I was referred to Vesuvios. I cannot believe this was my first time here! The food was outstanding as was the service and atmosphere! We definately will be making this place our go to place for dining out! My son had the prime rib special. He had rave reviews about his meal. I had the grilled chicken Caesar salad. It was sublime! Our waiter was so nice . We arrived at 5 and there was a good amount of people already there so I would recommend a reservation. Everything was so very clean and the layout was very nice.

Honest foodie

So we have seen a lot of amazing reviews and mentions of this place for a couple years. The other night we were in town and even though it says reservations recommended it was 7:00 pm and figured why not try a table for two. 10 minutes later we had a table. The service was on point. From the appetizer to the main course of the food was amazing. I had enough of my meal for two sittings. You go here and you won’t be disappointed.

Norway 2 Kilo India

This was my first visit to Vesuvios. I heard about it for years but never made it there until today. Reservations are recommended. The atmosphere is quite nice and has the perfect ambiance (in my opinion). Service was timely and courteous. We started our venture with drink specials (Limoncello Martini, Pinot Grigio and Spiced Pear Martini). Excellent on all accounts. Appetizers were Butternut Squash soup (seasonal) and fried Calimari. Vesuvius Calimari is one of the best. Crispy crust and tender pieces perfectly seasoned with plenty of marinara sauce. Entrees come with a salad, which was very good, and just the right amount of dressing. We had shrimp scampi, and two specials. Specials were a very unique gnocchi dish called pumpkin spice gnocci (seasonal) and a 14 ounce pork chop. All dishes were really good. The gnocci dish was very interesting. Being a first-generation Italian-American, I know gnocchi. So I was initially suspect of the fused flavors. Much to my surprise it was quite good. All the flavors are blended perfectly with no single flavor overpowering. I never had cranberries with an gnocci dish before. Honestly, I would order this again. Especially if you want something different. Too bad it is a seasonal dish. For desert, I had a double espresso and a Rum Spiced Bread Pudding. Also very good. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience. You never get a second chance to make a first impression. I will return.

I went last night after touring some wineries with family & friends, this restaurant was recommended by a Bar tender & it did not disappoint. The service was extraordinary, the food was absolutely delicious! The portions are big and fairly priced, 3 family members had one of last nights seafood pasta special, my friends had the skirt steak special & chicken Alfredo tortellini, I had chicken Francese, since it was my Birthday dinner our waiter brought me Tiramisu🥳. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you're around this area, not only for the great service but the delicious food!

My mom brought me here for lunch as this used to be her favorite spot while growing up in Newburgh. It did not disappoint. The sauce is the best part. I got the Penne Alla Vodka and was incredibly impressed as this was one of the best that I have ever had. Used the garlic bread to dip in the sauce and was in heaven. It was absolutely amazing and I highly recommend bringing family and enjoying some classic Italian food.

I’ve lived in newburgh my whole life and I’ve always passed by this little restaurant on DuPont avenue and it was always busy but I had never been there till last night. Boy do I wish I stopped in much sooner! Absolutely amazing place they staff was welcoming and helpful both the hostess and the waitress were excellent. First my drink came out and it was very tasty and strong at the same time i don’t know how they did that but all you need is one and your feeling good. Next the mozzarella frites came out and they were perfect came out extra cheesy and you can tell it was excellent cheese they used. My steak came with a side of penne which was awesome both were eye pleasing and stomach pleasing. Decided to treat myself to a desert and I was not disappointed! That lava cake was everything you wanted it to be. Overall very pleased would recommend to everyone.

Went here last month for dinner, and our kids loved it. The last time I was here before was in high school around 1995. The way it looks now is amazing. The outside is of the restaurant was renovated nicely, the inside was spacious and not too crowded with tables. Went with the family again the other night and was not disappointed. I have to say that the staff here is super friendly and pleasant to talk to. Looks like we've found our go-to restaurant in orange County. The food was fantastic and delicious. I can't wait to taste their entire menu. Thank you, Vesuvio's. We can't wait to come back.

We took a large group for lunch after a family members funeral mass. They were very accommodating and had a large table for us, along with offering a great deal of flexibility for the reservation number. They were very patient and attentive to our table, allowing us to talk and support each other. The food was typical Italian, while not the best we’ve ever had, it was fine. The best thing was having a beautiful space to be able to talk and share stories. Appreciate the staff’s kindness and accommodation.

Always great food and a very friendly staff. This time, I ordered linguine with red clam sauce. The portion was generous enough paired with the price. The calamari was perfectly cooked, and the sauce had just enough kick to it. Their food is consistently very good. Always enjoy eating there. The food was also prepared in a timely manner. Not too fast, nor too slow.

Host, server and bussers were lovely...the food was meh...the bread is leftover from the Roosevelt Administration, the mussels and clams marinara were terrible-odd metallic taste, the red sauce had a sweet cheap jar quality and the Marsala contained zero Marsala wine, some kind of funky brown gravy...I never need to go back...I guess people in this area are starved for decent food and have forgotten what it tastes like...save your money

Valley Dweller North

Seafood should just be taken off of their menu completely. Proprietors act differently with particular guests. If a guest is a local politician or school district official, there is different treatment. The sauce is decent, but the bread is often stale. Extremely stingy with the butter, grated cheese, and salad dressings.

I own a restaurant pizzeria and I would never sever food like this!! Appetizers, baked clams were EXTREMELY DRY SALTY! Hot antipasto was cold . Bread was style. The list goes on tThe only thing that was good was my apple martini. Definitely will not be going back.8/30/2025
