I had such a wonderful first-time experience at Bendi Wok in New Albany, all thanks to our amazing server, Malia! From the moment we sat down, she was warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Her recommendations were spot-on, and she kept my friend and me smiling the entire time with her sweet and thoughtful service. The food was absolutely delightful — full of flavor, beautifully presented, and paired perfectly with their house-made sauces. I especially fell in love with the chili oil (truly divine). Malia was kind enough to bring me a side to take home, which I unfortunately left on the table before heading out. I’m still thinking about it! She mentioned it’s made fresh daily, and you can genuinely taste the quality in every drop. Our drinks were another highlight: aesthetically pleasing, well crafted, and topped with detailed garnishes that made for perfect food photos. Overall, Malia’s kindness, attentiveness, and knowledge elevated the entire visit. We felt genuinely taken care of, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend Bendi Wok — and if you’re lucky enough to have Malia as your server, you’re in for a great experience!
I will come back with my sister for sure! This food looks so amazing!!! Stephanie was a great server!! Spring rolls-6.7 French Frys—7 Chicken sandwich-8.3 Price-10 Look of people’s food-10 Can’t wait to come back!
The menu was easy to understand and our server answered our questions so we could order quickly. I was hungry; so it was also helpful when the appetizers arrived quickly. All ingredients were fresh, an anomaly these days. Thanks!
Service is absolutely top notch, my man Whit was great and the food was absolutely phenomenal and the atmosphere is perfect. I mean it was just incredible dinner experience. I can't wait to come back and try everything on the menu, pictures speak for themselves!
Absolute excellent experience. Came here with a good friend and sat at the bar. Beth our bartender was super friendly and helpful with suggestions for drinks and food. The crab Rangoon was delicious and not like the basic ones you get at Chinese restaurants. The chicken baos were extremely delicious and highly recommend. The inside was super clean, warm and ultimately a great experience. Beth made all the difference being the bartender and hopefully the establishment will hang on to her.
The vibes of this place were on point! My husband said the cran rangoons were his favorite. I got lo mein and loved that you could customize the level of spice for any noodle dish. We went on a Saturday around 6:30pm and had reservations. I think you'd have luck without them, but I'd make them just in case!
We had a great experience at Bendi! The food was incredible. We got the messy fries, Panang Curry, and the Veggie Bánh Mì and loved them all. The hostess, bar staff and our server were all super friendly, and the atmosphere was awesome. Plenty of vegetarian options, and they were happy to sub out items to accommodate a nut allergy. We can’t wait to come back and try out more of the menu!
One of the best restaurants in Columbus. Very reminiscent of Duck Duck Goat in Chicago. We didn’t have a single bad dish. Highly recommend the messy fries, Panag bang shrimp, sichuan dumplings, pork belly bao, and the Dan Dan noodles. Will definitely be back. Service was top notch!
Bendi Wok n Bar has the best service they are always attentive and efficient. The food is fresh and savory. I would recommend this location in New Albany!
Beautiful interiors, awesome food, and great service. I have been to the Livingston Ave location and loved it there as well. When I found out that they opened a location in New Albany, I was thrilled. Can't wait to frequent this place!
Beautiful and cozy little bistro that drips with Asian style. Well executed menu- my Dan Dan noodles were creamy and had a perfect spice to them. Sumptuous lighting makes for a great date night!
Their staff was very friendly and the food had amazing flavor. Will make sure to come back and eat here again.
incredible. service was 10/10, food was 11/10. i got the lettuce wraps and it was the perfect amount of food. definitely will be back
Cute, fun, and very enjoyable restaurant and bar. Food was excellent, service was very friendly, and the vibe was really great. Happy hour would be a blast here.
We ate there last night for the first time… This is a really nice addition to New Albany! I got a fun cocktail in an elephant mug… it was excellent! My husband got the chicken stirfry and I had pad Thai. The portions were generous and the food was great. Our server was great. We will be back!
Wonderful food. Beautiful decor. Super service.
Great tasting food at reasonable prices. The service and atmosphere was nice too.
Great place to enjoy an upscale Asian fusion with a great drinks. Great place to find a good selection of vegetarian options as well.
Wife and I decided to try it out for lunch and it was amazing! Food was fantastic, and our server Megan did wonderful! She was very attentive, friendly, and took great care of us throughout our meal. Thank you for the wonderful lunch!
Great waitress. Stir fry wonderful. Nice wine
One of our favorite Thai restaurants! We come here almost every month.
Submit it an online order and left off the spicy cucumbers. The chef was kind enough 2. Make them for me and put them in the bag. right them and there. No questions asked. Thank you so much! I love this place.
This environment at this restaurant is top tier. Prices are fair, food is good and there are a variety of options to choose from. Wait times for food are quick. Staff are nice and attentive. Clearly the manager knows what he/she is doing and I respect that.
We tried this restaurant tonight and have nothing bad to say at all. From the moment we walked in we were greeted and seated immediately. Our waitress was very attentive but not invasive. The manager delivered food himself and was very personable. We ordered the egg rolls to start and they were the best we've had. Very delicate and delicious. On to the Cashew Chicken and Pad Tai. Both were outstanding. The small touch of freezing a flower in the ice for our Old Fashions was impressive. We will most definitely be back!
We ate outside on the patio for lunch and it was peaceful. The prices are very reasonable for their food menu and the ingredients are really fresh. This is the second time we have eaten here and will probably be back many more times!
Love Bendi. Better food than your typical stir fry restaurant for the same price. Large portions. Helpful staff. Really hope the restaurant is here to stay! Go check it out!
Loved it! Mare, our waitress was brilliant and very knowledgeable about the menu. I had the Panang Chicken which was fairly straightforward and true to its Thai roots. The old fashioned was amazing. If you get the little donut desert thing, ask for chocolate to dip them in. It was great. Got a chance to meet the owner, who owns about 40 ish restaurants across the state, and he seemed lovely and enthusiastic. Highly enjoyed this.
Tried Bendi today for the first time. Ordered online for pickup. The ordering process was super easy. Food was ready when we arrived to pickup. Best thing: the food was DELICIOUS! Pad Thai with shrimp, Sticky Noodles, Bendi Stir Fry--all were fresh, colorful, flavorful, and a perfect portion size. We liked the chopsticks and packaging too. Will be back soon.
Great place. Food is amazing and drinks is unique. We will be back for sure!
I absolutely love this restaurant! The staff and food are top notch. If you haven’t been, go today!
This was a nice discovery as I waited for my EV to charge up. This place seemed to be a great place for brunch and dinner. I had the Pad Tai, it hit the spot. The staff was great, even the Chief Executive Chef came out to see how I was doing. The purple umbrellas on the front patio is certainly an attention getter. I’ll be back again for brunch.
Cute vibe, food was fresh and tasted great all around. Have some gluten free and vegan items also.
I order take out Panang curry from here probably 2-3x a week. I’m obsessed. I will say I typically order in the evening and the one time I ordered it for lunch it didn’t taste as good as it does during dinner (sorry to afternoon cooks). This restaurant is clean, staff is friendly, and has some unique drinks and menu items. Love this place
If you are searching for the best Asian fusion in New Albany, Ohio, Bendi Wok N Bar is the place you will want to bookmark immediately. The flavors here are unreal. Every dish tastes fresh, vibrant, and wok fired to perfection, and the service is consistently warm and welcoming. I started with their Crab Rangoon, Pork and Veggie Egg Rolls, and Steamed and Seared Dumplings, and every appetizer hit the spot. The sweet chili sauce alone is worth talking about. The Lettuce Wraps with chicken or tofu are another must order, especially if you love something bright, crunchy, and full of texture. For entrees, the noodle dishes absolutely shine. The Drunken Noodles were bold and aromatic, the Pad Thai was perfectly balanced with lime and peanut, and the Cashew Noodle with Chicken had the best crunch. If you like heat, get the Singapore Noodles. If you want something rich and savory, go for the signature Bendi Noodles because they are incredible. I also tried the General Tsos Chicken Stir Fry and the Pepper Steak, and both were packed with flavor and served with fluffy jasmine rice. If curry is your thing, the Panang Curry is a standout with creamy coconut, fragrant lime leaf, and the perfect amount of spice. And do not skip the Fried Rice or the comforting Bendi Soup. Whether you order online for carryout or sit down for dinner, everything is consistently delicious and beautifully prepared. Bendi Wok N Bar New Albany is easily one of the top restaurants in the area for Asian fusion, noodles, stir fry, curry dishes, and small plates. It is the kind of local spot you visit once and immediately add to your rotation. If you are near New Albany and craving bold flavor, this is your place. Highly recommend.
First visit on 10-8-2025. Had found the restaurant through information in the local “614” magazine. Read reviews and due to some of them was a bit hesitant in trying this new to me restaurant. First customer in at lunch today at the New Albany location. Nice looking, comfortable, good vibes good service. Ask the waitress about the menu and received a concise explanation of what was available. Today just food and ice tea. Next time probably a drink. Prices reasonable. Only mango or green ice tea. Green ok but would prefer black. A bit pricey at $5 a glass. Pad Thai with the addition of great steak was quite nice. A bit left over for take home. Tea to go. Nothing like ice tea in the car with the top down on a day like today. A few hard candies came with the check. Was surprised at the near full parking lot at 11. Rest rooms clean and attractive. Look like podcast Harvest Pizza locations as to looks and amenities. Thinking back to the negative reviews….don’t consider them as I found the comments needless after what my good experience was.
I will try their food again for what I ate and for the service I received for what I did not eat. The pork buns with pickled onions are very good and an exceptional small plate option that is also good for an app or sharing. My issue was with the lo mein. One thing that is really great about BWnB's online ordering is it tells you the main ingredients in everything. It gives you the option to add or subtract ingredients as desired. So if you want tofu with your pad thai you can add that as a protein. If you don't want bean sprouts you can select the option to remove them. My lo mein came with extra veg which might be lovely if I didn't hate the smell of fried bell peppers. I called the restaurant and they made it right and apologized. I understand mistakes do happen. It is becoming a rare occurrence to see ownership these days and I truly appreciate that. I will try them again for the buns and for the good service. I skipped the noodles on this trip but they've earned my repeat business for the service and the pork buns.
First time in, My big gripe was that our food came out cold and it took a long time to touch the table. There were only about 5 tables seated in the restaurant so this was likely due to the small kitchen and large amount of take out orders going out. We were a 2 top and were in there for about an hour. We’ll probably give take out a shot sometime and try some different menu items. The soup dumplings were delicious. The pork on the banh mi was dry and forgettable. Gf mentioned her chicken also being tough but otherwise good flavor with her noodles. I’m not so sure I can recommend dine in which is a shame as the atmosphere is quaint and relaxing.
This was my first visit to Bendi. I liked the atmosphere and the food was good. Portions are not overly large and the ingredients are nice and fresh. I had an outstanding cocktail with my meal. Would definitely dine here again.
As someone who travels for food and has dined at thousands of restaurants, I’m always searching for places that bring bold flavor and leave a lasting impression. Bendi Wok N’ Bar in New Albany has quickly become a spot I keep returning to—because of the food. Let’s start with the highlight: the Panang curry. Having traveled to Thailand, I was excited to try it, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much it reminded me of the flavors I experienced overseas. It’s not completely traditional, but it’s rich, bold, and layered with flavor—close enough to bring back memories of my travels. I’ve also tried their Pad Thai, various curries, and other menu offerings, and I can say confidently that this kitchen brings complexity and creativity to the table. They understand flavor and deliver dishes that satisfy. That said, the service and hospitality need improvement. The space itself is modern and inviting, but the overall guest experience could be so much better with a shift in leadership tone. The servers are okay—polite but not particularly engaged. What’s missing is that sense of genuine welcome and care that turns good restaurants into great ones. However, the service and overall hospitality experience fall short of the same standard from the management. As someone who’s taken time to understand how restaurants work from both a customer and an operations standpoint, I’ve learned that pride doesn’t create loyalty—people do. There’s a sense here that maintaining the image or control is more important than connecting with guests. Unfortunately, that mindset doesn’t go far. Restaurants thrive when they make people feel at home, and that starts from the top down. To be clear, this isn’t about rudeness—but about missed opportunities to create something truly special. If Bendi’s leadership focused more on the heart of hospitality—greeting guests with joy, building relationships, and creating memorable experiences—this place could easily become a standout destination in the area. Final thoughts: Come for the food—it’s flavorful, thoughtful, and consistently good. But if the hospitality caught up to the quality of the cuisine, Bendi Wok N’ Bar wouldn’t just be a good restaurant… it would be a great one.
Chicken was dry and tough. Had to take a digestive enzyme after eating the few pieces I did eat. The vegetables and rice were pretty good.
The food here is good but expensive for the size of the portions. And you are better off eating in than taking out as the containers are small. The takeout experience has not been good. First time they didn’t include an entire entry in my order (entry was probably $20+ with extra protein). And the second takeout order was just as bad. I’ve attached a photo of the General Tsos, extra chicken, extra broccoli, fried rice, $30 dollars for the extras. Stuffed into the container was filled with fried rice, 3 broccoli pieces, 5 pieces of chicken. While it is a newer restaurant to the area, this is a second location for them. I hope this feedback will help improve service, but for now, I won’t be ordering takeout.
I dined there two months ago on a casual Wednesday date night with my wife. We enjoyed our meal and was impressed by their pad thai. So we went back last month. It was not the same. I thought perhaps they got a new chef. So we ordered takeout a few days ago. It was sooooo soggy and sweet. We might just try something else next time. It is a disappointment that their pad thai had 3 tastes in our 3 times encounter.
Food was pretty good not amazing but good enough that we thought about going back. But, we had an issue with our bill and how they handled it. We ordered Baos and they suggested we can do a sampler. We mixed two pork belly and one shrimp. The bill came and we were charged 4 more than if we ordered the highest prices bao. I didn't understand why so I asked the manager. He dug in that it is corporate pricing. It wasn't listed on the menu. He indicated he couldn't do anything. After back and forth he removed the whole item which was great but that wasn't what I had issues with. The fact that they charged us an amount greater than anything listed on the menu is what bothered me. Also, they do add service charges for credit card. This also isn't indicated anywhere on the menu or at the host station
Would have been at 3.5 but do to upselling. we were going to orde pork belly bao for $10. Server said you can mix and match. We got 2 pork and 1 shrimp rather than 3 pork. Price was $14. Also $5 extra for messy fries There is an upcharge for credit cards with no warning. When we asked to speak with the manager he blamed corporate and was fake trying to be helpful. Went from a decent meal to a horrible experience. Food was decent but not authentic. Bahn mi needed more pickled veggies. Will not return due to experience. Messy fries were the only thing we would have tried again.
I love the original location. This location is not even close to the same. Maybe the same menu, but that’s where the similarities end. It was very loud. It’s extremely open. The tables are close together so you basically can overhear everything. Making the experience more awkward was that the servers have to go between the tables instead of beside them. Meaning someone’s butt will be in your face and our table was in the middle of two other tables. The table was extra wobbly too. I ended up stuffing my napkin under my side of the table so our drinks wouldn’t spill it was that wobbly. There was also a large party behind us. The booths are long so a bench is on one side and two chairs are at the other. They could’ve saved space and had less noise had they designed them like the original. When our food came out, the server at the table next to us was there. The person delivering the food was trying to hand it to us over the other server. I couldn’t hear what he was calling out. We had soda and were never offered a refill until we were leaving. The poor server had tables all over the place. She barely pId attention to our table since it was in the middle. The only reason why I gave two stars was for the food. It’s pretty good, but the original is better. I won’t be going back to this location. I’m glad we didn’t get one of the tables by the front door. It’s ridiculous to have 3 tables in the waiting area. This is not NYC. It’s NA. This place was busy but it’s one of 3 restaurants in the area so not surprising. I’ll stick to Chi Thai. Way better service, much better atmosphere, and the food is better too imo.
Absolutely the worst service I’ve ever had. Came for lunch at 12:30, left at 2:10. The food was decent but nothing special, and absolutely not worth the wait or the price. I will never return and will make sure nobody I know does either.
If disappointment had a tasting menu, this place would be its flagship. The evening began with a promising enough setting — low lights, a gentle hum of chatter — but it quickly spiraled into a culinary cautionary tale. The first act? A salad of limp, rotting lettuce that appeared to have skipped not only the wash station but perhaps even the concept of freshness entirely. We politely requested a replacement, expecting a correction. Instead, we were treated to a second helping of equally unwashed greens, as though the kitchen had doubled down on the offense for dramatic effect. The mains fared no better. Sauces were slathered on with the subtlety of a toddler wielding finger paints, drowning any hope of balance or nuance. Salt was the star of every dish — not in a clever, seasoning-as-an-artform way, but in the panicked overcompensation of a kitchen trying to disguise the absence of real culinary culture or finesse. If a restaurant’s goal is to leave an impression, this one succeeded. Unfortunately, the memory it leaves is of a palate assaulted, and a stomach unsettled. One star — and that’s only because zero wasn’t an option.
Really horrible service. We had a party of 7. I wanted to love this place because it is beautiful. Most of the food was good but do not get the lettuce wraps- the meat and veggies are way too salty and they do not separate the lettuce so it is too messy to put together. (I skipped the lettuce and just ate the meat and veggies). We waited forever for our food- from the time we got there until we got our food it was 1.5 hrs ( 10 min longer for the lettuce wraps). We tried to talk to the staff but they were full of excuses. I could forgive these things and still go back another time. But the waitress was so so rude. She did not introduce herself and it just went downhill from there. She was not attentive, often we ran out of drinks, she did not give spoons for soup, she gave people the wrong meals and was snapping at us and just freaking rude. All 7 of us agreed. We will never go again
I asked the waitress to not put peanuts on my Pad Thai. She asked if I had an allergy to them and I said no, I just hate peanuts on my pad Thai. When my meal came, there is peanuts all over it. The Manager said to me, oh well, it’s just garnish. Peanuts are just like garnish. They get overlooked just like Any other garnish? That was the MANAGER telling me this. I will NEVER be back.
Chicken so dry it was like leather. To go portion of sesame chicken and the rice both fit in a small rice to go container for 18 dollars. Not to mention enough extra oil to cook an entire other portion of what they gave me. You cannot call what I was given a meal. It was a sample. I will never go back to this place ever again. Flat out bad and not worth half the cost. There were 7 tiny pieces of chicken that weren't an entire bite. Absolutely pathetic.
