BCD Tofu House is one of the best soondubu restaurants, hands down. The soondubu is rich, flavorful, and consistently satisfying—exactly what you expect from a top-tier Korean tofu house. Every visit delivers the same high quality, which is why this place stands out. All of the staff are friendly and professional, but I especially want to recognize the Manager , who usually works in the late afternoon. He is exceptionally kind, attentive, and genuinely cares about the customers. His presence and leadership clearly make a difference in the overall dining experience. Excellent food, outstanding service, and strong management. This location truly sets the standard for soondubu. Highly recommended.
A perennial favorite when we’re in NYC (or their Fort Lee location). The food always satisfies with generous portions and reasonable prices. We are partial to the galbi, seafood pancake, jap chae, seafood soon tofu. Nice variety of side dishes. Always a wait at the nyc branch but worth it.
Visited here on recommendation from a few frequenters in NYC. I thought this would be an underground spot, but it absolutely was not; humble doors open to a sprawling high-ceiling seating area with multiple areas and a loft. Ninety-five percent of the seats were filled. We were recommended the kimchi soon tofu (a soft tofu soup served with rice on the side), and the seafood pancakes. I went for the dumpling soon tofu, which was delicious and filling. Make sure to crack the egg into the soup early, so it cooks. Between all the banchan, rice, and soup, the price was more than worth it. Will definitely be taking guests here in the future.
The seafood soon tofu is so good. Came at 16.30 on a Tuesday - there’s no queue! Word of advice? Get at least mild - I’ve tried different spice levels and mild was the best for me (I don’t eat spicy). Don’t get plain hahah. They give you tons of side dishes so you’ll definitely be full. Service is fast as the place is super busy and the staff needs to keep things flowing. Fave affordable Korean soup place in NYC!
Stopped by on a whim walking back to my hotel. What a surprise! They were packed, still seated me within 15 minutes. Ordered the Vegetable Tofu Soon, and they brought a huge spread of little appetizers that were included for the $20. Everything but the strange whole fish was great (I’m too squeamish to try eating a fish that still has a face), but I was completely baffled by the raw egg in a bowl. Ended up having to google it that you’re meant to crack it into the soup, which is served boiling. Cools the soup, cooks the egg. You know food is good when the faux cultured white chick has to google how to eat it. Best soup I’ve ever had, and the portion was massive. Devastated I couldn’t bring it back with me, but my hotel doesn’t have a fridge. A must try, great value, awesome attentive staff who notice the second you start looking around for help.
Nice casual Korean spot in K town. This is a good place for walkins we were two and we got a table in less than 10 min. The food is good. They don’t really specialize in classic Korean bbq so don’t expect that. You order the dishes and they come to your table. I really love their spicy tofu soup. Galbi was okay too but I think their bulgogi is better.
Best place to have Korean meal in K-Town area - especially if you're craving any type of tofu soups! Orders come with plenty of side dishes and taste fantastic. For those who cannot handle a lot of spice - the side dishes are on the mild end! The soups also has option for plain to extremely spicy levels on a huge gradient scale that you can choose from. This place tends to be very busy during normal hours, so we recommend coming during off hours if you can. Otherwise, prepare to be in line for a while during normal lunch or dinner service times. Once you're in, you may need to wave down servers to order or ask for things as they manage several tables and are constantly running back and forth.
This restaurant was so big with 2 levels and busy . They open until 5 AM early morning. They have so many side dishes and I love Kimchi & Fish tofu,Staffs were fast services, nice and helpful, decent food, and reasonable prices. Tofu soup is so good , but need to be careful die to they served with the hot pot it was full of the flavor. We love LA Galbi combo , Spicy raw crab combo , Spicy stir fired squid were so good and delicious. For the drink , I was recommended draft makgeolli , good together with Korean food. Confirmed. I was recommended this place and I would come again by soon.

BCD is great! The food warms my soul. I've been coming here for over a decade and the food is still good. They are generous with the side dishes as well.

BCD Tofu House is always my first stop whenever I’m in NYC and the place I take every guest who visits me. Located right in the heart of Koreatown, it’s fast, affordable, and consistently delicious. Yes, there’s usually a wait (it’s K-Town, after all), but I tend to go later at night and it’s always worked out perfectly. The dining room is surprisingly spacious, and the staff moves with lightning speed. You’re seated, you order, and your food arrives before you even start to wonder where it is. The soondubu (tofu soup) hits the spot every single time rich, comforting, and customizable to your spice level. And the free banchan (side dishes) just make the whole experience even better. It’s one of those meals that feels like a hug, especially on a cold NYC night. If you’re looking for a reliable, flavorful, and satisfying Korean meal in Midtown, BCD Tofu House never misses. Highly recommend!
A staple for Korean food. The set is quite good value. It’s perfect on a cold winter day to have the spicy tofu soup. I do think it gets a little salty and I kept drinking water. The galbi is great super tender and flavored. Also love all the banchan especially the fried fish. A walk in only spot, be ready to wait but usually it’s not over 30 minutes
Almost like a standard Korean restaurant. ✨Many side dishes, fast services, decent food, and reasonable prices. Tofu soup is definitely a must and worth the price. Intestine tofu soup was intense since the soup will be full of the flavor. It came with an egg and rice, you can be full after this meal. Spicy sauce crab was a raw and cold dish. Super Korean thing which I loved it. But the taste was pretty heavy and spicy.
Went out for dinner with friends and had to wait over 40 minutes for a table of six. This place seems better suited for smaller groups (2–4 people)—otherwise, expect a long wait. That said, the food was excellent! They offered a few complimentary snacks, which was a nice touch and gave us a preview of the menu. The standout dish was definitely the Seafood Tofu Soup—rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. If you’re not in a rush and enjoy good food, it’s worth the visit. Just plan ahead if you’re coming with a bigger group.
I feel like this place is a homey Korean staple! I like all the sides dishes that come out and yes the main event of the tofu stew/soondooboo definitely hits the spot. It's hearty and good and not to…
Staffs are rude, but the food are amazing. Love how the interior looks, it is really clean. Other than the fact the waiters kept rushing you to order your food, the restaurant is great.

Food is great for lunch, I usually always come here for lunch with coworkers or by myself. But I honestly was left really disappointed this time and won’t be coming back. I always get the spicy squid and ask for very little spice. It’s never been a problem until now. It wasn’t just the mistake, but the fact they tried to convince me that this was the least spicy possible. This isn’t even the mild version, this is extra. You can see the clear difference in the two pictures. The less “spicy” one is visibly different. Honestly, they wont treat you very good if you’re a solo dinner. If you’re gonna go, go with a group or go somewhere else.
Seafood tofu stew was actually very good — if only there had been a bit more seafood, it would’ve been perfect. But the beef? A complete disaster. I’ve honestly never had beef this unappetizing before. Tough, dry, and just unbelievable… and they charged me over $30 something for this plate 😭😭😭 Ironically, the side dishes were way more appealing! The fried fish was delicious 😋 As for the beef — chef, please! You can do better!
