This is the first time in 2 years that we have ordered from you because it had gotten so bad. So we decided to order dinner delivery today, it was absolutely outstanding. The Pane’s Parm was excellent & enough for 2 meals for me. My husband had the bow tie pasta with chicken and said his was very good. We will definitely order again.
Happy Mothers day! Was a great experience going to Pane's in which I have not been to since my grade school days back in The Gilmore years. But walking in with no Reservations on mother's day and them finding me and my family a place to sit I have officially found my Italian restaurant of choice . With a full menu a great bar. Friendly employees to boot! Not a better restaurant that I have been to in a long time.
Classic Italian American fare at a long-established restaurant. I had the Grilled Chicken Ravioli. The cheese ravioli and sauce was excellent, and the chicken was good though unspectacular. Another person in my party had the Shrimp Portofino, with shrimp prepared almost perfectly in a nice bed of pasta with a generous serving of pine nuts. I will have that on one of my next visits. The Mediterranean Pasta was another solid entree in their menu. Thirty years ago their pizza was the best in town, so I would like to taste how that rates now. There were many dishes of 'as being enjoyed by other groups the night of my recent visit. And though this is an old establishment, they recently invested in a renovation adding a small amount of outdoor seating and lots of glass to bring outdoor light into what had been a dark west dining room. It was busy, not overly loud, and with good wait service. We drove 15 miles out of our way to go there, and it was worth it.
We order from here all the time and everything is always amazing! Tonight I ordered rigatoni Parmesan and they forgot my salad. My husband called not only did they bring the salad, but they brought some cannolis along with the salad. Very classy thing to do. I didn’t even care if they forgot the salad. It was not a big deal, but they made it right. There’s a reason why your business is always booming.❤️❤️❤️ I think the only reason my husband called is because he knows how much I love their salad and their Italian dressing😃😃😃😃 not to mention the best open Reuben sandwich ever!!!!!!
Fabulous place for a family gathering or with friends too! Delicious food and always a great experience! Definitely Kimmy-Sue Tested and Approved 💋🇺🇲👠👠🎉As it's truly a WNY favorite!
I went there for a funeral lunch. The banquet hall was perfect. Everyone was very accommodating and friendly. The food was excellent.
I've only been here twice. Both times were in their banquet rooms for special occasions. I cannot say anything bad about my experience either time. The food provided was delicious and plentiful. The servers I've encountered have all been great. If I ever need to book a banquet room myself, I know this is where I'll do it
I had the shrimp scampi pasta and it was fabulous. Perfectly done, perfectly tasty, perfectly filling. Add to it a nice Chardonnay and you got a perfect meal.
French Onion Soup was awesome! Cheese sticks were large! The company was great! The atmosphere allowed for conversations! Thank you!
Once again Panes has come through with excellent food for our 4th of July party. The menu was a big hit featuring pulled pork, Italian sausage with peppers and onions, baked beans, corn, Italian pasta salad and a beverage. Everything was terrific and it made my life so much easier to enjoy the day. Thank you I will definitely use Panes catering for all my events!
We had a birthday party in the Family room. The service was wonderful. The food was amazing. Italian meatballs, chicken wings, and Italian sausage with peppers and onions for starters, done buffet style. Limited party menus which was still quite extensive and had something for everyone. Kids pizzas took a long time and didn't arrive to table until everyone was done eating but they were fed off other plates so not a disaster. Everyone had a fantastic time. It was expensive but totally worth it to get a blended, combined family dinner and memories to last a lifetime.
Went for dinner on October 24, 2021 with 6 people. We all had something different to eat from Italian to chicken wings, open faced Rueben to seafood. The food was delicious and the service excellent. They have an awesome selection on their menu to choose from. Prices were good. I’ll definitely be going back. Sorry I didn’t take any pictures.
I will be honest and say that I read other reviews online before meeting up with my girlfriends for dinner. The reviews I saw were not good and my hopes were not high. However, I found Pane's to be wonderful. From the minute we arrived, the staff was welcoming and attentive. Shortly after ordering drinks, I had a terrible allergic reaction to something which caused my asthma to start acting up. A server thought it could be her essential oil but we weren't sure if it was a cleaner they were using. The staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. The server washed off the oil so I wouldn't react, if it was the problem, and the staff moved us to a table further away from the cleaners they were using. Our server, Leah, was friendly, efficient and very helpful. The food was amazing. I had the chicken wing soup which was thick, delicious and not too spicy. Three of our group had the veal parm. 2 ate every bit but I had quite a bit to take home. It was tender, tasty and well worth it. Everyone else had some other type of Italian or Mediterranean dish and raved about them. I cannot say enough as to how wonderful the service and the food were. Ignore any negative reviews you may have read. I will definitely be back to Pane's and highly recommend it to anyone!
We celebrated our 50th anniversary in the large banquet room with family & friends. The room was beautiful, the food was served family style and was served hot and absolutely delicious, especially the chicken parm. The servers were attentive, friendly and polite. We had a few guests with special dietary needs and they couldn't rave enough about their meals. Liz, the banquet coordinator, was wonderful to work with. She returned my calls and e-mails quickly. I would definitely recommend Pane's for any special occasion parties.
Loved my greek pasta but my husband wasn't a fan of their alfredo at all. Been here many times though & will be back but likeky not for alfredo.
Bread was awesome. Drink was good. Baked potatoes was amazing. As so was the fish, chicken tenders were huge. Little bit pricey. Was glad to have a 25.00 gift certificate.
I've never eaten here but I had the fish fry for take out last week. It's AMAZING! The whole deal was one of the best I've had. I had to get it again! 🤤 I just might get it next week too. 🤷😆 And the bread...👌 Excellent!
Went for a birthday party! Great prices! Great service! Just a bit cramped on a busy day. Food was decent. Not impressed but honestly better than most family restaurants as of lately. Great accommodations for celebrating the birthday.
We enjoyed a meal there last night. Our meals were lukewarm, so we had to send them back. They made us all fresh dishes instead of just reheating the original ones. The meal was delicious and our server was excellent! Also, the hostess (owner?) was extremely apologetic and courteous.
Great dinner! Our server Michelle was the sweetest! So attentive and very helpful. There was something missing on my burger and the manager took it off our bill gladly and gave me a free dessert. Super nice people and would definitely go again
I ordered the Chicken Parm family meal for my daughter's birthday dinner. Oh my God it was amazing! It was piping hot when I picked it up, the portions were huge and everything was delicious. Staff are so friendly and nice. Pane's never disappoints!
I had my daughter's baby shower here. From beginning to end Liz and her crew are amazing! They are extremely friendly and accommodating. The food is delicious, the atmosphere was beautiful, the service was friendly and affordable. It was a pleasure doing business with Pane's and would recommend to anyone looking for a venue.
It was a party of 7 and dinner was excellent. Had a amazing father's day experience. Everyone enjoyed their food.
Went to celebrate my aunt and uncle's 50th!! Banquet room was nice and had bathroom and bar in close proximity. Food was tasty and in large amounts so 2nds were available if needed/wanted. They were short staffed but it did not impact the service we received.
Grilled Chicken Bow Tie special: Decadent Fusion! Juicy Grilled Chicken is married with a smooth Asiago cream sauce. The fresh Roma tomatoes with the salty notes of bacon elevate this meal to the highest level. Definitely returning for a repeat dish, or adventuring to a new taste experience. Family and professional atmosphere. Thank you Pane Family
Went for a work meeting/ party and they did a great job
Great pizza and wings, not bad price. Would come here again. Great service and nice staff would recommend to any friends, restaurant is nicely designed and food came quickly. Faster than any other restaurant I have eaten at And very quiet dining area which is great, pizza cheese was a little to thin causing it to get all over kinda but that is 💯% fine enjoyed it. Also Jim pane is a great boss/owner, also Liz. W restaurant 💪💪💪👏👏
Liz is always amazing to work with. We just had our 2nd family party there and the food and atmosphere never disappoint
Was there for a baptism party. We had about 20 people and ordered off the menu. Great variety of food offered. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Our server was excellent. She was very friendly and well organized.
I've been coming here since I was little and absolutely love it. Went the other night for dinner and we ordered pizza and chicken fingers. The pizza is one of my favorites in the area and the chicken fingers are delicious (onus thay they are huge compared to anywhere else) The French fries that they have are really good too. I would recommend anyone go here. Always know it's going to be good when you go.
Great place, food was delicious, service was awesome.
My family was in town spending Christmas Eve with my mom and left the cooking to Panes Restaurant , and what a great decision this was. We ordered the family meal for 10. The food arrived on time, was still hot, delicious, and plenty of it! The delivery staff was also friendly and professional. We were able to enjoy our meal together without all the work. My sisters and I often take our mom to Panes for lunch when we're in town, and also celebrated her 80th birthday in the banquet facility a few years back, and we have always had great service in the restaurant as well. We will definitely be back. Thank you!
Booked Pane's to cater our Wedding. The food was amazing didn't disappoint at all. Everyone absolutely loved the beef on weck and the chicken parm! It's a must try if you haven't!
Great place for gatherings after funerals , reunions , anniversaries and birthdays . Been there for different events and never disappoints
Pane’s is amazing and went above and beyond to remediate a mishap recently! I ordered an eggplant parm dinner and a side quart of sauce. The dinner came with a side chef salad but when I opened my sealed to go bag my salad was missing. I called the restaurant right away, not only did they have my missing salad delivered within less than 15 min of calling but they compensated by offering gift certificates for future visits. Amazing experience and will definitely be back :) Also, the meal was nothing short of spectacular!
We had Panes cater for a funeral. Liz was great to work with and the food was plentiful and delicious. Step up was a breeze and we would not hesitate to use Panes in the future. Thanks again!
We had a private party at Panes. Food was delicious and the staff was so kind and attentive. The communication leading up to the party was so great and helpful in the planning of the party. Will definitely have parties there in the future.
7/2025 Food was very good, I had the pasta plate The gnocchi was very filling, lasagna was excellent, Lots of gathering going on that we were in a tight room. Pokemon go friendly
First time for me as I was invited by a friend for dinner. Disappointed that we could not get the "empty booth" we wanted. However, the food was great and we will surely return. Jennifer was our server and we hope to have her again and rest assured, she is the best. Many thanks from MG/PB.
Great food, nice atmosphere. My wife wasn't happy with what she ordered, and they graciously agreed to substitute it with something else. Awesome customer service!
I had my mom's Surprise 90th Birthday Party at Panes Restaurant. I worked with Liz who coordinated the Party. The staff, and the food were exceptional. Anything that I needed was taken care of cheerfully. They always made sure that the Buffet was well stocked. Highly recommended for parties 🥳
Always a great place to eat. the French onion soup, nobody can beat it! The Fisherman's platter was excellent! The Open Reuben sandwich as well! The Chicken caprese! The Steak sandwich as well! I feel like they upped their game with their french fries too! The ambience is really nice and relaxing!
Nice selection of options for medium sized group. Would have liked pop and coffee option, without doubling drink cost.
Excellent restaurant. The food is delicious, well plated and portion size is good. Service was phenomenal. The lady waiting our table was super attentive and friendly. Atmosphere was very nice. Restaurant is clean, the ambient music is nice and you can have a nice conversation without having to speak up. Great place. Stuffed pepper ravioli was amazing. Also, lots of parking.
The service was spot on and you could not have had this kind of service at the White House. Great job Vickie!!! The food was exceptional and so was price, and th e final bill¡ if you are visiting from out of town and want exceptional food, a good price, great service and a great menu even for young adults with fun relaxed atmosphere in beautiful dining room, PANES RESTAURANT in North Tonawanda is the place to go!
When i used to live in north tonawanda this was the best place for food hands down hope soon too take road trip with wife and enjoy again panes amazing food again
First time dining here and had a nice experience overall. Our entrees were delicious, the bread is fantastic and the service was friendly. My only complaint is that the menu doesn't list the five cheeses that the peppers are stuffed with and one of them is a blue or gorgonzola, which was overpowering.
Mozzarella Sticks are good! Very filling as they seem hand battered. Unique in a good way. Nice wine list available. Portion sizes are good.
Their servers were so great for my dad’s 75th birthday party tonight. He’s been coming here since he was a kid and so have I. The best bread in town! And the food is delicious, I love the meatballs and cannolis
We used Pane’s to cater a private party and the experience couldn’t have been better. From the initial order to the delivery to serving the food was so easy and the amount of food was fabulous for the price. Everything was hot and fresh. Thanks for making our party special 😁
Pane's is a great place to eat. They have a huge menu with unique food items. This time I had their fish fry, which was excellent and I also ordered their French onion meatballs. They were awesome. I had Lambrusco wine with my dinner. It was delicious and chilled. I was too full for dessert but they had some good looking ones on the menu. The prices are good too.
This is a great little staple in North Tonawanda. The food and service is always consistently wonderful. While we mostly get take out from here, the restaurant has a lovely little outside dining area, especially on the wonderful weather days.
We had a small gathering here after a memorial service. Pane's banquet menu is limited but the offerings are tasty. It was nice that we were each able to order individually and not all have to eat the same entree. The service was great as well.
Panes never disappoints and today was no exception! We had our daughters bridal shower at Panes and everything was fantastic! The food was delicious! Also I can't say enough about our server. She was on top of everything, did a great job, and did it alone! Thank you Panes for making our event so special!
I've grown up with Pane's Restaurant over the past four decades and have never been disappointed with anything I've ordered. Always great tasting Italian food at very reasonable prices. They also offer chicken wings and make a great pizza. The restaurant is always very clean and the waite staff is very attentive to your every want or need. Bathrooms are clean and well stocked. Never a bad experience.
Food was good and service was great. Not at all happy with the table we were seated at especially since I made a reservation. I don't understand why the 4 of us were seated at a very small table squished back to back with another table of 4 and a very large table of at least 10 or more. We couldn't hear each other talk at our table given that the large table was so loud and right on top of us. Why would Pane's seat all of us so darn close together? As we left the restaurant I noticed the other tables were larger and the areas much quieter. We may go here again but I would emphasize to please give us some space around our table! I was so disappointed at the seating arrangements. No one should be crammed into the space as we were. This is not a cheap diner.
Great food, nice atmosphere. We went at a good time as not jam packed. I like a cosy feel with quiet when I wish to eat and relax and talk with a friend. I do however NOT like when told where I have to sit. I want to choose that myself. Also, the waiter, not seasoned yet as he called my client and I guys...."how are you guys today# ? Everything that was said to us was 'you guys'. NOT proper in treatment of customers who by obvious eyesight, we are women, and grandmother's to boot. He did NOT get a tip. He was also too interested in hurrying. Then refilled our drinks with out our asking as then we were charged more than we chose. Otherwise I can't complainant the restaurant itself. The help needs help and retraining on proper edicate.
Very nice, fancy establishment. We came here in between our family members funeral viewings. I got a Caesar salad which was excellent and a bowl of French onion soup. Waiter was very nice. The only thing was I am a huge french onion soup fan and it's probably on the lowest part of the scale taste wise. Service was great and my salad was also actually. Would go again.
Pane's provides great meals along with the friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere. With two nice fish tanks to look at and lighting that allows you to see each other but not get blinded. Staff is always friendly as well. I my self personally like the shrimp scampi but there are plenty of other great dishes to pick from. Burgers, pizza, salads, sandwiches, and pasta. I am pretty confident that almost anyone can find a dish they will enjoy.
Great food! Everything was delicious. Between the four of us, we all ordered different entrees. Each of us was very impressed was our choice. Can't wait to go back and try another entree from their extensive menu. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, but we found them to be a bit understaffed, like many other hospitality and service related businesses at this time.
Good Italian food. We enjoy the chicken parm and Italian bread. Service is quick. There is a big lot in the back of the restaurant off the side street. The only thing is that there is no easy way to go to the banquet rooms . You have to follow the sidewalk past the take- out door and restaurant dining room door and go around the corner to enter from Payne Ave. This can be a long walk for elderly folks.
The breakfast buffet was tasty and plentiful. The Mimosas were a bit too sweet. Very nice, classy set-up inside. The owners MUST fix up the outside decor. That's where the 4 stars comes in.
My first visit to this iconic North Tonawanda staple, my 85-year-old father told me he used to walk here for pizza with his friends after roller skating on Oliver Steet. This had to be back in the mid-1950’s! We had a lovely meal- generous portions, all prepared well with quality ingredients. Service was excellent with experienced, attentive staff. Overall a positive experience that I look forward to repeating with my parents!
I had a small 70th birthday dinners for my brother. And when i called in to make reservation, the owners daughter said we sing and the birthday person gets a choice of pie or cake. So I picked Cannoli cake. I got the bill didnt looked until i went in the car. I was charge for the cake 10.50 plus tax! They never mention to me about any charges.
Food blah ,service they need to hire a person at lunch time. Atmosphere out dated drab dusty dull . Oh and over priced
My parents used to bring us for pizza once a month throughout the 70s and 80s. Best pizza in WNY. Ate there last night, and the pizza has changed. Not sure if it’s the sauce or cheese, but not the same. Went a year ago. Good. Still tasted the same. Not anymore, which is sad.
Made a reservation for 8. When we arrived, there was no one at the hostess stand, and we stood there for a good 5 - 10 minutes before being seated. Mind you, it was a 2pm reservation, so it was not busy. The server was very nice but not knowledgeable or attentive. The food was good, so that was at least the saving grace.
Frys Cold. Wings No sauce after I ask for xtra sauce sent back for it. Husband's Seafood Platter Fish was terrible he ate the scallops and shrimp tho. Waiter never came back to see if we needed another drink.
Ordered fish fry, salad and dessert. Was given wrong salad dressing. I asked for Cesar was given ranch. Could of given more fries was given a child's portion. Salad had two pieces of cucumber and onion and one olive. Fish was great. Bread was amazing. Ordered delivery no napkins or utensils. Canolli was very good.
Servers are sweet and place is nice however they no longer make their raviolis homemade and kept them the same price and they are 70% noodle and then 30% cheese. Portions have also gotten so much smaller our spaghetti looked like children’s meal. ;(
Had to wait for a table. She told us we were first on the list but didn't put us on the list!!! then said she didn't get our name so we weren't first anymore. Had to wait about 40 minutes after initially being told 15 minutes. My chicken broccoli alfredo was excellent. My friend ordered chicken marsala. Tasted like brown gravy with mushrooms tossed in. Black cherry sangria were awesome.
I don't leave reviews often but this spaghetti dinner last night was $22 bucks and the meatball cost $5.00. it had absolutely no flavor at all. Tasted like wet noodles. Wasn't peppery, spicy, sweet, odd, etc. Just had no flavor at all, it was bland. Never tasted a spaghetti with sauce that didn't have spices, seasoning or anything to flavor it. For that price it should have been one of the best I've had. Best part of the meal was the butter packet and bread
I got there about 10 minutes before my friend. Ordered a drink. Never got it. My friend came and ordered a drink and got it in 5 minutes with the waitress walking away. Had to wait until she came back to ask about my drink. She forgot to put the order in. Got it 10 minutes later and it was awful tasting. Sent it back and got something different. That was awful too. Both mixed drinks not made properly. Waitress blamed it on a new bartender. Waited 20 minutes for bread. Waitress blamed that on an extremely slow oven. We waited about 30 minutes for our entree which came at the same time as the 10 person table next to us who were seated after us. She obviously put our order in with theirs. I did have the broccoli and cheese soup which was delicious and the fisherman's platter which was good. Food was good. Service was lousy and drinks were awful. Will not be returning.
Food quality has fallen off. French onion soup was bland. Veal cutlet was over cooked and much smaller portion than in the past. Pasta was extremely bland as well. Food took extremely long time for an early dinner with a nearly empty dining room. Bathroom is dirty and in rough shape. Front dining area needs major work. Pretty disappointed in overall experience. Server was nice.
Been here many times over the years but not in about 2 years as I don't live in NY. We went on a Saturday around 6pm and it wasn't crowded. Service was very slow but not bad. Server was friendly. The French onion soup is still top notch. Some of the best there is. The chicken parm however was not good at all. I was very disappointed to say the least. My wife's chicken fingers were also not good at all according to her. Not sure if it is the breading or what but it just was not good. Not sure we'll be returning, and that's very sad as it was one of our favorite places.
Our party of 6 dined on Friday, 12/8. Waiter was very personable. However when our entrees arrived, one of the orders was wrong. It took over 15 mins for the correct order to be brought to our table. By then the others in our party were finished with our entrees. It was a bit uncomfortable for him to eat with all of us being done. Then he was charged full price for his dinner. He requested a side of sauce and was charged for it. Somehow that just doesn’t seem a proper response from your establishment. Some type of jester should have been extended. That was just very poor business etiquette.
Always like this restaurant but it is going down hill fast. We ordered chicken parm and cheese ravioli did not get any bread so I asked for it. I was told the bread was in the oven. When he brought it out after we ate the bread was very cold. Was not in the oven like he said. Never was asked if I wanted a refill on my drink so went without. Don't think we're going to go there again. I couldn't believe he lied about the bread. Also the outside is falling apart there are broken pillars everywhere front and back and the inside was very dirty for a restaurant. Above us the ceiling was missing. It looks like they are running it into the ground before they fold
My husband was so excited to take us to this restaurant. He grew up eating there with his family. Unfortunately, we were all disappointed! My husband’s lasagna was cold, my daughter’s burger was frozen in the middle, restrooms were filthy, my seltzer water tasted gross, and restaurant overall was dusty and dirty. We spent almost $200 including tip. We will never eat there again.
Service was fine, except it took 45 minutes to get our appetizer, both dinners could have been a lot better. The chicken breast that they provide does NOT seem like real chicken (very abnormal texture and stringy) and the pasta made a family member of mine sick later that evening. Panes restaurant used to be stellar
Our waitress never brought us water. Had to ask. And when it did come, no ice. She proceeded to take our food order without asking if we wanted drinks. We got our entrées without our salad. Did not receive our appetizer before entrees. Food was cold. She said she was having a bad day. That is not our concern. She still has to do her job. Bathroom was unkept, dirty and out of soap. Panes has been going downhill as far as customer service for years. I hate to say this, but this the last time I’ll be going. I’ve discussed this with other people and they agree. It seems to be a declining restaurant for many years.
Food was decent but the entire front of building going into the banquet area smelled of sewage. I walk my dog by there and its been on ongoing smell for months now.
Less then impressed, the bathroom doors are broken and the place looks run down, the prices are ridiculous for the low quality food, got the seafood Alfredo and it tasted completely frozen with mushy noodles, it was $4 for a small bowl of jarred pasta sauce to dip bread in. The server was friendly but the hostess with the black hair kept giving us a dirty look and didn’t wash her hands after using the bathroom. I’ll opt for Olive Garden
The server was good. No complaints there. The food. Mediocre at best. Nothing to rave about. Over priced for what you receive. Meatballs were absolutely awful. French onion soup, disappointed ☹️. Over all this place is going down bill and needs work.
Food was below mediocre. Had a salad with fruit in it, the lettuce tasted frozen, 2 walnuts in it and I think one strawberry cut up for whole salad. The goat cheese tasted rancid. Cheese tray consisted of large pieces of what seemed to be a block of Velveeta cut up, jo crackers. People at table had a baked potato that looked grey and roast beef was deli meat on a plate. Bathrooms very dirty. Only highlight was the exceptional service from the young male server. Very polite and courteous.
UPDATE: despite their response and me sending them my information, I have still received no phone call. Absolutely horrible customer service and the food about matches that. Ordered delivery on a simple large pizza tonight. We were told that we could expect it 30 minutes later. The pizza finally showed up almost 2 hours after placing the order. The top of the box was completely caved in and when we opened the box all of the cheese came off the top stuck to lid. Unsurprisingly it was ice cold and it wasn’t even cooked through, still raw dough under the sauce. I called and spoke to the man answering the phone (who was very nice) and he told me a manager would have to call back (unsurprising that I never received a call back). This is the second time this has happened to us. Never again. Would not recommend take out or delivery to anyone.
I took my grandparents out to eat here, NEVER AGAIN! While we waited on our food all we could hear was either a manger or employee screaming at other employees, very disrespectful. The silverware and bowls weren’t washed correctly, I had to ask for 2 different spoons to get a clean one. very disappointed. I’ve been coming for years but after countless encounters like this I’m not coming back and i recommend you don’t either.
Was 12 of us food cold, wrong orders, the poor waitress we felt sorry for her they needed more help. Onion soup had tomatoes base in it . Sauce was scarce on dishes had to ask for more their chef needs to step it up .Their bread was the best part .
Birthday brunch for 7 for my daughter on Wednesday 11/22. It was her idea because she always wanted to eat there. I should have stuck to my instincts. They're known for their Italian food but my bride ordered a steak, I was in the mood for a steak sandwich. Her steak came over cooked. My steak and cheese sub came to the table Cold and dry and had nooooo flavor. I was very underwhelmed. Cannot say that I would ever recommend eating there. On the positive side, our server was courteous and attentive to any of our needs and requests. The atmosphere was pleasant and comfortable. Shame the food was such a disappointment.
Charged me an extra $18 (without me even knowing) because I asked for a side of pasta for my appetizer (thinking it’d be $5-$10) then proceeded to give me the most disgusting, slimy, greasy plate of store-bought pasta soaked in butter (yep that’s right! No sauce) Also there were multiple tables of children screaming all around and a wait staff that was obviously spread too thin. This place has gone so downhill since the original owners have been gone.
With reservations once a month for four monthly meetings for 23 ladies, we were crammed into a tiny side room with barely any space to get seated. We had ONE waitress each time (poor thing). The food was served so slowly that the last meals were being served an hour after the first. Some people were served as we were leaving. We gave them four months. The ladies room was filthy with one broken faucet the whole 4 months; lights over tables were covered in dust and spider webs. Paynes used to be THE place to go. Never again.
I used to come here anytime. I was in town visiting family, including recently. While the French onion soup is still the best I've ever had. Everything else has just gone South. The chicken parm was horrible and my wife chicken fingers also were not good according to her. Such a shame as this used to be one of my staples but I will not be returning
Food is good but management needs some serious help. As a manager myself, I feel I know how to treat my employees but, they are very rude to their staff - no one needs to be treated like they treat them. It’s unacceptable. I could hear the argument between the owners about a staff member. Poor management
Go in to pick up food and the way the older gentleman was screaming, swearing and degrading the women, female and male teenagers in the kitchen was disgusting. Come to find out it was the owner and he is known for this. No wonder why the food is so inconsistent. I can’t see how this guy can keep a staff.
Decent atmosphere, table my party was seated at was extremely narrow and easily crowded, as well as being awkwardly high up. Felt like a bar table in the midst of a supposedly higher class Italian restaurant. Bathroom was disgusting, located next to the registers for the takeout section of the restaurant, and the inside was cramped beyond belief. The toilet seat was crusted over with a substance I can’t even begin to describe. The complementary bread was quite good all things considered, but that’s about where the good things end. I ordered the chicken and broccoli Alfredo, and I was severely disappointed. My food was delayed around 7 minutes after the rest of my table was served, and upon arrival, I found that my chicken was still half frozen. The waitress at the very least was good at acting like she was sorry, and brought it back to the kitchen. Not 2 minutes later, my food was returned to me, presumably fresh out of their high class microwave. The noodles were somehow still undercooked and lacking in flavor as a blonde white woman’s music taste. Another member of my table ordered a steak and banana pepper sandwich, which ended up lacking in steak. The 2-3 chunks of steak per sandwich (I use chunks generously) were very undercooked and barely room temperature. Do not waste your time and money on such a sorry excuse for an Italian establishment. Honestly, though I hate to say it, Olive Garden is a more authentic Italian experience than this, and I know for a fact that they freeze all of their food.
Called to order a pizza & wings for pick up. There was a man yelling in the background and swearing. The young lady had to ask me to repeat my order at a couple points. After she took my info I realized that the man was swearing and degrading a woman that was an employee. I asked the young lady is that a manager or owner. She told me it was the owner, unbelievable!!! I have been a manager and also worked with some impatient/disrespectful people in my years working (50 years in the workforce). When I arrived to pick up my order the owner was still yelling and carrying on. Treating people with dignity and respect goes a long way in creating a business where people want to come to work and where customers want to come to eat! Spend your hard earned money somewhere else at least until the current owner sells, goes out of business or retires. I am one and done, will never go back.
