Mi amigos! This place is awesome. Went to La Contenta first but they were packed but luckily Vallarta had some spots at the bar and everything was incredible. Tacos pescado and Tacos carne asada! Woo. I preferred the carne asada but both made me feel like I was back in mexico. All the micheladas and cocktails we had were incredible. The happy hour too is off the chain. Great prices and great service. I can’t wait to go back and try more. The nachos were also muy rico. Gracias Vallarta! They also take blackbird (IYKYK and if you don’t know, ask me and i’ll get you a free promo :))

Ive been going to Vallartas sister restaurant la Contenta for years but so glad that they expanded and made a seafood restaurant. Rafa is a phenomenal chef, the ceviche/ aguachille is to die for! Dont even have to mention the amazing bartenders who make delicious drinks every single time, they never miss! Rigoberto the manager is a charming man who is there to cater to all your needs! So happy for the contenta family and Vallarta being a great addition! Salud!

The food is absolutely delicious here - I’d say almost unexpectedly good. Didn’t take photos because I just ate through it too fast. We came in later in the day after a friend’s birthday gathering just to grab a few drinks and hang out - we ordered some of the food they had on the menu - delicious. Highly recommend and am definitely coming back just to eat. Tacos de carne asada - some of the best carne asada I’ve had, the tostado de ceviche a yum, and the torta ahogada - I’ve never had one before but it was delicious , apparently people barely order it because of the spice level but I found it delicious - not too spicy definitely well balanced in flavor

From the team of La Contena LES, I wanted to check out their new space right next door Vallarta Tropical. I didn't know what to expect but quickly realized what was going on. I love the infusion of Mexican spirits with a Tropical sensibility. Alex the Agave master and owner is always so hospitable and gracious with every guest in the space. Making sure cocktails are made to perfection and creating bespoke drinks for folks to try. You can't go wrong with Fish tacos along with the aguachile and ceviche. The food is on par with the cocktail program. You will not be disappointed.

Great new spot! I tried their michelada and it was awesome. I also tried their agave spirits, mezcal, tequila, sotol, bacanora they have it all. Staff is amazing, great customer service. I got there late but they were nice enough to grab a night cap, I’ll return soon to try their seafood soon.

The food is hit or miss. The service is extremely slow, we waited 40 minutes for some guacamole. The tables are tilted and wobbly. Would not recommend this or the sister place next door La Contenta.

We were excited to try this restaurant based on the positive Google reviews. My boyfriend specifically chose it because he had an expiring InKind promo and saw the restaurant accepted InKind payments. When we arrived for our Vallarta Tropical reservation, the hostess informed us there was a roof leak near our assigned table and suggested we sit on the other side of the restaurant instead. We agreed to the move. The issue arose at payment. We couldn’t locate our table in the InKind app, and our server explained that only one side of the restaurant accepts InKind while the other uses Blackbird. She mentioned the possibility of voiding and re-ticketing our bill on the InKind side and said she’d ask the manager, but came back and said no. This was frustrating because: (1) we were never informed the two sides operated as separate restaurants despite identical menus, (2) we were moved to the non-InKind side at the hostess’s suggestion, not by our choice, and (3) the one payment method we came prepared to use was suddenly unavailable due to their seating decision. We left disappointed, having paid out of pocket when we’d specifically planned to use our expiring promo. I hope this restaurant considers communicating this seating/payment distinction to future guests to avoid similar confusion.
