Great tapas place on an UWS side street. Service is very good. Tapas were without exception delicious! They also have a nice selection of wines that match up with the variety of food nicely. Definitely a place to revisit more than once.
Buceo 95 is the best there is for Spanish Tapas. To start, the atmosphere is simply the best and the service is terrific. Everyone knows tomate con pan is the signature starter for Spain, but Buceo takes it to the next level and adds jamon to it. It is perfection. The next tapas we sampled were: bacon wrapped dates, and tortilla española (omg delish), and we didn’t have the patatas baravas(this time), but the same garlic aioli was used in the Totillas, and it was very tasty. Next, we split the Churrasco, grilled skirt steak. It was perfectly grilled to our liking, seasoning was amazing. I loved everything I ate and drank (red sangria pitcher!!!!), but the skirt steak was the best. Finally, we were able to enjoy the churros for desert. The entire staff was so nice and helpful throughout our dinner. This is our favorite tapas venue in NYC.
Wonderful spot with beautiful ambiance at night. The lighting in the establishment is perfect. They definitely overcharged for Diet Cokes, almost $10 a Diet Coke, but the spot was so good that it doesn't even matter and doesn't affect the Stars I'm giving to this review. I would highly recommend that other people come try this place out. I must mention that I did not try any of the food and any of the alcohol, I only had Diet Cokes here.
Went here last night with friends for a drink and snack and it was excellent! Great wine, tapas and warm and cozy vibe.
Wonderful restaurant! So many great options, you can’t go wrong. I would recommend the Fideos de Jabali in particular. Wonderful service as well
The food is fantastic and the staff is just great to interact with. Helpful and friendly. Most of the staff have been there for years, which tells you a LOT about this restaurant.
I couldn't have asked for anything more from this dining experience. Abundant meals provided without high prices. Every item showed attention to cooking details. The crowd on Sunday night explained the slower service. This restaurant rewards curious eaters.
Absolutely fantastic!!! The dining here represents culinary excellence. Their team treats customers with genuine care. The bill might surprise you, but specific items offer value. The setting welcomes you in with uncomplicated dishes. In general, it's terrific and remarkable !!!
The servers here seem genuinely happy while the vibe stays relaxed. Employees show wonderful friendliness and suggested perfectly satisfying dishes. My order had excellent flavor profiles. The entire visit left a good impression. Getting a table immediately is unlikely during busy times.
This is our faaaaavorite place! It’s “our” place. Food is outstanding (a few faves are bacon wrapped dates, braised cauliflower with manchego, pork belly). Just one request: a CHOCOLATE DESSERT OPTION PLEASE😂 anything! Chocolate mousse…. Flourless chocolate cake…. A square of plain dark chocolate!!!! 🥰 we love you!
We had tapas and drinks for dinner one night here and they were all great. Faves were the beet salad and the pork tenderloin special. The Garnacha, Mazuelo La Cartuja 2017 wine was amazingly good. No room for dessert so we came back the next night and had a Brandy Alejandro and the Torrija with helado. Perfect day ender. We will return!
Tucked away on the Upper West Side, Buceo 95 nails the cozy tapas vibe. The standout dish? Easily the fideos — thin Basque noodles that were unexpectedly fire. Comforting, flavorful, and perfectly crisp on the edges. The patatas bravas were another winner — crispy, well-seasoned, and impossible not to keep reaching for. The paella had great flavor, but leaned a bit dry. Still enjoyable, just not the star of the table. What really stood out besides the food was the vibe — laid-back and social, with a warm, dimly lit atmosphere perfect for sharing plates and stories. The staff let us linger and talk late into the night without ever rushing us, so we made sure to leave a solid tip. Perfect for a low-key date or family-style dinner with friends. Definitely planning to return.
Great Happy Hour! 5-7PM at the Bar My husband and I enjoyed happy hour with wine and delicious pintxos at reasonable prices. White wine, Red wine, Sangria $8 Pintxos $4−5 The pintxos pretty much cover the essence of the food at this restaurant menu. Our favourite pintxos were Bilbao(Fish croquettes), Gambas(grilled shrimp), Matador(ham and cheese) , my husband's favourite was the anchovy and olive skewer also. The Bar was full at 5:15pm.
Food was decent, particularly liked the fish cakes and the meatballs. Bread was served complimentary but was hard, far from fresh, and the oil dip tasted sour.
Can't believe it took us over six months to try out this amazing neighborhood Tapas place. Sandy, our server got us seated as we walked in around dinner time on a Sunday evening. Amazing vibe and noise levels on the lower end as we were seated on high top table. They have plenty of vegetarian options, and we got Patatas Fritas ($6), Hongos ($15) - which was the best plate!, Bereenjena ($12) which lacked taste, Albondigas ($15), and Gambas al Ajillo ($15) - shrimp tapas that was thoroughly enjoyed! Yes, it gets slightly expensive when doing Tapas, but some of the dishes were flavor bombs! The Patatas Fritas could've been slightly warmer, but none the less were pretty tasty! Will definitely visit again with family and friends for their excellent service, and friendly staff.
We were touring around and sat there for a couple of glasses of wine (very nice!) and pinchos at happy hour time. It was a Sunday, the bar and atmosphere were ok, better than the other places nearby. But coming from Chelsea down under the neighborhood felt dead, and not very in the mood. So this is clearly a biased review maybe.
More like 3.5 :) it was not bad overall, but not as good as I expected either. PROS - service was amazing! - really liked the atmosphere. - a lot of menu choices. CONS - inconsistent cooking - some dishes slightly under, some slightly over. I do plan on going back and trying other dishes in the menu that sounded great! Also, I arrived at 5pm when they opened, but leaving was very difficult to navigate through because like they mention on their website it is a small space. People were just kind of standing everywhere blocking tables from getting out. I might try patio seating next time. It looked cozy too, just less congestion :)
Food was not that good, especially conpared to these ratings. Artichokes tasted like they were grilles from the can. Paella had 0 depth of flavors; like packaged spanish rice cooked separately from seafood. Dates were overcooked. Sangria was tasty but smallest pitcher ever. Not cheap. Not worth a re/visit
I have no idea how this place has such high ratings. All of the dishes were either underseasoned or cooked improperly. The chicken croquetas lacked salt and were topped with a balsamic glaze, which was odd. The steak (Churrasco) also lacked salt and had a strange blob of garlic sauce on top. The menu was full of strange concoctions (not in a good way) that I’ve never seen at any other tapas place in the city. It If you like flavorful dishes and salt, I’d avoid this place.
This restaurant is okay. Every bottle of wine I ordered (3 bottles) the waiter brought me the wrong bottle. The pane con tamate had virtually no tomato on it, the mushrooms, had way too much cheese on it, and the skirt steak had no salt on it and was under seasoned. I accidentally left my credit card there and asked them to drop the card in the mail. They were unable to do so. After spending over $500, they could not spend 40 cents on a stamp to return my card. I certainly will not be returning to this restaurant. The tapas was okay at best. There are many other restaurants with better tapas and pintxos.
