Excellent pho. Has generous amount of toppings. Lots of beef tendons. One piece with every bite. Highly recommend B6 pho dac biet.
This place is small, but the seating is comfortable. The food was delicious. Portions are large. And, it is priced affordably. I got lemongrass beef noodles and loved it.
Delicious wings and grilled pork spring rolls!
The best food I ever eat. I recognize people come here to eat!
There was so many options here. This place is definitely worth checking out. We appreciated the staff. They were very helpful, kind and had good recommendations. They have a large drink menu as well and we enjoyed the milk tea with Boba. It was delicious, not overly sweet, and the Boba it's self was very good.
Incredible food, warm service, and a beautiful setting! The attention to detail at this restaurant is impressive, from the decor to the plating. The service was exceptional—our waiter was attentive and made sure we were comfortable throughout the meal. The pho was absolutely delicious, with a complex and deeply savory broth that was clearly simmered to perfection. The banh mi was another standout, with fresh ingredients and a perfect crunch from the baguette. The ambiance was peaceful yet stylish, making it a great spot for a casual meal or a special night out.
This pho restaurant is amazing and in good location, the service is great and the food is excellent definitely a bang for your buck location.
Food was good, service was good. I ordered my food on the phone, for take-out. They also have online ordering. I got a half order of spring rolls with pork and shrimp. - I asked how many rolls comes in the half order, vs the full. I was told 2 vs 4. When I've previously had spring rolls from other restaurants, they've always been large and filling, so I ordered the half order. But, I should've ordered the full, because the spring rolls were tiny.😅 But the rolls were good, and the dipping sauce was delicious! 😋🤤 I love boba drinks! They had a yummy list of drinks to choose from, but I held back from ordering one, because I had other plans to get ice cream from my favorite ice cream place for dessert. - But, next time, I plan to order a boba drink.
I cannot believe how quick they are! As soon as we sat down and they brought us menus and came out so fast. Good sized portions
Super fire🫰🏻 I am a self certified pho lover and their soup left me bloated yet satisfied, very joyous, and still begging for more. The strong delicious taste of their food will leave your taste buds in an ecstatic state for hours. Went here two times during my vacay to really savor in chopstix’s greatness🔥 U guys need to visit for sure😛
The pho was ok , but they spring rolls and the egg rolls were fresh and delicious.
Need a cheaper dinner option, and still want good quality? This is the place!
Great Vietnamese food, very big menu, very quick order fill (I called in an order to-go) as it was ready in just a few minutes. Reasonably-priced, good location only a couple of minutes up the hill from Fisherman's Wharf. They also have a very very good website with tons of photos of choices. RECOMMEND!
OMG! I’m from out of town and walked down to eat dinner the last night I was in town. Let me tell you, it left me craving Vietnamese food in a way that no other restaurant could satisfy! The food was beyond your regular pho and stir fry. I had the most delish salad and an AMAZING vegan pho. The best pho broth EVAR!! Check it out if you get the chance.
Delicious, and great value. Pho is aromatic and flavorful. A tad sweet for my personal taste but at least they don't cheat by loading the MSG. Combination pho includes non-traditional elements like shrimp and grilled chicken which is interesting... Bun Bo Hue is unexpectedly fabulous. Spicy and full of beefy goodness. Even better than most places I've had in Southern California. Place was packed but they got the food rolling out like no one's business.
Incredible food! Every time im vacationing in the area i go here for almost all my meals. Noodle soup bowls are MASSIVE. The wonton and seafood bowl are my favorite. The basil eggplant is probably my favorite thing on their menu. Lemongrass wings for the app is my go to but the vietnamese eggrolls are good too. Would not recommend the bbq pork dish- the flavor was good but the serving is smaller than the others and my meat was mostly bone. Finish it off with one of their boba teas which there must be 50 flavors of. I really like the lychee one.
Great authentic viet food, great flavors unlike the average overly sweet stuff that you usually get from other places. Server was really nice and helpful too. This place is a must try.
Really good pho and shaken beef was great as well. Nice stop along the PCH. Service was excellent, pricing is reasonable
The food was really good and this place was really crowded and I can see why. The pho I ordered was delicious and the price was very affordable. They give you a lot of food for the cost. The chilli sauce is super hot. I can usually handle spices very well, therefore be careful with the chilli. My waitress was really nice and she checked on me one time to see how I was doing.
Fantastic Vietnamese restaurant. Cozy atmosphere and delicious and affordable food with attentive staff. Definitely recommending it. :)
While visiting Monterey for three nights, my partner and I discovered this gem. We got takeout here 3 nights in a row, never got the same thing twice and everything was delicious
We ordered 1 Bbq pork and shrimp ( number 12), noodle soup (#6) and wonton. One portion is enough for an adult, however we are four to share three above portions - a child and that's enough for us. Price is reasonable, they have good taste boba milk tea as well. These are Vietnamese food with a bit modified with addtional vegetables in the soup/ rice noodle, which is totally fine to me- Vietnamese :) You can dine in or outside, have parking for cars.
This place is pure Vietnamese awesomeness,it has really tasty food, fast and courteous service and really cool ambiance (for the outdoor dining). Plenty of parking outside. We had: Green papaya salad 5/5 (must try) Bun bo hue 5/5 Pop corn chicken 5/5 Stir fry ramen noodles 5/5 Vegetarian pho 4/5 Spring roll 5/5
This place turns tables quick! Extremely efficient. We arrived and it was full (we were the only ones waiting) and they turned a table in minutes. We sat down, ordered, and our food was out in minutes too! My husband got beef pho and I got Bun Bo Hue. Both were great. Nice spot for a quick and yummy bite!
My wife and I recently visited Chopstix Vietnamese Restaurant and had a delightful experience! We ordered boba, pork spring rolls, and the BBQ pork slice rice dish, all of which were delicious. The portions were generous, offering great value for the price. The atmosphere is welcoming, and there's plenty of parking available, making it convenient and stress-free. This spot is definitely a gem for affordable and yummy Vietnamese cuisine. We're already looking forward to our next visit and highly recommend it to anyone craving authentic flavors!
Little Vietnam in Monterey.. Best food so far hands down in this beautiful city.. I'm talking about flavor Town. Com Huge portions Top Quality Price is the kicker for this amazing food. We had a little bit of everything on the menu.. I take my hat off to the crew and staff members of this wonderful establishment. Please keep up with your Amazing food and service.. You guys Rock!!!
If you’re looking for good food at a very reasonable price in Monterey, Chopstix is a great local spot. The portions are generous, the flavors are solid, and the prices are much more affordable compared to many restaurants in the area. It’s simple, casual, and perfect for a quick, satisfying meal without spending too much. A hidden gem for locals who want quality food at a fair price. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This restaurant is always my favorite whenever I visit town. The Shaken Beef is truly outstanding — cooked to perfection, seasoned just right, and bursting with flavor. I love the fried rice and pho too, with their rich, authentic taste and thoughtful preparation. I recommend it to anyone looking for delicious food and a friendly, welcoming place to dine.
I’m so glad I found Chopstix Vietnamese Restaurant in Monterey! The food here is absolutely delicious. Every dish is made with care, and you can taste the freshness in every bite. I especially love their pho – it’s flavorful and comforting. The staff are amazing too! They’re always so kind, attentive, and professional. They make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. It’s rare to find a place with both great food and such warm service. This restaurant is now one of my favorite spots to eat in town. I’ve recommended it to many of my friends, and they’ve all loved it as much as I do. Whether you’re visiting Monterey or live nearby, you should definitely stop by Chopstix. It’s worth every visit. I plan to return often – this place is perfect for regular meals and special occasions alike.
Unpretentious location, but on entering we were greeted by a pleasant, welcoming server who seated up. Our apperizers were served quickly. The Calamari and the shrimp rolls (off menu) were exactly what we hoped for. A satisfying start. The main dishes followed soon after. The noodles for rice substitution was made without fuss, and the food was expertly cooked and presented. Our heartfelt thanks to the chef for a job well done. Good food at a reasonable price. What more can anyone ask for!
This Vietnamese restaurant is owned by Vietnamese. However, if you want a 100% authentic Vietnamese food, you may need to drive to San Jose to find food in the big Vietnamese community there. I spoke with the owner. He said that when he started, he used all ingredients for Vietnamese food, but many customers (non Vietnamese and non Asians) didn't like, so he had to adjust which is acceptable for me. Even though the food is not 100% authentic Vietnamese food, but I'm happy to give 5 stars because it's still better choice for healthy food than unhealthy fast food while traveling. The price is very reasonable for the expensive town of Monterey. We came for very late lunch (2:30pm), so we didn't have to wait long even though it's quite busy at this time. I don't know how busier it'd be during the main meal times. The staff is very nice, and the owner is very friendly. Updated: I came back for dinner, and this time I ordered combination pho. I really enjoyed it after over two week vacation with full of unhealthy fast food (burgers, sandwiches, and pizzas...). As usual, the owner is very friendly with his customers, and people feel good and welcome with him.
Hidden gem by the Del Monte Mall! The service was great, fast, and attentative. The food options were plentiful and the prices were great! I really enjoyed their veggie wraps and their house rice. The dining area is on the smaller side, but there's also outdoor seating. The restroom was very clean!
First one of the three I ever visited and still my favorite. The wonton soup is everything and the basil popcorn chicken is delicious. The atmosphere is welcoming. I eat solo and I don't feel rushed even though it's dinner time and the place is busy....honestly when you're eating hot soup it's not like you can rush....😁
This is a great small cozy restaurant with reasonable price. I enjoyed the dine in and take out. Will definitely come back here again when in town. The taste was good, portion of the meal was plenty to fill your stomach, the cook was perfect, food decoration was nice, and the polite service was wonderful. We was coming late due to a long trip, the restaurant was passionate to let us in to order to go, this kindly heart that we will remember. Most of the restaurants were closed during the time we arrived there. Keep up the excellent work.
Some of the lower cost food you will find in the area. It was good enough for the cost relative to location, but not 5 star worthy
Pho was really good, but a bit low an protein. Other dishes very authentic and delicious. Would definitely go back. Great quality for its value.
Good pho, their bbq pork sandwich- so delishhh. The veggie egg rolls were to die for!
Best Vietnamese sandwiches around you'd have to go to the city to find any comparable explanation point the seafood Pho was the worst!! The Monterey restaurant is great as is the caramel location but the Salinas location is BAD‼️ YOU'D NEVER KNOW OR THINK IT WAS RELATED TO THE TWO OTHERS ‼️
I’ve been coming here for years and the food is great, but recently they changed bread for the banh mi (sandwiches), and the bread is not good. I really hope they go back to the other bread or find a different bread. This one is tough and doesn’t taste good. I’ll try it again one more time, but if it’s the same bread I probably won’t be ordering the sandwiches anymore.
Just wow! If you’re into Vietnamese Cuisine and visiting Monterey, definitely give it a shot. Everything we ordered was tasting good and their prices so low. Keep it going. Popcorn Chicken and Egg Rolls were like the usual appetizers. Chicken Noodle Soup was out of the world. So good that it just took all the stars. Grilled Five Spice Chicken, we thought it would be like noodles but instead it’s like a salad. Chicken in it was delicious but when it’s in a salad, it’s a let down. We need a cooked noodle dish with this chicken. Coming to boba, they have a huge menu. Ordered taro and strawberry milk tea. Taro with the standard boba was good. Strawberry milk tea was okay but Lychee coconut jelly was too sweet, avoid this topping. Second visit: We opted for Chicken Noodle Soup, House Fried Rice, Basil Eggplant, and Fried Chicken Wontons during our visit. The Fried Chicken Wontons were delicious and highly recommended. The Chicken Noodle Soup had its usual tasty flavor. The Basil Eggplant from the specialities menu was incredibly yummy, and we couldn't resist finishing it along with the accompanying rice. The House Fried Rice was decent, although it didn't quite match up to the deliciousness of the basil eggplant. For beverages, we ordered Taro Milk Tea and Vanilla Latte Mocha Blast. The Taro Milk Tea was alright, but we particularly enjoyed the Mocha Blast, even though it had a slush-like consistency. After about an hour, it melted and became enjoyable to drink. We have become regular patrons of this restaurant whenever we visit Monterey.
I'm not overly familiar with Vietnamese cuisine, so I can't really comment if this was good or bad. We mainly chose this place because it had an entire menu section dedicated toward vegetarian/vegan food, and it was right next door to our hotel. We ordered noodles + vegetables, and spicy BBQ tofu. They were both fine. Nothing to get excited about, not hot or spicy, pretty middle of the road taste-wise. My favorite is Thai food and I like it pretty spicy, so compared to that, this was bland. But it didn't taste bad, that's for sure. It just wasn't up to my usual level of flavor, which in my opinion Thai food is very flavorful. Any other Asian cuisine besides Thai generally tastes bland to me, so that's my yardstick. I give it four stars because of the extensive section dedicated to vegetarian/vegan items. That's my number one concern when choosing a restaurant. The only weird thing about this place is the booth we were sitting in. See the photo, and check out the pole that is inside the booth, not allowing you to sit close to the table. The pole prevents the seat from being close to the table, so you kind of have to sit on the edge of the seat once you start eating. Plus you can't enter the booth from the left side, the pole blocks you from sitting down on that side. Just a bit strange; I've never encountered a restaurant with that design before.
Service was horrible. Waited at least 15 minutes for our server to acknowledge us and our meals did not come out together. Two plates came out first then had to wait 15 minutes for the last one. Be careful at the register, the suggested tip percentages are inflated. - BBQ Pork Spring rolls were dry, and 4 spring rolls is really 2 spring rolls cut in half. - Pho was good! - Beef Glass Noodles were bland and the beef was very chewy. - Thai Crunch Salad was good but a really small portion for an entree.
The food is fast and yummy but PLEASE PLEAAAAASE bring back the old veggie egg rolls. The new ones are not good.
You only fail when you stop trying to find a good food. I was in the mood for a Vietnamese cuisine in the Monterey area and with Siri’s help, she directed me to Chopstix. Chopstix is an asian fusion Vietnamese restaurant that offer a wide variety of Pho, noodle soups, rice bowls and boba drinks. Bingo! It’s located in the corner of Munrasa and Robles aves by the 1 PCH fwy in Monterey. We arrived today to grab a late lunch and one of the staff gave a perfunctory greeting. We sat the middle of the restaurant near the 50 inch tele. Indoor dine in was spacious, neat and odor free. We perused their menu and was flabbergasted by their wide spread food/boba list. We ordered pho’s, shrimp rolls and boba teas. I asked for spoon and fork since Im not skilled enough to use chopstick. Lol. Hehehe. Their food were great and very flavorful. Similarly, the boba teas and slush and boba pearl were taste good. I enjoyed it! Service was on point. Serving was slightly above average. Prices were reasonable. Rear parking lot was available. Overall, we had a good food experience. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Reasonably priced Vietnamese inspired chain local to the Monterey and Carmel area. The pho is reasonably priced and decent but the rice dishes are average at best. I would also skip the egg rolls (fried) as they taste like your average Chinese take out egg rolls, not Vietnamese at all.
It's a PHO place!!! Small and cute and even though it is small they have several seating. There is a private parking lot which you know makes me happy!!! So our order was takin right away but it took awhile for the food to come. They weren't that busy and we barely saw the staff. They have a pretty small counter with a kitchen in the back. They bring the food when it's ready but you have to go to the counter to pay so remember what you ordered. The PHO tasted like the standard PHO nothing special. But the chicken wings were really good. It tasted like Asian zing with a crispy twist!!! We also ordered Vietnamese coffee and it was delish! My friend ordered yellow curry chicken, looked really good. The rice was way over cooked though, and yes I tasted it! It was mushy! The downside to this tiny place is the restroom is outside near the trash so don't ask...yes it smelled. And the bad thing about it this is also where the front door is.
Probably the only "classic" Vietnamese restaurant in Monterey. Decided to hit this up the morning after a night of wedding drinking. Needed some pho to come back to life! It was simple and rejuvenated me. Much needed! The pho is pretty simple quality, but overall it did the job. A good amount of meat to noodle ratio. I also got a half order of summer rolls. These were subpar and weren't rolled very well, but still good. The Vietnamese Iced Coffee was a but weak too and too watered down. Overall, a good enough place when your craving Vietnamese food, especially if you need something comforting!
Busy time 7pm. Not sure if short staff or not so organized but not great service. Not sure why spoon not prepared with fork chopsticks. All had to ask fr spoon. Forgot our drinks and my disn came out at room temperature not hot reasonable price not sure if other locations same. Not sure if worth to return
Was been on road trip for a week and sick of all burgers and steaks. Found this place on google with good reviews says best pho in town. To he honest, I was pretty disappointed. I am half Vietnamese and eat pho every week. The shop is small but clean, service is attentive and friendly, but the pho is really around average. Medium portion but the soup was bland and only warm not hot. I still give them 3 stars but I wanna leave a review for out of town customers like me: if you have had decent and authentic pho before, you may be disappointed. If you okay with something mediocre, then this might be okay for you
Visitors out of town and was super disappointed with the taste of the food. Its really catered to Meeka people. Green payaya salad had no flavor, chicken bbq was oily and my FIB dessert had a hole in the container so it spilled in my entire bag.
Our waiter was nice. The only downfall was half way into eating my pho and as I dig into my rice pho noodle I saw a dead fly 🪰. I immediately got disgusted and didn't want to eat it anymore. The waiter offered to make me a new one but I have a small stomach and was full already and was already disgusted by the fly. He offered to take off my pho off my tab due to the dead fly. I was thankful and thanked him. The owner came back and insisted that the fly didn't come from the kitchen but from outside since we were sitting outside and will not take it off our tab and brought a new pho, which I was already full because after I saw the fly, I set my pho aside and ate my son's chowfun because he was full and there was a lot left. Disappointed and didn't want to leave a tip but because we're a party of 6+ we have to leave a 18% gratitude and a $20 mandatory tip. We will not be coming back to this place. First and last time here and would not recommend this place to our friends nor relatives. I gave it a 2 stars instead of 1 because our waiter was nice and the rest of our other foods were good. My oldest were impressed with her wonton soup. But because of their boss, we will be getting our wonton soups elsewhere.
Quality of pho was just medium, I had to ask server for water, otherwise she would probably not offer at all, BBQ pork is more like a sweet and sour sauce pork, not at all Vietnam type BBQ pork.
I just picked up an order here and it was missing the extra sauces that I paid for and I put the wrong spring rolls
Very mediocre food - made the cheapest way possible. Tried 3 meals - all 3 were trash.
So let me start off by saying I love chopsticks. I have been going to it since it 1st opened in Seaside and not the new location the location that used to be by the laundromat. I was in a hurry today and stopped by the 1 in Monterey for some steamed rice. I had food in the crock pot and just needed rice. Never been to this location but I asked the lady for an order of steamed rice and asked what size it was and she showed me the container it came in. So I ordered 2 they weren't even half full. Some family members had no rice with their dinner. I will eat at Chopsticks again because the food is good but won't be getting rice in a hurry from here anymore lol
Some of the worst pho I've ever had. Broth had next to zero flavor and the shredded chicken was overcooked to the point it was truly hard to chew. We had to amp up the flavor with home sauces just to make it reasonably ok. $40 for 2 meals, and these great reviews, I would have expected so much better.
Bug in the soup! My boyfriend and I both ordered Pho and boba. Right when he went to stir his soup, we noticed a bug floating in his bowl. We called our waiter (a young man with earrings and a Naruto shirt) over inform him of the bug and ask for a new bowl of soup. He glanced at the bug and casually said “oh sorry about that” and later came back with a bowl of soup (don’t know if it was the same bowl, we hadn’t added anything to it yet). When he returned he said the same deadpan “sorry about that”. Not a huge deal, we were very hungry so we finished our meal and went to pay. Our same waiter checked us out. No mention of the bug, and didn’t offer a discount, compensation, or anything. Seems like maybe it’s a common occurrence in the restaurant. We noticed another similar bug crawling on one of the paintings. Safe to say not getting pho here again. Maybe boba though as it was pretty good.
We gave this place a shot based on reviews. Tried the “specialty plates” beef with snow peas and beef with string beans. My pregnant wife found uncooked pieces of beef. I found pieces of beef that were burnt to a crisp. The service for takeout was good and quality of ingredients were good, but wow this is the most inconsistently cooked meal I’ve ever had. One of the dishes was super salty to the point of inedible. I know this area isn’t know for asian food, but this borders on unsafe.
I asked the server if this was the normal amount of chicken. He said no. But that they were too busy. He then said let me check if I can get you more. He then said sorry, we are too busy. What a let down of such a good restaurant. You guys should be ashamed of yourself. Mikey would always make this right
Food is decent but had asked for some lemon slices and they charged us $0.25 per lemon slice. Most restaurants do not charge and they did not let us know about this charge. I thought this was super tacky since we ordered an entree and drink each, in addition to our waters. We have never gone back to this place since.
