Quick, delicious and gracious staff. Had tacos al pastor. Came with rice, beans, some chips and a drink. I highly recommend their chipotle salsa. I will definitely be back.
This place has barely parking but food is delicious!! Taco Mondays is awesome. Their chicken taco is a lot more tastier than when i used to go the location in Doral, they add a bit of mojo seasoning
I love Taco Rico Coral Gables. My favorite lunch spot. The food always delicious. Everyone that work there is amazing. 10000% the best place for quick lunch spot, Also I try the one in kendall is amazing too.
Cheat Day, and was craving a Beef stuffed Wet Burrito 🌯. I felt they could have added more ground beef but the Burrito was packed with rice, beans, lettuce, tomatoes, etc. to make up for it. In other words, VERY filling for a regular size or go even larger with their "Ultra Burrito," which All meals come with their signature tortilla chips and a Great variety of sauces you fill yourself, to your liking. This is a Great dive situated for MANY, MANY years right off of US1 and that should tell you something. Parking is limited, especially at lunch time, so get there before or after the rush. Food is tasty and prices are Very reasonable. Stop in and ENJOY a taste of Mexico! 🇲🇽
my go-to lunch spot for fantastic tacos at unbeatable prices. Their Tacos Al Pastor are a standout, perfectly balancing savory marinated pork with the sweet tang of pineapple. Each bite is bursting with flavor, and the generous portion sizes ensure you leave satisfied. The casual atmosphere and friendly staff only add to the experience. If you’re in the mood for authentic and affordable Mexican cuisine this is the place to go!
The food was hot & EXCELLENT! The staff was amazing. I'm from out of town and was staying nearby. I walked about .60 of a mile to get there. Once i returned to my room with my food in tow, it was still hot. They did an amazing job of packing it up. Below is the picture b4 eating and afterward. I'm craving for the food right now.
I came here for lunch. I ordered the loaded fish tacos and the carne asada plate. The food looks good. Medium rare looks to be medium rare. The inside could use some touch ups, but that could be due to covid19. Anyway the food looks good and the price wasn't bad. I do recommend
What can I say about this place, that would do it justice... You want damn good food, I mean seriously good food, like a drove from Key West to get tacos with my family. Awesome service, excellent food, great prices... Five star all the way!! 👍
This place is always fantastic. Have been coming here for 10+ years. We’ll priced and great tasting food with lots of options.
Whenever we come to South Miami, we always try to stop at Taco Rico. Their Wet Burritos are amazing! My friend had the lunch special with a Taco, a Fajita and a Chimichanga for $9.50. And he said it was the best Chimi he's ever had! I remember many happy days and nights coming here during college at UM, but always come back!
Fantastic place we’ve been to countless times for over 20 years. The food is delicious AND they make their own horchata.
I took a trip to miami and decided to look up some good places to eat. This place came up right away so I knew I had to go. Plus it was like 20 mins from the airport. Upon arrival it’s very clean and just a good atmosphere. Everythjbg on the menu sounded amazing. Seeing people’s dishes around me made me want everything! We ended up getting steak and chicken fatijas. It was sooo good! Don’t skip this place!
Very tastefully tacos, I have been to other branches and the flavor of this establishment is unique. Very friendly employees and good service, I love the sauces they prepare themselves❤️
You will not go wrong eating here. Need some comfort food? Go here! The chips are endless, the salsas are always fresh, the meal deals are great. This is my favorite place for a quick bite.
This place has been the go-to texmex place for years. It's a cozy place that has been around for years and has been some of the best food I've had. Always welcomed with a friendly smile and a hello. The food has never disappointed, and the drinks always flow. I've had texmex in Texas, and I can say that this place is right on the money.
The best chimichanga I’ve had so far…no lie the tastiest & freshest pico de galo ever at self serving salsa bar…this place is a hidden gem for sure
Been eating here for literally 30 years, I would skip high school and eat tacos here. The food is great and homemade. Not a fancy place, more a place that feels like home that I would eat at often. Anyone critical of this place is wrong. Will never stop coming here.
Portion sizes are amazing. The flavor of food is amazing. We bought the shrimp bowl and the shrimp tacos. They were so flavorful and the quantity was great for the price in Miami. Starbucks is just opposite so you could grab coffee if not into margaritas
I missed their GREAT food. We are not in the area any more, so we made a special trip ... just for their steak burrito!! So, so good!! My only wish is that they had a really HOT salsa verde!! Maybe I'll bring my own from home next time!!
The food was really delicious! I love that they give you chips while you wait for your food to be freshly made. There is a little salsa bar to pick which one you want. Small place but they make it work. Bathrooms are small and outside, needing a key from the staff inside. I wish they had this place near us bc the food, again, was awesome.
I had a good lunch for $13. The food is good. And the portion is more than enough. At least for me. They sell beer. I stopped there for a fast lunch. And the service was fast. The cashier (maybe the owner or manager) was very receptive and good vibe.
I always get the steak quesadillas & they are great. I have to give the other items a chance but I'm always satisfied with any steak dinner...
This was my first time eating here, the staff was amazing & so friendly. I don’t like beans so they gave me double rice. I had the Al Pastor platter, my soft shells fell apart but it was sooooo good 😋 I didn’t care. I ate my tacos with a fork 🤷🏽♀️. Next time I’ll ask them to put it on the side!! The Tres Leches was good too!! This is my new favorite place.
We visited all the taco ricos within our area because we eat out at least 2 or 3 tines a week but the Taco Rico in the Gables is the best. Amazing customer service and the food it's the best
This is one of my favorite casual taco places in the area! Meals always have generous portions with rice/beans/nachos served with delicious homemade salsas. Also reasonably priced Mexican draft beers! Staff is always pleasant and takeout/delivery is convenient here
Excellent experience! The food was so good! The taco salad was well seasoned and just absolutely perfect! The workers were very nice and happy. We were in town just for the day and this seemed like a great locals joint. Would love to go back again!
Absolutely one of my favorite places. Great staff. Excellent reasonably priced food.
I stopped by on my way back from beach abot 6 pm , while the place was full with a combination of pickups and dining in, i must say the amazing staff took the time to great me, take my order and as usual the amazing Steak Borito, the chips , sauce was delicious! I keep going back because of the nice people that work there and of course the amazing food. Thank you Ernie Herrera
This is the original taco Rico I've been waiting here for 20 years. The owners started small and have been growing slowly. The food is delicious high-quality and reasonably priced. Monday is taco night where they have beef bean and chicken tacos either crunchy or soft for only 99 cents. they've just recently added a loyalty program that you can use with your phone number... Earn points to get free food. My favorite thing is their fajitas served on a sizzling cast iron skillet at the table. At only $10.99 for the chicken or vegetable fajita you get an amazing meal. It comes with a little container with fresh hot tortillas, chicken with onions and peppers served with sides of sour cream, shredded cheese and guacamole. they have an excellent lunch combination special my favorite is lunch d which comes with a chimichanga as well as a variety of other Mexican favorites.
I have been to two of their locations and enjoyed both. Tried the wet burrito with steak and the enchiladas. Both were very tasty. They also have a very nice selection of salsas. Chips and salsa are complimentary which is always a big plus.
I love the food at taco Rico! Great chicken taco and burrito! I love the chips and salsa that come with the meal the salsa is delicious! The atomic sauce is super spicy and flavorful! I usually order online and pick up when ready.
This place is reliable. I've been stopping by this spot on and off since they opened.. 20 years and it never fails. Big portions for the money and always tasty. Friendly people and yummy food make this a place to chow down!
I was skeptical at first because in a highly gentrified part of town you don't expect "authentic" food to be that good. But man I had the steak burrito with an elote and it was amazing.the burrito was big and very tasty. I was immediately reminded of the food I used to have when I lived in Texas. I highly recommend this place. Whatever you get get their queso and put it on everything haha.
I have been coming to Taco Rico since I was a kid in the 90s. It's always been a favorite for my dad, brother, and me! The Coral Gables location has barely changed since then and is so nostalgic to walk into. The food is absolutely fantastic and I am never disappointed with anything I try. I love the salsa bar so we can get a little of each salsa that a family member likes and mix and match. It's got to be one of my favorite restaurants in Miami!
My brother recommended this place. Started with very fresh chips and salsa on-the-house. I ordered the Lunch with 1 beef taco and 1 beef burrito. It came with rice, beans and cheese. The taco was very good, filled with ingredients that tasted very good. The burrito was beefy as I had hoped. But, best of all was the absolutely incredible spicy habanero salsa that the Manager, Marlon, made! It was perfect!!! The prices here are unbeatable. The staff is very friendly and inviting. The place is very clean and there is ample parking right out front. I will definitely be back for those .99cent tacos on Monday too! Thanks again Marlon! Highly recommended for any Tex-Mex food lover.
Beautiful place and very nice staff and very clean.
Ordered online Months ago and decided the next time I visit Miami that I would go to actual location. Food was so good and fabulous 👌🏾 service. It did not disappoint. Thanks Again.
I come here often. They have good for good prices
Birria was awesome, don’t get the 4.3 rating
OK. I may no be going back. Still good service and good prices. But the meat quality is not the same. It is not what they use to have when they started. The meats smell weird and don't taste too good. Untill I get a notice saying they will go back to using great meat it is good bye for me. If using the best meat will raise the price Iam willing to pay
I came here with group of friends around 4:30 , 5PM. We came no for dinner neither lunch, just to have something to eat while chatting. We have a very good time, everyone loves her food, and the atmosphere is very informal and pleasant.
I had not been to Taco Rico since 2006, so I decided to stop in at lunch time with my brother since we were in the neighborhood. (Both of us live in North Beach.) I'm glad we did, and I'll make special trips just to go there from now on. The prices are very reasonable. Everything was clean; in fact, one employee was continuously cleaning windows, countertops, machines the whole time we were there. Best of all, the food was delicious! I like salsa extremely spicy, but the spiciest salsa wasn't even spicy enough for me although it was flavorful. I asked the manager, Marlon, if he had anything spicier; a few minutes later he returned to our table with the perfect salsa. I can't wait to go back again soon!
I had the Baja Vegetarian Bowl and I’ve received so much food it lasted me two days. Not only that, it was tasty and cooked perfectly. Very grateful to have found this Tex mex place!
Great taco place with reasonable prices and fantastic service. There's parking available and there's even a few tables outside. Food was delicious. We tried various tacos, burritos and an enchilada. The guys behind the counter are really friendly. You will find restrooms behind the building. A bit sketchy, but they were surprisingly clean and smelled fresh. That's always a testament to a well run restaurant. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Miami.
Lucked up on this little spot and couldn't be happier. The food from this spot was the most memorable ever. The tacos were so delicious we wished we would have gotten more than to two. We just wanted to try them and we were more disappointed we didn't get more. The chicken was moist and seasoned to perfections and the beef was even better. This is a small easy to miss restaurant but the local know because the DoorDash orders were flying out the door. I want to go back to Miami just to eat a few more tacos.
Everything was delectable, if I were to give a suggestion just make the meat a bit juicier on the taco salad. The street corn, was phenomenal. And the salsas are indescribable, every sauce was a mysterious explosion of flavor. The chips Were sensational, delicious and crispy, even tho is was a delivery order.
I’ll just say this I drive from Fort Lauderdale to Coral Gables to get the best chimichanga ever made at Taco Rico. Always worth the trip
Ordered Uber Eats and was highly impressed. Great flavor and love the chips and salsa added. Attention to detail is much appreciated
The food is always good and fast; a go-to for take out when we’re in town visiting family. And vegetarian friendly :)
Been coming here for over 15 years. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Marlon is the man!!
We've been going here for 15 years because the food is excellent. Nothing fancy but the folks are friendly. Soda and hot sauce is self-serve.
Cada vez que quiero comer comida mexicana, pienso en taco rico, ordeno Togo porque el sitio es muy pequeño, pero la comida es muy buena! Fresca, las veces que he ordenado, no he tenido problema
Delicioso, excelente servicio ambiente agradable.
Me encantó, buen servicio y excelente comida!
Nice pit stop at Taco Rico. Very friendly service. Food was fresh and delicious.
Ordered three vegetarian tacos and filling was delicious, but the shells were absolutely stale— inedible . I’ve never experienced that in any restaurant. Taco Rico has been around for years so they must be doing something right. But guys check the freshness on those crunchy taco shells. Service was polite and surprisingly, quick despite being very crowded.
Very small but great food, we had amazing fajitas of chicken and shrimp . Amazing flavor, great prices. The horchata was amazing, overall it was a great experience.
Been eating here for years. When ever i have a coconut grove appointment, i make sure this is my stop for dinner before driving south to homestead. Best friendly fast service. Mexican food cheap with great flavor. Paper cup and plates are the flair, hmm so good is the food. Best salsa choices, freshest ingridents. Love the mango passion fruit fresh tea. Tried all there chain stores, this is the original and best
I think that this Taco Rico located on South Dixie highway and LeJeune Road is the original. Place is small with only about 7 tables but don't let that stop you because the food is awesome. We were 6 and got the usual texmex flair of burritos, fajitas, and tacos. All of it was excellent and plentiful. They offer a salsa/sauce station with about 7 to 8 different salsas from mild to hot to roasted to verde. Excellent. You get chips and salsa with your order, pretty cool. This location has been here for decades and never disappoints. Only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is because the guy who took our order looked liked he hated his job and had the personality of a wet rag. He's been like this before on other visits. If he's not the owner I would fire him. Smiles and thank yous are required to make any place earn 5 stars. Would I go back? You bet your enchilada I will.
Hailing from Texas myself I know true Tex Mex. This place comes very close to true Tex Mex. I say close because it's missing something. And I honestly can't put my finger on it. Food servings are generous. Very tasty. But again. Missing that something special to call it authentic. The salsa is imo a major disappointment. While delicious it lacked the "kick" (heat) Thier most spicy salsa was mild. Overall I really liked eating here. And will return.
Love the fajita salad and chimichangas... This location is my favorite. It's not a pretty place but the food is decently good and they have Mexican beers. It's quick and popular with firefighters and UM students.
The food here has always been great. Great freshly made salsa. Small place not much to say about it
Taco Rico in Coral Gables offers an exceptional dining experience where customer service truly shines. The staff consistently goes above and beyond, making every visit feel warm and welcoming. Among the many Tex-Mex options in the area, Taco Rico stands out for offering the best price-to-quality ratio—delicious, generous portions at a fair cost. The menu showcases a wide variety of Tex-Mex dishes, from classic tacos and burritos to flavorful bowls and salads, all prepared with fresh ingredients and authentic flair. Whether you're grabbing a quick lunch or enjoying a relaxed dinner, there's something for every taste. Their rewards program is another highlight, offering great value for loyal customers. It’s a thoughtful touch that reflects their commitment to community and hospitality.
Might not be the most authentic taco place but the food isn't bad and the atmosphere is nice. The guy working at the front is really sweet and patient.
I absolutely love the food. Hefty portions for an affordable price. Fish tacos are fantastic, and I always enjoy the free chips and salsa. However, if you dine in, you have to tip at the counter before your food is brought to you. If you don’t, or if the tip isn’t very good, you can expect to wait a long time for your food. Have experienced this multiple times and with multiple people. I take issue because it’s not like you’re being waited on, they’re simply bringing your food out from the kitchen, they don’t refill your drinks or take your order at the table. I haven’t been there in years now, I only order from Postmates, at least they deserve the tip.
Friendly service, and I liked the salsa bar. But the food was subpar. Ordered a chicken enchilada and taco lunch combo. Both were 1/3 empty. They only gave me 1/3 cup rice. It's rice - why be so stingy? Chicken was overcooked. I will never visit again.
So i used to come here a lot with my dad and i always enjoyed it. Now that i’m older i can give my own opinion. The cashier man was visibly dirty. The restaurant itself looked unclean and i felt like i was going to eat food that wasn’t fresh. I just felt very uncomfortable, but the staff was nice. The food also smelled good and tasted good.
I've seen this place for so many years and finally decided to come and try the food. I made the mistake of not taking pictures, but we ordered the Fajitas carne and chicken ( for 2 ) the carne and chicken were very hot, great seasonings, the smashed beans , were okay, I say okay because they weren't the best of quality, didn't taste bad, I personally would've like for the sour cream, guacamole and shredded cheese not to be in plastic container, but if they have to be in a plastic container, at least not in the same plate of the rice and beans, the rice was a little cold and finally, the tortillas were hot but small.
Although I enjoy this place consistency seems to be an issue. Over the week end I went and picked up a Taco platter consisting of 3 tacos. Only 2 were semi filled one had less ingredients than taco bell. The tortillas were doughy and soggy in liquid of some sort. I get the same platter everytime. Sometimes it'sperfect. Going to lay off for awile after this. .
Delivery of fajitas . The meat is not as tender as before. Everything else was great but why reduce the quality of the meat. ??
Tacos were very greasy. Rice was good.
It used to be better. We ordered Steak Fajita for two, our usual. Serving size is much smaller which we don’t mind. They used to put more green peppers but now it was almost nonexistent. Taste was a little bland, nowhere near before. But, we’ll continue to come here for fajitas, it’s still better than other places.
Gringo tacos. Ordered steak tacos and it has basic tomato, shredded lettuce, shredded cheddar cheese and mayo on it. No true creativity or flavor. Very disappointing
I am so sad as this used to be a great lunch place. I have not been in a couple of years and was expecting the same food quality. It all so disappointing, did they get new ownership? The recipes have all changed, the enchilada red sauce tastes like a can sauce. The cheese dip that I always loved l, is now orange and again tasted like it came from a can. Please go back to the quality you once had, but for me I will not be back sadly. The chips used to be light and fresh, now they are store bought instead of made on-site.
Staff was nice. The food was not very good. The beef for tacos was the consistency of wet dog food and didn't have much flavor. The pork had good flavor but was very salty. The queso was inedible. Even the smell was disgusting. Tasted burned. The chips and pico were good but overall I wouldn't recommend or return here.
The worst Birria taco I ever had. The tacos were soggy. Even the Elote was horrible. No mayo no cheese. The quality of the food was horrible and had a weird smell. Do not recommend to anyone.
The worst experience I've ever had. My food took an hour and a half to get to me. It was cold and disgusting. I spent 31$ on garbage. They couldn't even give me my total. The driver had me come to his car. Didn't even get off. Sucked really bad
Terrible service, the lady who answered the phone and took the order didn’t even seem to know the menu. I was told delivery would be 45 mins to 1 hr. After over an hour of waiting I had to drive to location, food was justing sitting on counter. Who knows for how long and when they were planning on delivering it. While waiting at location to be attended to, there was a big line of people who had similar problems, long wait and no food. The phone kept ringing and no calls were answered while I was there, also I tried calling multiple times, phone kept ringing, never answered, or when answered I was hung up on. Personnel kept yelling at kitchen staff that food was put in window incomplete or incorrect. Service and experience was overall terrible and what makes it worse is staff did not even try to communicate with the customer. Just horrible.
I bought food at the Taco Rico on US1, Coral Gables today 3/30/22. Worst food ever! don't got there, don't waste your money. I bought a "Steak Burrito Platter". Something tasted bad in the burrito, something was old. It was not made with stake, it was made with meat balls meat!!! the platter had a chicken taco, it tasted bad too. The refried beans and rice were bad... I had to throw the food away. How could they call this "Mexican Food"... what a joke... and what a waste of money!
wow! talk about horrible and disrespectful service?!?!? i called about doing a private event and whomever picked up the phone said we are busy and hung up the phone. this is out of control! i’m literally in shock. if my staff ever spoke to a customer like that they would be fired on the spot! i’m ready to pay for food for 100-120 people and this is how im treated?!?! my jaw is on the floor literally. wow!
I watched the cook but my styrofoam container with my steak burrito in the microwave that sits just inside the kitchen pass thru window on a shelf. Microwaved the lettuce and everything else. Got home and it was gross. Soggy lettuce, cold clumpy yellow rice. Thru it away. I figure a Mexican restaurant chain with 20 restaurants specializing in mex food could cook without a microwave. can never go back knowing the food is microwaved. I can go to freezer section in grocery store and microwave a burrito at home. I ask: why microwave what is suppose to be “fresh ingredients” when you look at webpage on line.
This place is honestly hit or miss. The food is pretty good but what turns me off completely is the service. I'll call ahead to place an order, they'll tell me to come in 10 minutes. I decide to come in 25, just to give them the extra time to prepare it. I get there and they JUST STARTED making the food. This isn't even a one time occurrence. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but it's happened more than once, more than twice before I said forget it. This place could be so much better if they didn't have terrible customer service. Another time, I called and placed an order for chicken tacos and they gave me bean instead. Things like that is what made me stop coming to this place. You're probably better off going to Salsa Fiesta a little south of this Taco Rico. If you're not up for the gamble of potentially not getting what you asked for, I'd stay away from this place
This place is horrible. They keep their food overnight and serve it the next day. Not Fresh at all. Keep going on the highway. Go somewhere else !!!!you will get sick.
If I could give a 0 I would, I have ordered from them before and everything was great. This time I placed my order a week in advance for food to be delivered on Friday May 3. I spoke to Marvin the manager at the location I think its 450 South Dixie Hwy. When my order arrived everything was wrong when I called him he was very rude I explained to him that my order was wrong that I had ordered 60 soft chicken tacos. He sent me 30 hard shells and 30 soft. The second issue was I ordered chicken he sent a pan of chicken and a pan of ground beef. When I explained this to him he said to me I don't have time to talk to you it's rush hour. I never heard back from him later in the afternoon to explain to me why my order was wrong. I don't think I will order from them again not a good way to treat repeating customers.
Two delivery orders in a row they've messed up our order. Neither time have they made it right. "You can just drive over and pick up another one. We don't mind making another". Unbelievable. The food is good when they get it right.
Worse place in the entire Florida It's better to eat sawdust than eating from this place. Even my dog's wouldn't eat it. Plus the employees pretty much run the show so don't expect great service either. Reviews are meant to help you protect your money and your health so follow my advice and SKIP THIS PLACE
Today, I ordered lunch special - taco & burrito with beans. I specified to the short bald (on the heavier side) server that I am vegetarian. He was too busy checking out guys in the restaurant while he took my order. I was served beans with chicken. The lady servers were nice about it when I sent the plate back and they apologized, though. Beware! Never again!
Horrible service! We ordered delivery from here for Cinco de Mayo 2020. The order was placed at approximately 11:10am and we were told it would take approximately 45 minutes to an hour to arrive. Mind you this place is just down the street from us. An hour came and went and nothing arrived. I tried calling more than twenty times and they would not pick up. One time they even hung up on me. My coworker decided to drive over there to see what was going on. Our order was just sitting on the counter and hadn’t even been sent out with the delivery driver. We ordered a taco sampler and triple dip appetizer. The taco sampler was supposed to make 12 tacos according to their advertisement. There was only enough meat to make 6 tacos and only 9 tortillas. Totally messed up our cinco de mayo. Totally unacceptable!!! Never again.
Used to be the 5-star spot for fajitas and burritos... Now under new management they barely get 1. For the past two years I've see the food quality go straight downhill along with the service and facility cleanliness. You're better off at Subway 2 doors down
I've been a regular for the past few months and was initially pleased with the food. On my last order they forget to add in the guacamole that I ordered. This was a delivery order due to the COVID 19 shutdown. On my next order, I mentioned that they forgot it on the last order when I paid for it and I didn't want to call to have a side of guacamole run back out. I was basically told I was out of luck. That's their prerogative, but a bad way to treat a regular customer over an item that they forgot. I guess they have plenty of business because they have just lost mine...
The worst attention I have ever received in my life was received this afternoon at this restaurant. Terrible service. Terrible treatment of customers. I don't recommend it
ONE STAR - DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!! Yesterday, my coworker and I both ordered from Taco Rico. We each got the chicken fajitas. That same night, we both started feeling horrible—severe stomach aches and diarrhea that kept us up all night. Now it’s the next day, and we’re both still sick. It’s obvious the food made us ill. This is serious—DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM UNLESS YOU WANT A STOMACH BUG. We’re extremely disappointed and honestly disgusted. Please be careful.
Closed already @ 10:36 pm on Saturday 10/18/25, the cleaning lady said the store manager closed because they were slow
I always get sick eating this food, it’s been three days and I’m still in the bathroom! Great people, food tastes great, bad quality when it goes down! 😭😭 seriously the last time I eat from there, parasites in the food…
The attention in this restaurant is the worst I have ever received. I was attended by two men who were at the counter, one of them with glasses and the other with a Chicago cubs cap, without manners or good treatment, if they do not have patience or do not want to serve customers well, do not work in public service.
Horrible la salsa roja el sabor y los tacos con la tortilla fría y dura , la limpieza e higiene fatal no se como esta este negocio funcionando.
