At 27 Restaurant & Bar, we invite you to experience the essence of Miami Beach's vibrant culture. Our private terrace, adorned with lush greenery and twinkling lights at night, sets the tone for an unforgettable evening. Our chef's carefully crafted dishes have earned rave reviews from locals and visitors alike. For one guest, a favorite Argentinean-inspired menu item stole the show. Meanwhile, attentive service, like Maria José's excellent attention to our group, has made us regulars.

Wow!!! Beautifully prepared and thoughtfully executed local foods with a lot of kick. We split the whole fried fish which is gluten free (“gf”) and served so it can easily be converted into fish tacos. The cocktails were great, the staff was friendly, the outdoor seating area was cozy and the menu gave great options for everyone. It is a short walk from the AC Marriott. Definitely worth a visit. Great local food more reasonably priced than some of the other local options.

Wow, we had such yummy food at 27 Restaurant! We are both vegetarian and we love how many veggie options they had on the menu. We tried the oyster mushrooms & malawach, kimchi fried rice, and papperdelle with garden pesto. The oyster mushrooms and the kimchi fried rice were our absolute favorite. Make sure to make a reservation before you go! And also get a drink at the bar next door, it’s super cute too. Next time we are in Miami we will come back!

Thanks to the Infatuation, I found this delightful restaurant during my stay in Miami. We sat in the garden courtyard that was beautifully designed into a tropical oasis. Airy, lush, and nicely-lit, this restaurant has all the great vibes you’re looking for. The inside was very nice as well! We had the mussels, short rib and kimchi fried rice. All of them were delectable. I think my favorite was the mussels which had corn, tomatoes and bacon in a mouthwatering sauce we soaked up with tasty toast.

This bar just reopened and truly encompasses everything Miami has been missing! The bar brings you back with an incredible atmosphere and great bar staff. I highly recommend stopping in for a drink or snack if you haven’t yet. The new renovations took Broken Shaker/Eagle Room to a new LEVEL!

The food and drinks were fantastic. We had lots of small dishes and a couple of entrees to share between our group of 4. Every dish was superb. Went to the Broken Shaker bar next door afterwards whose mixologist's really know their craft. Best bar in Miami to ask "surprise me" for your drink. Ours surprises did not disappoint.

Very pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. Inside it's a very nice atmosphere, a bit dark, but very nice styling. The music was all 80ies, but a very good selection! And lastly the food, it was great, nice kale and crispy chickpea salad, coffee ribs, fish and the cocktails were great as well!

The restaurant in general is fantastic - amazing food, friendly service, and beautiful ambience. But I specifically want to review for a special event we held at the restaurant. I worked with Paige, their events manager, to plan my wedding celebration dinner. Paige was very easy to work with and answered all of my questions promptly (I had A LOT of questions throughout the 2 months of planning). The dinner was supposed to be in the Secret Garden area but due to weather we had to move it indoors at the last minute. Paige and the restaurant staff didn't miss a beat. They ensured that we still had a beautiful, delicious celebration. The food was fantastic (as always) and the service was excellent - no one was waiting for a drink refill for more than a few minutes. We were 40 guests and I'm sure we were a lot to handle, but the staff did an excellent job. I highly recommend 27 Restaurant for your next event or for just a regular meal.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. I found this restaurant on Yelp and decided to give it a try... I come back whenever I have friends at home!! The restaurant is a house transformed into a restaurant. There is a backyard patio where having lunch is a pleasure. You have free access to the pool of the adjacent hotel, so it's 2x1. The food is absolutely delicious. I always go with the local fish sandwich. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! They use daily catches for the sandwich, so it can be different everytime. They serve it with a super spicy slaw that is the bomb. It's kind of pricy, but it's all well deserved.

One of my favorite meals in Miami. The Thai spicy muscles and jerk chicken were incredible. The sauce in the muscles is what really made it and we wanted more bread to soak it up. We asked for extra bread and they unexpectedly charged us for it. The mood lighting and decor really set the vibe as well. Would recommend having a reservation especially during Covid.

I've always been a fan of broken shaker bar at the freehand hotel and so I really wanted to check this place out. I gotta say, it was amazing!!! We were 6 of us and none of us were even slightly disappointed. Amazing service, amazing food and amazing ambiance! We repeated a few small bites and would highly recommend this place!!

Great place for a late night bite and drinks. The arepa appetizer comes with ropa vieja that is very flavorful and very juicy. It also comes with pico de gallo, aji, guacamole, and cheese. I highly recommend it. The drinks are well made and you can order bartender's choice. This place gets 5 stars but we do NOT recommend brunch. Update: a year later the arepa is still amazing and the burger is juicy, the bread is soft and fresh, and overall it is out of this world!

Fantastic experience at both the Broken Shaker and 27 Restaurant. Such a fun and unique vibe. Friendly and informative service. Drinks are delicious and the flavors of the food are unreal. Will come back again when in Miami Beach.

27 Restaurant and Bar is amazing! The food was superb and delicious. I love the variety and the family-style format. The cocktails are to die for! I recommend the Ginger Lime Mojito. Our waitress was extremely kind and very knowledgeable of all the plates and drinks.

Amazing hidden gem. We asked our server what was recommended and he set us up with the best 3 course me we habe EVER had! Down to the perfect tap beer and wine. Highly recommend asking your server to hook you up! Manager was super nice, stopped over just to ask us how we were. This place is the best reason to come to Miami Beach!

Even though we've been going to 27 for years, the menu always has some delightful surprise in store for us that never fails to be delicious (& why we always order way too much). That's because there's a garden on-site that inspires new dishes from season to season. Can't miss dishes: the griot & pikliz, the wahoo ceviche (when it's on offer) & the whole fried fish with the taco fixins! You won't be disappointed! They also have fabulous cocktails & a wonderful natural wine selection that complement the food exquisitely. And the service is professional & attentive, & if your server recommends something, trust them. They're not up-sellers, they just genuinely love the food & drinks they serve. What are you waiting for?? Drop everything & get a reservation now!!

The Kaman-chi rice was on point! Very good flavor! They need to add a protein with it like the chicken however for the rice and service I’ll give them a 5 star. Just beware they are two different restaurants in the building if you by the bar outside that’s more for lunch or bar food if you want dinner you have to go further inside make sure to specify what your there for.

Some real gems and some duds among apps, entrées, & desserts here. Appreciated vegan substitutes offered. Dim lighting crosses border from ambience to 'what am I eating?' Still probably most affordable food in the area. Waitstaff knowledgeable & amiable. (Busman slightly too eager to clear table after each course.) However, automatic tipping limits how much one can appreciate staff. All in all pleasant experience!

Wow! So happy we checked out this spot. The restaurant is set in a cosy old house with mixed and matched furniture and chairs and really well put together retro decor. Food was sooooo great! Falafels, Brussels sprouts & kimchi fried rice were incredible. Delicious cocktails (with the good ice!) Staff at the restaurant and the Broken Shaker bar were very friendly and accommodating. Super great experience. Will definitely make a point to return next time we’re in the area.

Overall, nice food selection and tasty menu options would definitely go back. This is a restaurant located inside the freehand hotel. When you walk in you'll notice the fantastic decor and ambiance making this a great place to hangout with friends or go on a date. There were tons of great sounding dishes on the menu. I loved the Kimchi fried rice and you should definitely order this if you have the chance. The cocktails were delicious probably the best I had while I was in Miami for the week.

Hugo was our head server and Carolina was running the door. They (and all the staff) were wonderful, and the food and drinks were delicious. I especially enjoyed the kale salad, arepas, and the Half Baked Spritz (try a buzz button!). The seasoning on the lamb ribs was awesome. The atmosphere was warm and charming. Thank you for a lovely birthday!

A

The food was very delicious and prepared in very creative ways - we loved the cauliflower with pistachio, for example. We also really liked the eggplant, the octopus and the catch of the day. The natural wines are not my thing - they did warn us that it’s an acquired taste, which I really appreciated but we tried anyways :) lovely place, totally recommend stopping by.

Since it open it’s doors pre COVID the menu at 27 has been always delicious. Some Manu items have been replaced and are dearly missed like the Kale salad. The atmosphere is fantastic and service is friendly. But one thing to watch out for is the 20% AUTO GRATUITY on every bill as there is a line for tip and if you don’t pay attention you might be double tipping.

27 Restaurant is an old 2 story house turned into a restaurant and bar. The atmosphere is eclectic and unique. The food is amazing! We were a group of 6 and ordered almost one of everything on the menu and nothing was disappointing! They have their own herb garden where ingredients are picked fresh. The "backyard" has a pool area and backs up to another small hotel that has another bar that serves some creative drinks! If you're in Miami Beach, this is a must stop in my opinion. Very cool spot. Laid back, not trendy or flashy.

Family farmhouse aesthetic inside. Staff seems to be invested in providing a quality experience. Our cocktails were interesting and delicious. We had the Thai muscles which were quite good and a "whole" fried snapper which was also tasty but overpriced for a dish that is essentially fried fish bites served with tortillas. We also ordered the shrimp shumai which have an impressive presentation and were so good we were still talking about them when we left. I'm excited to come back and check out the rest of the menu. 27 restaurant provides a high service/dining standard compared to other similarly priced restaurants on miami beach

I was tired and weary after being caught up in a storm and the beautiful people of this wonderful place sat me down and suggested a delicious Sophia’s Margarita and a truly wonderful burger that brought me back to my senses. Special thanks to Jamie! The service was great, human, special. A gem!

My husband and I stopped in for dinner. We were sat at a high top because we didn’t make a reservation. So for the TRUE atmospheric make a reservation. Our waitress was Genesis. She was fantastic. We had the lamb app. It was so delicious. The flavors they combine are unbelievable. The skirt steak was so tender chewing was barely necessary it just melted in your tongue. The plates are cleared promptly. If your in the area must try

We couldn’t fault our visit to 27 Restaurant & Bar. On approach, we were somewhat apprehensive, at first glance it’s hard to know how to get in to the restaurant itself. Walking though a dimly lit hotel lobby, past their pool area and in to the restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised by what awaited us. The staff were all incredibly friendly and guided us through both the food menu and cocktail list. Based primarily on a small dish/sharing basis, we found three to four dishes the perfect amount for 2-people. Provided with complimentary chips and salsa to thank us for visiting after the brief closure due to hurricane Irma, we were made to feel like one of the locals, were it not for the cocktails packing more of a punch than we expected (not necessarily a bad thing), we could quite easily have stayed further in to the evening. Already planning our second visit, the 27 Restaurant and Bar is highly recommended.

A hidden gem! I enjoyed dinner last night and Michael, my waiter, was terrific. There are so many cultures and flavors represented on the menu that I asked Michael to help me pick — and he didn’t disappoint. I had the oyster mushrooms and the kimchi fried rice and the flavors were incredible. Definitely recommend this place!

One of the best dining experiences ever. Hugo our server recommend the drinks and the food, I highly recommend this option. The coliflower app was awesome. The kimchi rice is totally out of this world different and recommended. The French omelet is unexpectedly a great combo. Leave room for dessert. A local favorite make sure you make reservations.

This restaurant is amazing. The food is incredible and our server Jamie made the experience a 12/10. One of our guests has an anaphylactic nut allergy and was super concerned as we hadn't had the best experiences in Miami so far with explaining allergies/feeling heard by servers. Jamie made us feel super comfortable and explained that she had made the chef aware and listed all items that would be safe for us to share as a group. She was so much fun, so attentive and really just made our night!! Thank you Jamie!! We ordered several appetizers and mains and every dish was DELISH!! We were a bachelorette group of 10 ladies. The vibe was perfect to kick off our evening.

I had the privilege of eating at Restaurant 27 today and it was an amazing experience. Jessica is the manager at the restaurant and she runs a tight ship, the tables were cleaned quickly, the food came out in a timely manner and the wait staff was extremely friendly. I would highly recommend the ceviche. 10/10 would recommend.

We came here for a birthday dinner, while service sometimes can be spotty - the food was wonderful! The chickpea marsala and the pesto cauliflower were my favorites. Also the whole snapper. Its such a cool place - I love the architecture and decor. I felt like we were in the northeast somewhere. What a gem of a property in the middle of all the high rises !

L

Consistently one of the best meals in Miami. The food never misses, the service is always chill and comfortable, and the energy of the space is perfect. Great for intimate date nights with someone else or even yourself. Some current favorites: the broccolini, bbq plantains, and the jerk chicken pot pie.

O

Eat brunch outside....you won’t regret it. Food comes out in waves, as it’s ready, so you need to be ready to relax and graze on some absolutely amazing food. The chicken Eggs Benedict was A+++ (that biscuit!) and the breakfast tacos hit the spot. Service was incredibly friendly. Excellent way to start the day.

C

This restaurant had a chill vibe. The inside had nice low ambient lighting and it feels like a home that’s been converted to a restaurant. We didn’t realize it was family style until the waitress told us. That was okay with us, but it’s something you should know, especially if you’re going with unfamiliar company. The prices were reasonable for both drinks and food, and the food was delicious. A great little spot that we will visit again.

C
Caroline O.

Definitely make a reservation. Came here for brunch and had a great experience. The food was very good, the service was great, and the environment is funky and cute. Would recommend only if you’re in the mood for something casual - the restaurant is in a hostel and that vibe definitely shines through.

The restaurant interior was very cozy, intimate and homey. We absolutely loved the historic home setting and decor. Food was fantastic too - the tahini oyster mushrooms were very complex and flavorful. Had the mussels as a main and loved the curry flavor twist! Also highly recommend the BBQ plantains :) Service was very warm too!

Crazy this place hasnt blown up yet. The atmosphere is so good, hidden in the hotel, past the pool, and with 2 floors. Beer is cheap and vibes are good. The 2 floors are massive and its gonna be such a good spot in the summer

Fantastic food and unique atmosphere. Not sure why this is only a 4.1 but definitely a must visit. We had the lamb shank, ceviche and shrimp dumplings. Exceptionally flavourful, good portion sizes and attention to detail. Would recommend to any foodie visiting Miami.

Great tasting food. Their menu is petite which I love because that usually means that places use extremely fresh food because they don’t have to keep hundreds of items stored there. Their portions are also surprisingly very generous. All the staff we interacted with were very kind and helpful especially our server Hugo and the hostess. Decor is beautiful and the drinks also taste very good. They even put a candle on my wife’s dessert because it was her birthday and we didn’t even ask them to do that which was cute. I’ll definitely be going back

J
Joe Pendarvis (Bayou Boston)

We are from Boston visiting the area but not guests of the hotel, and after reading some of these reviews I was nervous about our booking. But listen folks, it’s very good and we didn’t have any issues. I am thinking that some people give out vibes and get them back as they should. The food was amazing! Best yucca we’ve ever had. Octopus was excellent. Burger very good. Shrimp shumai was superb. Wait staff very attentive. So many people were there laughing, talking, and having a grand time. After dinner we walked over to the Broken Shaker and had 2 amazing drinks. We found chairs to sit in by the pool and listened to 80’s music and soaked it all in.

C
Clemen 117

Very loud venue made it hard for conversation, but all else made it a great dinner. It’s a super nice environment and fun speakeasy. We had the chicken “spread” which was super flavorful. The patacones labelled as a smaller plate was a larger portion than expected. Overall one of the best experiences on the beach. Definitely advice reserving in advance especially if you’re looking to be seated outside.

Quirky and dark. Decent selection of drinks. On the pricey side for sure for drinks for a divey bar. Limited (basic) bar food fare. Great decorum to fill the space. Good Service.

Cute and quaint place for brunch! Took some out of town guests here and they loved it! The food was amazing, everyone loved their meal. The seating outside is lovely, the only thing I would comment on would be the uncomfortable small metal chairs. I felt like I barely fit on the chair and I'm a small-average sized person! Cocktails are great at an affordable price of $12.

Excellent food, service, and eclectic decor. Came early on a Sunday, so a bit quiet but can't complain. Lovely table outside and still a good vibe.

Change my rating from 5 to 4 after having dinner there. The service wasn't good this time. We waited an hour for the "Falafel", all the other stuff we ordered arrived 30 minutes after we ordered them (appetizers), they forgot to bring our utensils and for some reason one guy filled my cup of water every couple of minutes (only mine and not my wife's) even though we had a water bottle on the table. The food however was still wonderful. We ordered the Falafel, Cauliflower, Mushroom and Malawach - all were great. The bread pudding dessert was pretty bad though. Here is my old review: Greate place with fun service and amazing food and drinks. אחלה מקום, שירות מעולה ומתאים לוייב של ישראלים. אוכל מקומי אם טוויסטים ישראליים (הבעלים הוא ישראלי) וקוקטיילים טעימים- מאד מומלץ. I was in the area looking for a quick lunch and a cocktail, and got here because of the google map- rating, reviews and photos. To my very pleasant surprise they had a brunch menu with more wonderful stuff. We ordered the Shakshuka and the Fish Sandwich (I loved the Shakshuka). I also drank the Mango Macho which was great (could be better with less ice and more drink 🤔). It was relatively not expensive, and I would definitely come back for the lunch/dinner menu. Extra: the paper placemats have a list of other great places to visit.

M
Matthew Lee

Food is very good and prices are pretty reasonable. Service was good, so I think that they got the message from previous poor reviews. Our server even made a joke about it. The decor is very interesting. All that being said, I'm probably not going to make the effort to come back unless I'm in the area. So I'd give it 3.5 stars, but I'm rounding up to 4.

This is a very cozy and dark restaurant inside, would be perfect for a date. We ordered the patacon which is fried platain with guacamole. The guacamole was fresh and little bit spicy, but very tasty. Also, the summer salad which was not good at all. Most of the leaves were very sour, I couldn't eat half of it. However, Our waiter was very warm and knowledgeable about the items on the menu. We asked him so many questions trying to decide on a dish and he patiently explained everything. Overall, would definitely come back, but will not get the salad.

I was having diner with friends at this restaurant. I will tell you honestly I expected something better than it turned out later. Laid back service leaves a lot to be desired , you can see that they don't care abut the customer. We order so much food and everything was delicious. I think the restaurant is overrated. Although it is worth to see for yourself coming here.

J
Jeanette Rodriguez (jrodi777)

A wonderful surprise with great ambiance, lighting, settings, and location. Each part of this place is it's own experience. Great tasting drinks from the mixology specialists. The food can be a bit pricey but tasty. The octopus was quite a full plate about a month ago but now not so enticing with just four small pieces and mostly potatoes. I do have to say I mentioned it to the manager. He took care of us. The dish was on the house with a round of drinks. He had mentioned that he noticed a bit of skimpiness on the octopus dish. He said he'd talk to the chef. The rest of the evening went really great and enjoyable. I will definitely visit again.

B
Bright Line

The food was delicious. The layout was really nice and cozy. It was a little more pricey than i was expecting, but my only real complaint is that it was too dark (we ate there at night) which was really an issue because we had the fish tacos that came out with a whole yellow snapper that needed boned. Which seems like a kinda-bad idea anyway. In the dark it didn't work well at all. I'll end with: the fish was absolutely amazing. And so were the house made fixin's

I stopped in for drinks. The outdoor seating area was nice. It was pretty nippy out (58 degrees at night)so I decided against dining in. Maybe if they had outdoor heaters that would have helped me try out the food. But on a normal day it appears it would be a great place to try.

Went here for brunch. The food was great and the service was good. Only gripe was that it took about 5 minutes for the woman at the reception to even acknowledge our existence. She was on the phone, but didn't even make eye contact when i was just stood there waiting. Over all a good experience though. The ambience is nice and the decor is very quaint.

Took a chance and tried this place out for my daughter's birthday. The appetizers were great. Had the whole snapper unfortunately I forgot to take a pic. For a Haitian spot I think there might have been a Jamaican in the kitchen lol. My friend who said he originally came from Philly was a great character he certainly added to my families dining experience.

Our visit to 27 was pretty good. We made reservations and were asked to be seated inside or outside. We sat outside due to being cautious of COVID. The vibe inside was super cool though! Our server seemed a bit out of it because she asked if we wanted any appetizers after our latkes were served and we finished them. Our drinks came late after our appetizer. We had a glass of wine and a coco old fashion which was very good! We were disappointed when we went to order and the server said they were out of lasagna and chicken pot pie. (2 out of the six entrees). We both ordered kimchi fried rice and an order of Brussels sprouts (which also somehow we got the last order at around 6:30pm?). The eggs on the kimchi rice were perfect and the dish was super good! The brussels were about average and very good. This restaurant is right next to a hostel pool so many people were coming over asking to get a drink or something which was a bit distracting to dinner. All in all we would eat here again. I just wish they had their full menu. The prices were also above average but on par for Miami Beach.

There is something very quaint about this restaurant, but there are definitely some issues. The food was good although some dishes tasted a bit off. The atmosphere was fun but the servers seemed stretched. Long wait time in between dishes. Some of the highlights were the hummus and the broccolini over Labne and the Chardonnay by the glass was quite delicious. The staff was incredibly nice don't get me wrong they just didn't seem to have the time to give us service that we would rave about. Something was off about the cauliflower in the pickle dish... the club upstairs is adorable if you're up for that kind of thing, bar and dance floor combo on the second floor.

Delicious cocktails. Fine dinner menu. A little dark inside even for me. Couple more lights to show off the place I'd say.

Didn't have food, only drinks, was reasonable for Miami, and a nice setting

This place looks like you are just visiting your old family house. The food is different, fresh and tastes very good. Great portions. Nice selection of interesting, non-obvious wines. Service was a bit slow and inattentive, but not critical. If you wan to try something different in Miami - that’s the place!

4 stars for delicious food & cute setting. Went there for a group dinner, mandatory setup fee plus designated server fee! Its just a normal long table & ordinary service like any average restaurant. $355 bill for one mojito punch bowl by the pool (very nice vibe & crowded on Friday night. Pricey!!

Jacob was our server and he was great. We tried the Miami spice menu and the options were good.

Really nice spot to go for dinner. The ambiance is just magical and the food is really good. The service was very attentive. I highly recommend the yogurt-tahini massaged kale that was very light and fresh, the oyster mushroom with the malawach were also a good mix. You can order the catch of the day and eat it in fish tocos.

Buen ambiente! La comida estuvo bien, pero la atención que recibimos de Maria José hizo la experiencia aún mejor.

Went for the Miami Spice Menu. Overall: The food was nice and the restaurant was very cute, but it was too expensive and too much of a hassle to do again. I don’t see myself coming back. The food was well made but uninspired. Service could have been better. Was disappointed in the mushrooms and Panna cotta, but the meat was good. Tres leches was good

Atmosphere is really vibrant and cool, but the food was just okay. I had the cauliflower with the pistachio pesto. Cauliflower was watery and the oil was separating from the pesto. The flavor was very parmesan forward. I was really hoping the pistachio would come through more. My partner had the octopux paella, which was a very small portion for the price and on the oily side. Octopus was salty. The rice portion of the dish was really flavorful though - the saffron and wine really comes through. Overall, I didn't think this restaurant was worth what they charged for the food. We left spending almost $80 for the two dishes, 1 bottled water, and a tea (even though mine was technically an appetizer and we didn't have alcohol).

Check your receipt before you pay. They tried to add an open food special $75 to our check. In the biz so I noticed that, even though we had a few drinks. When I went to say something, they just took the check out of my hands and fixed it without me even saying what the problem was. They knew what they did. Still gave them 3 stars cause the food was good. Just don't like being taken advantage of. Been here a few times, first time it happened, but still obviously not happy about it. Double check your check/ticket before dropping your card !!

Went back on a Thursday after a very long time here and was very disappointed. Place was almost empty. The meh food was made even more unappetizing by the rudest waiter (giorgio), who could not even distinguish between shared plates and brought us stale, warm Sauvignon blanc then basically yelled at us mid-convo to sign the bill so he could be done and take his undeserved 20% gratuity. Had he actually had some common sense and respect to explain that he needed to go/close that would have would been understandable. 27 Train your staff please!

Menu is interesting but not remarkable. Its extremely overpriced for what it is even by Miami standards. Service was inattentive, took the order, brought the food and disappeared! Surprisingly hard to get attention to even pay the bill. Only decided to try it since it's close to my friend's house. For the price, go get a real Miami experience and much better service at hakkasan, nobu etc.

We are in the area for the week and decided to give 27 a try after reading mostly positive reviews. We both enjoyed a lemon based cocktail which was delicious, falafel, and mussels for the entree. The cocktails and food were great. Giving 3 stars because our dessert was forgotten and the server neglected to check back after courses to ensure that we had everything we needed. We were disappointed due to the lack of good service we expected to come along with this price point and good reviews.

Went here for dinner. The food is quite good but I found it to be pretty expensive for what you get. As soon as we sat down we were offered bottled water in a way that made it seem like it was the only option. The fish tacos were pretty salty and ended up costing 65 dollars, as the price was not disclosed on the menu. I found the service to be overly intrusive. It seemed like every five minutes someone was checking our cups and looking to clear our plates. And it was not that busy. The staff acted like it was a privilege to eat here. That being said my cocktail was amazing. Bottom line, if you have money to spend, go here for good but we'll overpriced food (though definitely not amazing by my standards) and outstanding ambiance. Otherwise I'd stick to the bar upstairs for drinks (and happy hour) or go to the bar next door outside at the hostel for the same ambiance.

Slightly disappointing. On the plus side, the service was good, beer was good, and seats were comfortable. On the down side, the lighting was too dim and the food was barely acceptable. I ate the whole fried fish which was recommended by our server, who was lovely, but the dish itself was dry and lacked flavour. Any worse and I would have sent it back, and in hindsight I regret not doing.

Even taste is so good, we were the only guest. Restaurant was so calm, nobody was there. We had difficulties to find the restaurant first. The location and guidance would be better. There isn’t any attraction around there. Inside is extremely better than outside. Music would be better. Portions are small. Price is high. Seats would be more comfortable.

O
Odell Nails

Insanely overpriced for the portions you get. I'm writing this review after my party of three (including a 10 year old) was charged way to much for dinner, and now my girlfriend and her son are sitting here eating Hagen Daaz ice cream bars and cheddar cheese goldfish because they're still hungry. The experimental take on chicken pot pie missed all the notes of doughy comfort that dish is supposed to provide, and instead replaced it with no pie crust and a vinegar after taste that was beyond strange. The Kimchi fried rice dish was bland. The table of three next to us ordered the two expensive market price fish dishes and were also totally dissappointed. We have no idea what all these good reviews are about but don't let them fool you too.

Very disappointing. Decided to try this place after reading a positive review from the Infatuation, but the food was totally underwhelming and the service was not great either. They are apparently known for their great cocktails, but mine was sickly sweet. We tried 3 appetizers and I’m certainly glad we didn’t order anything else. First, the Griot & Pikliz, which our waiter said was his favorite thing on the menu. The flavor was nice but that pork was bone DRY, so dry I had to take a sip of water to get it down. The slaw it was served with was fine, but it really needed a sauce or something to bring some moisture. Second, the crudo of the day was pretty good and definitely the best thing we had, but not memorable. Third, the cauliflower. Oh boy, this dish was one of the worst things I’ve had in a restaurant lately. It tasted like they had basically boiled the head of cauliflower and then put some curry spices on it. I love cauliflower when prepared properly, but there was no caramelization or crispness to this — it was just mush. And totally lacking in flavor, the curry was so mild I barely noticed it was there. We were planning to order a main dish to finish out the meal, but after the poor performance from the appetizers, we just decided to leave. Wish we had just gone for drinks at the Broken Shaker next door instead. On top of the food, the service was disappointing as well. We showed up to the main entrance of the Freehand hotel, since this is where our directions sent us. We were told that we couldn’t get to the restaurant that way, but would have to walk around the block to the entrance on 27th street. We walk to 27th street, but don’t find an entrance there either — although we can see into the restaurants patio, it is gated off. We finally ask a landscaper working outside where the entrance is, and he leads us to an unmarked and unassuming door on Indian Creek Drive. Walking back and forth trying to find the place is not a great way to begin the experience, especially since we realized that the restaurant is in fact connected to the hotel where we initially walk in. There were other minor annoyances through out the meal which I probably would have ignored if the food had been good. But it wasn’t. Bottom line, save your money and eat some where else.

Waaaaay too overpriced. SKIP SKIP SKIP! I get it, this is a place where you want to get away from all the fancy schmancy restaurants that require dress codes and are uppity bippity. But the prices shouldn’t follow like that. This is back alley way robbery. We ordered the ceviche and ribeye meal. The ceviche was $22 and quite small. It was very good don’t get me wrong. But you might as well journey to Ceviche by Divino and get the $23 dollar ceviche that includes calamari and those large corn kernels. Way more authentic. And larger portion I might add. Then comes the crime, the ribeye. First of all, it was 75 dollars for 12 ounces. Um what? It came with potatoes and broccoli rabe. Dry, no sauce potatoes and mundane broccoli rabe literally just sautéed with nothing. NOTHING. For $75, give me something a little less boring. That’s like the most generic combo in America and you’re charging $75 dollars. The ribeye at our hotel had a ribeye dinner for $30 that had chimmichurri and sides that actually had some elbow grease put into it. You talking bout $75 dollars for something a random mama could make in her sleep. Are you joking me? Let me repeat so you know the gravity of the upcharge. $75 dollars for rib-nothing special-eye. NOTHING SPECIAL. And for a $75 dollar ribeye order, the waiter didn’t even ask how we’d like the steak done. He took the order and left. We had to call him back and tell him to tell the damn chef to have it be medium. Holy Toledo. No, I must let the people know. You can SKIP this spot. Please skip this if you want value. This is pound for pound highway robbery. Unless you’re a sucker for ambience. In which case, sure, spend that money like that.

Somewhat overrated. Fun and funky space for a restaurant that serves adequate food, but nothing more. Wait-staff is friendly and helpful but inexperienced, with many interruptions from a disparate crew that does not know what their team is doing or has done. The wine list is truly atrocious. They were kind enough to allow us to taste three wines before purchasing a bottle. We drank beer, as the wines really we not very good. Organic or standard wine, they were terrible. Not a place to return to.

First time that I really need to write such a negative review. 1/5 stars is too much for this place. Food is here very overpriced, dishes so small and so far away from what it should be, that one feel robbed. If the guest orders steak, he expects steak and not tiny and thin peace of marinated meat with mashed potato. Atmosphere is weird, guests need their mobile phones to read the menu cause light is extremely low, half of the menu is cryptic, stuff was somehow stumbling upon each other, like they are competing who will do what ... I can not imagine going back there and I wouldn't recommend anyone to go...

Not worth the hype. Reserved an inside table in advance and was sat outside in the rain. Our server was excellent. However, our $49 bottle of wine could very well have been from Walgreens. The menu was eclectic but poor. Scorched muschrooms, dry cauliflower and “arepas” that were more or less thick tacos. Would not recommend.

I would have liked to write about the food at 27 Restaurant but we never got to try it. The cocktails beforehand were artistic if overall earthy and of similar note. The outdoor setting was beautiful. We were there for a bachelorette party and very much looking forward to this dinner. We arrived at 27 at exactly our reservation time. Our table wasn’t ready and we were told it would be 10-15 minutes. This was fine. We went upstairs for another cocktail. 20 minutes later we inquired about the delay to our hostess. She said it was because we were an hour late for our reservation. We showed her our open table reservation confirming we arrived exactly on time. She was unapologetic. After another 10 minutes passed, I went to the hostess stand to let the manager know something was wrong in their system. She was extremely unapologetic and visibly annoyed saying she couldn’t help that another table hadn’t left. We waited another 15 minutes and finally told the hostess stand we were leaving. It was an incredibly disappointing and frustrating service experience. Grateful that another neighboring restaurant was able to get us in, albeit and hour later than we had intended to eat dinner. The manager on duty that night was the stand out. She appeared annoyed to be talking to me, and send her staff to tell us their mistake was our fault then doubled down and seemed to not care at all that 45 minutes after our reservation we still had no sign of being seating. Very disappointing.

Don’t waste your time going here. All this talk about the uniqueness of this place, but the service is horrible. I waited over 30 minutes for me entra and no one came to explain why. I got up and asked, but i had to go to Broken Shaker to ask!! A lot of excuses. As I did they show up with my main dish. Wow! What timing! God knows how long that was sitting there. A good restaurant will offer you a new dish. I waited and so did a lot of other patrons long enough. I paid $20 for my wine and left. Never waste your time here. I think I need to start writing Infuation bc I normally like their recommendations, but no way in hell.

This was our second time at 27 Restaurant. Two years ago we experienced terrible service which ended up with them comping our cocktails and main courses. However the food was great and we wanted to give a second chance, due to the great reviews Unfortunately this time the service was even worse. The place was very busy but we were seated as per our reservation. Our server was attentive and recommended an off-menu cocktail. The first course arrived and it was good. Then things started to go wrong. We couldn't find anyone to top up our water or provide us with more drinks. Chaos around us. We tried to find our server and when we eventually did he informed us it was due to a large wedding upstairs. He said that the kitchen were behind. Our reservation was for 9pm. We got our main (Arepas Platter, which we were advised to share) at just after 10.30. This time around it was good but that was all. I'm sure any Cuban place (even Havana 1957) would have done better. The whole place was so busy that going to use the restroom was an impossibility. Long queues and only one facility in the restaurant. The clientele were varied but we were seated near a group of bozos downing shots. If we wanted that we'd go to the Clevelander. We didn't want to chance dessert even though we were still hungry, and our server offered to comp it. He also didn't charge us for drinks and main meal. We are not complainers. In fact check out my other ratings and you'll see we have had great experiences elsewhere on this trip. We come to Miami once a year and we want good food, ambience and service. In all other cases we get this. Twice at 27 it's been terrible. We gave them a second chance but there won't be a third. We won't be back again.

Well, unfortunately I've to update my review. October 30th 2020. We were super excited to come back to our favorite place after the lock down, but despite the service and location are amazing as always I need to said that, we order almost the same food as always plus a recommendation from our server. So, everything was burned, bread super salty and burned, they changed some dishes from devine to not good at all... So, we didn't enjoy a single dish and we took five of them... I sadly write this negative review in order to make you guys improving your menù, I really love this place, the atmosphere, the service, and the food "before", so I hope you guys will improve the menù, so that I will be exited to come back and modify again this review... I will give a try again in a month, let's see... Lovely as always, wonderful energy, great food and service... If you are in Miami, you must visit it!

Definitely gone downhill. Used to live across the street last year and had some great meals there but I visited last week for Miami Spice menu and everything is pretty bad. Carbonara pasta was served cold and with zero taste and the flan was really gross. Such a pity to see such a cool spot serve such appalling food. And over $120 w no drinks for 2 people…. Would have been more fulfilled having a $3 protein bar
