Coffee Lab

Coffee Lab offers specialty coffee, cold brew, pour-over, and a variety of single origin house beans. During my visit, I ordered a light roast Ethiopian drip and was pleased with its quality. They also offer a selection of dairy-free pastry, and I quite enjoyed the Earl Grey loaf. While seating is somewhat limited, there are some great window spots overlooking the street and a few tables in the back that are good for laptop work or just hanging out.

Coffee Lab & Roasters is an excellent, dog-friendly neighborhood coffee shop with a wonderful staff and just as wonderful coffee. I am a latte drinker and they have the best lattes (hot or iced) and seasonal flavors that could go toe-to-toe with any coffee shop in the city. This is a long overdue review - I've been coming here consistently for about a year and they hit the mark every single time. A good selection of pastries and coffee options, and they also carry some dairy free/gluten free pastries for anyone looking for that. The wait is worth it on the weekends and the line moves quickly.

I’m forever searching for really good local roasted coffee beans so we finally got to Coffee Lab and so far it’s high on my list. I like that the two times we’ve been (just after Christmas and then on a Saturday) their supply of beans was limited- they don’t sit around too long. I did get to take home a bag of Rawanda beans which were so good. The lattes and cappuccino are excellent.

Absolutely loving the summer menu. Their cold brew selection is unmatched with 3-4 different brews on tap at all times. The peach co-ferment is so unique and delicious. I have a super hard time picking between that and the iced honey mango latte. The honeydew matcha is also great, disclaimer; I do tend to like sweet and fruity syrups mixed with my matcha so if that’s your preference it’s perfect. It’s the best neighborhood spot with the nicest baristas!

Good vibes and great drinks! A post online lead me to stop by for one of their 'Summer Specialty Drinks' a Vanilla Pistachio Matcha! It's was soo delicious I was chewing the ice for the last bit of flavor 🤣

Awesome little coffee shop that has core espresso drinks, matcha, brewed coffee, and a rotating seasonal menu with great options. Also has a nice selection of café food options. Everyone is always nice, and it’s a very popular place. My girlfriend considers it the best matcha she’s had in Chicago! Has indoor tabled seating, some bar seating by the front window, and also a small patio space with some tables.

Incredible coffee, roasted in store (I think), with a casual atmosphere that doesn't reek of corporate brand guide like so many competitors. Stumbled upon this bean-tavern halfway through an adventure and the cold brew was excellent. Limited seating and well traveled

My sister and I have been coming here for 4 years now, coffee lab is such a special place! Their fun coffee flavors always taste incredible, the coffee quality is the best, and everyone that works there is so kind. Favorite coffee place in the city!

Their matcha is GOOD. Rich and dark. Less than 14 seats, 5 tables. Summer time they got a couple chairs outside. Has fast wifi. Workers are always very nice

Stopped in for a latte and ended up hanging around longer than I planned because it felt easy to stay. The latte was well steamed and tasted clean and flavorful. The baristas were friendly and even let me sample a seasonal option without making a big deal. The coffee shop is small but bright and has a nice, casual energy. It’s the kind of place I’d tell a friend about.

I got the salted maple latte and I really enjoyed it! I would probably get a different flavor next time tbh (the salted maple had a strong cinnamon flavor), but the actual beans were high quality and not too bitter! Definitely a more busy place and limited seating, so be prepared for that if you plan to do work here :)

I had the blueberry matcha w/ whole milk. It was okay, not terrible but also not very amazing. Blueberry was very subtle barely even there. Matcha was unremarkable. Atmosphere is nice. A few customers, enough seats, good natural light. Nice vibe.
