Bangia is a Korean bar and restaurant with vibes that lasts and stick. Once those doors open, you already know it’s going to be a long fun night. They got creative drinks fused with fun Korean flavors that’s an absolute blast to quench down. Bangia does not have your typical bar food but an impressive menu of classic Korean dishes with a twist. We talking about real food that makes you drinking for hours. For a limited time during Valentine’s Day week, come in show some love with your partner, and they will show you both love with a dessert and two shots to share!
✨ It’s been a while since I felt that true late-night street food energy — good food, good drinks, and effortless conversations. At BANGIA, I finally found it again. 🔥 We started with a bubbling pot of ARMY STEW. Ramen, spam, sausage, kimchi, and melted cheese simmer together — it’s made for sharing while catching up with friends. 🍝 The TRUFFLE OIL CHAPAGURI fills the air with rich black truffle aroma. The noodles are perfectly chewy, bold, and impossible to stop eating. 🦑 The Spicy Whole Squid is honestly one of the best I’ve had in NYC. Served sizzling on a hot plate, tender and slightly spicy, with that satisfying smoky sound as it hits the table. 🥓 You have to order the SPICY SQUID & PORK BELLY — especially with rice cakes. The spicy sauce, the richness of pork belly, and the chewiness of tteok create the perfect bite. 🍲 Portions here are generous. The CLAM SOUP comes in a massive bowl, light yet flavorful, perfect for sharing. 🍶 And don’t skip the Lychee Makgeolli. The subtle sweetness and rice aroma instantly reminded me of homemade rice wine — nostalgic, comforting, and warm. 🥂 The entire restaurant is filled with laughter and clinking glasses. It’s lively, relaxed, and effortlessly fun. Trust me — this place will make you happier.
My go-to pocha in K-town! The army stew and fried chicken are always top-notch, and I love that they even have makgeolli shaved ice. The service is amazing too, Jonathan is incredibly welcoming and friendly every time. The space is filled with cute neon phrases on the walls, great spot for cute pictures.
Absolutely loved this hidden gem and the food here is so tasty! It’s perfect for a date or fun group hangout. They have great deals and really pretty drinks!
Great late-night spot 🌙 located underground in Koreatown perfect after work, bar hopping, or a night out with classic Korean comfort food 🍲 Marinated Pork Feet is one of the “Signature” dish in Bangia, literally everyone loves it ‼️Slow-braised pork feet marinated in a soy-based sauce with garlic, ginger, and spices - I’m literally enjoy its rich texture. Spicy Stir-Fried Pork & Kimchi, every bite transported me back to Korean 🇰🇷 pork belly stir-fried with aged kimchi, absolutely is my favorite comfort food. Great drinking food, pairs with “BINGSU” literally Instagram-worthy 🍨 Make sure you get HOT TODDY in Bangia get warm, soothing, enjoyed in cold weather ⛄️ A warm food Rice Cake Oden Soup at Bangia 🍢🍲is my destination in this winter ❄️ Chewy rice cakes and fish cake simmered in a light, savory anchovy-kelp broth.
Amazing experience at Bangia NYC! The food was absolutely delicious, especially the cheesy pancake and hot soups. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and very comforting. The atmosphere was warm, cozy, and welcoming. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole dining experience even better. It’s a great place to relax, hang out with friends, and enjoy authentic Korean comfort food. Highly recommend Bangia if you’re looking for a cozy Korean pocha spot in NYC. I will definitely be back again!
Such a lovely underground spot in K-Town with great food! It wasn't too crowded or too loud, which is a rare find in NYC. Definitely recommend, especially as the weather gets colder. Perfect for dinner with friends or colleagues, and a great place to start the evening with dinner and some pre-drinks!
I was a regular at Bangia when I lived in the city but I always try to go back when I visit. Their price points are incredible for the food quality, especially in the context of Manhattan prices. Most recently, I hosted a work dinner here for 14 people. Another rarity is they don't require a private dining room (or associated cost) and their minimums, again, are very reasonable. Most of the party had never had Korean food before and it was a hit. The food came out really quickly - and it wasn't cold - and the courses were timed perfectly. Jonathan/Taesoo was extremely accommodating throughout the planning process and I'm looking forward to hosting another work dinner here again. Plus, who doesn't love getting an entire martini glass of lychee with their soju?! Outside of large events, it's the best late night Korean spot in the city, can't beat the quality or price.
I had an incredibly enjoyable time dining and drinking at this Korean spot! The food was out of this world—each bite was pure bliss, with rich and authentic flavors that left me thoroughly satisfied. But that's not all! The manager is not only charming but also extremely good - looking, which added a delightful touch to the experience. And let's talk about the whisky! They serve the best Manhattan in all of Manhattan. The combination of scrumptious food, top - notch drinks, and a dashing manager makes this place an absolute gem. I can't recommend it highly enough!
I came here to get drinks with friends and it was a great vibe! The inside of the pocha spot is dim and lively, with lots of big groups drinking together and enjoying food. Here, the menu is by QR code and you order with staff. My friends got one of their soups, grilled pork belly, and fried chicken. Everything was a good portion, good quality, and flavorful. A great vibe to drink and eat with friends, and I would love to come back to try their soju bingsoo!
this is such a cute spot! we only sat at the bar so i didn’t get a good look at everything, but the atmosphere was really nice. (it does suck sitting so close to the door when it’s cold out, but that can’t be helped.) it’s slightly dark but i didn’t find it to be a problem. the kpop videos playing on the TVs are fun! the waitstaff was responsive and kind even though it got super busy on a saturday night. this is a great date spot or place to come with a large group. we only tried the fries and a few of the drinks but we’ll be back again for more!
Discovered Manhattan’s first soju smoothie with my husband! This place got this “you’re gonna leave here drunk” vibe with incredible hospitality and atmosphere. They got a fabulous blood sausage with rice cake and don’t forget their daily drink specials. Definitely a terrific experience luring you to come back.🥳
An underground Korean spot with a cozy & dimly lit vibe that works well for large groups thanks to its generously sized dishes. We ordered the kimchi soup, potato pancake, and marinated pork feet. The kimchi soup leaned a bit salty without much depth, though the pork feet were quite good. Service felt a bit uneven - we ran out of garlic and jalapeños for the pork feet and refills were slow. A solid spot for hanging out in a casual setting with decent Korean food.
Fun place. Great atmosphere. The seafood pancake was solid and the army stew was good too. The drinks are disappointing. The yuzu soju was sweet, not much alcohol. Not worth the $18. The shaved ice was a joke. Looks nothing like the ad. And there was zero alcohol. Also not worth $18. Overall, the food and drinks were overpriced. Not a good value for money.
The food is always good love the spicy chicken feet and lychee drink. But the service was hideously bad I was standing up from the harsh bar chair because I had the knee injury but one of the server guy pushed me and told me “sit back down”. It happened so abruptly rude and my jaw dropped. For real, watch your attitude to the customer.
First time here, won't return, don't recommend. We got bulgogi rice balls and half and half wings (sweet and spicy and soy garlic) everything was dry. Like dry dry. The food and alcohol are also overpriced. It took us like 20ish minutes before someone came to get our order for the first time. The cost of a glass of sake is what you'd usually pay for a single bottle. The bathroom is also gross, urine every where 😭 like literally.
I visited for the first time on a Saturday night. The service was a bit inattentive, but it didn’t bother me or my cousin since we weren’t in a rush and most of the staff were friendly. However, when I went to use the bathroom, a staff member suddenly yelled at me for not noticing there was a designated area for waiting in line. I immediately apologized, but since it was my first visit and the direction I approached from didn’t face the sign marking where the line began, I genuinely missed it. The volume and tone used felt unnecessarily harsh— loud enough for people around to hear as he spoke to me from about ten feet away instead of approaching me calmly. Even the one person in line looked uncomfortable after witnessing the interaction. After that, I waited in line, only to be cut by two other patrons who also didn’t see the sign. Multiple staff members walked by and said nothing, so the designated waiting area for the bathroom wasn’t even being enforced consistently. The ambience was nice and staff were overall friendly, but that one male staff member who spoke to me this rudely over an obviously innocent mistake will be the reason I do not come back again.
