Tasty chicken wings, discounts on Wednesdays, drinks are great 👍 and dance floor is fun on the weekends!
Best chicken fingers in the surrounding area! Shit ton of sauce choices and staff is are really nice. I wish parking was better but that isn't their fault, in fact, it's worth the walk if need be!
Dwyers is and always will be that great bar that is nothing but class. Bartenders polite, funny, interactive, fun.service and food- top notch. Wings are top shelf!
Always good service and great wings. Also had the Caesar wrap...great choice. All food is delicious
Lots of choices on menu. I had a burger last time (HUGE)....was going to try a wrap but asked waitress to change to WINGS - they were awesome. No complaints!
Took their Guinness Burger for a test drive... It worked well. Also enjoyed their sweet potato 🥔 fries. Their mixer with my tall double Bacardi & coke... wasn't near Coke or Pepsi. But hay its an Irish bar... My wife's Pepsi she said was flat... and the Sprite replacing it was off just a bit. Her wrap was 👍 good enough to bring the other half home for lunch tomorrow.
After a day on the boat we decided to pop over to NT and find a place to eat. It was a beautiful Saturday evening and everywhere was super busy. Since we did not have a reservation a few places couldn’t even seat us that evening. It was a bit of a wait here too but there was a band so we decided to come to JP Dwyer’s. The restaurant is pretty big. Lots of tables inside and they can accommodate groups. They have a large outdoor patio as well with a good amount of seating. It’s definitely a historic building and divey kind of bar. First of all the service was not good. It took a long time to get menus, waters and finally drinks. Trying to get refills was even harder. Once we were able to order the food took a ridiculous amount of time. We waited well over an hour. We ordered very standard bar type food. The server barely came back to check on us. People who came after us got their food before us. We asked the server about the food status at one point and she said it wasn’t ready and she would check. 15 minutes later the food came. Some was hot and fresh. Other items were cold, one item was not edible. I understand it’s busy and places are understaffed but we would have rather gotten the food as it was cooked so people could eat their food hot. It didn’t seem like the server cared much or was paying attention to when the food was up. My pizza logs were hot and tasty. The sweet potato fries were cold. I did love that they were shoestring and still very crispy. They would have been even better hot. My significant other had the steak sandwich and he said it was fine. Other friends had the wings and said they were very good. Another friend had a burger which came out burnt, like had black char on one side. It was really obvious and the kitchen should have caught this and not sent it out. It took so long to get our food we ended up having to drive the boat home in the dark. Not a great situation. Seems we came on a bad night. We did enjoy the band and people watching. If you come to NT in the summer on a weekend make a reservation for the place you really want to go to avoid this kind of thing.
Out of all the pubs in North Tonawanda this is definitely the most welcoming and accommodating. The outdoor patio offers a bowl of water to all those with paws. The burgers are always cooked perfectly and are so large I can guarantee you won't be able to finish it. The steak sandwich is my favorite. The staff is attentive and personable; Alyssa is excellent, remembering us and our order each time.
Dwyer's is great to have a drink with friends after dinner at a nearby restaurant or a show at the Riviera next door. The bartenders were great! I could've done without the "DJ" playing Rihanna songs over and over (Seriously?! There's plenty of early 2000s hits out there, buddy). I miss patio season, and Dwyer's has a great patio with a huge fire pit and live music during the summer.
Excellent chicken wings and pub food. Super busy during concerts next door at the Riviera theater so plan accordingly. Get there at least an hour and a half early if you want to make a show at the Riviera. Last time I went a friend of mine waited over an hour to be served food and he actually got there before us???
Food is great, the wait staff hustles but there is not enough of them. They could use new tables and stools for outside. The outdoor bar stools are falling apart, and the ones that aren't are very uncomfortable. Their choice of live bands are great. Just saw Buster Knuckles for their Dwyer's debut. They rocked the house. Dwyer's was unprepared for the crowd that they drew. Not enough employees working.
Supporting local businesses is important to us. We often visit these smaller establishments for our little dates. We brought the kids today. We ordered wings, appetizers and drinks. The wings were cooked perfectly. The garlic Parmesan wings were not good at all though. (Picture attached) they just covered them in grated Parmesan cheese. The medium wings, General tso wings, soft pretzels and mozzarella sticks were great. Our server... we ordered appetizers which came out with the wings. My son ordered a root beer, which I believe you should let the customer know it's in a bottle, not fountain. And there was an extra charge not disclosed on the check. Also, she never mentioned any specials. But, she told the people behind us all about them. And had we heard them before eating our food, we would have ordered them. In conclusion, if you go, the wings really were good with the exception of the garlic Parmesan ones. Get wings. And just ask questions of the server since she may not be very friendly. Also, cash only which is also not disclosed.
I had the steak sandwich with chips. It was a good size and good. My husband got the fish, which came with potato chips, 4 hush puppies, mango coleslaw slaw; mangoes were mushy, & tarter sauce for $19.99. It should of come with French fries for that price. The waitress look at me and asked if i was okay with the chips or did i want to pay extra for fries, i said no but she never asked my husband. So, you would think his would come with french fries. She did ask him if he wanted silverware, duh, yes!! She brought PLASTIC. I'm sorry be we are not at a picnic, we are at a restaurant. I have never seen this before. We had 2 beers, the bill was $61, crazy for what we got. We have been going here for years and it has gone down hill. It's sad!! First of all, finish the painting on the walls, change to regular silverware, pay attention to the quality of food and how it is presented, have the waitresses take the customer to the table; not give them the menus and have them seat themselves, make the best waitress train the other ones and watch them. If the owner is trying to save money , it doesn't take a lot to change a few things. We used to wait over an hour to get into this place, not anymore.
I've been to Dwyer's several times over the last few years, and I really get the sense that their quality is slipping. When I went for dinner the other day with my partner, we were seated in their outside patio area and found that our table had half-dried ketchup and crumbs on it. Drinks came out, and the wait time for that was alright. On the patio, there are often people smoking, even when children are present. On the night we were there, there was a family with loud children who were sprinting around the patio and yelling, throwing things, and spilling food on the ground without cleaning up after themselves. We ordered food and the server brought a carrier to the table with ketchup, mustard, vinegar, etc. The bottles (especially the ketchup) were absolutely coated in ketchup and other condiments that hadn't been wiped off, and I used 2 wet naps and 2 napkins just cleaning the ketchup off enough to hold without getting my hands dirty. My partner had water with his food, and found that it tasted plasticky and there were little particles floating in the it, so he requested a fresh one with no ice and told the waitress about the issue. She brought a fresh water with no ice, but with just as many particles floating it it. We originally thought the problem was with their ice machine not being cleaned, but clearly there must be an issue with their water lines. I get the sense that food prices have gone up here in the last few years as well. When I first went to Dwyer's several years ago, it was priced competitively enough to be a no-brainer for a cheap night out. My draft beer was ~$7-8, and our food was also fairly expensive. There are other restaurants in the area that feel considerably cleaner and are cheaper or comparable in price. When the waitress brought our check, the price listed on it was incorrect, as two extra orders of food had been mistakenly added. She corrected it and apologized, and we were fine with that, but I'm glad we made sure to check the bill before paying. I don't generally write reviews, and I like most restaurants I go to. Dwyer's has always been, at least for us, a chill dive bar we could go and have an affordable dinner and drink at. Their slipping hygiene standards and increasing prices have killed any interest we have in returning, but I hope they address these issues for the sake of their other customers.
When we arrived, the bartender immediately came up to us and start questioning us and saying we were there on a separate occasion a few days before. She accused us of getting drunk and ruining the bathroom. It was my first time there and needless to say I won’t be coming back. Terrible attitude and service, would not recommend.
If I could give the place a zero I would. First and last time there. Ordered our food an hour and a half later they came and told us our food hadn’t even been started yet. Apparently there was grill problems with that being said I understand things happen but why would you wait to tell a customer that there was issues an hour and a half later, we had to leave we had tickets to a show. If they would have said something prior we could have tried to eat somewhere else. Very disappointing
Absolutely HORRIBLE! 1 1/2 wait for food. Fish fry was frozen, not fresh. Supposed to be a 12oz hamburger but was a tiny little burger inside a giant bun. Took 3 attempts asking for a waitress ( and 45 minutes) before we got anyone to come to our table to take drink orders and only half the table were filled so not busy. Just horrible place and with so many good restaurants nearby we won’t come back. We decided to try Dwyer’s Irish Pub but NEVER again!
