After a spicy dinner in koreatown, nothing beats a nice cool refreshing drink, and ice cream with to with it makes it even better. My second time coming to this place and it was packed with people, but understandable since it is Valentine’s Day. The service was quick though (around 5-10mins wait. There are also plenty of seating areas. The tea was very flavorful and I’m starting to prefer hojicha over regular matcha. Recommend giving this place a try.
Been here several times and have tried almost all the flavors and I can say it tastes just like the one in Japan! It is desserts only (parfaits, cakes, and lattes), unlike other locations with food items. The parfaits will cost around $13 but they are so good. Matcha parfait: very good matcha flavor, I like getting the nama chocolate. It is very rich and you will likely want water to go with it Hojicha parfait: rich hojicha flavor, liked the syrup at the end and overall I think hojicha adds to the sweetness. Seasonal spring Sakura strawberry parfait: it was an extra $2 so I had high hopes and was not disappointed. Topped with strawberry, Sakura bean paste, and mochi with Sakura ice cream, vanilla and Sakura soft serve, and strawberry syrup. Hojicha chocolate cake: it was okay but not my favorite type of cake, a denser cake with more texture. I liked the flavor of it, though!
I had never tried matcha ice cream before, and it’s honestly something nobody should miss out on. It’s incredibly fresh, smooth, and definitely something you’ll want more than one round of. I love that they have kiosks to place your order - it makes the process quick and easy. The service is fast, and the atmosphere is very open with plenty of seating, which is a huge plus. I kept my order simple this time just to try it out, and now I can’t wait to go back and explore more of the options they offer. Highly recommend to come check this place out!
Pretty busy but I liked the vibes of the place a lot, very chill and relatively spacious. Wanna come back again - Matcha warabimochi parfait: 9/10, every compliment was so good, and the matcha ice cream had a strong taste, which I liked. Loved the red bean scoop. -1 point bc I wish they replaced the vanilla ice cream w/ more matcha ice cream. The mochi and matcha jellies were yummy too *Note: Wanna try their hojicha warabimochi parfait next time
My favorite place for ice cream. I love the matcha soft serve, best I ever had. Creamy and true matcha flavor, the matcha cake is dense and delicious. They have a season ube soft serve that is amazing as well. I love the mochi and red bean in it, it’s sweet by the ube flavor comes through and does not taste artificial.
I treated myself to two incredible desserts, and both were absolutely worth it! Matcha Parfait: This parfait was a showstopper — beautifully layered and packed with flavor. The combination of matcha ice cream, whipped cream, soft chewy mochi, and crunchy flakes made every bite a perfect mix of textures. The drizzle of matcha syrup on top gave it that deep, earthy matcha kick that matcha lovers dream of. It’s rich, refreshing, and surprisingly balanced. Not overly sweet, just right. Ube Soft Serve Cone: The ube soft serve was smooth, creamy, and had that distinct sweet, nutty ube flavor. The color alone makes you want to dive in, and the waffle cone added the perfect crunch. It’s a simple dessert but done really well — light, fragrant, and super satisfying. Overall: The presentation was gorgeous, the flavors were spot-on, and the ambiance of the shop made it even better. Whether you’re a matcha fan, an ube lover, or just someone with a sweet tooth, this place delivers. Highly recommend giving both treats a try!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you’re a matcha lover 🍵 in NYC, Nana’s Green Tea Cafe near 33rd Street is a must-visit! The location is super convenient — just a quick 2-minute walk from the subway, and you step into a big, lively, and beautifully designed space. They have plenty of matcha options on the menu, and I decided to go with the Iced Matcha Latte with oat milk 🧋 (regular size, $9 with $1 extra for oat milk). Ordering was easy through their self-kiosk, and even though the cafe was crowded, my drink was ready in under 10 minutes 👏. The atmosphere was buzzing with energy — great for groups of 4+, and also perfect for a cozy couple date 💚. Lots of seating options and a really friendly vibe. Now the drink itself… wow. The matcha was super creamy, smooth, and perfectly balanced — not too sweet, nice concentrated flavor, and really refreshing. Honestly, it was the cherry on top of my whole visit. Overall, this place deserves a solid 5/5 🌟. Whether you’re a die-hard matcha fan or just curious to try, you’ll love it here. 👉 Tip: If you’re visiting for the first time, start with the Iced Matcha Latte (oat milk is worth the extra $1). Go for the large size if you’re a heavy matcha drinker — trust me, you’ll want more!
A true heaven for matcha lovers. Bright, airy space with a relaxed vibe. The matcha is the star—bold, fragrant, and not overly sweet. Tons of options from soft serve and parfaits to lattes. My favorites were the Matcha Parfait (with matcha nama cubes, red bean, and tea jelly) and the Iced Matcha Latte—a perfect combo. A must-visit if you love green tea.
Nana’s Green Tea is a dessert lover’s dream! Their matcha soft serve is unbelievably smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced—not too sweet, just pure matcha goodness. The texture is so creamy and refreshing, and the presentation makes it even more enjoyable. Easily the best matcha soft serve I’ve had in New York, and absolutely worth the trip!
Came to try their desserts for the first time. I ordered the matcha soft serve with mochi and red bean. It was pretty good, not too sweet, a bit pricey though. Menu was extensive, I’ll probably come back for the parfaits next time. Store had seating but it was packed when I went. Service was good, did it have to wait long.
Nana's Green Tea is a popular Matcha dessert place serving many things all based around matcha, such as soft serve parfaits, drinks, and more. This place is very similar to other Matcha dessert places, there are multiple self order kiosks and a lot of seating. There is a bathroom here as well, but it is locked with a code. It didn't take long for us to get our order though. We got a matcha soft serve parfait, lowkey looked a bit underwhelming because they only put 2 mochi balls and a tiny amount of red bean. The flavor was just alright, not very strong.
Nana’s has my favorite iced matcha latte in all of New York — the vibrant green color alone tells you that it is rich in matcha flavor, not watered down like some other spots! I always order it sugar-free and with soy milk, especially when craving a refreshing beverage in the heat of summer. I found their other desserts to be far too sweet but definitely recommend the soy milk matcha latte!
Nana’s Green Tea in Nomad is such a delightful little spot — the perfect place to unwind after a meal, especially if you’ve just had something spicy. My family stopped by right after eating Korean food nearby, and it completely hit the spot. The drinks were light, refreshing, and exactly what we needed to cool down. The menu offers a great variety of matcha-based drinks and desserts, and everything looks beautifully presented. I ordered one of their iced drinks, and the portion was surprisingly generous — a big, satisfying cup filled with smooth matcha and plenty of ice to keep it cold without watering it down too quickly. You can tell they use quality matcha because the flavor was earthy, rich, and not too bitter. The café itself is adorable — clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed. There’s a calm, relaxing atmosphere with soft jazz playing in the background, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. It’s a great spot for a casual hangout, a quiet date, or even just some alone time with a good drink and dessert. Overall, Nana’s Green Tea is a gem in the Nomad area. Refreshing drinks, cute ambiance, and great service — I’ll definitely be coming back.
Nana’s Green Tea has one of the best matcha ice creams I’ve ever had! I do think they’ve been skimping on the matcha a bit lately since it used to taste stronger, but it’s still really good. I try to stop by every time I’m in K-Town, and it’s always busy, which says a lot. Definitely worth a visit if you love matcha!
Excellent parfaits - had the matcha and horjicha ones, both came with mochi, red bean and ice cream. I prefer the horjicha since I’m not a big fan of matcha. Nice spot to meet up with friends over dessert… not so sure about drinks, since I got the horjicha latte and it was gross. (Tasted like some powder ovaltine). Staff are helpful - self service via kiosk to order - grab your seats - careful to hold onto your parfait glasses to the lower seating area. Pretty parfaits, pricey dessert but great for sharing tho.
Spacious, but packed spot right on the corner of Ktown. The desserts here are all pretty solid - the matcha taste is distinct in the ice cream and it's not overtly sweet. For their soft serves, you can opt for a cup instead of their cone. The parfaits are pretty; a bit impractical to eat, considering the shape of the tall cup and short spoon. They call your number out when your order is ready to grab from the counter. The bathroom code is on the receipt. There are tons of seats, but they're always taken, since there's no seating limit, so you'd likely get a table once you see a party leave. Overall, a decent spot for a post-meal treat!
The frappe was nice and the sweet potato latte tasted like red bean. The girl at the counter wasn't friendly she had a attitude but the drinks were fine you can order at a kiosk.
3.5 food Finally went to Nana's. There was a lot of space/seating and was warm inside. Can order at one of 2 kiosks or at the counter. Ordered the Matcha soft serve with gateau chocolate in a waffle cone. Around $10. Shared it and was enough. Soft serve is creamy matcha and was good (though I prefer stronger matcha flavor). The gateau chocolate was very dense and dry, not really flavorful so would have skipped that. Restroom available.
If you like matcha, it's worth a try! We ordered a parfait. Price point I could say it's expensive for a dessert but it sure does have a lot of toppings and ingredients. Place is crowded and sometimes filled with people. It's located in a very busy street so understandable in a way. Service was quick. You order via a kiosk, so its easy to pick what you want to order. The menu is quite extensive for a matcha place!
