I have been going to Omega Diner for many years and it has always been a number one diner for me. You cannot beat the service. I do have to recommend the hostess as one of the hardest workers I can ever remember in the diner over the past many years. Her name is vasilia she is very friendly and I would think an extremely hard worker because she's very multi-faceted and does many things aside from just being a hostess. The food is A1 and the service cannot be topped in any diner anywhere.

I come every Fridays after my Weight Watchers meetings in New Hyde Park. The servers are incredible because they have a wonderful attitude to the best customers and amazing conversations. Good choices and treats on the menu! 100/10! Thank you Sal, Tommy and Oni who work at Omega Diner, you are all amazing. Servers of the year 2024-25! You deserve an A+ with a 100%, best house salad and greatest tuna wraps of all time!

Wonderful family that runs the place the old man is the boss and he's brilliant and very welcoming prices are fair and the atmosphere couldn't be any better. I give this place 5 stars all day. Only in ny you can find a place like this. I highly recommend this place. If your reading this dont wast time or money on other spots. This could possible be one of the best dinners in the world.

I'm 25 and I've been going here for 25 years, my family for even longer. They have delicious paninis, great desserts, very nice staff, and the best soup which I will NOT tell you about bc they always run out so you'll have to find out for yourself 👀 but iykyk!! Despite the long wait, we got a table in a reasonable time since they turn tables so fast which is awesome for a food spot. Everyone is so nice from the moment you walk in to when you leave. First time back in over 30 years. I had the omega Greek salad .. excellent, my wife had thw giro platter, more food (and looked good too) than she could eat.

Went with my parents first time going really enjoyed it. The server was good food came out quick hot and ready to eat they have homemade desserts as well. Overall great place to go eat with parking lot big space and plenty of seats as well. They offer dine in and takeout service.

I've been to this place twice and so far it has not disappointed. The staff is friendly and the greeters are very courteous as you enter. My last waiter was on point with communication and accommodated requests very openly. So far I've had the Delancy sandwich, which comes in a garlic toasted roll loaded with pastrami. You get to choose potato salad or French fries and it comes accompanied with coleslaw, pickle spears and freshly made onion rings. This sandwich was AMAZING! the second time I went for the Duo, which is basically 2 sandwiches with protein of your choice (I chose corned beefamd pastrami :) ). The came on sesame soft rolls and the accompaniment again was potato salad for the side and pickle spears with coleslaw. These were also very good with the exception of the corned beef which felt like it was missing nice pickling spices for flavor. Sor far my mind is set in returning. I can't seem to find the image for the delancy sandwich but I might just ordered it again and update the post.

I have come to this diner every single time I come back to visit. Ive been frequenting this place since they had smoking and non smoking sections in the 1980s and I was a little kid. I've always loved Omega. I visit my family here once every few years and eat here at least twice every visit. I can't wait to come back. Best burgers in the world. Fries are great. Service is the best in the tri-state area. And I buy cookies to take with me on the flight back home. Omega is one of the best diners I've ever been to in the country. Its worth every penny and then some!

The place is very clean and the interior design is beautiful. It has a old school diner design with a touch of modern. The food is delicious and the waiters are attentive. I would definitely go back. I had the roman steak ( it was spelt differently) medium rare. Cut of meat was good as were the accompanying fries that I ordered. I felt the fries could be a little crispier. I also ordered a glass of OJ and it was obviously freshly squeezed.

A classic American style diner serving a good breakfast. A retro environment that brings you back to the 1980's. Don't expect anything fancy, but just good eggs and bacon. Proces are fair and parking is plentiful.

Still good- but a much different experience during peak times. A bit of a chaotic rush inside and a long wait to be seated, but this is expected at 10 am on a Sunday...and a pretty good sign of how the food is. We have eaten here on a Saturday at 9am and the atmosphere was more relaxed and we received more attention. The food is pretty impressive either way. Good quality ingredients are prepared with care here. Don't start with me on how good the challah French toast was. And the home fries met every expectation I ever had for potatoes! We are quickly becoming regulars...during non-peak times, that is!

The diner is very nice and set up in the classic 1970,80s diners with booths and stand alone tables. There is ample parking and it is very clean. The food is fresh and the cooks prepare it fast enough, the waiters are very courteous and glad you passed came. The peices are very reasonable as well. The staff is top notch from the greeter to the waiters. The ambiance and atmosphere are pleasant, it's neat and clean and there is ample parking. It's been a while since I've been to a diner and I was looking forward to a Monte Cristo sandwich. The menu had an open faced Monte Cristo and as a chef, I should have known better and ordered something else. But I didn't know better. The sandwich was on a far to thick piece of challah bread, fried in egg and layered with dry sliced turkey and melted swiss. I could not tell if the bread was fried on both sides as despite the fact that the turkey was dry, the bread was soggy. Now, if you're going to change a classic sandwich, you have to be better or at least a good as the original. This obviously was not. It did come with fries, pickles and slaw which were fine. My co-diner had another classic sandwich; the BLT which he said was excellent and he scarfed it down, indicating that you shouldn't mess with time honored traditions.

Not good service. Our serving lady wasn't very polite or talkative either. We would ask her for something, and she'd answer us as she walked away. Making it hard to hear and understand her. If your check is on your table with out asking for it, like it was for us, just pay it. Dont say...oh we decided on dessert. That's when she got even more fed up. She literally slammed her hand on the table and took the check away. Comes back almost ten minutes later to ask what else we wanted. She was terrible. It was lunchtime. The place was somewhat busy. Popular place and always busy, mostly because of its convenient location and history in the neighborhood. Unfortunately it seems that when they're the most busy, the quality of the food being served drops. The fries are stale or overcooked, food is lacking basic flavor. And while the service itself isn't bad, the older "regulars" create a bottleneck when they request to be seated in certain areas to be waited on by particular servers which can delay seating and service overall. Bathrooms are not as well maintained as they should be. Car freshener (hanging tree) was spotted attached to the stall and there were stains on the floor. It's good in a pinch but nothing to write home about.

This diner is a hit or miss. I had a mixed experience while I was here; their mozzarella sticks and French toast were really good but the rest of the meal was not. They messed up my friend’s burger and their fries were just eh. Another small but annoying issue was that they cleaned the table after we sat down instead of before, which meant we had to move everything just so they could wipe it down. I really regret to write this review because I’ve been coming to omega diner since I was a little girl, but the last two times I went to Omega diner I experienced horribly rude waiters. We were rushed to order, then rushed out and treated rudely, despite being very polite to staff. It was not a busy night, and we were not there late, walked in at about 8pm on the weekend. Witnessed white guests being treated politely and realized we may have experienced discrimination. Only reason the review is not a 1 star is because the food is actually fine. Save your money and spend elsewhere for a better experience. The Clubhouse on Denton has very polite staff and does a really nice Saturday brunch. Omega diner has changed, and not for the better.

The good: The food is good and stellar. Soup is nice and flavor, appears homemade, and the food is very fresh and tasty. The bad: The customer service is atrocious. Jerri, our waiter was extremely condescending and rude to my mother and I. As frequent guests of this establishment, we don’t deserve to be treated in this manner. He didn’t even ask what drinks we wanted, annoyed about his job and appearing miserable. If we needed napkins or water, we’d be met with an annoyed face and not even turning around fully to our table to focus on our request. We made a complaint to the owner, who had stepped away to a business call, so we had to complain to the front desk girl who did appear helpful and assured us the owner would be made aware of the nasty service given by Jerri. Outside of the bad waiter, the food is very good for the most part and the service is usually not this bad.

Actually, the food is really good. You get big portions for the price. The issue is, the service is horrible. We noticed all of the wait staff was slacking, but God help you if you happen to get the waitress we had. The receipt says Naomi, but we don't know if that was the waitress or the cashier. Either way, our waitress had zero patience, made almost no eye contact, and barely indicated she even understood what we said. Our orders were fine, but she was so inattentive, it was a hassle to get drinks. She spent plenty of time on her phone in the corner, but barely any time even checking on us. The exception was when we asked for a box; that's when she made direct and extremely awkward eye contact. It was bizarre and off-putting. The only way we'd come back is for takeout orders; we're not dining in here again.

They are rated best diner three years running apparently. I don’t know who gave them that award. From the moment we sat down the workers were extremely rude and abrupt. They slammed down water cups and coffees which spilt on the table. The food took forever to come out, and then when it did come out it wasn’t even fully cooked. My boyfriends French toast was completely undercooked and the bacon seemed as if it was an off brand bacon. It seemed different. The toast came burnt, and the coffee tasted like nothing with no coffee refills. The orange juice is not fresh, it tasted disgusting. I would have rather if they have just given Tropicana from the jug. Service and food are garbage and need to be readjusted.

I have come here many times over the years (but less so recently since I’ve moved out of the area) and have generally liked it in the past. That said, today was different and my main gripe was the service. Our waitress was impatient and rude. She apparently didn’t like that my husband took a little extra time figuring out his order and muttered some derogatory comments as she walked away that we could clearly hear. Although we asked for water I had to get up and request it again after she “forgot” to bring it. The food IMO is about average for diner food but the kicker was that we ordered an Apple crumble cake for dessert to share and It came almost frozen with no additional silverware and was practically thrown onto the table. By this time I had lost my patience, did not wish to deal with the waitress again and so we ate it frozen and left. I will add that the diner was not especially busy today while we were there. Added to this was that my husband and I couldn’t be seated until my brother arrived even though the diner wasn’t very busy. Although this didn’t bother me initially I have decided that I will not be coming back here again.

Stopped by two days ago for lunch. I was impressed on how fast I was seated, and wait staff brought utensils, ice water and menus...then it all went downhill. We ordered two cheeseburger deluxe, one medium one well done. Didn't give it much thought on how fast the food arrived, 10-15 minutes later. The burgers were both cooked medium, room temperature and extremely dry. The French fries were warm and not crispy or crunchy. After much thought I believe they were trying to get ahead of the lunch time rush by pre-cooking the burgers and fries. The only good part of the deluxe platters were the fresh tomatoes and iceberg lettuce.

WORST French Toast anywhere! It’s the second and last time I make the mistake of ordering French toast here. They make the challah bread frrench toast super soggy and mushy. The corners tasted stale. The little bit I ate ruined my stomach fr the rest of the day!

I went to this diner for breakfast yesterday and it was by for the worst experience I’ve ever had. The eggs were so bland, and the bacon was hard as a rock as if it wasn’t fresh. This is a place I could never go to again. Also, the Sprite didn’t even taste like a traditional Sprite. It had a weird taste terrible.

Sunday afternoon, Restaurant was about half full and had double the number of waiters it usually did. It took nearly a half hour to make a egg salad sandwich and overcook ribs and chicken and al dente yellow rice. Charges $3 a soda with paid refills(in a diner) served with plate with someone else's food still on it. I watched as my my waiter took his time, chatting with other staff to even acknowledge me. Would show up 15 minutes into eating food to ask if I was done. I was half way done and my companion had his plate still full of food. Served overcooked food just to be rushed out all for $50.

Second time visiting Omega Diner. First time was with my mother for brunch and we had a very pleasant experience. Food was good, service was courteous and pleasant. Today, because of my previous positive experience, decided to take my wife and toddler for brunch. Upon being seated, our server (I didn’t get his name, but was wearing a white button down, older man, white hair). Gruffly asked us if we wanted a high chair. My wife and I are always respectful and courteous to our servers and thanked him. He came back a few minutes later and asked us if we wanted more time, which we replied yes. After taking our order and dropping it off, not once did he ever stop by to ask us if we needed anything, if the food was good, etc. but he did so for every table next to us in his area. He was so pleasant to the table that was seated next to us (4 elder white patrons) that it made us wonder what we did to get on his bad side (my wife and are Asian). Because he never checked up on us, and when we were done with our meals, when he was checking up on the table next us, I asked “can we have a to-go box please?” He turned and never acknowledged us, even though he absolutely heard what I was saying. I followed up with “I know you heard me”. He comes back with the takeout box, gives it to me and says “yeah I heard you”. Well, if you heard me, maybe you should acknowledge your patrons instead of treating them like they owe you something. This experience will absolutely affect my future decision to visit Omega diner.

I asked for well done fries and mozzarella cheese on my burger. Didn't get either. This has to be the worst diner that they dont listen to ur order.

Me and my friend came in, got our own drinks, and shared some onion rings. The guy and woman were friendly at first, but then that same lady who checked us out had such rude energy. Maybe she’s just naturally that miserable. It’s just fake, I’d honestly rather someone be rude all around than be fake nice for business. I’ve seen other reviews comment how different they act when the customers are white, so that says a lot. Servers were genuine and pleasant though. I’m guessing they were annoyed we didn’t order more food. Unfortunately, overeating is so normalized in America that us not ordering 5 meals at once probably came off as offensive to them. And as if people don’t share appetizers all the time? To top it off, the onion rings weren’t even cooked right. some were fine, but others still had raw batter. You’re better off going to another diner, nothing special about this place.

The waitress and the guy at the cash register were absolutely horrible. I met up with a friend and her husband. My friend has trouble walking otherwise I would have walked right out. The attitude was beyond nasty. My friend and husband were there first and I could see they did not like them. They did not like me because I was with them. The greek guy at the register wanted to seat us at the back and wanted the table for someone else, so he was so rude, I thought he was going to hit one of us. I told my friend we should leave but she said to ignore them. I ordered something simple because i did not trust them. The waitress sent her co-workers every few minutes to ask us why we can't sit in the back. I was so upset I could not even eat the junk they served me. I will never set foot in that horrible place again. You better hope they like you.

The last time I came here I gave 2 stars. Why did I come back! The place was packed at lunch time. The only reason why I found parking is because the car in front of me missed the spot We sat and I ordered challah and old fashioned French toast. I prayed over the food my request was to take out all impurities. Well I looked closer as I buttered it up and found a long string of hair. I'm bald so it wasn't from me and it was a long string. I had short curly. This is very disturbing and disgusting why is it that the waiter could see it when I pointed it out but not while he was bringing it to me. My partner sat across the table and saw it. I'm never coming back here and this was my suggestion. Last visit was a mess and this one a disaster.
