Delicious food! concept of plantains for sandwiches will never be forsaken again. Atmosphere was cozy, staff was nice and worked as quickly as he could even though he was by himself.
Patacon and empanadas are to die for. Don’t forget the house made sauces.
Really love the food here. If you love plantains, then you're gonna love the fact that this sandwiches us plantains as their bread and the inner meat is something you'll be familiar with if you love Latin food. It's good for a normal meal, but imagine the food when you're drunk with all the amazing sauces.
Such good food. Lots of flavor. Good price. Friendly staff. I don't think there's a bathroom. Conveniently located near lots of bars and lounges so it's perfect food on a night out. Delicious sauces to go your order. Wide array on the menu of choices, even vegetarian. Not a long wait for food. Cash or card. Ranges from $7-$11. Worth it!
Love this place! It's the original location with amazing platacon sandwiches! The plantains are fried fresh and the grilled chicken with it is tender and juicy. If you have a big appetite or don't mind sharing with a friend this place is great. It's a big tight if you're coming with a group but worth a stop if you're in the area.
The food was very good and it was super convenient to find something around midnight while driving. Now onto the food, it's very filling and they were not cheap in the amount of meat they put in. I wouldn't mind coming back again.
I literally never leave reviews ever but I just need to let everyone know how good this food is. I go here once a week during my lunch break and every time it is the best part of my day. The food is so fresh and delicious and they give you amazing portions for the price! There are so many vegetarian options and I’ve loved everything I’ve gotten here. The staff is so friendly and pickup is always so quick and easy. I love you Patacon Pisao!!!!
Amazing service, the food was on point, fast, the vibe take is back to Colombia in a very nice location, love that fact that they have the “quick order” screen so you don’t have to wait when is crowded. I’m definitely coming back and recommend to everyone who was a delicious taste food!
It is a small inexpensive place, loved the food, it was delicious and the service was great.
John was amazing! Delicious arepas, tequeños and sauces! Amazing service and great food
Thank you luis very good food and I will come again
So good went here after some drinks with a friend. Everything was so fresh. Staff was super sweet. The options we got were delicious! Make sure to get extra sauce you won’t regret it.
The service was wonderful and the food divine.
Visiting from Houston, we were surprised but the fact the restaurant was close to our hotel, and we were looking to dine in this restaurants months ago. Service super friendly and very warming, excellent food and very Venezuelan ambiance. My mom, my friend and I had 3 patacones, it feels like we were eating in Venezuela. Good job guys!
i was literally speechless at how amazing this place was. my dinner was bigger than my head and so delicious i couldn’t believe it. the sauces they have available are also sooooo good. it’s so easy to customize your meal too so if you get overwhelmed by all the insanely yummy options you can make your own perfect dish! i cant wait to come back!!
This place creates that familiar comfort we all seek. People at Patacon Pisao create fun through their kind service. Friendly workers and tasty meals come in large servings without high prices. Great flavors and surprising menu selections. The team here demonstrates great skill.
This place has amazing, well-priced food! My friend and I split a patacon (plantain) sandwich with grilled chicken and yuca fries, and it was not only delicious in every aspect (sandwich, fries, and all of the sauces that came with them were great) but the staff was really friendly when we picked up, which is always a big plus. They even cut our sandwich in half so that we could share more easily, which was really appreciated! I will absolutely be back for more (hopefully) soon!
I LOVE THIS PLACE! I need to come back and try everything. The paballon was amazing and their sauces make it even better
Really good Tequenos and really good sauces, Good service as well, will highly recommend to freinds and family!
Went with friends and shared two orders of tequenos.. they were amazing! For venezuelans, they’re more in between tequeños and tequeñones since they’re bigger than an average tequeño. The cheese is soft and goey and tastes just like home. They serve three complimentary salsas: pink sauce, green sauce and a spicy one that pair perfectly. Will come back for the patacones because they looked amazing, affordable and big. IG: @tutieats
First discovered the Queens location over 10 years ago, remember this location’s opening like it was yesterday. Kind of small, only 3 small tables and a couple seats outside... def smart to plan ahead during busy hours. Takeout worked well for me. The pabellon Patacon is my favorite because I’m obsessed with plantains - you get sweet plantains, fried cheese, black beans and shredded pork sandwiched between 2 giant tostones. Prices went up a bit over the years but their portions have certainly remained consistent. In fact, my Patacon was so big I actually savored it over 3 meals. Good vibes and music playing
Great food and great service from John highly recommend
What a great find, such a hidden gem. We had one of everything and were not left disappointed by any means. The authenticity speaks for its self, so flavourful words can not describe, it was a party in my mouth From one foodie to another, this place is one of a kind, It would be rude no to stop by 🤤
Food had no business being this good. We literally chose menu items at random and were not disappointed. I will be back. UPDATE: 11/29/24 arrive with friends prior to closing and got the driest plantains I have ever tried to consume. Staff told us seating inside was not allowed though there was a white woman sitting inside and eating. Not sure what happened but let's hope the ladies that served me the first few times are present on my next visit.
Genuinely excellent! The way they've set up and maintained the place is impressive. This place offers fresh, high-quality meals without breaking the bank. The employees offer exceptional assistance. No room for argument.
tried their pabellon patacon and it was delicious. I’ve never had a sandwich with plantain instead of bread but it exceeded all expectations. it’s smashed and firm enough to hold (it doesn’t fall apart at all) and acts as a perfect base to hold everything. If anything I think it’s even more perfect than bread as it feels more starchy and filling. all the filling was perfect too. and the sauce! all delicious. my favorite was the red/pink one. I will definitely return!
Fantastic place. Saw their add on instagram and said I must go there to try their food as I love plantains and it didn’t disappoint. I’d definitely recommend you to come here and get it really spicy!! And their sauces on the side are amazing!!! Great service
This place always has good food and flavors, great customer service from staff, also their salsa verde (Garlic Mayo) is the best
First time trying a Patacon Pabellon and it sure is a one of kind food, the salsa rosada is so good with that Chipotle kick, will definitely recommend to friend and family
Look, I grew up in this neighborhood. This is no time to disparage a Latino business. The way these algorithms are ripping us apart…I walked in here, politely for an online pickup. 10 plus years of enjoying this place, the guy behind the counter acted in such a way that I would’ve walked away from the food just to not consume his bad energy. If the policy to cancel the order would’ve allowed I would’ve done this. Everyone has terrible days and maybe it’s the case here. Either way, the horrid almost angry vibe put forward will keep me from here, do with that what you will. ✨
I’ve visited this place a few times with my friends, and we absolutely love it. The food is delicious, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful.
I want there and I ordered Patacon paisa🤩it was delicious and big!!! Juano was the best, his service and his way to make you feel confident is so good, the prices are so good. I definitely gonna come back 🤩
QUE FANTASTICO WOW !!!!! The staff is so kind, food AMAZING, sitting area is vibes. 10/10 no notes HIT THE SPOT SO GOOD. Crispy patacon with SOFT MADUROS INSIDE + avocado + beans + tomato + lettuce + delicious sauce - it is the dream of a vegetarian venezolana!!!
I regret not trying this spot much earlier. Their dishes satisfy completely and their staff always helps. You'll love what they cook. The workers showed remarkable service commitment. This spot has me ready to come back.
I catch myself bringing up this restaurant without prompting. This restaurant reveals what others miss entirely. There was enough to split between plates. Restaurant workers show particular warmth. This spot exceeded my expectations and I'll return.
Take the opportunity to visit when you can. The place shows good hygiene and the owners are sweet, responsive and straightforward. The employees were impressive, incredibly watchful and likable. Each dish tastes distinct, servers know the menu, and quality ingredients appear in every bite. I would return to this restaurant when around.
Patacon (Smashed Plantain Sandwich) - A sandwich that is made using patacones, which are flattened and fried green plantains used as bread or buns I got the Paisa Patacon, stuffed with grilled steak, grilled chorizo, fresh slices of avocado, sunny side up egg, ketchup, and salsa verde, $15.25 If the item description wasn’t convincing enough, this was freakingggg delicious. Apparently you can choose the type of plantain for the sandwich, either a green plantain that’s a little harder or a sweet plantain that’s softer. I wish I knew that before ordering because I definitely would’ve gone with the sweet plantain. But the fault’s on the cashier, who both didn’t tell me and also just gave me the green one by default, even though he admitted after the fact that most people order the sweet version. Also, they serve the patacon with three bottles of sauce on the side.
I was craving cachapas and a friend recommended this place. Food was great, we ordered tequeños, cachapa and I forgot the name of the other plate, but it had fried yucca, meat and fried cheese. It was delicious. Service was a 10/10 they were amazing and we talked a bit about everything while waiting. Place was tiny, I honestly recommend doing take out, as most people do. We were the only ones there, but it was still quite small with 3 bistro tables with not so comfy stools. Great place though!
Such a great find! I came across this place walking home and saw someone waking out asked if this place was good. He said “absolutely, just go in and order!” So I did just that! Gotta say I was thrilled to find my tastebuds screaming in joy to what I was eating! So good. Will be returning!!
In short, loved the experience. Great Venezuelan vibe and street food for happy drunks. With a few more details, The store is a bit small so come off hours if you’d like to sit. The vibe is nice. Great music. Was very clean and staff was very friendly. The service took a minute but when I got it I understood why. Patacon was so hot and so fresh. I got the Patacon Pabellon. Was soo bomb. Plantain sandwiches should be more popular.
Food was good, I liked their rendition of the Cubano in a burrito form. It was pretty big and filling. Flavors were great and the 3 different types of sauces to pick from made each bite different. It's a small place but it's cozy.
Good food. A bit too rich. Portions were massive which is always great. 17 per cachapa Person working was nice but kinda told us what to eat and didn't make the food exactly how we wanted. It was still delightful.
4.5 / 5!! So glad we were able to try this spot while on holiday. Order (1) Pollo and (1) Vegetarian PLANTAIN BURGER, both were excellent with the mix of flavors and textures. Prices were also good for the value of food and location. They have 3 small bistro tables to sit at and we were able to sit after we ordered our food. Seems like people mostly do take-out as it is a small setting. Would come back and recommend to others.
This place was empty when we got there on a Saturday night, which was a bummer, because the food was good so I hope they stick around! There were only 3-4 tables to sit at so I thought it was pretty weird that the only way to order was through a big touch screen. That aside, our sandwiches were great, a little dry after you ate through all the fillings but they do give you three sauces to help out with that - none of which were very spicy. Service was just fine, but I would still come back. Honestly would prefer to take it to go next time since it's a pretty messy meal.
Overall a great spot. The yuca fries were my favorite. They’re perfectly crispy and the pickled onions are a great palette cleanser. I prefer the plantain over the crunch wrap. I didn’t love the chorizo - it’s more of a sausage than the crumbly spicy chorizo I expected. Love love the sauces the food comes with. I would definitely come again 8/10.
Dont order online. The cheese empanada was good
Unfortunately, the food just wasn't good. The people who worked there were very nice but the meat and arepas didn't have flavor. If you're going to try it, I think you have to eat it there because taking it home made everything soggy (which is to be expected) and definitely worse. It's a cool idea but as someone who has eaten many tostones and arepas, I wouldn't recommend.
The place is rather small and tight. The staff was a little disrespectful and moody when I asked a question so they definitely lost stars with me on that. However, the food is very good. Sauces were amazing with a rich combination of flavors in every dish. It was hard to choose what I wanted to eat because the prices are amazing and the options are even better. Still don't understand why they have credit card stickers and a cash only sign on the door if they don't take credit cards on weekends. That was a little confusing but there are several atm's close by. Going back for sure.
Place does not accept cash or take orders manually you have to do your order by phone. Ordered food and by the time I received my food everything was hard and cold. Not sure if they use fresh ingredients but I had to heat everything up. I could not save the plantain sandwich buns they prepared it was hard like a rock. Yuca fries were soggy. When sitting in the restaurant you have to climb stairs so it is not handicap accessible and they had the front window wide open letting in bugs and the heat from outside in to their kitchen. Tried the passion fruit juice which was super sour. Not likely to go back, the only plus was the flavor of the meat and the sweet plantains.
I've eaten here several times over the last year and was disappointed to find that the quality has gone down noticeably. There was hardly any filling in the carne asada patacon I ordered, plus the plantains were extremely dry. I was directed towards a kiosk to order which cost 2 additional dollars on top of the $15 sad sandwich. I won't be returning as the value has seriously diminished from what it used to be.
The server/cook was courteous and friendly. However, the food was just ok. They are ridiculously expensive. I will never return.
While, the food is great, I will no longer be eating here. Every time I have placed an order there has been an issue with the staff stating that the order does not come through at the time it’s placed from the website. I have attempted to mitigate this by calling the restaurant and confirming they’ve received my order ahead of time. Somehow, they still aren’t able to have it completed when I arrive at the restaurant. When traveling to pick up food, it is incredibly frustrating to arrive only to be told. It will be another 15 minutes because the staff did didn’t receive the order.
First time having it and it was pure disappointment. we ordered two Cuban patacón n one blt on 6/22/2022 around 3pm… my whole family complained, plantain was supper saggy n greasy, too much white sauce all over, made us feel like the cook hate his job, we got this order on low hours meaning he had plenty of time to do a decent job but he still gave us a mediocre order full of oil. Never again!!
My food was burnt. My friend and I were the only ones in the spot. Cook was not busy at all. I have no idea how he happened to burn both my items. First experience and not coming back.
I ordered the arepa paisa and bit down into a metal staple that was lodged into my gums. I called the restaurant to let them know about what happened and they did not believe me. I will be getting arepas from Colombian restaurants moving forward.
Ordered 3 chicken empanadas to go to consume on the go. The centers were cold. Definitely not fully cooked. Could not stomach to eat more for my safety. If they can’t fry empanadas and I the correct temperature I don’t know why you’d go here.
I bought pastelitos with shredded meat but they make them with mashed potatoes and the whole filling was mashed potatoes with a few pieces of meat and the flavor was very blend. They have just one person to answer the phone, place the order and prepare the food to go. I spent more that 25 min waiting for 3 pastelitos. Many people waiting . Not good.
I wish I could put 0 stars 😔 Extremely disappointed in the food and service (I can understand that the cashier was in a bad mood tho, considering they don't have air conditioning at 85°). Honestly the worst Cachapa I've ever eaten. For $40 I would have eaten in a much better place and with a better service (I am aware it is basically a retail place) but I decided to give it a try. The tequeños were lame. Sauces without flavor. Passion fruit juice was more sugar than anything else. Very sad the experience knowing that I am Venezuelan.
Terrible customer service. I don't recommend eating inside.
I odered yesterday from this restaurant 2 Paisa Patacon to be delivered, the presentation and the amount of food was good but the quality was horrible, the outside plantain along with the beef and ham was so very hard and dried( impossible to be chewed) no taste It was looking like the food was old and overcook. Just half of one of them could be eaten and them we give up( afraid to loose a tooth) It was my first and last time to odering from them maybe they have better dishes but I'm not going to found out.
The Arepa was a disaster. The meat was barely there, the beans were salty. The empanadas were from Colombia, not Venezuela. And they were burned. The tequeños were burned. The only good thing was the juice of passion fruit /parchita. I order via Uber Eat, and I can't say anything about their service or atmosphere. The difference between Venezuela empanadas en Colombia (no potatoes with meat ) and the masa is sweet. When you put potatoes it helps you reduce the meat cost because you barely put meat. The empanadas were more potatoes than meat. I hope that answer your question.
It’s completely disappointing they don’t have culture of what a Venezuelan badge is like I don’t recommend it it doesn’t taste like cachapa it’s not good it damages the image of the Venezuelan badges I give it a 0 out of 10 not recommended 🙂 The chapa brings cheese included normally here they charge you separately and they don’t even add it to you they should put bourgeois chapas because instead of cachapa it looks like a hamburger with so many vegetables I don’t recommend it it doesn’t have cachapa flavor
The worst place to eat Venezuelan food—completely inauthentic. The atmosphere was nonexistent, and the space was very uncomfortable. The staff was incredibly rude; he even had headphones on while taking our order and was very short with us. This place does not represent Venezuela in any way. The tequeños were frozen, as was most of the food, and everything lacked freshness. The arepas were also frozen and reheated. The only redeeming quality was that they had Frescolita and Malta.
