Food was good but it didn’t feel very basque to me. The shrimp rice was very nice and came with lobster. The wine was ok. The dover sole (catch of the day) was a bit bland and cold by the time it was deboned at the table. Service was great and Laura deserves all the praise for being waiter, front of house and everything else in between.
Casa Xabi: An Exceptional Culinary Journey with Impeccable Service We had the pleasure of visiting Casa Xabi and the overall experience truly exceeded our expectations. Starting from the initial phone contact, the service was meticulous and highly professional. The restaurant boasts a delightful ambiance, featuring a tasteful and elegant decor that creates a warm and sophisticated setting for the evening. The service was flawless: Our server, Fernando, provided outstanding attention, and the presence of Chef Xabier in the dining room—attentive to every detail and to his guests—is a touch that elevates the entire experience to a superior level. Regarding the culinary offerings, the three main courses we sampled were fantastic and truly memorable: the Matrimonio, the Jamón Croquettes, and the Clam Omelette are, without a doubt, must-try dishes. Each preparation shone with masterful execution and quality. We paired this selection with an excellent glass of wine. To conclude, we had the cheesecake. While the flavor was pleasant, we noted that its execution, though correct, did not quite reach the same level of outstanding excellence we experienced with the mastery of the first three courses. In summary, Casa Xabi offers a high-quality experience, both in service and in its core culinary offerings. We will certainly be returning to explore more of their menu.
Not sure why i haven’t given this a billion stars many moons ago. Casa Xabi slinging probably my favorite Spanish food in miami right now. Wednesdays happy hour all night with live music. Have you not been to casa xabi yet?? Y not???
No joke - the food is even better than in Spain! Nice atmosphere, excellent + high quality food and super service.
The best service ever. Since the moment we went in… the customer service is high class. The food is delicious. Amazing atmosphere; management 5start. Definitely we will be back.
One of the top Spanish restaurants in town. Everything was great! I attached the only pic I remembered to take. I already had eaten half of it. A new dish the chef was testing and was kind to share it with us.
Our server Dominique ! Was so sweet and professional the food was really well made very fresh seafood . The chef visited tables personally to verify and all
Had a wonderful anniversary dinner. Food was authentic and we felt the essence of northern Spain in every dish. I would highly recommend taking the time to visit and enjoy good food and atmosphere in Coconut Grove.
Service was great! Food was delicious. loved that they made the tortilla to order instead of having it premade like most places. I especially enjoyed the cooked vegetable plate. I wish they had lighter non seafood protein plates like a grilled chicken but overall 10/10.
This has to be one of the most underrated places I've been to. We come to the grove often and this is our first time at casa Xabi. Our luckiest came at happy hour but there wasn't a single thing I didn't think was fantastic. This is now one of my favorites in Miami. Reminds me of being in Spain
The restaurant is incredible. You literally feel that you’re in the bass country in Spain. Their chef is the most friendly and approachable person making sure each plate is made perfect and full of flavor. It is also one of the only restaurants I know to supply food ingredients from Spain directly With a organic mix of Florida produce highly recommend it. I think I’m gonna eat here every weekend! I drive from the beach Just for this
Traditional Basque Country food from north of Spain. Great hospitality by owner chef and amazing food
Wow! This was hands down one of the best meals we’ve had in a while. My husband and I are self proclaimed foodies and we love to travel and eat! Miami was a stopover before our cruise, and we’re so happy that we found Casa Xabi. For starters, we had the Matrimónio which was anchovies on toasted bread, absolutely delicious, it was unexpectedly paired with tomatoes but that combo works! My husband had the lamb shank and I had the arroz Ibérico. I loved that the rice had a nice char on the outside and was infused with so much flavor. It was my favorite bite of the meal. My husband said the lamb was dynamite and it was falling off the bone tender. We also got sangrias that were well balanced and not overly sweet, and polished off our meal with Basque cheesecake that was light and fluffy. Our server Rocco was outstanding. He was so friendly and knowledgeable about the food. He brought us some digestive at the end of the meal which was such a thoughtful gesture. We certainly needed it after fully indulging ourselves. This place is a definite must-visit if you’re in Miami. We’re planning on coming back and trying out the rice with clams and pork shoulders. I cannot wait for that day to come. Thank you Casa Xabi for a memorable evening.
Absolutely fabulous! Northern España is one of our favorite regions in the world not just for the scenery, culture, but most of all for the food! Basque takes their food seriously and every time we've eaten Spanish/Basque restaurants in the US has been nothing but a major disappointment. So seeing this new spot in the Grove was a bit hesitant to try but went for it as it was early afternoon, weather was great, and we got seated outside right away. Let's start with the service as it was exceptionally good. The outdoor seating was wonderful and the inside of this place is very well decorated as well. Now for the food - everything we tried was A+ and did not disappoint. And the wine was fantastic! As of right now, this is the best Spanish/Basque place we've eaten in the US no question about it. Looking forward to coming back to try more of the menu.
We had a great time having dinner here and absolutely loved the tortilla! The environment was great and service was amazing!
Best tortilla in Miami hands ✋️ down ! Croquetas ToP 3..$$ Overall is a place where you could taste a real donostia place !
My friend and I visited Saturday Feb 8, 2025. Overall we very much enjoyed it. Located in the heart of Coconut Grove, we were strolling and stumbled upon this restaurant. The design and decor immediately caught our attention as we felt transported to Spain. We decided to dine there for early dinner at 5pm. This was a perfect time before the sun was setting and we had the best table front and center, indoors but with the floor-to-ceiling doors open to the sidewalk for an alfresco atmosphere. The waitresses were all wonderful. All spoke fluent Spanish AND English which is very rare but essential. Great start. We were served choice of water with fresh bread and olive oil. Loved the authenticity. We also ordered two sangrias. For two appetizers we chose Croquetas de Jamón (and Bacalao which is codfish). Since we couldn't decide the waitress recommended we could get 2 of each. Turns out the ham ones (jamon) were better as they had more creamy bechamel. The next appetizer was the "Pulpo Asado" (roasted octopus, sweet potato, pepper emulsion, paprika). This was definitely my favorite but a little pricey for the portion. $29 We also shared the main course, Salpicón de Langosta y Pulpo (like a ceviche of lobster and octopus, olive oil caviar, coral emulsion). $33 We did not order dessert but would definitely try the Basque cheesecake next tiem. The bill was $125+ before gratuity. There is no parking nearby. This is the historic area and so we rode our bikes there since it was a perfect day. We would definitely recommend Casa Xabi.

Went with my mom a few weeks ago and Maisel was our server. She was super kind with a genuine personality and gave great recommendations, staff was very friendly as well. Not to mention, the food was amazing ! Would definitely recommend and go again.
Dominique was so sweet and attentive. The patatas bravas fries were out of this world. Hand cut with the perfect amount of sauce. The sauce at first is so flavorful and then hits you with a very subtle amount of spice. The chocolate cake is also the perfect closer. The salt truly brings out the best notes of the rich chocolate.

Fantastic restaurant for pinchos & tinto de verano in the Grove. What really stood out, was the service; welcoming, engaging, and memorable enough that I found myself back again the next evening. It’s the kind of place where the food keeps you happy and the staff makes you smile.
Casa Xabi is absolutely amazing. from the food to the atmosphere to the service everything was top teir. their tortilla is to die for as well as their house made basque cheesecake. truly felt like we were transported to spain while eating here. huge shout out to our server Maisel for being so kind and attentive and making us feel so welcomed. highly recommend!
We tried Casa Xabi in Coconut Grove and had a mix of highlights and misses. The pulpo asado was tender and flavorful, and the seafood salad ceviche style was fresh and delicious. The croquetas de jamón were also a good choice, but not the best ones I had. The remolacha de queso with beets, however, was more style than substance, beautiful presentation but underwhelming in flavor and portion. Service was very friendly, but the team felt a bit inexperienced; they rushed to clear plates and asked repeatedly if we were finished when we weren’t. Overall, the experience was pleasant with some memorable dishes, but a few details could be improved to match the beautiful setting and concept. If you go tell them Flavia sent you.
