SOTE Coffee Roasters in NYC was an incredible experience from start to finish — the space felt intentional, calm, and genuinely crafted for people who love great coffee. The barista took time to walk me through their espresso options, and I ended up grabbing a bag of beans that pulled beautifully with rich crema and a smooth, balanced finish. If you care about quality roasting and thoughtful hospitality, SOTE absolutely delivers.
Highly recommend for coffee lovers in UWS ☕ This coffee shop has such a lovely atmosphere — it’s small, cozy, and super welcoming. You can smell the coffee from the moment you walk in. The drinks taste great, nicely bold and perfectly balanced — exactly my kind of coffee. The owner and staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel comfortable right away. It’s a perfect spot whether you want a quick grab & go or to sit and chill with friends 🤍 Best part… it’s dog-friendly too! 🐶✨ Love this place so much.
Incredibly cozy atmosphere, great music, friendly baristas and absolutely delicious, perfectly pulled espresso. If you're in the UWS or having a day at Central Park, this is the espresso bar to stop at! (Also very dog friendly which is a major plus!)
Lemon loaf and season drink- maple cinnamon latte. Name itself sounds yum. Lemon loaf was really good. Great subtle taste of lemon and not too sweet. Size of loaf is large so definitely saving the rest for later. Price is descent less than $20. The drink was also great. Not overly sweet. You can taste the cinnamon - not overpowering yay. Nice layer of foam on top. This really hit the spot today as it’s so cold out. I feel like this is comforting. Great place to start my morning.
Great ambiance! It’s a cozy shop with small tables for seating. I was lucky enough to grab a table and spend some time here. There’s free WiFi which is a plus, but not too many outlets. I ordered their gingerbread latte which was a special. I thought it was perfectly sweet and delicious. It was the perfect drink for a cold January afternoon. This is a great spot for a quick coffee or to stay a while and get work done, as long as your devices are charged up. Workers are really friendly and my drink was made quickly.
A very cozy, welcoming spot with a genuinely homey feel. Small tables, comfortable chairs, and even a little couch that makes you want to stay longer than planned. The coffee is done properly, smooth and well balanced, and the pastries are fresh and delicious. The service is genuinely friendly and attentive without hovering, which is rarer than it should be. This place feels personal and relaxed, like a neighborhood café that actually cares. Easy five stars.
Sote Coffee Roasters is an awesome spot for high-quality coffee. The brews are smooth, rich, and full of flavor — you can really taste the care they put into roasting. Great desserts options from home made cakes and cookies. The atmosphere is cozy and modern, with good space to relax or work. Staff are welcoming and knowledgeable, always happy to recommend something new to try. Definitely one of my favorite coffee stops for both great drinks and great vibes!
Petite, upper west side neighborhood cafe that provides an easy walk to/from Central Park. Things you should know: I. SERVICE They provide a small drink and pastry menu, along with a self-service water station. There's a unisex restroom for customers. Service is efficient and timely. II. QUALITY Nothing stood out as outstanding about the food or drink, but the cold brew and latte give you the boost you need. The ambience here is homey and relaxing. III. CAPACITY Seating is slim. We came on a late weekday morning and only 2 seats were available at the time.
I’m pretty particular and critical about my cappuccinos, I have only good things to say about Sote. I was very impressed with the espresso machine. It looked like state of the art. There was no seating room inside we ended up seating outside and getting the vibe of NYC. Lovely place… I’ll be back!
Best coffee ever! Their iced lattes are what I look forward to every time I'm in the area. I have made a trip down to the UWS just to get a coffee. The owners are the kindest people around and the ambiance is 10/10. I couldn't recommend it enough. As an added bonus, they have delicious pastries that pair beautifully with their coffee. Special shout out to their fig bars!
I absolutely love Sote Coffee Roasters! This small, artisan coffee shop at 329 Amsterdam Ave is the perfect neighborhood hideaway — inviting, warm, and just the right size for grabbing a coffee or spending some time working or reading . The coffee is truly outstanding — from expertly pulled cappuccinos to latte art that shows real care. Their house espresso blend delivers bright notes of red apple, caramel, blackberry, baking spices, and even pear — with a rich, syrupy mouthfeel that makes milk drinks particularly wonderful . What really sets Sote apart is the genuine hospitality of the owners, Besa and Arber. They’ve created a welcoming “third place” on the UWS where you immediately feel part of the community. Their passion for quality coffee and connection shines through in every visit . Despite being cozy and sometimes busy, there’s enough seating to feel at ease — perfect for relaxing or catching up on work. Even during peak times, the vibe remains calm and friendly . ✅ Highlights: Exceptional coffee, roasted in‑house with great attention to sourcing and freshness Espresso and milk drinks that bring deep flavors and smooth texture Lovely small space, thoughtfully designed for comfort and connection Owners who are warm, kind, and engaging — you’ll feel welcomed every time
Sote Coffee Roasters offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere, with plenty of plants and artwork that make the space feel both stylish and relaxed. I had the iced lavender latte—it was flavorful, smooth, and just the right amount of sweet. A great place to unwind with a good drink and enjoy the calm, creative vibe.
Popped into Sote Coffee on a Monday and really enjoyed the experience. The spot is small but cozy—definitely a nice place to chill or get some work done if you grab a seat. It’s quiet, clean, and has a good vibe for focus. I ordered a cappuccino and my friend got a cortado. Both were clearly made with care—you can tell the baristas here know their coffee. The quality was definitely there, with smooth texture and rich flavor. It’s always refreshing to find a spot where the coffee is more than just average. Service was quick, which is always appreciated, especially on a busy weekday. The cashier had a bit of a resting Monday face—but honestly, who doesn’t? It didn’t take away from the overall good experience. Would definitely return—solid coffee, nice atmosphere, and a great low-key spot to start the day or get some work done.
Sote Coffee Roasters is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The coffee is exceptional—rich, smooth, and expertly roasted to perfection. You can truly taste the quality and passion that goes into every cup. Owners Arber and Besa are friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to recommend a brew based on your preferences. Whether you’re grabbing a quick espresso or lingering over a pour-over, the experience is top-notch. The design is also a refreshingly different take and feels more like someone’s home in rural Europe.
After checking online where to get the specialty coffee fix, Sote coffee roasters came first so no other choice to give it a go and no disappointment. I’ve had a cappuccino oat milk at first with a chocolate croissant and because it felt great been there I went for a latte oat milk.
4.5 stars. I think I must have walked by this coffee shop several times in the past couple of months before I finally realized it was there. The front is quite unassuming, and it doesn’t help that it’s almost hidden by all the scaffolding on the street. It was a nice surprise going inside, and seeing how lovely and inviting the interior was. The plants, small wooden café tables, leather sofa and various framed pictures gave the shop a cozy, laid back vibe. It’s no wonder that there were many patrons there during my visit. They have a small menu of specialty coffee and a small selection of pastries. I ordered Banana Bread ($5.50), Carrot Cake ($5), Blueberry Scone ($5) and an Americano ($4) to go. The coffee was full bodied and smooth. Exactly what a needed on that cold day while waiting for the bus. Both the Banana Bread and Carrot Cake were good, but I really enjoyed the Blueberry Scone. It was dense but light and had a nice crispy crust. Prices are also quite reasonable IMO. It’s really nice to see small, independently owned coffee shops like this one instead of more Starbucks. And I hope more people support this great little neighborhood coffee shop.
Very good coffee. Rich, not bitter. I had drip with half and half. Price was not bad either, $3 and change for a small. They offer speciality drinks, assorted pastries and cookies. Pleasant space, almost living-room like. Good amount of seating for a small space. One negative: loud music, unfortunately
