First thing to know... your phone is most likely not going to have service down here. Plan accordingly!! That said... you can use the Wi-Fi at the Float House! So... I went to meet some friends and float but after they got held up for awhile I just stayed and played in the river by the Flat House... and I still enjoyed the heck out of myself. They have good food and nicely priced beer and seltzer. I got a bacon cheeseburger and it was delicious. Nothing fancy... just good. When doing the float they drop you off up river and you float back to them. Two different drop off locations give you options for a long float 4 hours or so, and a short float of 2 hours or so. Lots of bluffs, lots of fast flows, and lots of fun... I cannot wait to go back.

We went there today for lunch for my husband's birthday after a day on the Guadalupe River. The food was very good, reasonably priced and staff was so friendly. Enjoyed the cold frozen strawberry margaritas !! Will definitely will go back.

Delicious cheeseburgers, the fries were very good ,the onion rings were ok if you like frozen rings, but other than that really good food, servers and cooks. Definitely come back to eat and float the Guadalupe river, they supply tubes and rides.

Absolutely awesome! This place is your one stop shop to float the river. They offer tube rentals, shuttle, parking, restrooms, drinks, food, and more! Once you arrive, park your vehicle and take only the things you'll need on the river. They have clean restrooms with a changing area. Check in/purchase your tube rental at the top main entrance, they will ask if you want a tube with or without a bottom. Get a tube WITH a bottom, your bottom with be thankful later. They will also ask how long you want to float because they have different drop off locations and then you float back to your car. They offer a variety of trip lengths (1-2hrs, 2-3hrs, or 4-5hrs) all depends on the flow of the river. They will give you a ticket, walk down, hand it to the guys and they will get your tubes and load them onto the shuttle. The bus is literally an old school bus, bring a pen or sharpie if you want to sign your name on the walls/ceiling. The driver was friendly and informative stating the river was flowing good that day and to stay to left or you'd encounter a drop off. They even have rope if you need some to tie anything down! If you're doing a long trip, get a tube for your cooler and water proof bags for phone/wallet/keys. There is a chute which is fun! And other spot where the speed picks up but it's nothing too crazy or that kids couldn't handle. The water depth was never more than 4ft if that. We saw tons of turtles on branches/rocks. Fun to make a game out of it. You'll pass homes, rentals, restaurants, and other float locations of you need anything or should something happen. Once you've made your way back to the float house, you're sure to be starving and they have great tasting food for great prices. They have a variety of burgers, chicken strips, sides, fountain drinks, alcoholic drinks, and great seating with a view of the river. They even have live music on certain days. You can not go wrong with this place!

What an awesome weekend!! Lone Star Float House was the perfect place to set up and enjoy the river. From all the helpful & quick staff, the picnic tables in the river to the shuttle & drop off, the whole experience was just amazing!! The food is great & for being right there on the river the price was better than I thought it would be. Best burger I've had in a long time. My son had a BLT & Frito pie that he said was great!! I recommend everyone hit this place up for your river floating trips

Can't say enough good things about this place. We got the Groupon for our family of 4, tubed the river and ate lunch here. Awesome experience. Every person I talked to as a nervous Ohioan (there are NO alligators in the Guadalupe River!) was so kind and patient. Totally recommend for families looking to beat the heat on a budget!

Great Lunch Spot! We were cruising River Road and decided to stop here for a casual lunch. Grilled chicken sandwich, fish sandwich and shared onion rings. We both enjoyed it.

The food was so good! We ordered a burger and the homemade nachos. The river was up enough that we barely got stuck on the rocks. Tubing prices have gotten a little pricier than I remember, but overall the experience was good. All dining is outdoors and there’s even seating in the river, which is where we ate.

I am updating this review. I wrote one 2 years ago which gave it 5 starts and now that seems inaccurate. We moved away for about 6 months and when we returned the food is still good, the menu is much larger, they have made many updates to the deck. We were excited. We went on a day it wasn’t busy because we wanted to be able to go down to the river with our drinks. There was hardly anyone there, at the restaurant or down at their river tables. We walked down to the river with our drinks waiting on our food. As soon as we made it to the table a man and and possibly his young daughter came up to us and informed us we could not be down there without paying $25, then back tracked and asked if we ordered food. Then he told us we had an hour and looked at his watch. Us and one other small group were there, not tons of people. Then he stared at us until we went up to get our food like he was counting the seconds. The food is good, but that is ridiculous. It can be a great place, but we won’t be back. I value good service and they have lost it.

Beware: Safety Is NOT a Priority Here After Dog Attack We had to cut our river day short due to a terrifying and dangerous situation that management failed to take seriously. After completing the one-hour float, we picked our spot, set up, and were settled for less than 20 minutes before everything changed. A pit bull latched onto the neck of a golden retriever completely unprovoked. The retriever yelped in distress, and it genuinely looked like it might not survive. Our grandson witnessed the entire horrifying attack. Instead of removing their dog from the property, the pit bull’s owners stayed—loosely holding the leash at times, even dropping it while the dog swam toward the retriever again. The lack of control was blatant, and yet management’s only response was to casually tell them to “keep the dog on a leash.” The dog was on a leash. The problem was that the owners weren’t holding it. This is not enforcement, this is negligence. To make matters worse, one of the guests who immediately downplayed the situation, saying the pit bull “isn’t vicious”, appeared to be either an employee or close with management, as he got into a golf cart with staff to address the pit bull’s owners. A female manager later admitted he was “biased” because he owns a pit bull himself. She even tried to justify his perspective by telling us that, when the pit bull was a puppy, another guest once approached it with a knife. While I sympathize, that has nothing to do with the fact that this dog just attacked another unprovoked. Excuses do not change the reality of what happened. The most disappointing part was management’s reaction, or lack thereof. They did not prioritize the safety of guests, the comfort of families, or even the well-being of the attacked dog. Their attitude made it clear they cared more about defending pit bull ownership and personal bias than addressing the true severity of the situation. We had been frequent visitors here and always enjoyed the convenience: great food, drinks, floats, and good times. But safety is more important than fun. Watching management minimize a dangerous incident and put other families at risk was enough for us to pack up and leave. We will no longer spend our money at a place that does not value guest safety. If you’re considering coming here, please think twice. This is no longer the safe, pet and family-friendly environment it once was. Until management takes real action to protect guests, it is not worth the risk.
