Excellent place, atmosphere and food! Best Korean Chicken ever and a variety of rice. My favorite is the kimchee rice! Friendly staff and fast service. Can't beat that.
so good and affordable chicken it’s so savory i had the rice bowl!😊 will come again!!!
This is a casual place to either quickly grab some fried chicken or go down and have some real chimaek (fried chicken and beer)! The upstairs has the classic box selection of pre-made fried chicken, which they stock often. There's also sides like kimchi and tteok. Service is fast and you just grab, pay, and go. Downstairs is the basement with the cocktails and alcohol. It's a good place to chill with friends and chat since your phone might not receive the best signal down there. Chicken is made fresh to order there, too. Really good spot to scratch the fried chicken itch.
We ordered much more than this but everything got devoured 😅 We got 4 different flavors of the boneless chicken - cheesling, soy garlic, honey garlic, and golden original. In my opinion, cheesling was THE best! Definitely try it! It was a great meal after walking around NYC all day. Super delicious! And our servers were so nice as well!
One of the absolute highlights of the trip! We returned to this Korean fried chicken spot after a great experience last year, and it was even better than I remembered. We ordered the boneless Honey Garlic and Golden Original chicken, both of which were phenomenal—crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and packed with flavor. The honey garlic is especially suited for garlic lovers, while the golden original is a safer but equally delicious choice. We paired our meal with two Korean craft beers and a few dipping sauces, which elevated everything. The place is perfect for takeout as well—boxes of ready-made meals line the entrance. We ended up spending about $63 for two people, which felt like a great deal for the quality. Absolutely recommended!
Firstly the wings of fire was an absolute divine. For the first time something that was mentioned spicy was actually spicy. Loll, the rice tasted good too. The mango lemonade tasted tropical (felt like I was at the beach). If you are craving for something spicy yet delicious you should definitely try the wings of fire

I was in the Korea town in New York and craving some Korean fried chicken.. There were actually a lot of options but I was running out of time. Had to pick something up quick. Tried the BBQ chicken for the first time and I actually liked the experience… it is not a dine in kind of an experience but a quick pick up and eat at work experience.. perfect location and in the heart of Korea town.. Service was OK.. they keep filling up the take away food and all you have to do is to pick what you like.. of course the best sellers go away fast and you have to wait till they refill it.. they actually have a wide range of menu with different types of chicken and different flour.. I got the hot hot and spicy chicken over rice and it was good… also tried the chi-pop and it was very average.. It’s probably for kids and tasted sweet… they have a wide variety of Korean chicken fried with different sauces.. overall a good experience..4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is my go to place for a quick lunch when In the midtown area! I love their chicken Teriyaki and Jamaican bowl their Boneless wings are also good! The service is quick sometimes they don’t have the bowl you’re looking for but it’s usually just a 10 minute wait! The reason I put 4 stars is just because in the past 2 years their prices have gone up quite a bit but the food is still good!
Given that the chicken was fried a while ago, and kept under the warmer, it is fairly good. It is cheaper than other locations and because you don't have to pay for the servers the total comes out to be cheaprr. It is fairly clean, and the tables are well maintained. They don't provide spoons for ddeok bokki. I wish they would.
I’ve been a loyal customer of bbq chicken for years. While the food is still delicious, I've definitely noticed the impact of inflation. Paying $16 for a box of chicken from upstairs, I feel the value is no longer quite there, and it's almost worth paying a little more to dine in downstairs. We noticed the chicken wings and overall portion size is bigger. The spicy fried chicken is still fantastic—it's crispy on the outside and wonderfully juicy inside. However, my husband's experience with the honey garlic and spicy galbi wings was a bit disappointing. The wings were warm on the inside, not hot, which made us suspect they weren't freshly fried. It seemed like they might have been reheated and then tossed in the sauce.
A Great Spot for Crispy Korean Fried Chicken My friends and I visited bb.q Chicken in K-Town on a Friday evening, and we were pleasantly surprised. Despite it being a Friday, the place wasn't packed, and we were seated immediately, which was a huge plus. We ordered easily via a QR code, and our food arrived hot and fresh in about 10-15 minutes. We opted for their combos, and they were absolutely delicious—the chicken was perfectly crispy and flavorful. A small but much-appreciated detail was their willingness to serve the sauce on the side in a cup, rather than mixed directly with the chicken. The staff truly stood out; everyone was incredibly nice and always had a smile on their faces. They were also very attentive, refilling our water glasses every time they noticed they were half-full. The ambiance is exactly what you'd expect from a lively sports bar: good music, TVs playing, and a buzzing atmosphere of people enjoying their evening. Overall, I can definitely see myself coming back here with friends every month or so for some fantastic Korean fried chicken and a great time.
We have been coming here for about 4 years now. The quality was slowly going down but not sure what happened they are back to being good. The chicken is juicy and fresh. The other korean food options like the platters are decent as well. Its not trying to do too much like the other spots around here for platters.
Grab-and-go style KFC with an option to dine in. We got the original and house special. It wasn't as crispy as newly fresh-made chicken. It was okay but I rather go to another spot. Nice dining area. Their napkins are very small. Hardly enough to use. They need plates for patrons who are dining in, everyone literally ate out of the box. I would like more sauce options other than ketchup.

Not sure why the low reviews! I had a great experience great chicken.\nHad it plain with special sauce on the side and it did not disappoint!!\nCrispy on the outside, tender on the inside!!
To-go joint that doubles as a downstairs restaurant. Their Korean chicken might not be as good as some of its neighbors, but the service & space makes up for it. Ideal place for large, scattered groups that are pre-eating for karoke (because we all know thats how a night in Ktown ends up). For an initial party of 4 - we shared 1 poutine, 2 chickens (special & cheese), and 3 sojus. Theres bone/boneless, and all comes with side of fries. Poutine... amazing. Bulgogi and fried egg and asian sauces, by the time you got to the fries it was marinated so deliciously. You can't stop eating. Special soy was good, as expected. The cheese? well um. ho-hm. Taste was ok but texture wise, it was like someone took a jumbo pac of the kraft easy mac powder and dumped it all over the chicken. So... no. Experiment fail. Peach soju a bit too syrupy sweet. Maybe stick with grapefruit.
Honestly, it you want a quick bite that that isn't your typical fast food joint, this will do. Its not earth shattering, write home to mom chicken. On busy days you'll have to wait for seats.
BB.q used to be my favorite fat food restaurant. The selection was always good and the chicken was always perfect whether boneless or bone- in. Or even the rice bow. As of late. the food has been sub-par. If you purchase early the chicken is luke warm and hard, if you go late the variety all tastes the same. I like to pitcher 3 boxes when I go to bb.q bcz my son loves it. But he is even skeptical and he eats everything. Now I feel as though it's a crap shoot as to what I'm going to get, in the box. It has gotten to the point I won't leave until I check the food. If it's not fresh I have to return it and take another one. The she with the rice bowls, the chicken in the rice bowls are dry and hard. The worse part the price increased my $3.00 but the quality decreased by 10. Not cool, not cool at all
Honest opinion, it was alright. Not somewhere I’ll go back to but ok for a quick lunch. We didn’t go to the restaurant portion downstairs but the upstairs prepackaged food area. I got the Bulgogi rice bowl. The bowl looks big but the amount of rice it has is a little too excessive. The meat and veggies were good though. The place had no Ac was very hot making it very uncomfortable to sit and enjoy the food.
Good, but not fresh. Check my photos to see the super dried out chicken you can expect here. Sauces and breading are on point, but I really wish the food was made to order, especially considering the price. Expect super loud music catered to a very young audience. Clean bathrooms though! Edit: looking through the most recent reviews, YIKES. Back-to-back copy & pasted f@kes!

First time trying the “dining in section” of this establishment, since the grab and go section is good. Upon entering we went downstairs and got seated pretty quickly, sadly got sat on a table that was semi broken (wobbly legs making the drink spill) we ordered corn salad which is decent but basic and boneless honey garlic chicken with tteokbokki and fries which was suppose to be enough for two servings and what we got was 8 peices of tiny one bite over cooked 70% breading 30% chicken peices for 36$.. (suggestion never order meals that claim to serve more then one person and never order boneless) the corn and the fries were the only decent food items. They completely forgot about the tteokbokki order which came out after we finished every other dish and that was a disappointment too, maybe 10 pieces of tiny rice cakes and the rest was cabbage with a little fried tofu skins. In summary, skip the dine in and just go for the grab and go.
I’ve been coming to this location since my college years, but over the past two years the quality has noticeably declined. Today I dined in and ordered the Honey Garlic. The chicken tasted like it had been sitting out for a while , it was not crispy at all and had a strange stale, oily smell. The sauce was also very minimal, and the texture honestly felt like chewing on an oily paper towel. What’s disappointing is that when I order BBQ Chicken from another location in New Jersey, even for delivery, it still arrives crispy and flavorful. I don’t understand why this location struggles to maintain quality even for dine-in customers. Portion sizes also seem smaller than before. Overall, the experience was very disappointing compared to how this place used to be.
Used to love this place but beware of the shrinkflation… the portions have gotten hilariously small. To the point where I wasn’t sure if there was anything even in the box when picking it up! The $16 portion now comes with just a few pieces and the batter to chicken ratio has also gotten worse. Unfortunately it’s just no longer worth it.
Disappointing ! This is basically a Korean like version of KFC with second quality, over-fried chicken. The dumplings were overcooked, chewy and disappointing. There's not much on the menu to order. And the kid at the register got my order wrong and then when I told him, he twisted the story around and told me that's what I ordered. There are no descriptions as to what ingredients are in the sauces so it's extremely difficult to choose the type of wings unless you to do the cashier multiple questions which is difficult for you to do and difficult for them to answer. The guy at the counter pointed at of some odd board showing details based on allergies that had nothing to do with the ingredients of the sauces. The cashier doesn't answer questions well. He just says that he "just works there." Lol, it doesn't sound like he really likes working there. So there's little service. What he said this I felt very sad for him and the establishment. How sad. Spent $35 for this stuff. Crazy. Really very disappointed I will never go back there again. If you like good food and you're not a child looking for fried wings do not go there
I’ve been a loyal customer for years, and the food has always been fantastic. However, I just got home and started eating the honey garlic wings, and I was disappointed to find the texture soggy. I initially thought it might be due to the time it took to get home, but then I tried my boyfriend’s Wings of Fire, and they were still perfectly cooked, tender and fresh. This made me wonder if the honey garlic wings were reheated. Either way, I’m really disappointed, as this doesn’t reflect the quality I’ve come to expect
came here on two separate occasions. tried their honey garlic fried chicken and it was okay. nothing too special and the sauce was underwhelming. second time tried their tteokbokki and hot spicy fried chicken. portion size of tteokbokki was a joke, filled with 5 tiny pieces of rice cake and remaining sauce. the chicken tasted alright for the most part with undercooked batter on a few. i also do not understand their reasoning of using parchment paper and leaving it on the rack for so long to the point the sauce hardens leaving the chicken completely stuck to the paper.
I usually enjoy ordering from here, but I was really disappointed this time. This is my second experience getting chicken that was very dry, with very little sauce, so it felt like I was just eatin…

I asked an employee to please give me a boneless GALBI chicken. The employee then gave me the chicken and I was very happy to get the chicken, then at check out the price came out to 18.50. Which is okay! But if im paying such a high price why is the woman at the register so rude when I couldn’t understand her at first when she asked me if I wanted it to go or not. I am deaf so I need a bit of guidance sometimes. That’s fine, however when I get home I am so sadden by the fact I got a chicken that was the “secret sauce half chicken”. I couldn’t even eat it because the secret sauce was Way too spicy for me and I never eat chicken with bones in there, in fear I might choke. Then later that day during night time, about six hours later I come back and I did not eat a single bite out of the chicken and had the receipt in hand. They gave me an extreme hard time about the fact that they gave me the wrong food but couldn’t exchange the food for something I can actually eat? They were so rude and demeaning to me it was so sad. I can’t hear and I can barely communicate with them and they barely had the patience with me. After awhile they finally did give me a replacement but not the one I originally intended and requested earlier from an EMPLOYEE of bbq chicken. Instead they ran out of the galbi boneless. So I went with honey garlic. . I do not know why the first employee gave me the chicken that I didn’t request for. I specifically asked for the boneless chicken galbi and I got something else that was totally different and inedible to me. And paying almost 19$ for something I couldn’t even eat. Anyway I did get the chicken but a different chicken flavor that I didn’t want initially and without smug looks and without an extreme hard time. I ate the chicken, it was cold. And soggy. Very sad experience. The sauce was really good though and the chicken itself was OKAY.
