This place is magnificent! The food? On spot. The dumplings any kind are so delicious and juicy and full. Great pricing and I LOVE how they have an open window to peak at people cooking your food! Their pan fried pork buns were very delicious. I recommend the dry pot chicken aswell. This is my new go to authentic restaurant.
A very comfortable and welcoming place, extremely clean, with absolutely delicious food. The portions are generous and well-served, leaving nothing to be desired. The service was excellent, and the staff was incredibly kind and attentive. If you have the opportunity to visit, don’t hesitate you should definitely come!
Stopped by for lunch after spending the day at a nearby day spa. Ordered the sticky rice, chicken soup dumplings, Peking duck bao, and shrimp dumplings. While initially wifey was disappointed in the size of the shrimp dumplings and sticky rice, it worked that it was plenty of food. Everything was tasty. I really enjoyed the duck seeing as how I have not had it in a while. The chicken soup dumplings tasted great as well. Wifey enjoyed the shrimp dumplings and the sticky rice. Service was quick. We were seated right away and the place was not busy. Most likely would come back if in the area again.
I really enjoyed my food here. I had the shrimp and pork shumai and the fried soup dumplings. They were exactly what I wanted. The staff here is friendly and helpful. I really like the space and how much seating there is even though it seems small from the outside. There are so many things I want to try on the menu, but honestly I will probably get what I had since it was so good. I recommend coming here! Also love the name!
Perfect! The food is wonderful and overall just an amazing place to have a good meal.

Took a while to get seated. The food comes in big portions, but my group enjoyed every part of it. The restaurant is clean and the service is great.
AMAZING i just loved it, you should try it out sometime. The food is simply divine and delicious, one of the best Chinese dishes i’ve ever eaten.

Food is fresh and maybe the best Chinese food I have ever had. You can tell the dish is prepared by a chef who loves their work.

Everything’s alright. Nothing special. But nothing bad either. Food was ok. Broth was nothing special. I ordered yellow croaker noodle soup with pickled cabbage. It might look sad in the photo but I finished it. But wasn’t blown away either. Service was quick and professional. Went there for lunch and rather busy but other patrons weren’t loud. Might come back and try other dim sum items.
This is a lovely restaurant..we were the only ones dining there at 4pm on a Thursday, but my oh my were our dishes a gastronome's delight...the garlic chili noodles, mapo tofu, and dry pot beef were indescribably delicious. The young man who served us was also behind the register and he never returned to ask whether we needed anything...BUT he quickly came to our table when I got his attention. He graciously packed my leftovers for carryout after misunderstanding and placing more fire in the table top stove underneath my dry pot beef. I would definitely return to Baodega to try some other dishes!
Started our meal with the Steamed shrimp crystal Dumplings which were tasty. The Hot pot pickled cabbage fish had a lovely garlic flavour it came out with the flame on and the dish was steaming till the end of our meal. The Hot pot fish was spicy and garlicky, very tasty and the fish was well cooked.

I guess my expectations were too high! I expected to eag the very best dumplings ever… I ordered a crispy one - which I thought was crispy from frypaning it but it was actually deep fried, and too oily so I didn’t even finish it - and the grandma’s soup dumplings - which don’t get me wrong, they were good, but just not wow as in my opinion they should have been and it is suppose to be the main dishes in the restaurant!
The service is great but not busy either. Food was good mostly. Peking duck was amazing and get lots of duck. 10/10. The pork bun looked like it was lacking but taste was great. 8/10. The crab roe pork soup dumpling was 3/10. Taste wasn't great. Pork was hard. No soup. No ginger in the sauce. No hot oil.
Pretty good Chinese find near the corner of 20th street, especially around the area where it’s rarer to find one. Had their lunch meals at $15 each with a wide variety of option - includes a bowl of rice and a soup as well. Really loved the sweet and sour soup - really well done and not too overly flavored or thick like most places. Rice was fragrant and tasted as if it’s a home-cooked meal. Ordered the Kungpow Chicken as the main - it was pretty average - some were overcooked and charred, and overall the black bean sauce was a little too overpowering. Also abit on the oilier side in overall. Service otherwise was prompt and efficient. Plenty of good seats inside too in a clean environment. Worth a try for sure if you are craving for Asian cuisines - not sure if this is truly authentic Asian style but surely can fulfill your cravings.
Food 3/5 The pan fried dumplings were amazing, loved how thin the dough was along with the soup and meat filling. Quite disappointed in the beef noodle soup I ordered, as it was really bland and the beef was very overcooked. The beef dry hotpot was way too salty, so I think they have room for improvement in terms of seasoning. Interior 5/5 Very spacious interior, I liked the decor. Service 4/5 It's a super cute mom and pop owned restaurant, and the owners are super nice. Because there wasn't a lot of help, it took a while, which I understand.

REPLY to owner’s comment for specific feedback - Have you tried those three specific dishes yourself? The specific shortcomings are stated below. Not sure how much more specific to get into. The moat awful soup dumplings, even worse than the divvy Chinese takeout places. Dough - thick. Meat - dry. Juice - none. The yang chow fries rice was dripped in soy sauce. Yuck. The sautéed string beans was so small in portion and salty.
