Big Bowl Ridgedale

It's a clean restaurant with lighting that contributes to the refined and professional atmosphere. We came here on a busy Saturday and waited about 10 minutes for our food. I ordered the Big Bowl Chicken Salad, it was amazing. The salad consisted of refreshing chopped spinach, red cabbage, and iceberg lettuce combined with crispy fried rice noodles, savory peanuts, and soy beans drizzled in a sweet sauce. Well worth the price in my opinion. ($13) Overall a pleasant experience.

An awesome dining experience at Big bowl today, loved the chicken dumplings and the shrimp big bowl with veg fried rice. Loved the service and we finished our early dinner with mango cheesecake which was a cherry on the top. A premium dining experience with mouth watering Chinese food and super fresh ingredients.

I enjoy the food I had. The server was good at his job, he wore the biggest smile I've seen in a long time. It was my first time there, and I guess the first time having lemon grass. Which of you haven't had before, it leaves what appeared to me course hair fibers. But was told by waiter that lon grass is what is was. Weird.

Big Bowl has a tasty and amazing menu of Chinese and Thai food, craft cocktails and a variety of beers and other beverages. I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken potstickers and crispy chicken dumplings. This bar and restaurant should be on your list of top places to unwind for the weekend or tune up for you next job interview. Amazing!

Had a great father daughter lunch date at Big Bowl in Minnetonka! I’m always so happy when I find a restaurant that has a dedicated gluten free menu. I ordered the Orange Chicken (wok-tossed chicken, ginger, scallions & red peppers). I hadn’t been able to find orange chicken anywhere since being diagnosed with Celiac Disease so I was so excited! Their gluten free menu has so many options, the service was great, and the manager even brought me my food because she knew I had an allergy. Such an awesome experience!

I would honestly rate the restaurant 4.5 stars but decided to round up today. I visit Minneapolis often for work. I like to branch out to the surrounding area for food options. The food was delicious, compliments to the chef. The Pad Thai I had wasn’t an exciting dish, but it's exactly what it should be. If I come again I plan to do something more adventurous. I did order the pomegranate ginger ale, it coupled well with the dinner.

I had an excellent experience dining at Big Bowl tonight. When I arrived I was seated promptly (no reservation needed) and a waitress was taking our beverage order within a minute. The stir-fry bar is to die for! It is something I order from Big Bowl every time I eat there. I will for sure being going back!!

This is easily one of my favorite places to eat! The food is consistently fresh and full of flavor, and the service is generally very good. My husband has a severe food allergy, and they do an amazing job handling it. Each time we have been here, the servers have double-checked the ingredients in the dishes we have ordered, and a manager delivers the food to our table. They go above and beyond to make sure no cross contamination occurs.

Last minute lunch plans as a day date for our early anniversary. Our first time visiting and won’t be our last. I loved the flavor of the Sesame Chicken with the Jasmine Rice. We had the Bourbon Blueberry Smash cocktail, it was very flavorful and refreshing. Our waitress Crystal was amazing, attentive and had the most welcoming smile. The Carmel Apple Spring Rolls were AMAZING paired with the ice cream. ❤️

Food was very good, had the Kung Pao Chicken over jasmmine rice. Delicious! Wife had same but w/tofu. Enough to take some home. First time but will definitely be going back.

This is my favorite restaurant !! Vegetarians, go for stir fry bar; you get to pick your own veggies. We had Kung Pao with noodles and Thai green curry with Jasmine rice and lots of veggies. It was awesome.

I’ve been coming here for 10 years. I love it every time I come. The food is always top-notch. I’ve never had a bad experience with the food or staff. It’s very clean and professional! Highly recommended! I drive for 50 minutes just for the chicken pad Thai and Ginger ale. Cheers! :-)

Our server was amazing! I am disappointed that pea pods are an extra dollar in the make your own stir fry…but included in the chefs choice??? Also what happened to the zucchini squash??

Mike and Crystal were both great! So fun and they both had great suggestions. They kept us laughing and the food and drinks were all so good!

Crystal is an amazing server and got us everything we asked for with a smile and friendly attitude making the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable

My friend and I love going here for lunch whenever we’re in the area. We are usually seated in Adam’s section, he is such a great server! He has basically memorized our “usual” order which is outstanding in itself but he is also extremely friendly and always has a smile to greet us with. Today our order was accidentally mixed up but it was quickly fixed in no time at all! We highly recommend him as a server and this location as well! Seating is more spacious than the Edina location. Even if it’s busy you’re still able to have a decent conversation without too much noise from other guests.

To the whole of Big Bowl staff, thank you for a consistently fantastic experience! The service and food here exceeds my expectations every single time. You guys are fantastic! I have nothing but glowing reviews for y'all! Ellie knows my order before even approaching my table- this is customer service reimagined. Thank y'all so much. honestly this was my first time back in a really long time and the service was fantastic. loved the energy of the staff. helps that the sun is shinning through the windows. i got the green curry and it’s perfect balance of heat and flavor, highly recommend.

Our servers were awesome! Mike was so attentive and funny and Crystal made sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious and our group didn’t feel rushed to finish and leave. We will definitely be back!

Food was amazing. My waiter was insane good. He guided me to the most wonderful Choices on the menu and was super warm and friendly. Give the man a raise. I had the best big bowl experience I’ve had (and I’m a pretty regular customer). Well done young Thadeus.

Crystal is amazing!! We come here monthly. She always takes great care of us and provides exceptional customer service. We usually experience great service but she is truly in a league of her own!

We hadn’t been in for quite some time due to the make your own stir fry being taken away during Covid! Well it’s back and always a nice option but the quality isn’t the same. The chicken was rather tough and the king pao sauce was just meh. A little disappointed due to the quality and price so definitely not rushing back!! We did have great service though!!

I have always loved Big Bowl because of their Make Your Own Bowl but I haven't been here in a long time. I always order the teriyaki chicken with half fried rice and half noodles and pick my own veggies. I was a little disappointed when I didn't see the straw mushroom in the selection. I'm not sure if it's just at this location or just this time, but I hope they keep that. The panang curry and the Shanghai ginger garlic sauce is also flavorful. My other favorite thing here is their fresh ginger ale! They used to have more flavors but it's always delightful to have it with my food. When I came for lunch, there weren´t many people in the restaurant but service was just a little sluggish. Again, I haven't been to Big Bowl in years and not at Ridgedale, so I hope it was just the day I went (a Thursday at 230 pm.)

Positive lively atmosphere, the service was a little slow but they were pretty busy. The food was fresh with generous portion sizes, we left full and happy! Will definitely be returning!

This was all new to me. If you like trying new things I would say this is a place worth trying. The pad thia flavor was not something I was expecting and even though I tried to enjoy it I never was able to. The steak stir fry with green curry was very good but to spicy to eat much of. I cannot say this will be a place I will try again

Good place for Chinese and Thai. A bit expensive but worth a try. Chicken satay was ok, since I had really better one than this. Lettuce wraps were good. If you like sweet and sour you’ll love sesame chicken. Cashew chicken was nice and spicy with red peppers. - must have. Stir fry was really good. I liked the panang curry sauce which is has peanut and coconut milk flavor. You can add your own amount of veggies and make it spicy with Jalapeños. You can choose any type of meat, sauce and entree. Like different types of rice and noodles. I personally went with Chinese noodles. Over all a good place to hang out.

Big Bowl Memoirs: Two Food Lovers and the Unflappable Gwen Last Friday night, the stars aligned, and I finally whisked my lovely wife off to a romantic date. The destination? Big Bowl in Ridgedale Mall, home of her beloved Pad Thai. We were so on the ball that we arrived 15 minutes early for our 6:30 PM reservation, and the host, perhaps fearing we might start a flash mob in the waiting area, seated us promptly. The booth was right next to the bar, a spot I eyed with suspicion, but my wife was thrilled, so who was I to argue? Enter Gwen, our server, who doubled as the bartender and possibly the mall's security guard in her spare time. Her face fell when we ordered water, a beverage clearly beneath her mixology skills. My wife, ever the empath, sensed Gwen's disappointment and ordered Green Tea. Gwen's face? Still unimpressed. She's a no-nonsense kind of gal, which clashed with my wife's love for playing "20 Questions: Restaurant Edition." We ordered two Chicken Pad Thais with shrimp and a side of white rice for that extra culinary flair. The ambiance was perfect for deep conversation, despite the parade of patrons passing by. The lighting was so flattering; my wife looked like a supermodel. Either that, or I'm just head over heels in love. Probably both. Gwen was attentive but not clingy, a balance as delicate as the red chili sauce that nearly melted my face off. Pro tip: approach with caution! I devoured 90 percent of my plate while my wife daintily nibbled 10 percent of hers. Next time, we'll just order one and save room for dessert. But hey, leftovers for days! The meal was a hit, and my fortune cookie promised a "usual gift freely given." I'm still puzzling over that one, but I'll take it. Big Bowl, you've earned a solid 4.75 stars from this satisfied customer. Keep up the great work, and Gwen, if you're reading this, we'll order something other than water next time. Maybe even something with bubbles. But don't get too excited; we might just mean Seltzer.

Big Bowl is average. Typical chain restaurant food and service. We had the chicken potstickers which were good. They are crispy on one side which adds a nice texture. The sesame chicken was decent. It was very saucy this time and a touch too sweet. We also had the cherry bomb shrimp which was a special. This dish was a disappointment. Despite the name, it was flavorless. Service was meh. Our server was a little aggressive is her mannerisms. She quite possibly was just overwhelmed. Either way, service is always shaky at this location is our experience. This place also needs a deep clean. The floors are always dirty. Tables have a shiny sticky look to them. The womens bathroom was not clean either.

Wife and I were looking for some Chinese and decided on Big Bowl as we had eaten at one several years ago and seemed to remember enjoying it. This night, I had the Cashew Chicken, my wife had the Kung Pao chicken and we also ordered egg rolls and garlic green beans. The service was ok. The food came out reasonably quick and the food was pretty good but to me was not worth the almost $80 we paid for it including tip. While the food was tasty, it was not $80 tasty. Due to the cost, I don’t know that I would visit here again.

Use to LOVE Big Bowl. Now the prices are INSANE! We got the special tuna avocado roll which was good but very little tuna for the price. The cold noodles appetizer was ok. The pad thai is HORRIBLE. The color was very pale for a pad thai so immediately knew something was off. It had zero flavor other than almost soap. The chef in the kitchen saw me try my dates pad thai and started laughing when he saw the face I made. The tuna poke bowl was confusing. It had flavor but never have I had a poke bowl that was loaded with lettuce, fried onion strings and green peppers. It was a salad, not a poke bowl. The tuna seemed like it came already cubed, so maybe that is why there was not much of it in the roll?! After this experience I won't be returning to big bowl. That pad thai..... so disappointing.

Awful service, and the food was drenched in oil—about five gallons on a single plate. I’ll never go back. In fact, I’d be surprised if they stay in business doing things the way they are now. “On top of that, they demand a minimum 20% tip… for what? For the so-called ‘great service’ or for the hospital bill I’ll have to pay after eating that nasty food “I swear I got diarrhea right after eating there. This place isn’t just bad—it’s dangerous.

When we walked in, the hostess called it “thigh” food. That seemed strange. As we were being seated, I noticed dried food on the supposedly clean plates on our table and immediately said we didn’t want to use that plate. Our server seemed awkward and a little unprofessional in her mannerism but we didn’t consider it a deal breaker. We ordered pad Thai and orange chicken. When the food came, it looked underwhelming and the portion sizes were small for the high prices. Neither of us liked our dishes at first bite - my pad Thai was dry and not sweet like normal pad Thai. His orange chicken tasted like crunchy pieces of coating with a minute amount of meat inside, and the “orange” sauce did not taste like orange sauce at all. It was very unpleasant. We sat at our table not eating and waited for the server to come back to our table so we could tell her we didn’t want our food. But after waiting a few minutes and no visit from our server, we just got up and left. We will not be back nor would we recommend this restaurant.
