Efficiency and Freshness at Gianna’s If you’re looking for a spot that runs like a well-oiled machine, this is it. Gianna’s is a super busy place, but don't let the crowd intimidate you. They have 2-3 cashiers working the front who manage to get you in and out remarkably quick. The Experience One of the coolest parts of the visit is the transparency. You can see through the windows as the entire staff works tirelessly, hand-crafting various components of their menu items. It adds a great "behind-the-scenes" feel to the meal and proves they aren't cutting corners on prep. The Pizza The presentation of the pizza was top-tier—it looked great when it hit the table, loaded with toppings like black olives, sausage, peppers, and mushrooms. The Sauce: You can tell they use quality ingredients; the sauce tasted incredibly fresh, which is often the make-or-break element of a good pie. The Crust: The bake was solid, providing a nice golden-brown foundation for the mountain of toppings. The Verdict Here is where we hit a bit of a crossroads. While the quality of the ingredients was obvious, both my wife and I felt it was lacking flavor. It’s a bit of a head-scratcher because everything looked right and tasted fresh, but the "wow" factor in the seasoning just wasn't there for us. Maybe it’s just us—everyone’s palate is different—but we found ourselves wishing for a bit more punch to match the great aesthetics. If you value speed, fresh ingredients, and a clean, bustling atmosphere, it’s definitely worth a try. You might find the flavor profile hits your mark better than it did ours!
We ordered the Andy’s Southwest Chicken Pizza (XL – $40), a salad ($15) and a fountain drink ($5). Andy’s Southwest Chicken Pizza had a really strong mozzarella cheese pull, a signature white tangy sauce and homemade spicy pico de gallo along with fresh ingredients like garlic, tomatoes and onion which made the pizza so irresistible. If your like pizza, this is a must go/ have, me & the wife split a small pizza, custom made with 1/2 pepperoni and the other was Margherita and they were both great , the best way to tell if this place is any good was by the fact they were Kangaroo island, really hopping!
First time at Gianni’s. Went on Valentine’s, at 4;30pm. Didn’t think it would be that busy. It was packed! The line to order was long but moved quickly. Found a table for two as they were leaving and staff came over to help clean up. There were plenty of staff who were great!! The margharita pizza was delicious, flavorful with plenty of cheese, large slices of fresh tomato and basil. Crust was perfect. The only negative was traffic! Literally took us 2 hours to leave Pacific Grove. Not sure if it’s always like that or it was because of the Pebble Beach golf tournament this weekend.
Pizza is really good. It's not the best I've ever had. But they have alot more than just Pizza. Good food all around great atmosphere. Great location.

Soooo good! We arrived into Monterey starving and was recommended this place by our hotel staff! So yummy that my husband wanted to eat here EVERY DAY!
This has to be the best pizza I’ve ever had. I got the chicken alfredo pizza with no bacon and the crust was the real star. For appetizers, I really enjoyed the combo platter that came with 4 wings, 4 mozzarella sticks, and 4 jalapeño poppers. The staff and bartenders were also very friendly. A must visit when you’re in Monterrey.
Hubby and I stayed in Monterey for the weekend and were told to eat at Giannis by some friends. The food was good, but the pizza was AMAZING!! The crust was crispy at the bottom but fluffy and chewy and soft all at the same time. The toppings were delicious and fresh. Its been 3 weeks since we have been there and my mouth is drooling as I write this review and thinking about my combination pizza. We live 3 hours away and we want to take a day trip JUST to go eat pizza. Hahaha. The place isnt anything fancy, but its a cool spot to hang out, have drinks (both alcoholic and non), and eat some good food.
Definitely one of the better pizza places I've been to over the years. Just the fact that this place is not far from the ocean makes your appetite go through the roof. Also a very warm atmosphere, with good service. I also came here once as part of a large group and we were all very pleased. I still remember my first time here even years later.
Ordered a large pepperoni pizza for takeout and it was more than enough for a family of four—super cheesy, gooey, and loaded with pepperoni. We placed the order about 20 minutes before closing, and they were still very accommodating. The ambience inside was cool and relaxed. Great food and great service.

Wow this was our favorite place on the peninsula! Service was awesome, the kids at the counter were so polite and caring. The food was delicious and huge portions. We also loved watching the Giants game on the TVs near the bar. Highly recommend!

We ordered a few pizzas and dishes. Cauliflower crust margarita pizza was fantastic, full size meat pizza was really good, ravioli was tasty, clam linguine was ok - they didn't b drain the pasta so it was sitting in a puddle of water. Breadstcks and marinara were delicious.
Group of six of us had lunch here at the bar. I ordered the sausage sandwich and it was delicious. All the other ladies liked their food too. One of the women pizza came out and it was burnt so they remade it but they made us wait a while, so probably wouldn’t come back just because of that but overall, the food was good.

Giannis Pizza is always a place we like to eat at when we visit Monterey. We decided to get a pizza on our first day of vacation, Sunday, October 26, 2025. They were very busy. We ordered a small pepperoni. When they brought our pizza, it was burned all around the edge. We decided to keep our disappointment to ourselves. It was delivered hot but not much flavor and of course burned. We decided to give it another try on Thursday, October 30, ordering a small Meat-zilla. To our dismay, the pizza arrived burned on the edge and missing both pepperoni and beef. Giannis Meat-zilla menu description: A magnificent combo loaded with meat: Italian salami, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, Italian sausage, beef, and linguica. This is not the same good pizza we have enjoyed in the past.
Atmosphere is amazing. Customer service could use some help. The manager was not welcoming and overwhelmed. The pizza we ordered did not come out as requested. Bread sticks were amazing.

We were excited to visit Gianni's after reading about them in the San Francisco Eater. Upon entering, there was some confusion due to two separate counter areas, no host, and no signage. After standing confused at what appeared to be a hostess station, we asked someone at the counter about the process. The process is to order at the counter and seat yourselves. After ordering, we waited about 45 minutes for our pizza and noticed someone who arrived 15 minutes after us that were served well ahead of us (they had the same style and size pizza as us). This was irritating and interesting. When the pizza arrived, it was scolding hot. When attempting to pick up a slice, the cheese ran off. I waited about 15 minutes for the pizza to cool and enjoyed it. It's very tasty with an original flavor. Sauce and cheese were good. Super floppy due to thin crust with heavy ingredients. I did not expect to be eating pizza for 2 hours on what appeared to be a non-busy day, but it was a nice break in a relaxing pizza setting.
