My fiancé and I grabbed brunch here on a Sunday afternoon and had an incredible time. The hostess was incredibly kind. She re-folded my napkin for me when I went to use the restroom, and the owner was behind the bar serving us drinks while checking in on how we liked the food and the beverages. The chicken and waffles are amazing, and there's a drink special where if you order a brunch entree, you can have three drinks (I believe beer, mimosas, or a bloody mary) all for $10. Would highly recommend stopping by!
My sister gave me the best October fall fest weekend and we ended up here on my last day in the city! I absolutely adored the atmosphere, the people, the drinks, the food, the service, etc. Joey is the best and I’ll definitely be coming back. Might even ask for a job to stay tied to this place:)
Had a great time here. Joey, the owner, made us (two tourists from London, England) really welcome. We only wanted a drink but he made sure we had good seats at the bar and then gave help with the drinks menu. I wanted a cocktail and he recommended one which was expertly executed by the bartender.. absolutely gorgeous. Even as we were leaving and taking a pic outside, Joey came out to thank us for stopping in. We'd definitely recommend this place for a drink and had we had time would have eaten here too. Hopefully next time....
Fantastic ambience, excellent service and fantastic food. The cocktails were creative and the food was very fresh! Talk about farm to table, everything is locally sourced and the chef really puts in a lot of effort into the food that goes on your plate! Great place to stop by after work or even for a great dinner!
I enjoyed this restaurant very much! The food was very delicious, especially the Biggie biscuit and gravy for the Throwback Brunch on the weekends. The staff is very nice and friendly, the chefs are efficient and quick. I'm going back during the week to sample more of their varieties of dishes! Keep up the incredible work you all are doing!😊
Decided to give this place a shot !! It’s been the talk of town on Instagram. Stopped by on Sunday afternoon , and rest was an experience. Walked through the door and I really felt like I was in a cabin back in Poconos !! The decor gives it the cozy feel !! From the bears to the trees , it had an amazing vibe. I was greeted and seated right away !! There was a live DJ playing the best classic, it’s was just a great vibe in there . They had a brunch menu going on , and sounded dope ! We went through with it and ordered couple different dishes from it . One thing I noticed was that the menu was printed on old records !! That was pretty cool to me !! I pick up on small details. Food was really really good , and priced pretty well. If I could remember there were like 8 to 9 items on the menu. It’s was nice and small !! Something for everyone !! We tried like 5 out of the 9 dishes !! I must say all were great. I would just recommend a little bigger portion size just a little . Drinks we decided to order separate rather than the usual brunch ones . I heard there Spicy Margarita was really good and it actually lived up to it !! It Really was GOOD and worth every penny . Bartender even made a Virgin drink for my non-alcoholic friend , it was surprise one and tasted amazing . Overall I loved it and it a MUST SPOT TO CHECK OUT Ambiance- 10/10 Food- 9/10 Service - 10/10 Happy Hour - Not Sure Brunch - Yes WiFi- Not Sure Entertainment- Yes live DJ Parking- Street
I’d never heard of this place before, but after going once I know I HAVE to go back! The atmosphere is the first thing that entices you into the space. They have to is really cool artificial tree in the center that apparently changes with the seasons? They also had lots of cool decor to do with nature and cabin-esque style. The drinks were also good, strong, and cheap! They had a $10 for 3 drinks special and the drinks were so yummy! The food was also delicious! I had a BLT and it was truly so scrumptious!
Great spot for brunch. Outstanding cocktails and the burger and chicken were awesome. Staff was very friendly and wanted to be there even though brunch service is always the hardest.
it is very rare to find a restaurant that is hospitable and ran by genuinely good people. Both John and Joey were such incredible individuals. They made my large party feel welcomed and never pressured us to leave quickly. We had wonderful conversations and I truly respect and cherish them both as individuals. Thank you for a wonderful time, everyone! I will certainly come back again, cheers!
Great brunch! What a delicious and fun time. We had a party of 10... Even if you are 2, make reservations. They filled right up and for good reason..fresh made delicious food and 3 morning cocktails for $10. Awesome! Who doesn't want 3 mimosas? We loved it. I had the avocado toast and it was perfection!
Service was good, they kind of ran out of what I wanted on the menu but to be fair it was late. But the food was really good. Drinks were good. They took a really long time to get one of my friends food out. We were pretty much done eating by time she got her food. But they did a good save by giving us some shots on the house. It was a great place and I would go back.
What a gem in the east village! You can find best food and the best prices here. The bartender is the bomb, serving up the most delicious drinks, and the chef knows what’s up. I told my mom on Mother’s Day that their Caesar salad beats hers. Such a cool vibe and ambience.
Very chill, even elegant cocktail spot in the East Village. Really neatly built out with a great staff. They were friendly and made a hell of a great cocktail. We came for drinks but perused the menu. Very interesting. We will def return to eat. We were super comfortable here, the lighting is soft & sexy. The seating was soft and made you want to stay. Great addition to the hood.
We ordered the sea bass, bacon wrapped dates, and fried chicken. The sea bass was tiny, but my girlfriend really liked it. I had the fried chicken which was perfectly crisp, yet juicy. The bacon wrapped dates were excellent. Our server was attentive, honest, and very friendly. Highly recommend giving it a shot!
Great concept! Warm and cozy vibe. Staff was friendly and attentive! Food cocktails were amazing and be sure to try the s’mores dessert. All made from scratch. The chef makes his own marshmallow! The whole experience was fantastic! My wife and I will be back! Great new spot in alphabet city!
Let me start off by saying that this is the first review I wrote for ANY establishment or service. But I was so pleased that I couldn’t resist. Me and my boyfriend went to The Cabin NYC on Wednesday evening. We were greeted with a smile the moment we walked through the door and seated immediately. The server was well versed in every aspect of the menu, and was accommodating to our drink requests. As soon as we were seated, the overall vibe and ambiance was so relaxing and cozy with a hint of romance. Honestly, at first glance of the menu, I thought the food choices were odd. HOWEVER…. we ordered the Cesar salad, portobello ravioli, bacon burger, fried chicken, and BOTH desserts. Every item was divine and the ingredients in each dish all went together so deliciously. I drove from Queens to The Cabin NYC, and I would undoubtably make the trip again just to eat the portobello ravioli. The Cesar salad had a different spin on it but was so crisp and refreshing. The fried chicken came with a nice honey sauce that went amazingly with the fried chicken and coleslaw. Out of both of the desserts we ordered, we enjoyed the deconstructed apple pie slightly more because of the warm apple slices and ice-cream. Thank you to the staff and management for making our experience beautiful and memorable. Perfect place for date night or to grab a drink to enjoy the atmosphere.
Here we go again... What can I say? You've done it again! I noticed the menu options had added food selections from my previous visit for brunch. Ofc, I had the Brussels, once again, along with The Cajun Blackened Shrimp. Very tasty!! My husband's bff had the Butternut Squash Ravioli. He was very pleased with his selection. The only thing was, it wasn't fulfilling. Lol He's a guy who likes to eat and be stuffed with his meals/orders. So, if you're ever in the mood for some tasty foods, show some love to THE CABIN! ✌🏼😊
Great experience! We arrived early for our reservation. We were invited to sit at the bar until our table was ready. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. The drinks were phenomenal! They helped us move everything to the table when it was ready. The food came out timely and was delicious! We were from out of town but would definitely visit again.
My boyfriend and I stopped in this past weekend for my birthday drinks, and I absolutely loved it there. The appetizer I had bacon covered figs TOP NOTCH! The owner is such a nice guy and so friendly and made this drink called 21 questions that is AMAZING!!!!!! I can't wait till we can go back!!
This place holds a special place in my heart as the location of my first date with my wife four years ago. From the moment we stepped inside, the warm and cozy ambiance created the perfect setting for a memorable evening. The rustic-chic decor, with its soft lighting and intimate seating, made it an ideal spot for getting to know each other in a relaxed and romantic atmosphere. As a first date spot, The Cabin was everything that I could have hoped for--comfortable, inviting, and just the right amount of secluded. The attentive service and thoughtfully curated menu only added to the experience, allowing us to focus on our conversation and connection. Whether you're looking for a cozy corner to share a bottle of wine or a charming spot to make a lasting impression, The Cabin is the perfect choice for a romantic evening in the city. It will always be a place we remember fondly, as the start of our journey together.
My Friends and I came here on a whim while we were visiting NYC. Oh my god, the food was yummy and the service was excellent. 3 days later and I am still thinking about the truffle fries, they might be the best truffle fries I have ever had. The bision burger was great as well. The fried chicken was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend!
Nice cozy spot. Good vibes and music. We had two appetizers and drinks. The truffle fries and especially the bacon are to die for! The drinks were perfect! Thanks to John our bartender for the hospitable service and great experience.
Amazing food at a reasonable price with a cool atmosphere. The chef is incredibly sweet and gave us one of the best service experiences I’ve had in a long time. Took his recommendation and had the burger and it was out of this world! Can’t recommend enough!
You know I came into this restaurant was pretty low expectations but had one of the best meals I've ever had. The flavor profiles I got in my salads to make the evening wonderful. The ambience was a great place to spend time with friends. I would recommend this place as an easy 9 out of 10 and I don't know what 10 is.
Some friends were in town and we wanted to meet up in the city to do brunch. The wife found the The Cabin NYC and made the reservations on faith and their reviews. I asked the wife we going and have you been there before. She replied no, I was like🤞. From the time I walked in to the time I left I was pleasantly surprised. They have a nice rear yard, the staff was friendly and pleaseant and the owner had casual conversation with us and shared the history of the restaurant and the neighborhood. By the way, I forgot to mention. The food was good. 😉 We had: VEGGIE BURGER BELDING BURGER SOUL FOR REAL C&W p.s. the menu on a 33 album was slick!
The Cabin is a first class restaurant. Everything is top-notch from the staff, to the food, to the ambiance. The staff and Dre, one of the owners, always take care of you here. There are specials every day. The Tuesday cheese and wine and the Thursday bacon wrapped dates specials are unbelievable. Additionally, you cannot miss the Brussel sprouts and the burrata plate. Fantastic neighborhood spot, I highly recommend the Cabin.
Honestly one of the most hospitality bars I have ever been to. The owners are incredible. The hand cut truffle fresh fries are out of this world. This is a special gem in NYC. Tell Joey Jen and Jill say Hi!
Cute little cabin with a bar, unique decor and retro theme (love the vinyl record menus!) Came for brunch recently; not a bad deal with large entrees and 3 drinks for $10 (mimosa, bloody mary, screwdriver or lager). There's a DJ booth, staff is chill, service is quick. It gets busy, but not overly packed.
Lets start with the fun camping & cabin vibe! Even with Covid, you walk to the back patio and you feel it! Stop and take a photo on the swing! =) Now, the food...truffle fries, mac & cheese, salmon entree, brussel sprouts, all of it lived up to our expectations! The portion of mac & cheese seemed small and everything is served in to-go boxes, due to Covid but overall would go again and suggest to others!
The Cabin is a great spot for drinks. It features shareable small plates and a great atmosphere. I will definitely visit again if I’m in the area. I provided photos of what we ordered that I would order again in a heartbeat. Drinks are $15-17 each. I got Citrus Bloom, Purple Envy(both are seasonal and may not be there depending when you visit.) For my 3rd drink I had the Cabin Spicy Margarita and to close I had the Campfire Old Fashioned. For shareable plates, everything ordered was for 2 people and work great portion wise. There were Truffle Fries, Salmon Cakes, Meatballs and Glazed Bacon Steak.. Amazing spot for a date. Atmosphere is everything for me and this spot delivers. I also included the menus as of(April 2024)
Sunday Throwback Brunch was such a vibe!!!! The atmosphere and decor is just sooooo COZY!! The food and drink menu had plenty of amazing choices to pick from. Mimosas and Spicy Margaritas were amazing... keep them coming kind of amazing. BLT w/ fries was such a great choice for someone who wants something filling but fresh and light-- NOT TO MENTION THE BREAD -YUM. Amish fried chicken and waffles, perfect combo of savory and sweet and that CINNAMON BUTTER. Pack that up and sell it!! Cleanliness in the restaurant and bathrooms were great. 2 bathrooms. Bar seating and also booth seating available. Lisa and Jon Jon were super helpful with the menu and have Excellent customer service. Will definitely come again! Street available parking. No reservations on a Sunday afternoon-- but I would call beforehand because the place starting getting full as it should!
Most amazing food I have ever tasted!!! Also beyond that….the atmosphere will blow you away!!! Great energy and just a beautiful space. The bacon wrapped dates were so delicious! The homemade s’mores was exciting being toasted right in front of us and it was the most delectable dessert we had ever had!!! I also suggest trying their drinks…they all taste amazing like an actual cocktail should! I highly recommend to anyone that is looking for a good vibe, amazing food and at the same time feeling at home.
This place is excellent! A beautiful rustic cabin interior. Cozy and romantic seating and bar. The service, food and drinks are top notch! The interesting thing about this place is that they change their interior decor based on the seasons. Now the inside is stunningly decorated with fall foliage and other decor and their menu also changes with the seasons! My wife and I had the pleasure of meeting the owner Joey and his staff and they took the time to explain what new and exciting things they were offering. The Spiked hot apple cider is absolutely phenomenal! The food would also knock your socks off. The butternut squash ravioli, the fall salad, and the blackened shrimp are wonderful. The salad was insanely fresh and the raviolis had this hint of cinnamon I think, that was awesome. Don't even get me started on their year round items too. We ordered the truffle fries, bacon steak, and burrata which was on another level. The burrata was the best I ever had in my life. If you haven't been here yet, you're really missing out. Its got everything you need for the perfect romantic date night.
Walking in was like a whimsical forest of trees and flowers. Fun stuffed bear decor and animal prints all around. There's even a beautifully decorated indoor swing and an outdoor patio. This is the perfect spot for drinks and small bites. The drink menu was really well thought out for the season. My friends and I enjoyed the Summer Sangria and the recommended 21 Questions Cocktail. So refreshing. The Food: the favorite of the night, and I highly recommend: the savory glazed bacon steak. Thick cut bacon with a maple glaze. Both flavors compliment one another well. - The crispy Brussels were light and airy. It was perfect! - Seasonal salad: watermelon Cucumber Salad. I was surprised that there was prosciutto in it. Comes with a light dressing and very refreshing for the summer. - The fried chicken with honey chili was also very good. Crispy and juicy paired with that dipping sauce was da bomb. I used it to dip my fries, just because. The truffle fries are a good sharing plate. Desserts were also classics, S'mores and Apple Pie. Can't go wrong with either.
We were nestled within stunning nature without all of the other unpredictable elements and we loved that! There were no flies or bees buzzing around and that was priceless. The photo ops were amazingly cute— especially on the swing and the tree centered inside of the establishment. I loved the ambiance with the infusion of hip-hop vibes and ole school feels. As a Hip-Hop Publicist, I was happier than a kid in a candy store. My Bestie ordered the chicken & waffles while I ordered the French Toast with a side of bacon. I tasted her meal and felt as though the chicken could’ve been a little more seasoned. I wasn’t crazy about my French Toast once it arrived— as the crust was tough and the middle was too soft but their combination of flavors with this dish, was spot on. The thick cut bacon was perfect. My meal had not come out simultaneously with my friend’s; however, the staff communicated with us every step of the way and made up for it by providing two complementary shots without us having to inquire about my food. The drinks were awesome! I ordered the “21 Questions” and had two more to follow. 😁 I loved the professionalism of the staff as well. We will be back each season to see the different change in decor this restaurant creates to go along with the cultural immersion. I highly recommend you grab your bestie and brunch here. This place provided an authentic way to connect with nature. The Cabin NYC dared to be different and it was delightful.
I came here for post dinner drinks on a Sunday and had an overall nice experience. My friend and I both ordered the shaky leaf cocktail and it was good in that it tasted different than your typical sweet or strong drink. It was kind of strong but the mix of the vanilla bean & pineapple made it stand out. We sat indoors and loved the décor of floral, woodsy and glamping vibes. It's great for photo-ops and there's an outdoor area in the back, which we didn't get to explore too much. I mostly loved the music here which included a lot of Drake (CLB), whom I stan, and other such hip & hop hits. Also on the way to the bathrooms there's a hidden swing which is super cute to take pics, so don't forget to check it out.
So much goodness about this place! The staff is amazing! From the moment you enter, you are greeted and seated. For drinks, I would highly recommend their Campfire Old Fashioned. The bartender adds a touch of class with 1 large cube of ice! Their Fried Chicken is the closest thing to my Great Grandma's fried chicken. Southern folks would be proud of the chef! My wife had the Jammin' Bacon Cheeseburger. The burger is hearty, flavorful and cooked to the perfection that meat lovers will appreciate. The atmosphere is cozy. It feels like a neighborhood bar. If I lived in NYC, I would be here frequently. The staff are very sociable. Despite the speed they have to work because they were busy, you never felt like they were in a hurry when talking to you. Dré runs the place and has created an incredible atmosphere between his staff and those that frequent the establishment. You could see him and his staff have fostered a relationship I could only describe as family.
The atmosphere is great and the food is delicious. Even though it seemed small, when consumed, it actually does fill you up. The Angus beef burger was delicious and juicy. One of the best burgers I've ever ate. Would definitely recommend. Make sure to make a reservation to ensure you get your seats tho.
Very limited dinner menu, even less extensive than the drinks menu. But there are vegetarian options, which was great for the people with dietary restrictions. The food is quite tasty, comes in decent quantities and filling as well. The decor and vibe was amazing- great albeit slightly too loud music, lively, and cozy. Clean. Reasonably priced for Manhattan.
I was surprised at the slightly lower-than-average rating of this place initially when I walked in, because the decor is top tier and the ambiance overall was cool. I got there at around 2 pm on a Sunday, and it was fairly quiet — just two or three other tables, but the place filled up to about 75% capacity within an hour. SERVICE: 5/5 This was definitely the biggest strength of this place. Every single waitress/hostess that approached/served us was so sweet and helpful and made sure we got everything we needed! FOOD & DRINKS: 3.5/5 This was the weakest area of the experience unfortunately. I wasn't hugely impressed by the drinks or the food, and the menu selection felt a little limited. We ordered the Egg Scramble and the BLT. The food was good, but the portions felt a little small, and they were overall nothing extremely impressive. It's worth noting that they do have an admittedly great boozy brunch deal of 3 brunch drinks (mimosa, screwdriver, or Bloody Mary) for $10 — yes, you're reading that right, 3 drinks, mix and match! No caveats or fine print. But I soon figured out why they were so cheap — I ordered a Bloody Mary, and it was pretty subpar. The garnishes are the heart and soul of a Bloody Mary, and they don't include them, which was a little disappointing. Clearly a cost-cutting tactic to keep the deal as cheap as it is, but still notable. The Mimosas, while good enough, were pretty clearly made with cheap orange juice. This may or may not matter to some, but in case that's a point of importance, it's noteworthy. AMBIANCE: 5/5 Once again, I really enjoyed the ambiance of this place. It was pretty unique, and the seating was comfortable. OVERALL RATING: 4/5 It could be that we ordered the less impressive items on the menu, but overall, this was a good experience. I'd say this is a good spot to hang with a friend or a small group — but not necessarily one you should absolutely go out of your way to experience over other options in East Village. I'd classify it as a "second choice" place — somewhere you can go for a reliably good experience when other more popular places are too busy.
Great service and the food was yummy! My husband and I got the burger, fried chicken, and salmon cakes. We also got two cocktails that were really good! The staff were very friendly and attentive. The only thing is that their tables are very small and slanted, so it makes it a bit uncomfortable to eat.
First time doing indoor dining for a while in NYC! It was great customer service, great food. It was 5 of us, was supposed to be 7, but still they accommodated us very well! Felt very welcoming and comforting. The drinks were not strong enough for us though. We added extra shots and still nothing. But we would go back for the burger and that Mac and cheese and the customer service!
Earthy, cozy atmosphere and great drinks! I had chicken and waffles. The chicken was fried very well but not seasoned well. Could use a little help there but the waffles were amazing!
The ambiance was great and we had chicken and waffles with a great drink call 21 questions we had 5 of those. They have a special ginger syrup that they make to top off the drink that makes it great. I do recommend. Here is a picture of the 21 questions.
Great atmosphere, great music, great drinks. The sever was kind but it was the night of a roll out of new menu items and she didn’t mention it really. She didn’t really go over the menu with us at all. I was disappointed that they didn’t have the bison. The server said it was because of the new items. This was how she told us there were new menu items. The vegan burger had a fairly deflated looking bun on it. Overall it was cool.
Super cute spot! Easy to make a reservation for a Sunday afternoon, and didn’t have to wait to be seated once I arrived. It’s warm, festive, cheerful, and not overly loud. A relatively small space. Service is quick and friendly. I really enjoyed the mulled wine and the breakfast scrambler with toast on the side (scrambled eggs with cheese, tomatoes, and side salad). My friend got the French toast with scrambled eggs on the side and French fries.
A solid 3.5. I love the throwback vibe and the menu on the vinyl is a quirky touch. We were a group of 5 ladies and were seated in a very tight space that's probably best for 4 people. The food is good, but nothing outstanding. My biggest complaint though is when restaurants state they have maple syrup on the menu, and it's basically corn syrup. I'd rather they say "pancake syrup" or something, as it's misleading. This Canadian knows real maple syrup 😉 Overall a good experience and a fun place to come with friends. The staff were friendly and welcoming.
A solid 6/10 for me for brunch. I got the sausage gravy and biscuits, and I was expecting the sausage gravy to have more white suace and it had none. The 3 for $10 drink deal is amazing though! Finally, service was good, but we felt a little rushed by staff.
Really cute atmosphere but the food was bad. 5 stars was cuteness and 3 stars for food. And 3 stars for the hour wait for the food. I should’ve taken pics but it was so ugly that it wasn’t worth it. The French toast was 3 tiny pieces of regular bread (including a butt piece). The whole thing was only .5 inches high max. The scrambled eggs was really over cooked and they forgot my bell peppers in it. The chicken in the chicken and waffles was very dry and bland. Maybe the dinner is better.
I have been here twice now in two years. This time I went with my partner, her 15 y.o. daughter and my 24 y.o. daughter. This is going to sound a bit odd - but after we left the restaurant both the 15 y.o. and the 24 y.o. said that they'd had the distinct experience that the owner, who was walking by all the time between the kitchen and the bar (and thus by our table), was watching like a hawk for their reaction. They felt weirdly pressured to 'performatively' look as though they were having the BEST time, otherwise, the owner would subtly telegraph his concern. That said, the service was very good. The house old-fashioned is super delicious - they are rightfully proud of their cocktails. The portions/pours could be a bit more generous... but high points for flavor and originality. The food.. I don't know what to say - it's like the menu is designed to give you diabetes. EVERYTHING is covered in or seasoned with SUGAR. I kid you not. It's like candy, or sugar, is the through line going through the entire menu. I don't know why more people aren't saying more about this in their reviews. They encourage sharing but, ironically (? maybe not ironically?) the portions are MEAGER for what you're paying. As nice as the staff, cocktails and vibe are, I probably won't eat here again just based on the 'sugary-ness' of the cuisine alone. They do have a young crowd there, so maybe the kids love all the sugar in their food? I dunno. The decor is kinda neat, lots of nice wood, the indoor trees and the camping lanterns are all pretty cute. I know it's called 'Cabin' and their going for a certain vibe. It's unique, but ultimately feels gimmicky and kind of downmarket to me. The instagram-y picture nook between the commodes is kinda comical in 2024.. just sayin'. But maybe the kids still love it. Anyway - you're alright Cabin - you have integrity.. you're doing you.. but I don't think I'm really in your demographic and I will spend my hard-earned coin elsewhere going forward. Your mileage, dear reader, may vary.
The food and drinks were fine, except for the lobster roll. That wasn't anywhere near good enough to justify the 25$ price point. However, they charge an automatic 20% gratuity for any check over 100.00 and, I believe, a 9% service charge on top of that. I'm tired of businesses trying to squeeze every red cent they can out of our wallets.
I have to give this place a solid "meh" I get the idea of having a limited menu for brunch, but if it's small, the food had better be spectacular. I came with a group and we all got different things and everyone was pretty disappointed in their food. The food also came out at wildly different times and the servers had to ask about 3 different times what we were waiting for. One person's side of bacon didn't arrive until after everyone had completely finished their meals. Spotty service just really set it over the edge, with inattentive servers and very small pours on both cocktails and coffee - I'm talking like 3/4 full cups that were rushed over with no offer of refills.
Very cute restaurant, decor was nice, food was mediocre at best. Brunch was a very limited menu, no appetizers. Prices are reasonable. Ordered a burger medium and it came well - done, others at the table had same issue. Also, it was 8 of us and everyone's food came out at different times and one person's dish came out after we were all basically finished with our dishes.
The ambience was nice, the waiters were nice and helpful. However, wish they had more options with food I had the fried chicken took one home to realize it wasn't cooked completely. But for good vibes it was worth the trip. I was suggested the rustic mule, wish I could taste the alcohol.
Food was okay but overpriced. Drinks were inconsistent. Our second round of the same cocktails tasted quite different, with noticeably less liquid in the glasses. While polite, the service was incredibly rushed. Literally had to ask multiple servers to leave plates that still had food after they took them without asking. Definitely not returning here.
Really disappointed with this place as it looks so cute. Wasn’t a big fan of the very loud speaker over our table. Everything was very expensive. There was one person who worked there, I think she was a hostess, she was great. Everyone else was the worst. They were very aggressive and rude, they seemed to have an attitude from the moment we walked in. The food was not good. The biscuits and gravy…. Idk what that was but it wasn’t that. The biscuits were really weird and the gravy was not a traditional sausage gravy. It was like minced sausage and onions… idk it was gross. I paid $8 for orange juice and overall we just had a really u enjoyable experience.
Came here for brunch with a large group. Host dressed in a Santa suit was rude, passive aggressive, and dismissive. He later softened up (likely after realizing we were actually there to eat and not drink). Asserted that he did us a favor by moving a small table next to the larger table to accommodate our large group (yes, thank you but chill with the attitude) and asserted he could not give us another chair (we were squeezing onto the bench) because they had many other resies. We were there from 12-1:45 and maybe one other party of two had walked in. Drinks were pretty good, recommend the hot toddy and old fashioned. Food was average, I enjoyed the waffles a lot in the chicken and waffles but the chicken was dry. Their burrito was sad. Their food was also overpriced imho. Will not be back.
Came here on a weekend, late afternoon with sister and friend. We were stunned that it was still crowded past brunch hours. The staff was friendly and offered us seats by the bar. About 40 minutes and 2 drinks in, we were getting restless and asked for a wait time estimation. We received a comforting, "whenever a table leaves." A big table opens up but it was given to a couple who entered after us and definitely didn't need that much space. We decided to leave after we heard staff talking amongst themselves about running out of ingredients. I've never worked in the food industry but it seems really disorganized to get to that point. Two stars for the tasty cocktails, cute record menus, and cabin decor. Wish I had an actual dining experience because it wasn't an easy commute getting there.
I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at this establishment. Upon reviewing my bill, I noticed I was overcharged by $113 for food and items I did not order. I attempted to contact the restaurant several times, but no one answered the phone. This is incredibly frustrating, especially when I feel the manager—who I believe was named Joe—tried to be charming while recommending items we didn’t order, which felt conniving. Please double-check your bill before paying, and be cautious when tipping, as I believe the service was dishonest and manipulative in this case. I sincerely hope the restaurant takes these concerns seriously and improves their customer service moving forward.
Went in for brunch. Such Greasy food, no love. It was potato’s and eggs scrambled with a lot of oil. No onions, no bell peppers no condiment… small plate for 14 bucks Wish I had stayed home, not worth the price or calories. The service staff was great, but I am not coming back
I understand that the culinary arts are difficult to master and that every chef surely tries their best to deliver an enjoyable and memorable experience to their customers. It is without hesitation or remorse, however, that I say this was without a doubt the worst meal I have had in my life. Every dish my party ordered - the burger, the salad, the dessert - were all almost spat out by the party. While it fueled an evening of laughter and solidarity, the food made for an extremely disappointing dining experience in a neighborhood whose reputation is built on excellence. Maybe we were unlucky! I’m rooting for this place; The servers are quick, kind, and good at their jobs. The interior design is attractive and consistent through every corner of the establishment and caters to those looking for a cozy, intimate mood. But if you are at all hungry, if you are even looking for a snack or morsel of delicately crafted food or, rather, anything remotely edible, this is not your destination. Do not stop here. Move along.
It has a nice vibe but the food is NOT worth the price. My one slice of French toast with maple syrup and some apple slices on top, eggs with cheddar and an $8 can of beer came to $37. The French toast was on the burnt side and the eggs had English onion cheddar that added $2 to the $6 side of eggs 🤷🏾♀️
A solid place to stop by for a sunday/weekend brunch. The throwback brunch has a good atmosphere with songs and videos playing. Record menu’s. There weren’t many GF/gluten free options but I was able to get eggs with a side of bacon. The meal was ok quality and I wouldn’t run back for the food, but it was nice to catch up with friends and hang out. They have an area for instagram photos which is cute as well!
The place is cute and the music is good but the drinks were absolutely horrible and the food was even worse. I hate to write a review like this about a place but I also hate spending a lot of money on really poor quality drinks and food. The fries and the fried chicken both tasted like they were cooked last night then refried again today. The drinks are all super sweet and watered down. The service was good but wow I could not believe how consistently bad the food and drinks were. Hopefully it was just a one time coincidence.
This place is really bad. We made reservations for 2PM on a Sunday and were seated outdoors in the “cabin” (plastic tent). We were told that a reservation didn’t guarantee an inside table. It was freezing cold. The server had an attitude problem (which she later apologized for). We were looking for somewhere else to go when the server suggested we order drinks and they would get us to a table or the bar in 20 minutes for food. Shortly after, they took our food order outdoors with still the promise to move us in. Way more than 20 minutes elapsed. We found ourselves eating our food out in the cold. Then, someone else was seated outdoors and they asked about open tables inside and were told that those tables were being held for reservations…. At that point, my friend held the manager accountable and got us moved indoors. We had finished our food and were just having our final brunch drink. The staff here are rude and they are liars. Aside from that poor experience, this place has bigger problems. Brunch dishes are served in small bowls that make it very hard to cut and eat. Are the bowls small to make the portions look larger? $15 gets you scrambled eggs and a few potatoes. The biscuits and gravy has a delicious sauce, but the bread is under cooked. Also the arugula on top is weird. They blast music midday like they’re some kind of club. The place clearly wants to be a scene. It’s a lot like Poco up the street - and we all know Poco is disgusting. I’ll never return to The Cabin, and I caution you to avoid it as well.
What started out as a good evening took a turn when something nudged my foot from under the booth. I looked down, and a RAT was walking down the perimeter of the restaurant. My partner, who also saw the rat, alerted our server as we were sitting inside, so it was pretty alarming. Our server quickly grabbed the manager/owner who all but dismissed us and said, "Well, someone else would have said something if there was actually a rat." What? We were genuinely concerned about a rat freely roaming the inside of what appeared to be a very nice restaurant. The manager/owner escalated the situation further, and was completely rude. We think he thought we were trying to scam him or something. He finally said that they would "look into it", but didn't alert any other diners and didn't even bother looking in the area where the rat walked. At this point we were extremely uncomfortable and asked for our check, as did the table next to us. When the check arrived, they had added a 20% gratuity even though it wasn't disclosed anywhere on their menu (or on their website). It's usually not surprising to see added gratuity, but after this whole situation it seemed strange. We never got an apology, and I doubt they looked into this at all. Overall, this was an incredibly disappointing experience for our first meal in NYC.
