This place is delicious. I celebrated my birthday there 2 years ago, and since then, I've been bringing my friends there to enjoy the best Italian style. I'm always trying different plates and have never left disappointed. It's great for a date or party. Highly recommend 👌
Yep another 5 start review! Twice in one day like a miracle! We had a big crowd of big eaters and this place didn't disappoint. Was it the highest gourmet quality? HMMM? But the food was made with nice ingredients served piping hot! The meal was timed so well and the waiter and wait staff did a super job of taking care of us. FYI you can tell the food was prepared well as the pasta was perfectly cooked! A little heavy on the garlic and spices? Yeah maybe but nothing much left at the end. Also notice that the restaurant was very nice and they sat us in a little comfortable private area. We could actually all hear and talk with each other in NYC. Ok here is the deal, if you have a crowd to feed and you want to be filled with nice food in a comfortable setting than Tony Di Napoli is for you. I would be very happy to come back
We went with our Family to celebrate our Mother's 60th birthday, it was fabulous. Our party included 1 baby and a toddler. The service 🤌🏾😚, the accomodations🤌🏾😚 and the food 🤌🏾😚. There was more than enough for our huge party. Every one left very full and happy. I would 10/10 recommend for families. Thank you guys for this wonderful service!
We came here as a group of six for lunch and had a wonderful experience. The food was excellent, the service attentive and efficient, and the overall experience was exactly what we had hoped for. I would definitely come back and would recommend this place to others.
Tony’s Di Napoli has such a warm and lively atmosphere — the kind of place that instantly feels like classic New York. The restaurant is always buzzing with conversation, but in a way that adds to the experience rather than overwhelming it. You can really tell it’s a spot people come to enjoy themselves. The food came out impressively fast, and everything was prepared perfectly. The chicken parm was incredibly tender, with a tomato sauce that had a deep, rich flavor — easily one of the best I’ve had in the city. For dessert, I tried the tiramisu, and it felt fancy in the best way. The dusting of cocoa powder on top gave it a nice finish, and the sauce that came with it tied everything together beautifully. Overall, Tony’s Di Napoli delivers great food, fast service, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay a little longer.
Italian restaurant, good for a family and more :) it was right after New Year celebrations, so it seems to have less people but I made a reservation in case. Veal, two pastas and a dessert I got. Friendly staffs. Tables are little bit small for 4 people but they have many staffs taking care of the whole. Kids friendly for sure!
I came as a guest to a party of 25, and the experience was amazing from start to finish. The staff handled such a big group so smoothly, everything felt organized, friendly, and welcoming. The food came out family-style, and every dish was delicious. The pasta was creamy and comforting, the chicken and eggplant parm were perfectly sauced and cheesy, and the steak in mushroom sauce was tender and flavorful. Even the roasted potatoes were incredible, crispy on the outside and buttery inside. The portions were huge, and the whole table stayed full and happy the entire night. The vibe was lively but still cozy, with that classic New York Italian energy that makes you feel right at home. It’s the kind of place made for laughter, good food, and big memories. I’d absolutely come back ✨Tony’s Di Napoli knows how to make a celebration feel special. 🍝🍷💛
Probably the best Italian food I’ve had in NYC! Every dish was perfectly put together — hats off to the chef. The ambiance was top-notch. Solid 10/10.
The food was excellent, big portions. When they say one order is good for 2-3 people, they mean it!! We got the mixed seafood platter and it was so delicious. You get a whole lobster (not just tails) & it’s worth the price. The service was on point, very professional & quick. The only downside is it was packed and very crowded so pretty loud. Otherwise, highly recommend!
This place was just around the corner where we stayed and we were hungry and it was definitely the right pick. We did not have reservations and we were seated right away. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful, making suggestions and answering questions. We ended up having 2 different servers. But every employee who walked past our table checked on us. Very pleased with the service. Loved the atmosphere. Real tablecloths, real cloth napkins. The food was AMAZING. You have the option of half orders or full orders because the intention is to share, family style. We ordered the half order of calamari. R ordered the half order of veal Parmesan. I ordered the half order mixed seafood linguine far diavolo. I also had a delicious peach bellini R had a birra moretti beer. He said it was good. Then we ordered the alligator mule. It's made with fernet and ginger beer. I loved it. R not so much, but he's a beer/whisky drinker so his opinion doesn't count here! The calamari came out quick. Hot and tasty. The main dishes arrived timely. They were amazing. The veal was tender, the sauce delicious and lots of melty cheese! The seafood linguine was spicy! Loved it. It was loaded with shrimp, clam, squid, .. there is a lobster option but I didn't get that. We stuffed ourselves and brought home enough for us to have another meal later. We had a tartuffo vanilla ice cream with a cherry inside covered with chocolate. So very yummy. I highly recommend this place and come hungry. Bring friends to help you eat!!
This last weekend I went to a large graduation dinner at Tony’s. Having never been before I was impressed with its massive layout and seating capacity. The food was phenomenal, the chicken parm and the shrimp parm stole the show. The seafood paella and calamari also both had strong flavors and are worth getting as an appetizer. We drank sangria pitchers which I believe is the most bang for your buck so to speak for drinking with a large group (if you don’t get a bottle of wine). For those who are curious, the venue has multiple stairs throughout and the bathroom is located downstairs two flights . I would definitely come back for the food again but maybe not in such a large crowd. For our large table of 15 it took us 3 hours. Sometimes our waiter would go and it would be hard to find him because of the layout. I understand the nature of the business and they were packed nevertheless just something to keep in mind.
Visiting while on a business trip and happen to stumble upon this location. Very delicious. Servings are large and everything taste so fresh. Definitely recommend this place.
We went a week ago for the first time and we absolutely loved it! I think i found my favorite italian restaurant in the UES. Waldeck took care of us and he was great! We had the linguini white clam sauce and the rigatoni bolognese and we loved it, specially the rigatoni.
Always the perfect place for a regular meal or a celebration. Food is amazing and the service is superb. Our waiter Andy was FANTASTIC serving our party of 10. He completed our amazing time at Tony Di Napoli’s on the upper east!!
Tony’s Di Napoli is a great restaurant and I highly recommend! The atmosphere is cozy, staff is friendly, place is clean, and food was amazing. I highly recommend the Rigatoni Vodka Pasta and the Chicken cutlet. So delicious I would definitely come back here!
The food was amazing! Portions were great! I ordered the Rigatoni ala vodka with mushrooms and for the table we had the Asian pear salad and shrimp scampi which were all just amazing! We saw a lot of people order the calamari so next time I will definitely order that! We finished off our dinner with a lovely sundae which was big enough for 3 of us! Had one little down side. Our waiter would disappear or we would have to keep waving them down. While it was empty, they were nowhere in sight and it just took longer to get our orders in. Some tables were catered to faster than ours while we were there first.
If you’re looking for good, comforting Italian American food, then Tony’s is a must. I’ve visited both locations countless times since 2009 and the food is consistent and you can count on have a good meal if you’re selecting anything off the core menu. This was my first ordering one of the specials (Spicy Rigatoni alla Vodka) and I wish we would have stuck with the original version on the menu. The rigatoni wasn’t al dente, it was practically raw and hard to chew. We sent it back and the dish was remade. The pasta was still a bit undercooked but edible compared to the first plate we received. Regardless of this recent experience, their Chicken Francese is always delicious and so is their Veal and Eggplant and you should save some room for dessert. Service here is good but sometimes it can be a miss (but when it’s good, it’s great). The older manager with glasses is a true gentleman who cares about service so he’ll make sure you have a great time. If you’re looking to have a night out with the family or with friends, I would recommend Tony’s. Prices are fair and it’s family style, both half and full size portions which ensures everyone gets a bit of everything.
We have a lot of good Italian restaurants in New York and are a bit spoiled. Living here my whole life I realized I have never tried this restaurant as I have always heard it was good. The bread that was put out was so bad they should be embarrassed. The drinks were average , they didn’t make the martini right unfortunately. For dinner I went with classic chicken parmigiana, it was good. The ravioli bolognese was good and had very good flavor in the sauce. Overall though, both my wife and I felt nothing stood out or was special about this place and we have really have no reason to go back.
We had accidently booked the east side instead of the mid town location. So by the time we had ran to this one we were a few min late past our time. But we talked to the lady at the door and she instructed us to go down the stairs and check in. We waited 15 min to check in while the 2 hostesses chatted and gossiped. Then we finally got checked in after a gentleman walked by and asked if we needed help. Once checked in we waited another 15-20 min to get our table. We were finally seated 45 min after our reservation. I understand there is time to wait but 45 for our table seemed long for reservations. Now once we sat down the waitress was good. She got our order and drinks. Our food came out quickly and it was good.
I made a reservation for one thinking this would be a nice last meal in the city. When I checked in with the hostess she commented, “Oh, just one,” which felt a little judgmental. It took 20 minutes for my order to be taken. The fried zucchini was good dipped in the sauce but pretty flavorless on its own. I also found what looked like a piece of calamari mixed in with it. The eggplant parmesan felt a little undercooked and tasted sweet. Overall, a disappointing meal with mediocre service. It looks nice though and the portions were well worth the price.
