Baja Sharkeez in Newport Beach is a lively spot known for its great atmosphere, strong drinks, and tasty Mexican food, especially the tacos and birria burrito. Customers love the friendly staff, beachside location, and bottomless chips and salsa.
Tip: Enjoy the bottomless chips and salsa. Happy hour is a great time to visit for drink specials.
Really nice place with great atmosphere and right next to the pier. Came by for lunch and had the cheesy birria quesadilla and the birria beef burrito. The food was fantastic and portions quite big with good pricing for the area. They have a chip "bar" with salsa, jalapenos, and cilantro onion mix. The chips were quite good too but salsa a bit too watery but had a good flavour nonetheless. You do have to order at the counter and prepay but they do bring the food to your table.
This is the ideal spot to grab a drink and hang out with the boys after a day on the beach. Right next to the pier, with awesome food and drink specials. Got a massive beer for only a dollar more on happy hour. I always enjoy a place with bottomless chips and salsa! The carne asada was greatly, with the salsa on the side, not splashed on top all messy. 10/10 recommend
Sharkeez at Newport Beach is a great place to watch football and enjoy great drinks and food. It's located right at the Pier and they have a Farmers Market on Sundays. Ryan and the the staff are amazing and would recommend coming here for a relaxing and fun time.
My favorite place to hit up when visiting Newport Beach! The beer is cold and the happy hour menu is legit. The parking can be tight, but the atmosphere is worth it.
Great atmosphere and even better food! I ordered shrimp tacos and a Happy Dad fruit punch. 10/10
I love coming to this place because it’s not only a great atmosphere but the place is so colorful so amazing. It’s a great place for a first date. I’m here with my date right now. The art is amazing over here the view to Newport Beach and also you have the old spaghetti factory right next-door then you have the stage bar right in front of you then you have the rockin Baja lobster also right in front of you plenty of parking if you come during the week but on the weekends, the parking can get a little hectic plenty of TVs to watch your sports, so you’ll never miss out on your sports any type of drinks and food do you want those vegetables and seafood that basically anybody desires is over here.
Love this place. Would recommend it to anyone if you can handle it. Drinks are always good. Food is always good. Atmosphere is always amazing. Everyone that works. There is always super friendly. Very accommodating to anyone that comes in right on the beach. Me and my wife come back as much as we can. She was born a block away and we live in Arizona so we make the trip because it's worth it.
Great service and amazing food. The chicken Flautas are some of the best I've ever had. Beautiful location facing the beach and perfect weather. Well definitely come back for more

Incredibly good! I usually go all in with my reviews, but sometimes less is more. We stopped here for lunch on a gloomy, cold, and cloudy day. The place was virtually empty, possibly due to the cold temps and open air seating. The atmosphere was chill, and the service was excellent. Let's talk food! Slamming, banging, and ridiculously good! Not your typical bar food. Mexican fare with a greasy flare. I loved every bite. Delicious!
Love this place. Great location, laid-back and friendly bartenders, and great food. We really like the free chips and salsa and open seating. Their birria burrito is the bomb!

The tacos were great! I had the mango fish tacos and my husband had the baja tacos. The mango salsa was great! We also ordered the smoky queso and chips. The queso was ok but didn't blow me away. We loved the atmosphere and vibe!

Tacos were very good. Atmosphere was nice. Fun little place to eat. Prices were just a tad high but,........had a shrimp taco, chicken taco and street corn. Definitely liked to shrimp taco over the chicken. Beers were cold and you get unlimited , serve yourself , chips and salsa.
7 YEARS AGO TO NOW PEOPLE AGREE THIS PLACE NEEDS NEW MANAGEMENT & WORKERS! HIRE NICE HELPFUL HAPPY HUMANS not LAZY UNHAPPY tenders. Food is absolutely amazing—5 stars for the cuisine! The atmosphere can be hit or miss, depending on who’s there. It often attracts a preppy crowd, which may not be everyone’s vibe. However, the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. The staff at the front and the bartenders seem disengaged—they often ignore customers, walk past without acknowledgment, and talk primarily among themselves. It feels like they’re more “chilling” than working. Friendly, attentive staff would make a huge difference. Some of the female staff can come across as snobby, and the male staff can seem arrogant as well. If the service improved, this place would be perfect. 10/10
It was my first time in Newport Beach. I decided to eat at Baja Sharkee, because I wanted something special for lunch with my friend. One of best places to eat in the State of California.

What a fun spot. It’s a bit deceiving at a glance. I wasn’t expecting the food to be good. I ordered the tacos, guacamole w/ chips. The flavors were delicious. My son ordered the steak skillet, and from I could tell it was good since he devoured it. Beer was cold, vibe was good and the salsa bar was a nice touch.
First time visit to Baja Sharkeez, Newport Beach. Stopped in for lunch while on vacation. Nice selection of food offerings, as well as drink offerings. This restaurant runs things a bit differently. They provide a menu, find yourself a table, then go up to the register/bar to place your order and pickup your drinks. They deliver the food to your table. Which wasn't a problem for us at all. We thought that was a good idea. The food was very good, had good flavor and was of decent portion size. Well presented on wood planks. Fish tacos, street tacos, burrito, kids boneless chicken bites, carne asada enchilada plate. Nice open air vibe at the restaurant and it's very near the Newport Beach Pier and beach.
Baja Sharkeez offers a solid beachside dining experience with a convenient location. While there are spots with more breathtaking ocean vistas, the views here are still decent, and you can't beat the proximity to the beach, pier, and local farmers market. It's a great spot to refuel after enjoying the area's activities. Be prepared for a casual setup: you'll grab a menu at the door, place your order at the bar, and then find your own seat. They apparently have a Bloody Mary bar on Saturdays and Sundays, which sounds like a fun option, though I didn't get to try it on my visit. A definite plus is the self-serve chips and salsa station – always appreciated! I ordered the birria quesadilla with a side of jalapeno crema sauce. The quesadilla, as you can see in the photo, was packed with flavor. It was on the greasier side, but that's often part of the delicious territory with birria. Overall, Baja Sharkeez is a decent place to grab a flavorful bite and fill your tank, especially if you're already in the Newport Beach area. Just remember it's more of a self-serve vibe, so don't go in expecting traditional table service. A good option for a casual meal with a laid-back atmosphere.
We stopped in after renting bikes. It has a fun atmosphere and very friendly staff. We liked the complimentary chips and salsa. I did not love the tacos, but we liked the Fajita Salad. Ask for the dressing on the side as it was a bit heavy but great salad. My daughter ordered a burrito that was good. I would recommend it

Love this place. Just got there too late to enjoy the food as the kitchen was closed. I did however enjoy a nice white shark margarita.

Guy name john John. Guy chase us away when we're have recommended people here to the bar for many years. There are workers who back up the workers regardless. I think its wrong. Reg, base on our experience with ewonr come anymore because of that. Rhino. He was cool. Dont matter if owner if ceo give rules. He was cool
I visited your club on Saturday, February 9th around 3–4 PM with three friends. We came to the bar to order drinks. None of us were drunk in fact, this was going to be our first drink of the day, and we were completely respectful. When the bartender came to take our order, I politely said that I would like four Vodka Red Bulls. Before I could even finish my sentence, she interrupted me in a very rude and aggressive tone and said: “You need to say PLEASE so I can bring your drink, otherwise I won’t serve you.” I was honestly shocked by the way she spoke to me. I had not been disrespectful in any way. Despite feeling uncomfortable, I still said “please, thank you.” Her name was (ALANA) After that, she brought our drinks, but her behavior remained unprofessional. She grabbed my bank card out of my hand without asking for permission, which I found extremely inappropriate and disrespectful. I believe this is not the correct way to treat customers. We were calm, sober, and respectful, and there was absolutely no reason for us to be treated this way. The entire interaction felt very disrespectful and left me feeling upset and uncomfortable. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because customer service and basic respect should always come first
