⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Hidden Gem Worth Finding! Kam Hing Coffee Shop is truly a hidden hole-in-the-wall treasure! We stopped by and were blown away by their incredible sponge cakes – we tried the coconut and strawberry flavors, and both were light, fluffy, and absolutely delicious. What made the experience even better was the staff. They went out of their way to modify our teas since we’re lactose intolerant, and the result was perfect – flavorful, refreshing, and just right. This place has that cozy, authentic charm that’s hard to find. Amazing food, warm service, and unbeatable sponge cakes – definitely worth a visit!

Kam Hing Bakery/Raspberry Hibiscus Tea: While waiting in line, I had trouble reading the menu on account of multiple racy posters blocking my view. I ordered this drink as a consolation because my original choice was sold out. The tea was very refreshing and sweet; it surprisingly surpassed my expectations by a long shot!

I’ve tried nearly every flavor at Kam Hing, but nothing beats the original—especially when it is fresh out of the oven. My mom’s a loyal regular here. I swear there’s always sponge cakes from Kam Hing at home almost every week. Their sponge cakes are like a fluffy cloud, with a soft bounce and egg flavor. They are so light that you can easily devour a few without feeling heavy. (1) Original 原味 Got super lucky and caught a fresh batch of the OG, so of course we grabbed three right away. They were piping hot when we got them. The lightly browned crust was still crispy, while the cake was impossibly moist and soft. Best eaten within minutes! (2) Ube 紫薯 - My go-to. You can actually taste the ube in this one. (3) Coconut 椰子 - Mixed with coconut bits for texture. (4) Pandan 斑蘭 - The pandan flavor is super faint, so I skip it most times. (5) Butterscotch 奶油糖果 - The owner’s personal pick! He gave us one to try It’s sweet and caramel-y like a soft candy cake. (6) Green Tea 綠茶 - It tastes mild and grassy like chinese green tea, but still pleasant. (7) Pistachio 開心果 - Limited flavor. My second favorite. The pistachio flavor doesn’t taste artificial at all. Very nutty. ＊Green Thai Tea I actually never tried their drinks until now—and omg, it was a surprise hit! They gave me a less-sweet version without me even asking, and it was bursting with jasmine tea flavor. Definitely getting this again

This cash-only establishment is a staple in Chinatown and known for their soft and fluffy sponge cakes. It's a bit hidden, but has seating on the inside, where you can enjoy your food and drinks. The staff here was so so friendly and sweet--giving me recommendations on drinks and their sponge cakes. I highly recommend coming earlier in the day as I went at around 3pm and most of their spongecake flavors (except 4) were already sold out by then. I ended up getting their pandan, chocolate chip, and classic sponge cakes as well as their green thai tea drink and everything was delicious. The sponge cakes were probably some of the fluffiest sponge cakes I've ever tried and the green thai tea was sweet and paired well with the cakes. My favorite cake was probably the chocolate but all were delicious. I would love to come back to try some of their other flavors!

I normally don't go and buy sponge cake, but these are really good, and I'd def come back. They have different flavors for you to choose. I really like the chocolate chips with like some melted chocolate pieces inside. Overall, the cake is soft, airy, not too sweet.

OMG!!! Absolutely Incredible!!! That is the description of my tastebuds as I took a bite of the pandan sponge cake! They are absolutely de-licious. Ube is my favorite flavor in general. The Pandan was my overall favorite sponge cake. Where do I start… love that the sponge cake is perfectly flavored, and sweetened that gives each cake a perfect flavor without being overly sweet. The sponge cakes are fresh just as if they were baked in your Grandmother’s kitchen. The coconut flavor sponge cake melts in your mouth, and compliments the coffee. As a coffee lover, I recommend the Viet coffee, very smooth, the texture is creamy, and on a hot summer day the Viet Iced Coffee is perfect. The atmosphere is relaxed, and great to sit to have sponge cake & coffee with a friend. Special thanks to Ms. Lucky who is very kind, and really makes the bakery special. Could not ask for a better experience. Tip: This is a very popular bakery, and flavored sponge cakes sell out quickly. Try to arrive early in the day.

We got a fresh batch of spongecake. It was delicious. Not too sweet and not too stale. Nothing better than fresh spongecakes. Also it's only 1$ for 1 original spongecake. Try to go here before 2, because that is when they make the cakes fresh. The service was also very good.

Kam Hing Bakery has been a longtime staple in Chinatown, known for its classic sponge cakes that have stood the test of time! The original flavor is hands down my favorite light, fluffy, and not too sweet. As for the flavored ones, they don't quite hit the same. The texture and taste are just okay, and the matcha one in particular wasn't for me. I'd definitely recommend sticking with the original. It's what they're known

Im just a tourist, but seems like a staple in the community. Its homey atmosphere caught me immediately and I felt a welcoming feeling. It’s not the cleanest, but the service more than enough made up for it. I was offered a fresh and hot sponge cake, which tasted great, but I would definitely try the flavored ones next time. Coffee tasted pretty good, a solid flavor.

The sponges cakes are absolutely delicious but I’m always finding egg shells in these. Have been getting them for almost a year and every time I find an egg shell or two. Very upsetting when you bite into the soft sponge cake and find something crispy that completely throws you off. No longer am able to enjoy it as because of having to be on constant lookout for egg shells.

I was going to try the other famous sponge cake spot right across but the flashy signs drew me in to this place instead. I got a green tea sponge cake that was hard and dry. I asked to swap and they handed me another one from the same pile of premade cakes that's been sitting there. It was good, but far from "best sponge cake in town" unfortunately.
