Was Kunden über Malai Marke sagen
Malai Marke is a solid Indian restaurant with flavorful food and attentive service. The lunch special is a good value. Some find the spice level lacking and some dishes average. The okra dish (bhindi sasuralwali) and garlic naan are highly recommended.

Probably one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been to in Manhattan. They have the best paneer dishes. So much variety unlike other restaurants. We came a bit late but the staff were so accommodating. They are definitely doing things right. Super tasty food, loved it. Good stuff, keep going.
Very solid Indian food! We got lamb seekh kebab (freshly made), rasam soup, vegetable hakka noodles, and chicken korma. Everything was spot on, made to order (we like spicy), and left us feeling like we walked out of a Mumbai restaurant. Server Minhaz was very pleasant and attentive. Also fortunately the restaurant opens earlier than other Indian restaurants in the area (11am).
We were there last night in a group of 12 friends. We had such an amazing time there. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was amazing. We reached right before they were closing but they still accommodated 12 of us and served us with smile and scrumptious food. We had veg and non veg both and everything was good. At the end the chef Bheemsen came out to meet us and we all had a good laugh. Loved this place, I definitely highly recommend this place.
It was SO good. The samosas were my favorite part of the meal, but none of it was bad. Service was great as they were attentive, but didn't bother me and let me eat at my own pace. Server was polite. The lunch special is plenty for one person. Upgrade to the garlic Naan.;)
Hidden Gem of Authentic Indian Cuisine! I had the most delightful experience at Malai Marke restaurant. The food at Malai Marke is an absolute revelation. The aromatic chicken biryani, balti paneer (I asked them to make it spicy) and garlic naan was absolutely what I was looking for since so long and never found in Manhattan. What surprised me the most was the restaurant's underrated status. Malai Marke deserves much more recognition for the exceptional quality they deliver. The chef's dedication to preserving the authenticity of the dishes deserve applause. If you're a fan of real Indian food, don't miss out on Makai Marke. It's not just a meal; it's an experience that will make you fall in love with Indian cuisine all over again. Spread the word and let's give this hidden gem the attention it truly deserves! 🌶️🍛🥘 #MakaiMarke #AuthenticIndianEats 🥗🍽️🌶️
The bhindi sasuralwali (okra) was absolutely delicious and flavorful! On the menu, it is described as “okra you would eat at your in-law’s house,” which I learned from the server, means that it is prepared in a very special way, with extra love and care. What a lovely dish, restaurant and staff!
Sadly the Indian restaurants that once crowded 6th street are disappearing. Don't let an empty restaurant fool you into thinking the food isn't good. I had a wonderful meal here with some friends. The homemade breads, appetizers and meals were outstanding. Everything was fresh and delicious, so order away. The restaurant is large and worth a visit with friends.
Went there on a weekday and did not make any reservations. Menu has a large variety of options to choose from vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes. Tried there paneer roll in naan ( not so good) Vegetable phal ( okayish taste, more like a mixed vegetable curry), paneer tikka masala ( again okayish taste). Spice levels were okay - we ordered spicy and it was like almost 9/10 spicy. Ordered garlic naan ( which was good), tandoori roti (okayish) and lacchha paratha ( it was good). Also, ordered rose lassi (tasted fresh and nice). You can walk to the restro as there is no proper parking and we went there for the dinner.
Delicious spot with wonderful food options and service. The wine was a bit corked but the food was excellent. The portions are very fair. They have a good amount of space for larger groups. They have a ton of options from chicken to lamb to seafood and of course vegetarian. You can’t go wrong.
A good find on Curry Row. Decor is OK and service was professional and friendly. Wide choice of traditional dishes with a few special items available. We tried 2 chicken dishes, lamb and an okra dish. All were very well prepared. Garlic naan was well made. Almost every table was taken at 7pm on a Thursday evening while most of the other Indian restaurants on the block were pretty empty. Noise level was a bit high with so many diners. If your a fan of Indian food give this casual, local place a try. The restaurant name is on the outside awning, easy to miss the narrow store front.
Big menu for vegetarians. We tried their mulligatawny soup and poori which was fantastic, their vegetable biriyani was pretty standard and a curry which wasn't upto the mark. The Madurai Melagu Curry was definitely not authentic, it tasted more like an extremely spicy version of Kadai vegetable which was quite a disappointment. They don't have any good cocktails or fresh drinks.
Worst food ever, I usually order from them but this time it was extremely pathetic. I ordered rose lassi and it was full of water and salty. It seems like the lassi is not anymore sweet. I have to throw them away. Shitty food I can get sick when I tasted such lassy. The people are also rude and when I gave feedback he says their restaurant is top restaurant in New York. Do not guys your stomach will be big time upset
If you’re into eating charcoal with a hint of garlic, Malai Mar K has perfected the recipe. Ordered garlic naan and got a burnt offering from the kitchen gods instead. Crispy? Yes. Edible? Barely. Delicious? Nope. For the price, I expected soft, buttery naan — not something that doubles as roofing material. Won’t be coming back.
