Took advantage of this week OC restaurant week promotion so here we went. This is the second time to be back. The food was fresh and very high quality, executed perfectly and so delicious. The dish presentations were so beautiful like Michelin style. Thanks for offering without cutting corners and taking pride 🙏🫶.

This is my favorite go to sushi spot. Amazing service. Great menu. Fresh and delicious fish. My favorite menu items are the tempura crab claws, the toro nigiri and their handrolls. Eating at the sushi bar is the most fun because you can see their professionalism and expertise close up which is a great experience. A gem for Newport and Laguna!

This place is the best sushi restaurant in Orange County. It is located in the Crystal Cove Promenade shopping center. So fresh and exquisite. Every mouthful is so delectable. Must try and worth the drive. Enjoy the beautiful coastline. The sushi chefs here are the best. So friendly and they really take pride in what they do. The staff is attentive and fills your water without asking.

Save room for dessert, and order the mocchi ice cream! You will enjoy clean, fresh, authentic Japanese cuisine at Bluefin. Upon entrance, you will notice the cleanliness of the restaurant and the uniformed, professional sushi chefs. The staff were kind and polite, especially Gregory, allowing us to dine in at 8:30 pm even though they close at 9:00 pm during weekdays. Indoor/Outdoor/Bar seating: Plenty of seating at this location. We sat inside. Delicious Food: Clean, fresh and flavorful. Ordered the mushroom miso soup with shiitake mushroom, grilled salmon with grilled vegetable, teriyaki sauce, wagyu beef carpaccio with onions, chive, goma-soy dressing, sesame seed, albacore dynamite roll, salmon avocado roll, and mochi ice cream. Loved everything. Excellent Service: Gregory, Jason and Raymond were professional, kind and attentive during our dining experience and each interaction. Parking: Free parking in parking lot. Valet parking is also available but it is closer to Javier's, so free parking is the better option. I highly recommend this restaurant for a clean, fresh, authentic Japanese dining experience, and thank you, Gregory, Jason and Raymond for a memorable experience!

I live in Las Vegas. Any time I'm in Orange County, you'll find me here at least once. This is the finest sushi I've eaten. Period. Bluefin carpacio and crispy rice are in the pictures. The eel was too tempting to waste time on photos...lol

Was working in Newport Beach and decided to take a lunch break felt like some sushi. Found this place on yelp decided to try it. A bit on the pricey side but you get what you pay for especially when it comes to sushi. This sushi was so delicious so fresh. The presentation on the plate was perfect. The sushi itself was soft and buttery and texture and everything I ordered was just excellent. The atmosphere inside and outside was great. I decided to sit in the outside patio with ocean views. If you’re in Newport Beach and looking for delicious sushi spot this is the place

Such a chill atmosphere and not stuffy at all. We sat on the patio and they turned the heaters on as it cooled into the evening. Sushi, saki, and apps were all 5+ stars!

Got the Omikase lunch. It was many courses, tough to finish but it was all fantastic. Great patio, high quality sushi. Definitely coming again if I'm in the area.

Great place, beautiful view of ocean if you sit outside. The food is good and the service is great as their waiters are very nice. The only problem is their prices! I think most of their foods are little overpriced and could be less expensive even though the quality is good. We really liked their salmon and yellowtail belly sushi.

First off, they told us to choose sit inside or outside but said outside is warmer since inside they had door open with ac on. Kinda strange to have ac on in the winter especially when the open door is blowing in cold air so needless to say, it was not a warm dinner inside. But we didn’t want to sit outside either. Secondly, hot tea is $3. Ludicrous. I can understand $1 but the audacity to charge $3… Thirdly, the special rolls are so pricey at $35+. They were tasty but I know places that are equally delicious at $15. Fourth, nigiri sushi was good! No complaints here, fish was fresh and tasty. We ordered a second plate of nigiri. The fried dishes were so-so, the popcorn shrimp was fine but the fried fish stuff had too thick of a batter. Sautéed octopus was great and very well cooked. Overall, it’s a nice place in a nice area that charges a bit too much for good food but it is what it is. They gave us a cake for the birthday though. How nice!

Came here for restaurant week and was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the plating and variety of flavors in the dishes for an amazing $45 value. They showed a creativity in using unexpected traditional ingredients to create dishes outside of the typical sushi and sashimi. The sushi itself was pretty average but for the money it was an incredible deal and experience.

The sushi itself was pretty average but for the money it was an incredible deal and experience.

My experience at this restaurant was very disappointing. The service was poor, the staff were disrespectful, and there was no concern for customer comfort. My order took a long time, and when it arrived, it was not up to standard. Unfortunately, I will not be returning and I do not recommend this restaurant to others until the service and staffing improve.

I would definitely say the food is good service sucks people working there especially the host needs to get a new job and for a fact businesses like this need new administration and I hope one day there will be an accountability for people working in the businesses.

I really wanted to like Bluefin Sushi, but unfortunately it was a huge letdown. The sushi was poorly made, lacked freshness, and overall just tasted off. The rice was mushy, the fish had very little flavor, and the presentation didn’t help at all. Honestly, I’ve had better sushi from a grocery store—at least that’s consistent and doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not. For the price and the expectations that come with a sushi restaurant, this was extremely disappointing. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for quality sushi.
