Just want to say WOW, what an amazing iconic piece of history tucked away just off Times Square if you are a boxing fan this bar is a must. We stumbled across this place on our last day in New York and wow it completely rounded the trip off for me it’s my favourite place in New York, prior to walking in despite being a massive boxing fan I had no knowledge of this bars existence or even who Jimmy was but we went in and were surrounded by legendary photographs and memorabilia and we ended up sitting down having a couple pints ($3 a pint btw on Times Square!!!!) and we looked around the bar then began to read online about Jimmy and the bar and what an amazing guy he was, RIP Jimmy Glenn I’m so glad we were blessed just to randomly walk in your bar on our absolute last stop in the last hour of being in New York it felt like fate. We also read online that apparently property developers are fighting to have the bar evicted and I just want to say now hand on heart that this little bar has more history, character and authenticity about it than any of these fancy new sky scrapers/view points. Whilst being in Jimmys Corner I got a real feel for New York, bar has been unchanged since 1971 and that includes the prices, I only wish I found this place sooner and I’d of spent every night in there. The guy on the bar was friendly too he seen me taking pictures and in awe of the place and he came and gave me a Jimmys Corner sticker so thank you for that if you read this and keep up the great work. Hopefully next time I visit New York this amazing place is still here, best of luck to everybody involved❤️.
Oh Jimmy's Corner. What a place. Old school American working people's bar that somehow survives. This is a beer and a shot kind of place. Don't order cocktails beyond a whiskey and coke or whatever, they're not a cocktail bar. Know what you're going to order to not waste their time, there'll be someone to take your seat if you don't. Cheers to you, Jimmy's corner, and all of the heroes who drink in you.
Classic New York institution with great drinks and iconic jukebox. Great crowd and super friendly bartenders. Please don’t tear this place down for stupid condos.
Great Dive Bar in the heart of NYC. Worth the trip is you are a connoisseur of dive bars. The prices can't be beat.
One of the cheapest bar in Manhattan, but it's good too. Drinks are nice according to the price. If you are a boxing fan then you have to visit this place. A lot of pictures of boxing legends. It's pretty crowded on weekends so if you want a table then you need to get here early. Around 8 for a table i guess. Staff is friendly and nice. Walking distance from times square.
Hands down my favorite dive bar near Times Square. I don’t know what these other people are talking about but I felt welcomed when I visited. I got my beer, and sat down at a table no problems. Visited from Texas and it’s just the type of place I like, no one bothers you. Beer was priced cheap too. If you want a place to chill out with some friends this is the bar for you.
We love Jimmys!! We found them on Reddit a couple years ago and go every time we’re in NYC. The drinks are such a great price and Martina the bartender is amazing. We always meet the coolest people there. Also drinks are like 3 bucks which is unheard of. Very crowded all the time but once you get a bar seat you’re golden
Cheap beer. Badass Boxing history all over the place. I would call It a dive but It was packed on a Tuesday afternoon with only a few tables left in the back. Definitely local spot. Hidden gem in the middle of all the tourist trap Bs surrounding it. Beer was cold. Texas stamp of approval.
It's a dive bar with sentimental history. The most affordable drinks and an ecclectic assortment of characters. I meet someone new every time I go. No one minds standing for a couple of hours.
What an icon in the busiest spot in Manhattan. People are friendly and the place is very cozy. I have always liked quaint friendly bars over posh swanky places. So glad I got to check this place off the list of NYC icons.
Easily the best bar in Times Square, and honestly in all of Manhattan. Family owned, run by great people. Must visit if you’re in New York.
My sisters and I had a few drinks here yesterday. Bartender was very nice, drinks great, prices exceptional. It was unusually quiet which we didnt mind...all seats taken but not too much talking. We had a great time and will definitely be back!

This bar is a quintessential old school NYC dive. You get all kinds of characters (old and new) walking in there. The jukebox is outstanding. Love this place!
Love dive bars. This is probably the only old school Times Square bar left. beer and drinks are cheap. Bartenders are friendly and you can tell it is an original.

I recommend this bar cause the drinks are cheap and we saw so much drama pop off within 3 hours it could have been a tv show. Literally comical and best value for booze in Times Square area 100%
One of the best local bars in NYC. Atmosphere, people, and service. Get in there and meet a local for drink.

Jimmy’s Corner is a rare find in the heart of Times Square—a genuine dive bar that offers a nostalgic step back in time. Opened in 1971 by boxing trainer Jimmy Glenn, the bar is adorned with boxing memorabilia, including framed photos and autographed gloves, reflecting Glenn’s illustrious career. Atmosphere: The ambiance is cozy and unpretentious, with a narrow layout that adds to its charm. The walls are lined with vintage photos and boxing paraphernalia, creating a unique and authentic environment. Service: The staff is friendly and efficient, ensuring patrons feel welcome. Despite the bar’s popularity, service remains attentive, contributing to a positive experience. Drinks: Jimmy’s Corner is known for its affordable drinks, offering some of the cheapest options in the city. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic beer or a simple mixed drink, the bar provides quality beverages without the inflated prices typical of the area. Overall: For those seeking an authentic dive bar experience in Times Square, Jimmy’s Corner is a must-visit. Its rich history, welcoming atmosphere, and budget-friendly drinks make it a standout choice for both locals and visitors.
Jimmy’s Corner is the real deal — a true Times Square dive bar. It’s small, unpolished, and full of character. Had an awesome time chatting with an Irish carpenter over a couple of pints (only $5 each — absolute steal for Times Square!). The bar seating makes it easy to strike up conversations with actual people, not just tourists. Loved the vibe, will definitely be back. On go there if you like Dive bars !
It's a shame to hear that Jimmy's may be closing its doors soon. Definitely gonna be sorry to see it go. Was introduced to Jimmy's over a year ago. A truly dope ass dive bar with an...eclectic array …

I love the vibe inside with all the pictures and the bartender kept checking in on us. I didn't order any food, but I did get two long islands which felt weak at first, but then snuck up on me.
Great place. Cheep beers and drinks. Crowed some times but Nice and Quick service. Nice clean toilets

I must say this place is popular 😄 by seeing the crowd. Seating place is limited so people stand and drink. They don't offer anything to eat. It's purely drinking 🚰 place. They serve wine 🍷 , beer 🍺🍻 , whiskey etc alcoholic beverages. They also serve cold drinks, soda 🥤, juice 🧃. Parking spots are all paid no street parking spots are available. See pics for more details. Thanks 🙏👍
This is the quintessential dive bar of NYC it was very lively the three nights I went there it is RIDICULOUSLY narrow but the atmosphere is electric the beer is good quality fair and the service is very good. I was entranced by the ‘tab system’ they have both funny and interesting Would be great if they could knock through a wall then it would be four stars Loved Jimmy’s for its fun free and quirky character 😺👍
We stopped by Jimmy’s Corner around 9:30 PM while walking through Midtown Manhattan — and the place was already buzzing with energy. If you’re looking for a classic, no-frills New York bar experience, this is definitely the kind of spot you’ll want to check out — with a few things to keep in mind. 😉 When we arrived, the bar was pretty full, but we managed to grab two seats right at the bar, near the bartender. We ordered a round of beers, and service was quick 🍺✅ The atmosphere? Loud, lively, and a little chaotic — in a good way. People were talking, laughing, drinking, and enjoying the vibe. There was even live music, which added a fun touch and made the place feel very alive 🎶🗣️ 💭 The interior definitely feels stuck in time — and that’s part of its charm, depending on your taste. The decor is old-school, the lighting is dim, and everything has that been-here-forever feel. If you’re into modern, sleek bars, this might not be your scene. But if you’re down for a bit of gritty NYC character — this bar leans into it unapologetically. 🚻 Small note: There’s only one restroom stall for everyone. It’s tiny, and for such a packed place, it felt like not nearly enough. But hey — it’s a small, narrow bar, and space is clearly limited. In short: ✨ A great place for a quick drink and soaking up some vintage New York bar vibes ⚠️ Don’t expect anything fancy — this place is all about the feel, not the finishes 💡 Probably not ideal if you’re looking for a quiet conversation — this one’s all about noise, nostalgia, and night-out energy ⭐️ Overall, I’d give it a solid 3.5 out of 5. It delivers on the atmosphere it promises — just know what you’re walking into. 👉 RECOMMEND 🍻 (Personally mine)
Popped in twice and is cheap but not the cheapest (Mr Biggs wins that hands down 3 dollars for coors light). Only went in twice but first time staff were slightly off with us and we don’t know why,…

Female bartender is rude and abrupt. I am 24 and young looking, walk on and was yelled at for my ID by the bartender immediately. Not asked for, yelled at. Fine- understandable, I look young. I get it checked by the male bartender and he sends me on. I walk 3 feet further and again, the female barber tells me to stop walking and does not ask for my ID, she demands it. Now I understand checking ID’s for young people, but what I do not understand is the demands and abrupt approach. Instead of demanding ID’s and acting as a bouncer, she should consider asking. Lost my business.
The most unwelcoming bar in NY, Only place I have ever visited where I felt embarrassed and upset by the way they spoke to me and my family.
Not good left waiting at the bar, blonde barmaid was serving friends before us and said not to worry about us we could wait, hasten to ad we didn’t wait so rude, went to the Irish bar next door…
I love a good dive bar. I hated this place. The bar was moderately crowded on this Saturday afternoon, but there were a few seats open at the end near the old jukebox. The bar narrowed at this far end and I got the impression the bartender did not want to travel down to my confined space for this reason. The bar was humid and poorly ventilated. Damaged, poorly maintained pictures harkening to the bar’s pugilistic origins adorned the stained walls. The jukebox played on and off, unpredictably, though patrons had loaded it with money. The regulars seem to like this quirky malfunction. There is a $10 minimum for card purchases, though I was ready with cash in hand. The bartender went out of his way to serve other patrons, who had already been drinking, before even acknowledging me. He never did serve me. After 15 pathetic minutes of waiting, as the bartender amassed and then removed empties in front of me, I left to O’Donoghue’s next door. That bar was packed. I was served in under two minutes. If you think that surliness and aloofness are “cool” traits in a bartender, you are wrong. If your bartender shows these traits then it means he sucks at what he does. If you profess to be a dive bar, that does not mean your service should mirror the bar’s dilapidated surroundings in its inattentiveness. Take a look at Rudy’s down the street in Hell’s Kitchen or McSorley’s in the East Village. Those places have been around for ages (and will continue to be) because they provide great, fast, courteous service. Finally, if you take pride in being a “regular” here, I would submit that you made some very questionable life choices to get here. Keep up the bad work. It should hasten your welcome closure.
The Asian bartender was super rude, she was literally talking bad about me and my friends group right in front of us. Stop hiring people with a bad attitude, because at the end of the day we’re all paying for a good service, tipped her a lot of times and still acting like a jerk isn’t right. bad service, we are here to have good time, not to put up with their personal problems. BADDDDDDD
A perfect bar if you enjoy being treated with contempt… as long as you’re a tourist. Ignored, met with annoyed looks, and a service that only exists for the “regulars.” If you’re a tourist, don’t even expect water. The waitstaff seem to genuinely hate their job and the customers. The final touch: we had to leave because we were explicitly told they wouldn’t serve us anymore and that we should go. Blatant discrimination against tourists. Avoid this place.
I had a very disappointing experience at this bar due to the bartender’s behavior. The bartender, a blonde woman with short hair, was extremely rude and disrespectful. She even made inappropriate comments saying that my friends and I don’t know how to speak English properly. Because of her attitude, we decided not to stay at the bar. As we were leaving, she sarcastically waved goodbye to us, which made the situation even more uncomfortable and unprofessional. I usually don’t leave negative reviews, but this level of disrespect toward customers is unacceptable. Customer service and basic respect should be a priority in any establishment. I would give this place zero stars if that were an option.
If i could give this bar 0 stars I would. Right as my friends and I walked in we were greeted by the blonde bartender with a weird haircut and she was so nasty to us words couldn’t even describe it. We were a group of 5 and she stated it was too large of a group. My friends later went in separately got a drink and the bartender continued to be insanely disrespectful to the point other guests were left with their jaw on the floor. She complained about no tip but they had not enough cash and said the rest of us weren’t welcome because of it, even though we would’ve all used our cards to tip. the atmosphere was unbearable and even if there was room for us I wouldn’t step foot in even if I was paid to do so. That nasty individual is setting a terrible impression on what could be a great bar for young folks to go to on a budget. 0/10 experience would not recommend to a single soul. it
Avoid This Place - Rude Staff and Terrible Drinks I don't usually write negative reviews, but my experience at Jimmy's Corner was so bad I feel compelled to warn others. We stopped in for a quick drink and were served by the blonde bartender. The service was appalling from the start. When I simply ordered a margarita, she looked at me with utter contempt and acted as though she had never heard of the drink before. She was extremely rude and condescending, making me feel like an idiot for ordering something that wasn't a can of beer. When the drinks finally arrived (after much eye-rolling), they were horrendous. I'm not even sure what was in them, but it was undrinkable. We left them nearly full on the bar. To top it all off, the entire bar has a pervasive, foul odor that can only be described as smelling like poop. It's a combination of a dirty bathroom and a broken drain. Save your time and money. There are a thousand better bars in the city. We will never be back.
First thing I noticed was that the place smelled so bad and hot but I was willing to dismiss it since we went there to have a good time. It was my last chance to hang out with my best friend before I move to a different city. The service was horrendous the server was extremely rude and passive aggressive. I forgot to tip her for a second while I was paying in cash and she yelled at us for that. I also got confused with my order since I couldn't think of the word for the drink I wanted to order and said different things and she was so sarcastic for my mistake and she made fun of my action to the customers next to us. I was sitting right behind her I could obviously hear her. She is such a hateful person and a bully and she ruined my last night with my friend. We are probably half your age please act like a grown up. Yea so if you want a cheap drink while sitting in a damp hot urine smelling pit with horrendous service go for it
