Let me tell you the staff are excellent and very friendly. The food was exceptional. You better come hungry, more than I could eat.. The only complaint is the condiments on table need to be wiped down. They were sticky. Definitely will return

I like their food, but you never know what you will get. That could be due to different cooks in the kitchen. Today, the potato salad is watery, the cornbread has no taste, and the rice is not thoroughly cooked. The mac and cheese and cabbage are pretty good. I gave it four stars because I have had good food here in the past, and the customer service is pretty good. I don't go back to this location as often as I do the other soul food restaurants because I don't know if it's going to be the same as the last time or water down and undercooked food.

tihe atmosphere was good for a Sunday morning. They had inspirational music playing which I like but it wasn't loud or overbearing. The cashier was friendly and got our order just right. The lady came out from the back to fix it she acknowledged us and asked us how we were doing which was nice. You can tell she had a spiritual attitude as well. The place was not ideal for families eating in there are only a few tables with 2 to each table. I don't mind that though because it just right with the cozy atmosphere. We got our food to go and it was just two of us so that was fine. I will definitely be back. I do recommend for others to try. Their prices are great for what you get.

Great breakfast! Small diner with super friendly staff. Food was very good. Don't let the location adjacent a gas station fool you, Soul Haven is worth a stop.

My total for an oxtail plate and banana pudding was 44.99. I received 2 small bones with very little meat and another small bone with no meat. Not worth the money. Too bad because the flavor was good, but I won’t be back.

First of all, let me say this building is old. It can be hard to keep something like that clean. That’s my biggest concern with this restaurant, added to that it tends to be very hot in the warmer month. Chairs and tables are dirty. Now let’s move on to the positive. The food was amazing. Chopped steak, vegetable medley and country fried steak were a few of the items on our table. All that and the sides were very good, fresh and hot. Great home/southern/soul cooking, whatever you want to call it. Good service, friendly people. Affordably priced lunch specials.

Went here looking for some good breakfast and really didn’t get it. Leaving two stars because the lady was nice. The biscuits were burnt and the grits were subpar and the lemonade was ok but barely got any since the whole cup was filled with ice. Not planning on going back.

Food was straight TRASH! The green beans had so much salt that they couldn't be eaten. They put my yeast roll and hush puppies in my gravy, both were soggy by the time I received the food from Door Dash. I took a couple of bits and threw it in the garbage.

While I wholeheartedly give my highest rating for the customer service, which was attentive and friendly, the food fell far short of expectations. Based on previous customer reviews it seems to be hit or miss. I stopped in, to enjoy what I anticipated would be a delightful meal. However, after waiting longer than I had hoped, I opted to take my order to go. This decision, unfortunately, led to my disappointment when I finally got to sample my meal. To begin with, the catfish I had been looking forward to was rubbery and tasted like tilapia. What I thought was broccoli, rice, and cheese casserole turned out to be more akin to garlic soup and the cornbread, was dried out. As someone who genuinely loves supporting local businesses, I found it disheartening to leave with such a negative impression. While the service was commendable, the food simply did not live up to the high standards set by their hospitality. Unless changes occur, I don’t think I can justify a return.

Wanted to support our local restaurant, so we stopped in during their posted hours. Workers inside, doors locked. You can see by the picture of the hours and the clock behind that we were there during business hours. 🤷‍♂️ We went to Texas Roadhouse instead.
