Cozy front bar but there are tables in the back for pairs or small groups. We had great orange wine here. Also the lava cake was so so good
Really cool wine bar in NYC. All organic wines with really interesting flavor profiles. We had a bottle of orange wine with a low funk and a bottle of red wine with a higher funk level. They were both super interesting and fun to drink. The bartenders were super knowledgeable and gave us great recommendations!
This place is a fantastic wine bar! 🍷 Skin Contact serves wonderful selection of unique wines 🍾 including skin-contact wine a.k.a "Orange 🟠 Wine" (white wine where the grapes 🍇 are fermented with the skins on and is not removed). Definitely try their LAG wine! Staff 👨🍳 is super professional and friendly, service is quick ⏲️, ambience 🎶 is great, and the place is nicely decorated. 🛋️ I wish I heard about this place sooner!
Been here twice and both times were very pleasant. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is cozy. I’ll definitely come back to this bar next time I’m in LES. Like the wine selection too. Good vibes good wines
Favorite Wine Bar in the city! Have been 5 times over the past year. Every time the team is so knowledgeable and kind. If you’re interested in skin contact/orange wines this is a great place to start. The food selection is awesome - the layered potato is a must get. If I’m going with a friend we each order our own.
Beautiful natural wine bar with the best vibes, 0 pretension, simple and delicious food to pair the wines with, knowledgeable staff, you can’t really get much more than this!! A total must if you love natural wine with nice not stuffy energy.
Refreshingly unexpected organic wine selection and no-frills, down-to-earth staff. I always appreciate their ability to maintain an element of surprise with their selection and their small bites are just as delightful!! Some heavenly pairings on this menu. If you're looking for a regular, local spot to kick back, relax, enjoy good conversation and/or some top-notch people-watching on vibrant Orchard Street, AND want to support small biz, you've stumbled into the right place. The owners treat their regulars like family, and if you come around often enough, you know that they pour their blood, sweat, and tears into this place. SC is a place for the people!
Skin Contact is hands down my favorite wine bar in the city. They specialize in natural wines which really differentiates them from the crowd. Everyone, and especially Stefanie, is super welcoming, sweet, and knowledgeable about wines. No matter if you're a wine novice or connoisseur, the staff will be able to pick something that fits your palate. We came on a Sunday and it was bustling but not full. There is bar counter, table, and outdoor seating. The ambiance would make for a great date or catch up spot. There were plenty of regulars which really attests to how great of a wine bar this is. They get pretty busy Friday and Saturday, so I would definitely come early or make a reservation on Resy! Overall, would 100% recommend that you come check this place out before they become more well-known and hard to reserve! It's a wonderful local business and a great addition to LES.
Beautiful atmosphere and knowledgeable staff who know what they’re doing. Whether you’re a natty newbie or a well-acquainted wine-o, there’s something for everyone. Also, their private, natural wine tastings make for a fun, informative session with generous pours in a perfectly intimate setting.
Lovely and thoughtful new wine bar, just a skip hop away from the legendary Ten Bells. The folks at siin contact have an epic list, deep knowledge of natural wine, and a few tasty snacks on the food list to ensure you don't go hungry. We had a great time. Will be back often.
A wonderfully moody escape from the hustle and bustle of the Lower East Side. As soon as you walk through their unique red door, you're transported to a dimly lit dream - where it feels like anything is possible. Where it feels like you could meet someone that might just change your life. That's the magic appeal of a wine bar - and one as curated, special, and unique as Skin Contact will not disappoint. The staff were friendly and provided excellent recommendations based on our personal preferences. We ended up trying seven different kinds of wine, and each one had its own excellent flavour profile. Kudos to the sommeliers and wine selectors. I loved this hidden gem and would love to come back on my next trip to NYC. Do yourself a favour and don't miss out on this wine haven.
Like a brief escape to Europe, but infused with the unmistakable charm of the Lower East Side. Skin Contact is the perfect stop along the car-free stretch of Orchard Street. The service was impeccable — Keira guided us with ease and expertise to the perfect glass from their beautifully curated wine list. With alllll the professionalism, sass and absolute attention to detail. There’s something about a soft breeze on a July Sunday in New York, sipping Vitovska on the sidewalk at Skin Contact, that makes it all feel a little more bearable — maybe even hopeful. Thanks, Keira. We’ll be back.
We’re came here quite often, ambiance & vibes is definitely key. Everyone seem know what their doing. If you wine snobs and wanna host your friends, bring ‘em in.

Fab spot, great wine, warm service. Moody, interior lit nicely provided a sweet backdrop for a lovely, quiet Tuesday evening drink. Nice date spot amongst great restaurants
This place was awesome. The server really knew her wine list, what each wine tasted like, what to look for, and what to pair it with. Our group had a really enjoyable time there.

By far one of the nicest bars I’ve been to. I found the selection of natural wines to be very extensive, not to mention how good it tastes as well. Service from the staff was amazing too. The intimate vibe made it a really enjoyable evening for us. Will definitely be back! Keep up the good work skin contact !
A great place for a glass of natural wine. Staffs are friendly. The bar is on the smaller side, so prepared to wait on weekends. The bar is dark and romantic with exposed brick. But since it gets loud inside when it’s crowded, probably avoid on first dates? Actually, forget about dates. Just go and a beautiful bottle of white with friends. BTG ranges from $14-20. They have a patio on sidewalk for those who prefer outdoor seating
Cute little spot with a good selection of natural/biodynamic wines, an intimate ambience, and helpful staff. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, indoor is cozy (not in a bad way), there’s also another room in the back; the outdoor seating is plentiful for such a small space. We had a short visit prior to dinner and didn’t dabble much into the food menu outside of pickles from “The Pickle Guys”. The wines we selected were 50/50: the Slovenian Malvasia was bright, complex, refreshing; the Australian Verdelho was overly bitter, pungent in a fermented kombucha way, and tasted tired—interesting enough to keep to see how it would open up as time progressed, wouldn’t order again. Ambience, selection, and staff are enough to warrant another visit.

Staff were a bit stand off ish and not welcoming or attentive. To be fair it looked like just one person while it was quite busy. Otherwise no complaints about the wine list. Sitting outside was amazing vibes especially when it’s sunny.

I was sitting outside at this bar with my son, who was quietly doing his homework. There were nine completely empty tables, they were closed and I clearly stated we would be leaving in 15 to 20 minutes. A man with two hoop earrings — not sure if he was the bartender, manager, or owner — came over and asked us to leave with aggression, despite the fact that no one else was using the space. I have no comment on the food or drinks because we didn’t come to order. But if this is how they treat people who live nearby and have been here before, it’s not just bad customer service — it’s senseless. He wasn’t even working, he was hanging out.

i actually love their wine list… but unfortunately they’ve been accidentally charging people the price of a wine bottle instead of their glasses. two glasses of wine costed $70, we did catch it in time. Ironically, we overheard another patron come in while we were there complaining about getting charged $80 for 2 glasses of wine. If you come here, don’t get too drunk u forget to check ur bill!
