentes. Solo como comentario, al momento de pagar la propina se cobró un monto distinto al que había dejado, por lo que recomendaría revisar eso. Fuera de eso, todo muy bien y es un lugar muy agradable.

Our food was good and service was on point but the experience felt a little pretentious. I was also charged for a second cup of green tea rather than bringing me a small pot since it's really just water so that was odd. The salmon tepanyaki was really good.

The food here is amazing. I had nigiri, pork belly brochette, and a salad. Everything was amazing. The service on the other hand, not so much. My food was served and I had to ask for chopsticks, and a soy dish. After awhile, I also asked for napkins since my table hadn’t been given any. I would totally go back for the food but please improve your customer service skills.

Buen sabor de los alimentos, lugar muy bonito pero pésimo servicio del mesero, eso nos amargó la visita. Se acerca con una actitud de fastidio y es grosero al responder. Es la primera vez que vamos y no encontrábamos el menú de bebidas y le preguntamos y solo respondió: "tienen que escanear el QR" y se fue. Nosotros buscando algún QR en el menú hasta que unos minutos después se apareció con un pedazo de papel con el dichoso QR, que resultó ser el mismo menú pero en digital y con la parte de bebidas al final. La actitud de la chica de la entrada es lo único rescatable, fue muy educada, atenta y amable. Nuestro mesero fue uno de estatura baja con pelo rizado y barba. Realmente mala actitud, grosero y burlón. No traen gaffettes o algo que indique su nombre así que no lo pude poner en la encuesta. Al final, después de contestar esa encuesta que me dieron, hasta en tono burlón dijo "que pase bonita noche". Lástima del servicio, porque el lugar es muy agradable, bien decorado y la comida de muy buena calidad.

The place is very nicely decorated. Food is a fusion Japanese- Mex. However, food is delicious. Service was very rude. I left a 15% Tip. And the waiter came to not only claim but to force me to leave more tips. For a Japanese Restaurant where service must be at the center of the heart of the customer satisfaction. The waiter should have questioned himself why he received a low tip. This deserves a 1 star in service. In this case me and my family who just came from a 20 years living in Asia, this will be a no return for sure. Management should look into it to correct and improve the service as there are other japanese restaurants around to compete with and for us to choose from.

Really good food, only thing I didn’t like is that I told the waiter to put 10% tip and he gave it to me to add the pin, when I got the notification on my phone I noticed he added 15% and didn’t give me a receipt…

El lugar es muy chico, huele mucho a incienso, está bonito. Hay como 10 o más personas trabajando y todos reunidos en el bar platicando. El servicio deja mucho que desear, te tratan con una actitud muy altanera como si te estuvieran haciendo un favor. La comida está buena pero no excelente ni wow, he comido en mejores restaurantes de sushi sin ser tan caros y altaneros, la verdad yo no regreso hay mejores opciones en Mérida

Ambiente: el lugar es pequeño pero muy bonito, la decoración es apropiada. Tiene tres zonas: barra, interno, y terraza externa. Servicio: Nosotros no teníamos reservación, a pesar de tener mesas disponibles nos colocaron en la barra, no estuvo muy mal pero tampoco fueron amables. Los meseros parecían muy ocupados, el encargado también, pero él nos atendió. Esta prisa no facilitó aprovechar la experiencia para conocer algo nuevo, a pesar de tener experiencia en comida japonesa, el menú era bastante extenso lo que no facilitó la toma de decisiones. Comida: Decidimos probar una entrada y dos platos de especialidad entre ellos un Sashimi. Tomamos dos cócteles para acompañar los alimentos. Al pedir el segundo, la preparación de mi cóctel no fue igual y su sabor cambió. No sabía mal, pero el primero supo mejor. Tristemente tanto mi esposa como yo nos enfermamos del estómago y con náuseas unas horas después de comer en el restaurante. Los platos tenían buen sabor y se sentían frescos, pero no justificaron una cena de dos de $2600.

AVOID TAKEOUT. It’s too bad my first experience here was takeout. The takeout containers and the sauce containers all smell like they were made from recycled trash bags that had fragrance. At first it wasn’t bad, but then it was clear it seeped into all the food and the soy sauce. I had to throw out my sushi after a while because it was starting to make me gag. I’m not exaggerating. Other than that… the rolls looked fine and I’m sure in the restaurant they are amazing. That’s why I gave 2 stars. I hope management sees this and takes a smell of their takeout containers. For $200-400 per sushi roll, you can afford a container that doesn’t smell like toilet paper.

It’s probably the better “Japanese” in Merida in terms of taste but it’s not really Japanese, it misses the mark completely in terms of authenticity. The Karaage chicken was more American-Chinese style sweet & sour topped with chilies and sesame seeds. Typically in Japan the Karaage chicken is battered with a specifically seasoned batter which is very different to this and accompanied with some lemon and mayonnaise (Japanese mayo is often referred to as yum yum sauce). The chicken was nice, but it wasn’t Karaage. Shabu Shabu is one of my favourite dishes of all time, of any cuisine. It’s something that signifies winter season in Japan and I’d eat a lot after a day snowboarding in Hokkaido. I was excited to see Shabu Shabu on the menu because it’s not common to see outside of Japan but again, it really wasn’t correct. This version has a miso based broth, which sometimes you’ll see as an optional flavour at a Shabu Shabu restaurant but it’s more traditional to have a dashi base, which is more of an umami taste. The beef was also the wrong cut, there wasn’t enough fat to render when cooking and it was sliced FAR too thick. Typically the beef should be cut to less than a millimetre so that it can cook in the time it takes to say “Shabu Shabu” which is what kids like to say out loud when eating it in Japan, but this beef took a really long time to cook to the point I was waiting so long without eating that the waiter thought I was finished and came to take the plate away. The sauce was also wrong, it should be a sesame sauce but what I was given was a weird paste with a nutty flavour, maybe it was sesame but more something you’d spread on toast .. but it wasn’t the right sauce which makes Shabu Shabu so delicious. It was a complete fail. The Sushi, like every Sushi I’ve had in Merida, the rice was cooked in too much water and was stodgy. While the Sushi also wasn’t authentic, it was more American style, it was pretty good. I’d say the best sushi I’ve tried in Merida. If this were bigger urban city like cdmx I’d have given this probably 1 star but I think for a small city being so far from the pacific it’s ok. What really bothers me is that restaurants Instagram pictures are actually pretty authentic looking but the reality is so far from what they present themselves as. Literally Google Shabu Shabu or look at the Yakuza instagram where they show proper Japanese beef and then see what they serve you and it’s worlds apart.

The food was delicious, although pretty pricey. The service was good at first but by the time we finished it took forever for anyone to check on us and then another forever to receive the check. The noise of the nightclub above ruined the whole experience. I'll probably never return and it's a shame because the sashimi was amazing.

Lugar malo, y sobrevalorado, de esos que abundan en la ciudad que solo funcionan por las recomendaciones pagadas de los foodies,la actitud pésima del personal, el lugar es pequeño, no recomendable para más de 4 personas, mucho personal, todos atiborrados en la barra, eso sí te sientas cerca de ahí, te enteras de todos los chismes, hicimos reservación y al final nos dijeron que no la tenían, y solo hay una mesa para más de 6 personas, la primera vez, ordene wagyu, y les pedí el certificado, se molestaron, lo que me enseñaron fue una nota de compra, en fin, la comida nada especial, hay muchos mejores opciones en la ciudad, el ambiente olía demasiado a incienso, bastante molesto para la nariz, pero enmascara los olores que salen de la cocina

Llegamos puntuales con reservación y no había nadie en el local. Desde que pedimos tardaron 40 minutos en traernos 6 platos, los únicos que tenían que preparar porque no había más personas comiendo hasta ese momento. Los meseros cuando les preguntas algo ni si quieras te hablan y si no les dejas el 20% de propina (recordamos que es un regalo y no una obligación) no te saludan a la salida. Todo eso de ‘yakuza’ será un ‘show’ como llaman aquí para los que no han dado vuelta al mundo, pero la verdad no es nada bueno. Y tampoco puedes comer con la muchacha que sigue prendiendo palitos de incienso a cada esquina… estás supuestamente en un restaurante y no en una tienda de ropa

Vine con mi novio para el 14 de febrero y recibimos un muy mal trato por parte de los meseros. Desde que llegamos nuestros lugares no tenían ni si quiera los palillos y las soyas, y a pesar de haberlo pedido amablemente unas 2 veces no lo traían. El lugar es bastante pequeño y con pocas mesas como para que suceda este tipo de cosas. Fue a la tercera vez que lo pedí de nuevo amablemente y el mesero solo se giró y agarró unas soyas de una pareja de a lado y me los asentó al frente sin decirme una sola palabra. En general, el ambiente estaba muy tenso, una actitud muy malhumorada mientras más transcurría la noche por parte de los meseros. Y pude notar que a la pareja de a lado se les estaba atendiendo de una manera totalmente diferente, muy bien atendidos. De pura casualidad el hombre conocía al que parecía ser el gerente que estaba en barra. La comida es buena, pero algo cara para lo que es considerando el trato que se da. He visto más reseñas y veo que no es primera vez que sucede este tipo de situaciones lamentablemente.

Reservé para dos personas un jueves por la noche, la primera impresión es que es un lugar bastante pequeño, el clima estaba demasiado fuerte para mi gusto, aún así decidimos quedarnos y nuestra sorpresa fue que desde la entrada no hubo un buen recibimiento, primero que nada llega un mesera y de una manera despota nos pregunta que qué vamos a querer de bebidas, pero como vamos a saber qué tomar si no nos entregaron menú de bebidas, bueno, lo pedimos y nos percatamos que tienen borrado los precios de los cockteles, lo cual se me hace increíble, como es posible que un “Restaurante” de esta gama no tenga los precios visibles, ni el tacto para tratar nuevos comensales, la verdad es que esa fue la gota que derramó el vaso, mal trato de los meseros, precios no visibles y pues el lugar no es ameno. Decidimos retirarnos. Definitivamente les recomiendo mejorar en esos puntos, hoy por hoy, como negocio si siguen así no durarán!, hay que echarle más ganas y poner los precios a su menú de bebidas.

Goofy, baffling experience, go to Miura instead if you’re already at this strip mall TL;DR: Mall Sushi tier pasty rice + This restaurant’s strategy is to neg customers with rude service to bait them into visiting again to see if this time they will get it “right”, like this is the late 80s in NYC. Perhaps it was my mistake for not reading past reviews and how they mostly agree that the staff is kinda rude, so the fact that they are indeed took me by surprise, considering the overall experiences I’ve had in Merida establishments throughout the years. You have to knock the door to get in, which is ok, whatever; from the get-go the guy that opens it greets you with a disdainful look. That’s whatever, still, everyone can have a bad day. Upon our “no” as an answer to “Do you have a reservation?”, they delegated us to the bar, even when the restaurant was empty. Judging by the other reviews of this place, this seems to be the daily bread at this place. Fresh off the beach my husband was wearing shorts too, maybe this was why (but they don’t have a dress code disclaimer anywhere, not even their socials) but other reviews mention that their clothes were not a determinating factor to still be sent to the bar gulag. The service overall is from indifferent to disdainful, so much that it seems like a deliberate decision by the corporate management to be able to replicate lame PUA tactics to neg the customers into liking this place through a faux sense of exclusivity. And the food…I do appreciate the effort of having a big menu + I’m sure the chef worked hard on creating every dish, but the rolls we got were mediocre, the rice was pasty and a little gummy, very similar to the average sushi you can find at any mall food court. The proteins didn’t feel particularly fresh either, that salmon is definitely from Costco. All and all, just go to Miura, the restaurant next to this one.Funnily enough, they’re both owned by the same company, I wonder if Yakuza sticks around just to make Miura seem like the best one.

They saw me once and never will see me again ! First of all you need to knock on the door several times for them to answer they put me in the bar while all the other tables where empty , bad service , just bad experience overall, just a wannabe high end sushi place .

After 2 visits here. The first walked in no reservation maybe 2 other tables in service. Service is very slow. Menu is a combination of spanish and japanese so very hard to translate. Food was good. Chairs extremely uncomfortable. Second visit. Restaurant was empty but they would not seat us because we didn't have a reservation. Will not be trying a third time.
