I booked a reservation for my birthday and am delighted that I did. Although my request for a table for two near the front of the boat was initially lost, Katherine and Ashely, the hostesses, ensured that it was accommodated, setting a positive tone for the evening. The restaurant offered breathtaking views and delectable options, but what truly stood out was the exceptional service, which I would rate as five-star. Our server, Tansu, made the experience truly memorable. I would highly recommend Grand Banks and definitely plan to return, drawn by its unique ambiance and outstanding cocktails and cuisine.
Overall, a highly recommended spot✨! The ambiance is lovely, the service attentive, and both the food and drinks are top-notch🍹. I visited a while ago, so now that it’s colder❄️, it might be less comfortable. A friendly reminder: reservations are required📅, and no-shows incur a fee. The experience wasn’t as dizzying as I had imagined, and the views are beautiful, with a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty🗽—perfect for a small gathering with friends👯♀️. The drinks are consistently good🍷, with no disappointments, and the lobster roll🦞 and oysters🥂 are definitely worth trying. Overall, a very enjoyable experience💯, reasonably priced, and I would gladly return👍.
This place is absolutely awesome! The food and drinks made my day everything was so delicious that I couldn’t get enough. The view was stunning, and the whole experience felt nostalgic, reminding me of the floating cottages in the Philippines. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, perfect for anyone who enjoys dining by the sea. The staff were polite, easy to talk to, and made me feel really comfortable throughout my visit. However, I wouldn’t recommend it for people who are sensitive to motion sickness, since the restaurant is on a boat and can sway a bit. If you love great food, refreshing drinks, and a beautiful waterfront view, I highly recommend making a reservation here. You won’t regret it!
This place is fantastic! I have been here a few times for lunch with my coworkers and it is always a really good experience. The boat dos have days that it sways a lot, so if you are a person that’s sensitive to motion sickness, then this is not the place for you. This is a seasonal restaurant, so they open in April and close towards end of October, depending on the weather. We ordered the lobster roll, scallops, spritz, and the chocolate dessert. All were really tasty! And don’t forget the view!
Great outdoorsy oyster bar experience. The boat dining space offers a unique experience on the water, with many fun seating options. I liked being by the oyster bar watching fresh assortments being prepared, in an ideal spot for 2 people among the busy setup due to the popularity of the restaurant. Cocktails are summery and refreshing, and everything pairs well with the oysters.
I went here to celebrate my birthday, and WOW—everything was insanely fresh! 🦪 We kicked things off with oysters (can’t remember which kind, but who cares—it was amazing) and XL shrimp—seriously, SO fresh! Then came the sea scallops, Caesar salad, and lobster roll. The scallops? Perfectly seared. The corn succotash? Absolutely to die for. And to top it all off… the piña colada ice cream. Hands down, the BEST way to end a birthday meal! 🍨✨
Love this spot and try to come at least once in the summer. You definitely need a reservation. The boat is a little shaky, so check in with your date in case they get sea sick! Overall the vibe is great and if you sit at the oyster bar you get to see the chef opening the oysters. We tried the Southampton oysters, the scallops and the lobster roll and love it! Recommend checking out this place if you live in the area or visiting from out of town, it’s worth the trip.
Grand Banks is truly one of the most unique dining spots in NYC! Floating on the Hudson with unbeatable waterfront views, it’s the perfect place for a summer evening. The oysters were incredibly fresh, and every dish we tried had that perfect balance of flavor and elegance — simple, but done so right. Cocktails were top-tier and paired beautifully with the whole coastal vibe. The ambiance is laid-back yet refined, and the staff was welcoming and attentive, I'd only pay attention when reserving bc it can get really hot and uncomfortable to seat in the sun at noon so make sure you get a table with shadow or at the bar if you want to enjoy lunch not sweaty!! Whether you’re visiting the city or a local looking for something special, Grand Banks is a must. Can’t wait to go back!
Unique restaurant with great views of the city and Jersey. Good food and ambience! Had a resy for 10:30 on a Saturday but to be honest it probably wasn’t needed as many seats were open. The brunch food was great! For me the avocado toast was standout although it was quite spicy (I thought it was perfect but it’s hot for others). French toast was also good. The meatballs were certainly unique for brunch. I thought they were pretty good though. One thing to note is that the boat does rock a bit so maybe those prone to sea sickness may want to be aware. Overall, I’d definitely come back as I thought the food was great and cool setting
If I could give more than ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I absolutely would!! What an experience. We made reservations for the Oyster Bar for a large group and they were accommodating and easy to work with. We enjoyed super fresh oysters shucked right there in front of us, delicious buttery caviar, chilled shrimp cocktail (some of the largest shrimps I have seen served that way and de-veined perfectly), and the fries/lobster rolls were 👌🏼. The waitstaff were very attentive and friendly, and the service in general was the best we experience during our weekend trip to the city. 10/10 would recommend and cannot wait to go back!!!
Wow! There's no place in NY on the Hudson like Grand Banks. The view is amazing. We have been driving 2 hrs each way to come here for years. The drinks are strong and flavorful. The food even better. To us this place is a mini vacation in itself to escape the troubles of the world. Our service is always top notch with Hallie tending to our food and drink needs. She even had amazing suggestions on modifying some drinks to suit the alcohol I like. Grand Banks is lucky to have her and so are we to have met her. We literally booked our next adventure in July while on the boat and requested Hallie as our server. Views of the Trade Center and Statue of Liberty are just the cherry on top of this one of a kind venue. Come see for yourself what all the buzz is about!
🌟 Grand Banks Review — Best Waterfront Dining with a Statue of Liberty View If you're looking for a truly unforgettable NYC experience, Grand Banks on the Hudson delivers it all — amazing seafood, unbeatable sunset vibes, and a front-row view of the Statue of Liberty. Located on a historic wooden schooner docked at Pier 25, this floating oyster bar gives you that rare mix of casual elegance and postcard-perfect scenery. Whether you're sipping a cold cocktail or enjoying their fresh oysters, you’ll literally be dining on the water with Lady Liberty glowing in the distance. The atmosphere is chill but classy, perfect for date nights, special occasions, or just treating yourself. The staff is super friendly, the drinks are strong, and the seafood is fresh and well-seasoned. Try the lobster roll — it’s a favorite for a reason.

Amazing place for a bite to eat or just a drink at one of their two big bars. Views were spectacular, food was delicious and service was great. Super dog friendly too!

There is so much to do in NYC with so many places to have a meal. We made reservations for 3:00 pm on Saturday April 20th. Was a busy place as we were sat down at our table. What a setting, what…
The food was amazing! This little place is gorgeous! Not only is there a view of the water, you’re even on a boat which just adds to the idea of a seafood restaurant. Definitely a meal to remember.
This place was super unique and fun! We waited probably an hour to get our oysters when our other items came out before… they ended up comping them for us which was great. Drinks are good - service was a bit slower and it was difficult to get their attention but it may have been very busy. I’d recommend to friends!
I have been wanting to try this place for drinks for forever! My friends and I sat at the bar and the vibes were definitely vibing. Drinks were served fast and they kept looping around the bar to make sure we didn’t need anything. We are students so we couldn’t indulge in food here because of the price but we wanted to experience the drinks! They were a little pricy for the size but honestly, you’re paying for the atmosphere! Being on a boat is awesome. If you get motion sick easily, I do not recommend to try even for drinks. The boat was rocking the entire time and I can see how that wouldn’t be an ideal situation for someone trying to eat dinner. But it comes with the territory! I feel like this would be the biggest vibe ever during sunset so might have to give it a try next time!
Grand Banks is such a beautiful and unique spot — you can’t beat the location or the atmosphere. We had an 8 PM reservation but ended up waiting in line and weren’t seated until 8:30. Oddly, they could only find one menu for the two of us. Our server didn’t come by until a little before 9. The oysters were fantastic, but they were just dropped off without telling us the varieties (which is half the fun!). I ordered the special lobster frites with Old Bay — absolutely delicious — but surprisingly, there were no crackers, so we had to break into the claws with forks. Not exactly what you expect at a seafood restaurant. Overall, I’d definitely return for the vibes and the food, but the service was extremely slow and felt a bit disorganized. Hopefully next time, it’s a smoother experience.
Finally dined here and a lovely time was had. Since both my friend and I hadn’t been we decided to split a bunch of items off the menu and that was such a good decision. Everything was fresh and delicious. We sat at the oyster bar, which I really liked actually because we got to see different types of oysters being shucked. The waitstaff were all really nice. The mocktails we got were perfect but I should have gotten the permanent vacation. Next time! Check the weather and make reservations! There was a wait fr seating and we were lucky to get in with no reservation and only waited 5 minutes, maybe 10. Can’t wait to come back and try different things off the menu.
Loved this spot. If the day is sunny, this is your best plan for the weekend. They have different sitting spots, we were at the bar. We had a lobster roll, some oysters, avocado toast and a salmon toast. We went at 11 am, brunch kind of plan. We had some drinks, mimosa was nice, aperol too and the view is amazing. Would love to come back.

The ambiance is as euro summer you can get in NYC. The prices are on the higher side - to be expected. But you can't beat the atmosphere and quick "getaway" from the city.

glad we tried this place because they are super dog friendly, everyone was so welcoming. it’s super busy so you definitely need to reserve. the view is beautiful and the boat is nice, though it does rock and make you queasy. the drinks were delicious but took 45 mins to arrive, oysters came first and quickly. food took forever to order and even longer to arrive and it was mid tier at best. good lobster roll and good scallops but so overpriced. service was nonexistent. server took forever though she was really nice. had to flag someone else down to try and get our server and they said no words just walked away. price exorbitant given the quality you receive.

Came here 8/2 around 5pm. Service was really slow. Food was pretty subpar for the prices. $6 for a flat fountain Diet Coke. $39 for a lobster roll that should’ve been $19. Crudo was flavorless, but looked beautiful. The cherry on top was looking at the receipt after paying and noticing I was charged $3 for something called “charity water” that the waiter began pouring at the start of service without our consent, I said tap please and then couldn’t hear him over the music. But they poured water that they charged us for. Never had that happen in the city. I’m disappointed because this place was on my bucket list. You hope the food and drinks would offer something special, but it was all really disappointing. Way too overpriced for what it was.

Went here for dinner. Ordered the scallops and they were completely underdone, under seasoned, overpriced. Even in my attached photo you can see how translucent they are, barely cooked, borderline raw. Their size was incredibly small too. These are sea scallops, and they should be quite large. Lobster roll taste wise was okay, but I don’t understand charging 39 dollars for a lobster roll and then not providing a side with it. Is it really that much of an expense to put a few chips or fries with the dish since the actual roll itself is quite small anyway? Anyways, aggressively mediocre food. Good for tourists who can say they ate on the Hudson. Do NOT come here if you want decent food. You could get takeout from anywhere else and eat it on a bench right next to the boat and get a bigger bang for your buck.
