Friendly service and reasonably priced drinks. I will be back.
Great selection of local and different beers, good food, and incredible service. Long tight bar up front but tons of space in the back and outside. Surprised, but glad that not a lot of people know about this place!
Fantastic selection of tap beers complete with great descriptions. Food was great too. We had the lamb burger, the horseback appetizer, the impossible burger, the regular burger, chips, etc at our table and it was all well reviewed. The staff was perfect. Super friendly and personable, provided recommendations and clearly knew the menu. Would recommend.
Superb! They have a fine selection of craft New York beers. The bartender was fantastic - even after a tour group of 20 people came in he was still attentive. It has a large back patio that you can’t see from the street, and a classy front bar. Real close to the sky tram too.
The Jeffrey is a gem, hiding in plain sight, right there under the Queensboro Bridge. With a solid 3 to 5 pages of rotating craft beers, and an excellent menu of small plates, sandwiches, burgers, and even oysters, everyone is guaranteed to be happy. Unless they have some sort of disability that prevents them from feeling happy, in which case, I am sorry to hear that. It's cozy in the winter, and the back yard patio is open in the summer. Why are you still reading this? I bet another keg just turned over.
FAV BAR IN THE UPPER EAST! Honestly, what more could a girl ask for? Indoor AND outdoor seating. Amazing food (hand cut fries with truffle aioli & chili are just tries). Best part is the staff. So friendly and accommodating . Gigi makes GREAT hot toddys.
Staff is unimaginably great! I've had a beer every day before walking across the bridge, so on the first day the bartender lended me his phone for me to text somebody because my messages didn't work, on the second day the girl bartender made my day with singing and the greatest energy imaginable, on the third day a very lovely bartender gave me a free beer, so guys - if you ever read these reviews - Thank you and You're awesome. From the girl in a green coat and a backpack.
I recently attended my nieces celebration after receiving her PhD. I’m from Rhode Island. They celebrated in the room in the back. I would like to say that the food was excellent. A buffet was served with mostly appetizers & small plates. What a wonderful arrangement. From the charcuterie board, the empanadas, especially the spinach along with the great dipping sauce, the veggie crudités which slightly blanched veggies. I really liked that. Sliders , salad. Everything was flavorful. The place had a really nice vibe & the staff was so friendly & attentive. What a treat. Thank you from a Rhode Island foodie.
This is our go to spot for a great craft beer or any other drink when we are in the neighborhood. Fun to ride the aerial team over to Roosevelt Island, or to stop by Serendipity for a crazy dessert if you like! Friendly service and some great options await you here! Stop by if you are in the area!
Was able to reserve a few tables for a bday party that got rained out. The owner and staff were super accommodating and kind, especially given the short notice! Great relaxed vibe and good drinks
First night in town and hit up my new friend Jeffrey! Drink options were plentiful and our waiter was super helpful describing the menu options. Great vibe, very laid back with an industrial feel.
Fantastic hidden gem in NYC! We walked in for food, and we left with an amazing time! Not only was the burger what most places call “Gourmet burgers”, but the atmosphere, the beer and most importantly the service was just perfect! A huge shout out to Sheilla! Thank you for looking after us, and making us feel so welcome!
We came here on our honeymoon the servers were knowledgable, attentive, and fast. Rocky was our bartender very friendly. We will be coming back! Good beers and vibes.
This place was great to grab dinner and drinks with the family and then come back for late night drinks (if you’re brave). Gigi was an amazing bartender, so if you have a free night on Sunday or Wednesday, make sure to stop by!
Max is absolutely phenomenal. We came here on Christmas Eve. He was so nice and talkative. Even on Christmas Eve—when most places weren’t open. We appreciated his hospitality. They have free portable chargers. You don’t even need to find a plug in for your phone. Thank you Max. Merry Christmas.
The staff at The Jeffrey Craft Beer & Bites remembers regular customers and their preferences. I walk out feeling cared for after every meal. The team works with noticeable efficiency. Their large servings mean guaranteed leftovers. I was struck by the excellence of this spot.
This is a long overdue review but I’ve been coming here for years and I’ve had my 30th birthday party as well as my engagement shoot photos taken here. They are the best staff and they go out of their way to make everything seamless. Truly a gem of a place on the upper east side!
Chill spot to catch up with friends. Great food and drinks. I had the bee sting, comfort zone and creamsicle, the pho taco is delicious! The pretzel was a great starter. Shout out to Stephanie for being a great server and super accommodating. Also side note the first restroom doesn’t lock properly.
Visited this place in the afternoon. Seeing the place packed with locals is always a good indicator. If you like to deviate from the regular path, visit this place. Waitress was kind and had a sharp eye for empty glasses. Liked the IPA’s on draft and the backyard terrace. Nice place to hang out
I really enjoyed a birthday party that I attended here. The staff was very attentive and friendly. They offer a wide range of craft beer options, many of which I had never heard of before. The place is very comfortable and has an inviting vibe to it. We didn't have any food. I would definitely come back here again. They play good music too.
I haven't been able to eat here yet! But the owners are super nice and everyone who works there are super cool. They let MTA drivers use their bathrooms which is very nice of them!! Thank you from the driver!!. I do have to say it always smells delicious whatever their customers are eating in their restaurant/bar.
A beer bar and cocktail bar combined, but also separate. Two long narrow spaces connected in the rear where you'll find some tables, and also access to the patio. The interior is a bit rough and unpolished, and gives the place a cozy/divey feel. About 30 rotating taps, wine, cider, and a full bar. The food menu includes everything from classic bar snacks to sandwiches, salads & soups to Long Island oysters. Part of the Beerly Legal Group.
Great food with a very extensive menu meaning one is sure to find something that appeals to their taste. Portions large for their price point and service was fast despite the consistently busy atmosphere. Servers were attentive while never being overbearing. Also an excellent draft selection. Would rate high for those looking for a meal and a couple beers to go along with it.
Best place to have a party! Great drinks and food at reasonable prices and wonderful staff
Great service, great prices for brunch! The breakfast tacos and the mushroom/gruyere omelette were a hit with our group. Waitress made us a fresh pot of coffee and was able to accommodate a group of 8 with no reservation on a Saturday midday which was excellent. Will be back for a beer next time I’m commuting back on the gondola from Roosevelt Island for some reason...
Would walk right by based on The exterior, not exciting or inviting - but based on reviews and menu we gave it a shot and definitely worth it! -The owner was behind the bar and very friendly -had happy hour Sunday during the football games -Paloma was good- could use more grapefruit flavor -the blacked chicken and bacon sandwich was very good -nice they have all the flavor options for fries
A truly incredible nyc beer bar. Bartender is good vibes and always there when you want a drink. The selection of beers is truly impressive. They have the special nitro milk stout taps and all sorts of crazy beers on draft. Even my favorite brewery from Vermont hill farmstead.
Came for Friday happy hour. The oysters were not the best quality but for $1 I can’t complain. Our server was very knowledgeable in beer pairings and suggestions. We had small bites which were good. This place is really affordable and has lots of space.
Definitely a gladly found hidden gem!!! Rocky was the most knowledgeable and kind gentleman behind the bar, walking me through all the incredible happy hour specials and features! Know to the chef for the non traditional and yet wildly traditional taco selections! Definitely try the one offs but the core menu is oh so amazing. Pho taco is a must. Rocky thank you for the great hospitality and recommendations of the city!
Love this place. It’s my go to after work in the city. Ambiance front to back and outside is great. Very nice beer selection - it’s not heavy on any one style which I really appreciate. The food selection and quality is great too. No complaints about service either!
Gigi and Ben are simply the best!!! They always treat the MSK ICU nurses with a joyful, kind, generous attitude. We love coming here - it’s the go to celebration spot as well as Sunday post shift wind down. The cheese board and oysters are delightful, and they make a fantastic aperol spritz! Great beer selection but most importantly - great service. Shout out to Ben and Gigi!!
This is a fantastic venue for an event! I hosted a 20-person birthday at The Jeffrey on a Sunday and the staff was incredibly organized and helpful! Communication leading up to the event was easy and clear. We ordered food platters ahead of time and everything was very tasty! Would absolutely host something here again and recommend for anyone considering having an event here.
We were hosting a bachelor/ette party and the restaurant we first planned fell through. We went to The Jeffrey at last minute and they immediately helped us accommodate a group of 30 people. They managed at least 20 different checks, served food and drinks in such a timely manner. The staff was incredible (shoutout to Ben for making this happen!) and everything was amazing. They saved the day, truly.
10 out of 10. If you’re a local and haven’t been or a visitor, do not sleep on this place. Cool location, great menu, and service was perfect. Stephanie was my favorite server I think I’ve ever had; cool vibe, friendly, and super efficient. Dave was super easy to email with in setting up a reservation for 10 couple weeks out (5 adults and 5 kids). The kids all said it was their favorite meal all weekend. We got a lot of the menu, popcorn, peas, pretzel, chicken sando, lamb burger, smash burger, and I had the pork sandwich on this very tasty rosemary ciabatta bread. The beers were great, the jalapeño Marquita, and the Bloody Mary were also excellent. We look forward to coming back!!!
A wonderful craft beer selection with some fantastic breweries, see current menu in pictures. I always want to try as many as possible when touring so getting a flight is the best way, they only offered 3 drinks per flight. A really nice venue, with a great beer garden and views if the Queensboro Bridge and Roosevelt Tramway, I couldn't recommend enough for Craft Beer enthusiasts. We received some great service from entering until we left. We didn't eat so cannot comment, but it looked good and there seemed to be lots of locals eating. Dog Friendly and Sports available on TV. Thanks guys 🍺 🍻
Great dive bar with well-priced drinks and tasty bar snacks. They have a nice “backyard” that seems brand new. Looks like it can get packed in and out there when the time is right. The prices are very reasonable including the deal on Oysters for happy hour. Haven’t had Oysters in some time so gave it a shot (6 oyster minimum) and the empanadas (Argentinian beef) were very good. Staff was friendly and attentive. Additionally l, good selection of beers. I’d check this place out if you’re looking for a simple dive bar around this area.
Good casual local bar. This is a nice affordable place for a few craft beers with friends. Has a nice selection of beers to check out and staff is friendly if you have questions or need advice. The food was bette than expected for pub food. The place does get packed, but doesn’t feel packed and you can still have conversations and hear people.

Sheila held it down for a large group of us while Ty behind the bar made great drinks at reasonable prices. Nice outdoor area in the back and big TVs for sports.

Great beer selection and pretty good atmosphere. Can get a bit loud inside. Backyard can be great when it's not too crowded (closed right now). A bit inconsistent with the cocktails. I had a mostly Compari Manhattan that was way below acceptable. Service is hit or miss. Some bartenders are very friendly and attentive but not all. Food is so-so but edible. Still, if you're in the hood it's a not a bad place to land for a drink.
Came here as a large group in the mid-afternoon and were treated very well overall. The beer selection here in on par with some of the best spots in the city. Lots of local choice. All the food looked good, but was often too decadent for my tastes (cheese, truffle, cream, etc. on everything). Would like to see some simplicity. The backyard is great if the weather is nice. Inside it can get a little stuffy. And having a beer bar with only 2 unisex restrooms is never a good thing. Finally, the service we had was extremely friendly and helpful, but very infrequent. Seems we waited ages in between drinks.
Great spot for both small bights and drinks. Great local happy hour with high quality drinks
Nice bar with excellent selection except Guinness! Great friendly service too!
Diamond in the rough. The food was surprisingly fresh and well prepared, although the bar was packed and the servers were short handed, they did a fantastic job of keeping up. Nice spot
Their outdoor patio area is opened after construction with plenty of seating on a Friday evening! Be wary of the mosquitos and some small critters in the area (like any other outdoor establishment). The wait staff were attentive and quick to take our order. We ordered 1 spicy cheese and 1 Argentinian Beef empanada; both were very flavorful and buttery melts in your mouth. The Pho taco was a bit overpowering in flavor and the beef was not tender and half was unconsumed. I loved the beer and the laid back atmosphere. Great date spot since you can hear while outside. Will be returning for their happy hour deals!
Really great little craft beer pub which is making the best of limited outdoor space. There are some tall tables and well organized service. Unfortunately the digital menu didn't work on my phone, but that's a minor issue. The draft beers were all great and the bites were unusual (dates with blue cheese and bacon) but worked.
Really enjoyed the patio seating, the smash burger and the beers. I came here with a group and we were able to make a reservation as well. Would definitely come back

Standard craft beer and whiskey bar with unique food options including "pho" tacos. Note that there is a stark contrast of vibes for indoor seating vs outdoor (which is near a noisy, busy highway).…
Nothing special, music was pretty loud, tables were sticky, food was mid. We sat relatively close to the restroom, you could smell. Prices were usually for the city, too high for what we got, the only time the waiter almost smiled was when we tipped when paying. Not coming back
First time eating here. What looked like awesome affordable Oktoberfest lunch disappointed big time ☹️ Fries were refried or completely forgotten in fryer. it's a baby brat - didn't taste like a solid bratty. More like hillshire farms in a bad American hotdog bun. No kraut. Server nice guy, flying solo. So not a comment on him, a lot to put on one dude. Recommend, beer pub so offer beer fr moment ur seated and given water. So even if ur waiting while for someone to get ur order, u can enjoy a pint in killer Bier garten
UPDATE: I came back a couple more times, but on my last visit I was told I had to sit outside because I had a dog. That's confusing, since I’d previously been allowed inside with no issue. It was a cold day, so both the food and experience weren't enjoyable, and the inconsistent rules make me hesitant to come back. Because of this, I'm downgrading from five to three stars. -- This bar is an absolute gem, a new favorite I'll be recommending to everyone! My first drink was fantastic, and when I asked for something different but similar, the staff’s recommendation was spot-on. It’s been tough finding a truly dog-friendly indoor space (not just for service dogs), but this place went above and beyond. I spent three hours here with my puppy, letting him adjust to new sounds and sights, and everyone—staff and customers alike—was so welcoming. No one got upset when he got a little rowdy, which was such a relief. I only wish I had found this place sooner! With the private patio in the back, I can definitely see myself hanging out here year-round. Can’t wait to come back!
Not sure how I feel about this place yet. The smasher burger was really good, the fries with chili were ok. Service was ok. \n\nFriends keep bragging about it so I'll try it again.
Disappointing. Good vibes but terrible service. Our food was delivered to another table and 20 minutes later the waitress (blue dress middle aged) tried to then give us the same cold food (which ended up being about an hour late for some popcorn and an empanada). They did not offer to comp anything or really take responsibility for the mistake (other than the food runner who was pleasant). Low awareness that she is a service provider…
Not worth the trek. Their actual draft beers do not match their online menu. If you were looking for that special Fidens, Messorem, Hill farmstead, etc. there is a good chance they don't have it (even if their website says they do). Skip this place.
