Stopped here the night before leaving for a cruise. Didn’t know what to expect. This place was fantastic. Delicious sangria. Had the oxtail. Rich and tender! Sauce was out of this world! Lechon was delicious as well. Ordered the flan de queso. Yum! Our waiter also brought us a toncinillo del cielo. It was so custardy, silky and smooth. Sweet and delicious. Manuel was so helpful in helping us decide what to eat and super friendly! Two thumbs up for Manuel!!

Only in Miami! All the way from Utah - enjoyed everything from the complimentary bread to Their 3 course Nonna special - which included salad or soup. And entree and choice of 2 sides. The value is amazing. To top things off you have a choice of dessert. We loved the Tres Leches and Rice Pudding. Manuel was provided excellent service and he knew about BYU football - plus for my hubbie! Would recommend- lots of other authentic Cuban dishes - you can tell made with pride and love.

We stumbled on this amazing restaurant just a few blocks from our hotel and wow, we are so glad we did! Manuel made our experience complete perfection - starting with the the mojitos to the Empanadas de Rabo, followed by the Vaca Frita de Res & the Lechon Asado, we were sooo happy! Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, we asked Manuel to surprise us with a dessert and out came 2 amazing flans! This was a great start to our “Montana to Miami” experience ☺️ top notch - thank you Manuel!

Can’s restaurant because I was staying nearby and I was in the mood for some good octopus mainly because I seen pictures… I want them into my delight. Got a nice version of piña colada obviously got the octopus which was surprisingly flavorful. I didn’t think that it would be enough, but after I finish the plate, I actually got full. That was all before my main course which was steak and eggs I end up taking that to go. The backwards thing about it was I thought I’d be getting one steak and two actually got two steaks and one egg which is great. I felt like the bill was fairly priced and the service was amazing. I drove myself and I’ll definitely be back next time. I’m in Miami staying next to the airport.

This is a must visit restaurant! We are in town for vacation and we will be back again! The food was incredible, Manuel was a devoted server and we have not experienced service at this caliber for quite some time and helped refer different options based on what we said we like.

Had a small leisure trip to Miami for some museums and sight seeing. Out of every place we visited for food, this place was the best. The service was phenomenal and the food was outstanding. I got the masitas, and the rest of my group got the camarones al ajillo, a liver dish, and the steak salad. All of it was great. Super tasty cocktails. Everything looked gorgeous as well. Not sure when I'll be back to Miami, but if you're visiting, I highly recommend La Rosa!

We recently visited La Rosa with my family, and it was fantastic! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the food was delicious, the service was excellent too! Our server was friendly and helpful. Overall, this restaurant was a wonderful choice for a family lunch or dinner. We loved the food and can't wait to go back! Highly recommend it for anyone craving traditional Cuban food!

My good friend Vince is a regular guest, but this was my first visit. La Rosa is beautifully and tastefully decorated with a lovely patio for outside diners. I ordered the shrimp Caesar salad, which was beautifully presented in addition to being delicious. Vince ordered scrumptious chicken Cuban style, which was large enough for two meals. I'll definitely return on my next Miami visit!

Excellent atmosphere and welcoming staff! I felt right at home and was amazed by the quality of service and care. I cannot wait to come back to celebrate my birthday. Also, the food was outstanding. Be sure to go straight home after for a good Nights rest. Best drink I’ve ever had absolutely loved it.

This place came highly recommended by the hotel staff at Holiday Inn. We went in search of great, authentic Cuban fare and we were rewarded with fantastic food, great service and a grand time! Our server made great recommendations and the four of us got different menu items and were pleased with the incredible flavors and awesome presentation of the dishes. The food was hot and fresh and plentiful, too. A great place for enjoying wonderful Cuban cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere.

La Rosa Restaurant is a true gem in Miami. From the moment I walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere made me feel right at home. The service here is fantastic – the staff is friendly and attentive, making sure you have everything you need. Let’s talk about the food. I started with the Papas Rellenas de Carne, which were crispy on the outside and filled with deliciously seasoned meat. They were absolutely amazing. The garlic shrimp with piquillo peppers sauce and grilled ciabatta bread was another standout – the flavors were incredible and perfectly balanced. And the Tostones? Perfectly fried and so addictive. For the main course, I went with the Ropa Vieja. It was tender, juicy, and packed with authentic Cuban flavors. To top it all off, I enjoyed a Classic Margarita that was just right – not too sweet, not too strong, just perfect. The ambiance of La Rosa is vibrant and cozy, making it a great spot for any occasion, whether it’s a casual dinner or a special night out. The combination of amazing food, excellent service, and a welcoming environment makes La Rosa Restaurant a standout choice in Miami. I’d definitely come back for more – it’s a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy the best of Cuban cuisine. La Rosa Restaurant exceeded my expectations in every way. Highly recommended!

What a nice find! The food was fresh, great taste, reasonably priced. Service was excellent. Food was hot. I have to assume family run. Some excellent recipes. I had sword fish that was very tasty! Wife loved the yucca. The desserts were to die for. Mine was so rich I could not finish it. A rarity. Highly recommend this little gem.

I can't believe I've never been here before because this place is one of the oldest Cuban restaurants in South Miami by MIA. It has a lot of history since they have been open since 1968 but don't be discouraged by its age because the space is updated and modern. The food is refined Cuban classics accompanied by craft cocktails. We started with the Empanadas de Rabo (oxtail) and these were bursting with flavor and piping hot. The out shell was perfectly crisp too. We also go the Pulpo La Rosa which was also perfectly cooked. Not rubbery. For the main entrees, we ordered the Tob Sirloin Butt and the Cordero al Vino Both were impressive. The steak was nicely grilled and the lamb shank was fall of the bone. Both were juicy too. If I was to choose my fave, I'll go for the Lamb Shank again. For dessert, we opted for the Crema Catalana which was a Cuban-style Creme Brulee. Dam it was very delicious. Not too sweet and the caramelized top was crunchy. A perfect ending to a satisfying dinner. Also, we ordered a couple of rounds of drinks. I got the old-fashioned and my friend got the blueberry mojito. Trust me, you will be impressed by the presentation as they served both smoked inside a glass dome. Love this place from the service, and ambiance to the high-quality food. This is a great spot for a celebration with friends or family or even a romantic date. It truly rivals super high-end restaurants and you dont have to spend an arm and a leg. Just bring your appetite :)

La Rosa in Miami was great. Super chill; our server (Pipo) was fantastic. We had the $25.99 camarones enchilados meal deal. Delicious and filling - we couldn’t finish it. If we lived in the area, we’d be regulars.

Food, atmosphere and service were all outstanding. Pipo waited on us and couldn’t have been better. Have tried several Cuban places in Miami and this is the best experience yet. You can’t go wrong if you’re looking for a quality dining experience.

We stopped in here after a long flight, STARVING! The portions did not disappoint, and got to try some food like we don’t get back home. Fast, attentive service, and the fancy drinks were great. I had a Canchànchara and an after-dinner drink involving coffee and Cuban brandy. ¡Salud!

Authentic & Delicious! Staying at the nearby Marriott, easy walk. Greeted by friendly staff, served very quickly. Love the atmosphere. Now lets talk about the food! So many options that looked wonderful. Chose the Taro Soup, Masitas and Tres Leches with a Mojito to sip along this heavenly journey. Pure dining enjoyment. Thank you!

Everything was delicious, highly recommend the carne con papas and the Cuban crème brûlée, although everything we tried was delicious. One night in Miami before or after a cruise, go here for authentic Cuban cuisine. Manuel was awesome!!

The most amazing Cuban (actually any type) food you could imagine. We’re from Chicago which is known for great food but these flavors (Masitas/Fricase de pollo) are amazing!!! And don’t forget the flan for dessert! If you’re staying by Miami airport stop by and ask for Manuel. He won’t steer you wrong. Outstanding, 10 stars if I it was an option!

2/17/2026 The food here is amazing. Great Cuban food, somewhat elevated albeit, on the pricey side. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside, but the inside decor is very nice, allegorical to Cuba without going over the top. There's a cute outdoor area on the side as well. My only complaint here is service. I am not sure if I just happened to come on a bad day, but our waitress seemed a bit distracted and very slow and although there were other employees standing around, none offered help. Bottom line our food was cold and our water glasses were empty for a long while. If I am going to pay premium $, I certainly expect good service.

THE FIRST CUBAN RESTAURANT IN MIAMI, WITH THE SOUL OF 1960s HAVANA I am an Australian, but a frequent visitor to both Miami and Havana, involved in both places as a Professor of Medicine and a Lecturer in Anthropology. I left Havana in 2023, and today was the first time I truly savored the kind of Cuban cuisine I had grown used to in La Habana—a few notches higher in elegance and sophistication than most Cuban-American restaurants in Miami. I was transported back to the many dinners and long conversations in the halls of Havana, and I deeply enjoyed the nostalgia evoked by the cuisine of 1960s Cuba. This cherished culinary tradition is kept alive at La Rosa Restaurant, founded in 1968 by people from the province of Matanzas. I don’t think you’ll find malanga soup with such refined taste anywhere else. I had the grilled fish, and my companion enjoyed vaca frita after his salad. And how can a Cuban meal be complete without Caviar Cubano—frijoles negros, the black beans? I closed my eyes while sipping the black bean soup and could feel the breeze from the Malecón (my apartment was near the Malecón). The dessert took us both by surprise. I had Cuban natilla, reminiscent of crema catalana or crème brûlée—every morsel was delicious. My companion had arroz con leche, a melt-in-the-mouth kind of delight. My stomach was satisfied, my mind coated in the warm nostalgia of my recent life in Havana, and I felt spiritually connected to the rich history of that island just south of here. You will always be in my heart.

Loved, loved, loved my pork chop. It had delicious flavor and I took it back to my hotel and ate it the next morning for breakfast and it was just as juicy and flavorful as the night I had it. Sangria was absolutely amazing as well. Very pricey and upscale but the food was delicious.

The octopus appetizer was delicious. They had a ceviche, with diced mango and orange slices that I thought was odd. I tried it anyway, and it was an unusual blend of flavors I don't think go well. Prices are on the high side, but the atmosphere is well worth it. They have an amazing flan, I highly recommend.

I've dined here since the late 60s and since it was on the way to MIA I decided after a 5 year hiatus to lunch here. I loved this place, the portions were generous and the food was delicious. My favorite was the seafood paella, but other dishes were also well prepared. To my surprise the restaurant was sold several years ago. We were here so might as well try it. We decided to have a lighter meal since it was late afternoon so we ordered from the Tapas menu. Our waiter, a very friendly and knowledgeable young man explained that the new owner wanted to take the restaurant in a different direction. New menu and new chefs which of course disappointed their regular customers. I can report that the meal we had was wonderful. From the tortilla de patatas with sliced spanish ham to the crocketas and finally oxtail empanadas, all delicious. And of course Estrella beer on tap. Definitely reminds me of our visits to Spain.

I used to rave about this place to all my friends. Sadly the last few times I went there. Food was a disappointment. Not sure if the chef has changed or just quality has gone down in general. Last 2 times I went for lunch & it was just disappointing. Portion was general. But, the meat was hard & didn’t taste good at all. For what was supposed to be wagyu beef. Seemed like rubber meat. Hard & chewy. Not sure if I’ll go back again!

Been to this place several times now on way to and from Miami airport. However the last meal I had the seared beef was dry and service was Horrible from a blond hair server. First they were out of the first 3 items we asked for . Never offered a replacement. Then she never returned to the table.had to ask for bread water etc. Shame because we loved going here and after last night probably won’t return. If you do go ask for Manny to be your server. He’s great and super friendly and always attentive plus order the pork chop it’s super juicy and worth the wait. I won’t name the waitress but shame on her to ruin what should have been a great dining experience after a long flight home. I’ll leave it up to management to take care of that issue.

Place is great. Just don’t order the fried chicken. It was terrible — mealy and relatively flavorless. The beans were also flavorless, and the white rice felt undercooked. I could hear the crunch of rice grains. The oxtail was delicious. And the plantains were so good. That and the hot bread. Such a treat from the frozen bakeries or the cruise ship. The pork belly was good but a tad too chewy and needed more flavor. The garlic like dip was too subtle. Finally, it would’ve been nice if the server had mentioned that our dishes came with fries when we ordered a side of fries. I still give her five stars for service because there was no one else in the restaurant. Total bill $177 for two lunch specials, three entrees, two appetizers and two cocktails.

Corner of 41st Ave and NW 7th st, clean, cozy place, food is very salty, food was dried, warmed up, very expensive for Cuban food, small portions; Masitas de puerco $20, Arroz con pollo +soup+dessert $27 , look at the menu attached. Service was good, plenty of parking
