Amazing. Robyn, our server, was attentive and very pleasant. I did have a concern with my frozen beverage but it was taken care of immediately. My dinner, baked stuffed scrod with risotto was delicious.

Came here for a burger and some drinks on a Saturday. Service was excellent, the burger was good too! I ordered the Johnny’s Bloody Mary but was not as good as I’d hoped. Prices, compared with California, were very reasonable for a hotel. Would come back, would order an alternate drink though.

I was here for a celebration of a life ceremony. So, there are no pictures from the buffet and the bar. We had ceasar salad ( which could have used a little more dressing), pasta Alfredo, meatballs, rolls, asst finger sandwiches. Pastries. But the food is good, service nice. The only picture I took was the basket of useful items in the ladies' restroom.

A great tribute to the old school johnny's. The bar and patio is prime real estate for the ultimate covid era culinary experience. The manager Steve was professional, polite, and an all around great host.

Don't miss the three course early bird dinner 3-4pm $20 - great choices

I came for collations after a funeral service it was in a very nice bright room. The buffet was set up beautifully with a very nice selection of food and the service was excellent. But honestly anytime I come here everything is done well and my husband and I truly enjoyed coming here for anything. Sally McFarland

Went here on our first night in Newport. Food was amazing and the service was great!! I loved how awesome and kind the servers were. They were knowledgeable and punctual. Highly recommend.

Solid breakfast choice ! We opted to stay in the hotel instead of going out and it was a good decision. The corned beef hash is so fluffy and soft I’ve never had one like this! Highly recommend. Friendly service.

We stayed here four nights. We dined at this restaurant several times. The calamari wasn't as expected with the oil and peppers, but rather unfortunately was served with red sauce. The chocolate cake was incredible, velvety smooth with rich chocolate. Overall was a good establishment to have a meal with.

My first time experiencing thanksgiving out of the norm. I loved it . Great hospitality amazing people to share this experience with. The food was excellent delicious. Totally worth it. We all had an amazing time. Looking forward to going next year this time with my first grandson. Blessings to staff that did such a phenomenal job. 🙏

We were on a senior bus tour and had dinner here. It was the best dinner, not only on the trip, but better than any in a long time. The servers were friendly and very efficient. The food was excellent!!!

We truly enjoyed our brunch a really nice buffet that you can choose from an easy way to get it if you come from Middletown, Portsmouth or Newport or you did the Pell Bridge Run.

We were a party of 9 and had dinner there everything was great! We got there before the dinner rush and we sat outside. I had the littlenecks zuppa, boiled lobster and we shared the appetizers calamari, clam cakes, chowder, and flatbreads for the kids. everything was awesome. our server Kyla was great. The atmosphere was nice and calm. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of the food!! Wouldn't mind going here again!

Great restaurant! We ate three times throughout the week- once dine in and two times room service. All the items were delicious and fresh. Service was quick and Abigail(?) was so kind.

We held our grandmother’s funeral repast here. The service was prompt and attentive, and the food was incredible—from the kids’ chicken tenders to the baked scrod and the carrot cake. It was really lovely to be taken care of so well on an emotional day and to view the beautiful scenery of my grandmother’s hometown.

Stayed at the Wyndham, where the restaurant is located on the ground level with separate dining rooms and a bar area. Service was excellent and the waitstaff was friendly. We ordered a kids’ burger for my daughter and the grilled octopus with a side of arugula—surprisingly good for room service and exactly what we were looking for. Their food is consistently reliable and never disappoints. Note: room service includes a $5 delivery fee plus a 20% gratuity.

We came here for dinner one night and it was good. It’s very much a “hotel restaurant” which felt extremely corporate and lacking in terms of character or true decoration. The service was great. Our waitress was attentive and the food was brought out fresh. My husband got the fish and chips which he said was fishy. I got the boiled lobster dinner which was good. It came with rice pilaf and broccoli which I enjoyed. For dessert, we both got the special dessert of sticky toffee cake which, flavor-wise, was delicious. The only complaint was that we were told it was served warm but the toffee sauce on top was still congealed and the cake was cool (not cold as they’d probably microwaved the chill off of it). Also, don’t order a hot tea unless you want to overpay for a cup of hot water and a teabag ($4).

Looked around for a lobster fix, so Newport was busy, and TBH, I did not want the fuss of finding a pay and park space and the hustle and bustle. So here I was at Johnny's, the hotel was busy (a few weddings at the hotel), but a nice atmosphere, live music and 1 1/2 lb stuffed lobster to keep me company! At the end, I was as stuffed as the lobster used to be (sadly a skeleton now)! Good food, friendly staff and good music! Mind Johny could do with moving to contactless payment! Thankfully, a trusty card kicking around for emergencies.

We loved it ! The food was really good, they definately have an extensive seafood menu. I'd say it would be good to perfect their sol. Their swordfish and oysters were done very well!!! Their staff was very attentive and quick. The view is great!! We'd go here again

We were generally pleased with this hotel restaurant. Most of the food was decent and was a good value. We had appetizers while waiting for our rooms to be available. Breakfast a couple mornings. Wine and drinks at night. The service was always decent. The macaroni needed some salt and flavor in general, but the shrimp cocktail, quesedillas and reuben were good, lobster bisque was excellent - good flavor and lots of lobster chunks. I would have liked some different wines (less sweet and a little better quality). It's nice there is an outdoor bar and firepits for when you come back from a fun day / night, and we also enjoyed the live music.

Great food. We went for lunch on restaurant week. The food was very good. 3 grilled lollipop lamb chops grilled to perfection to start and the diver summer Francese was perfect as well.

Been coming here for years and for the first time disappointed. I’ve always looked forward to the blueberry pancakes, they made them better than anyone. When I came this time they weren’t available, buffet only. Tried to get her to make them but nope. End of a great breakfast spot. The buffet was okay and lots of food, but won’t be legendary like the blueberry pancakes I used to drive 100 miles for.

When I initially booked the reservations I didn't know it was inside an hotel. With that said, the food was pretty good and the waiter was attentive. Only downside is that there was a wedding so the place was packed making it difficult to find parking.

This restaurant was inside of Wyndham motel in Newport. It was very clean, but had a lot of hints of older days. It lacked style. However the wait staff and the food made up for that, they were excellent!

I never leave 1 star review. If I’m going leave review I always give the business 5 star because I know how it helps. But the way I was treated Friday at the check in by Liz was very rude. I made 8pm dinner reservation and drove 1 hour to the restaurant. Upon arrival with attitude Liz tells me that the kitchen is very backed up that they are not seating anyone til they catch up! She said don’t know when will that be if I want step aside and stand over there . I was confused and explained to her that I drove 1 hour and it’s 8pm too late to regroup I have no choice but to wait, where is over there that I could wait ? She once again gave me attitude because I was getting the vibe that she wanted us to leave not wait. I asked for her name and her entire attitude changed by then it was too late, I rather spend $200 on dinner & drinks somewhere that knows how talk to customers even if they are busy so we left. It’s just poor service, seems like they don’t know how to run busy restaurant. I went back on open table and again I see bunch of available times for dinner and I picked time again just see it and let me book it. If they so busy they can easily call the customers let them know unfortunately they not taking anymore reservations instead of letting people book it and drive there to just be turned down. Very disappointing.

Restaurant is clean and very nice. For Newport area it's reasonably priced as well. Our waitress was young but she was fine and did her best given the situation. Now the bad. I went this past Wednesday July 10th. We had reservations but the restaurant was pretty empty for lunch at 1pm. Once seated my mom informed me she has gotten food poisoning from salmon there so not to order seafood there but then raved about the other food. So I ordered an Angus burger club requested it made medium not burnt but not rare. I got a quick seared hamburger browned quickly raw and cold except the very outside. I sent it back the waitress acknowledged she saw it and thought it was raw and brought it out non the less so she wasn't surprised it was sent back. I requested the burger cooked more. About 3 minutes later waitress came back with the same burger obviously microwaved for a few seconds but still raw and ice cold in the middle now the bread was mushy as bread tends to get in the microwave. I asked the server to please have the club remade as it was microwaved she told me she didn't think the chef would microwave it but a new one would be about 10 minutes. About 10-12 minutes went by and out came another club with a very very rare raw and still stone cold in the middle. At this point everyone else has finished their meals which were mostly other sandwiches and all their food was ok nothing spectacular but very much edible. I gave up told the server to take it back and take it off the check. I left hungry and had a sandwich when I got home. Very disappointed will never be back and will let anyone that asks for local food recommendations to steer clear.

We made reservations weeks in advance for Thanksgiving for a party of 14, including two children under five. Upon our arrival, the two ladies in the banquet room were not very welcoming. When we mentioned that our party had been split up, they simply replied, "Oh well, that's the reservation." Throughout our visit, we never saw a server attend to us. To make matters worse, the turkey ran out, leaving us disappointed. When we went to leave, a man approached us with a bill that included a 20% gratuity. We were perplexed, as we had received no service whatsoever. The corporate and rude demeanor of the hostesses was off-putting, and we felt there was insufficient food available. Overall, our experience was far from satisfactory.

We ordered 3 cups of clam chowder, a lobster roll with fries, 4 shrimp cocktail and it came to $112 for a takeout order. It wouldn't have mattered if the food was actually good and a decent portion size, but it was a measly portion of lobster for a $36 roll. We couldn't even eat the clam chowder because it tasted sour. So disappointed. We went to the Engine Room for lunch in Mystic the same day and it was the same amount of money for 5 meals and better quality food. They also up charged each item for using DoorDash on top of a $12.99 DoorDash Service Fee. Not sure why we're paying more for ordering takeout only on certain items.
