Sometimes, life gives you a sign and it’s pointing to tacos. When life points the way to tacos I listen. Often times it results in some amazing experiences. El Burro is one of those places. I saw a sign that said tacos and I made in that direction. I passed 4 other Mexican places on my way to El Burro, based on the tacos that I had, I made the right decision. I ordered the street tacos which come in a 3 pack of your choice of meat for about $2/taco. You can mix your protein choices and try a little bit of each. Living in SoCal I’ve had a lot of tacos, some more authentic than others, and some that hardly qualified as good, these tacos stand out as being exceptionally delicious. El Burro is definitely a place I’ll be returning.

After having family and friends recommend El Burro, we decided to give it a shot. The first thing we noticed is that the parking lot and particularly the drive-thru rivaled the most popular In N Out location anywhere. The line spiralled through and around the parking lot. Long before we could lay our eyes on the menu, we were treated to the amazing scent of carne asada, tortillas, Carnitas and a variety of other wonders. The customer service and attention to detail are over the top. When asked if we would like some salsa, available in both Verde and Rojo, we were given a generous supply, along with plenty of napkins, and related items. Their prices are a little higher than a typical drive thru, but then again this isn't fast food, it's sit down quality Mexican food served in a rapid to go manner. My family of three was able to enjoy a filling dinner with plenty of leftovers, at just under $35.00!! That's what is known as an awesome deal!! Honestly, I did find two things a little troubling. The first is that the nearest location is roughly 10 minutes away, and second...too many people love their food, resulting in long lines and equally long waits, neither of which will setup me from returning over and over again! El Burro is fantastic, and a new family favorite. I recommend you check it out, but be warned....their amazing food IS habit forming.

IMO the go-to for authentic Mexican food in the French Valley area. Very friendly service and nicely priced daily specials. Drive thru is quick and easy and dine-in is very comfortable with a Futbol theme.

Fair prices for the area. There's going to be a new Alberto's down Clinton Keith, so this one will get some competition. Their rolled tacos with lettuce, pico, guac, and sc (loaded) are $10 for 5. They are a bit bigger than traditional ones. I crave em so the price doesn't hurt. Apparently people like to vote for senile white folks who make millions in politics, but I digress. Has a drive thru which is awesome when you have kids in the car. I noticed they serve beer there with TV's in dining room. I'll have to try that out.

I was hungry for breakfast this morning and wanted to try something new and found El Burro Taco Shop as an option in my search. I have seen the place many times as I was picking up food orders, but I don’t frequent the area often, so I never went there. I was happy to see it for delivery and I decided to give the place a try! As is my tradition, I will start with the “As Delivered” section of the review. I provide only one photo here as there wasn’t anything special. I will say though, I asked for side containers with my order in addition to the 8 oz Salsa that I paid for, and I did not receive them. Not quite sure why, but I will say that the 8oz container (1/2 pint label on menu) is enough if you’re just looking to dip a few chips and add some to each bite of your burrito like I do. Time to look at the first item, which is a Shredded Beef Hard Shell Taco.  I put it leaning against the salsa as it simply wouldn’t stand up!! I found this to be a tasty taco as a whole and it went well with the salsa. That said, the shredded beef was a bit like jerky and I did not like having the meat come out as I was taking a bite. As a whole though, I really did enjoy this taco, so if you can tolerate that, it is a great taco to eat! The second round of photos is the Carne Combo Breakfast Burrito. I took a photo after I unwrapped it, sliced it in half, and then took a photo of each side as if you were going to eat it. Now, I wasn’t sure what to get as I have never ordered from here, but I was quite pleased! The potatoes were a good size, well cooked, and I thought the balance of ingredients was excellent! Among the most important of things, if one considers the meats in this burrito, is the fact that it was not greasy at all. Everything was perfect and if you like meat without a grease bomb, definitely check this one out! The third item here is the Ham, Egg, Potato, and Cheese Burrito (Gringo Breakfast Burrito on menu). I provided a photo of the burrito, and as before I cut it in half and took a photo of each side so you can see the distribution of ingredients. Quite happy with this item and once again we did not have a burrito that is dripping grease. I was quite pleased with this burrito as well and have no complaints. The flavor of the ham was great, and I didn’t get any of those pesky pieces of non-chewable ham that you sometimes get from places. This burrito is also an excellent choice! Final Verdict: There is not much to complain about where El Burro Taco Shop is concerned! I really enjoyed the salsa that they had and found that it had a nice level of heat to it. As a whole, it really complimented each of the items that I reviewed above. You might want to ask if you want side containers as I’m not quite sure on that one, but the ½ pint of salsa they offer on their menu seems to be more than adequate for a generous application. There are a lot of great places to get a good breakfast burrito from, but I would easily put this in my top three choices!

Food was okay. Ordered wet shredded beef burrito, asked for green sauce, they used red! Of course I didn't open it until ask the way home, can't eat a set burrito while driving. It was okay not a fan of red days so just okay. I also ordered Ceviche, it was so good, but they only give you like 8 tortilla chips and use a small hard (stale) corn tortilla as a lid. I tried to break it and use it like chips but it was terrible! All in all, not impressed. Should've went to Wendy's across the street!!

Every Wednesday, I go here and it’s always the same lady taking the order. She gets the order wrong each and every time; I never once said anything! Sometimes it could be an easy fix. But, this time around she had an attitude when I asked did she put ‘no meat’ on one of the plates. Her response was “Do you not see it on the screen there” as she is pointing at the screen and scrolled. I responded “ Do you have an attitude? It clearly says beef and you always get our order wrong”. She tried to justify her response and say that the kitchen messed up a previous order. Just to get home and the order was still INCORRECT. The food is good but I will no longer order if she is there from now on, that was my final straw. She has tattoos with blonde/black hair. Claims she “remembers” the order but does not because it’s always WRONG. She needs to start listening to the customers order and place it properly.

We eat here frequently (twice a month) and love the food, as a matter of fact, I’ve always recommended them to people looking for great Mexican food. However we have noticed a change the last two times we went. While the food is still tasty, the presentation of the dishes has become sloppy and errors on our orders are now commonplace. Last night was the absolute worst. When you go to El Burro Taco Shop French Valley and order no beans and come home with a plate full of beans, it’s a definite letdown. The rice, which is usually fluffy, flavorful and absolutely delicious was hard and crusty to the point that it was inedible. I had to throw half my dinner in the trash. While the plating was ugly, the enchiladas were still mouthwateringly delicious, hence my 2-star rating. If you like Mexican food and can get past things like order screw ups and sloppy plating that leaks all over everything in the bag, then give them a try. If those kind of issues are a problem for you, like they are for me, then you’d do better to avoid this place!

I have no idea why this place is always so busy besides being the only Mexican restaurant with a drive-thru in the area it doesn’t really have much to offer the food is plan and the salsa is watery Came through around 2 O’clock waited about 35 minutes for a huge burrito 🌯 with no taste Except for the beans Definitely won’t be back

Ordered California burrito and a coke, no pico de gallo, the guy didn't repeat anything back just a total. Fine, no biggie. I asked "it has no pico right?" Doesn't say anything. Then asked if I can get some tomatollo salsa, he throws in something. No response or acknowledgement just hands me the bag. Get home and he put 2 packets of tapatio and the burrito was filled with pico. It was not good and falling apart didn't even eat half of it and threw it away. Waste of $20 and terrible customer service

Placed a DoorDash order like I’ve done several times. Received my soggy undercooked chilaquiles with green sauce. It appears the tortillas were not fried or so lightly fried them were immediately soggy. I also requested red sauce with fried, over hard eggs. The information on the ticket does not match what I requested on DoorDash. I assume this is manually input by staff in house. This is extremely disappointing. I tried to call and get this issue resolved, however I was put on hold and no one returned to the line.

My husband Bought two Surf inter fries we asked for the shrimp to be well done and received it undercooked and as well as the fries on there serving your fries taste like freezer burn and are not fully cooked would not recommend. I also tried to have them fix the issue and they were no help at all for food to be this expensive. It should be good quality and it’s not.

Thank God I felt this piece of metal wire in my mouth before I swallowed it. This was literally in my burrito. Be extremely cautious if you make the mistake of dining here. I will be filing a complaint with the department of public health.
