Love this place! Plenty of tasty options on the menu, and a great atmosphere. Service is great, and Alexis took great care of us. As the Terminator would say, “I’ll be back.”
We love this place! We try to visit a couple times a week, and always when Shana is behind the bar! She remembers our drinks, knows our appetizers and everything is always just as we order. This is our idea of a neighborhood bar, we visit with whoever is sitting next to us, always a great crowd! Tonight was especially busy because of a car show in town, and Shana and the rest of the staff we interacted with never let you realize how busy they were, just the usual delicious drinks, food and perfect service! We recommend it to family and neighbors, who join us frequently. Great staff, great drinks, and food. If you haven’t tried it, you are missing out!!
This is definitely the spot to be. Their service is great and the food is amazing. Plenty of tv’s around with sports playing to keep you entertained. The drinks are my favorite part, their bar keeper Shana is Incredible, what a pro, diligent and giving energetic effort.
Backporch is the epitome of your favorite local bar! Between the food and drinks you won’t be disappointed. Shana is so welcoming and never misses a detail! So happy to have found this place! Will be coming back soon!
I live right next door to back porch and this is the absolute best bar to get a burger and a beer at. Shana at the bar is so friendly and it feels like she actually wants to have a conversation with you and makes you feel at a home. Absolutely recommend this place!
My wife and I came in tonight and the bartender was absolutely amazing. She did an awesome job and took great care of us! She is definitely our favorite bartender and recommend going in for her.
Six stars, y’all! These people know sandwiches! Just the right amount of every ingredient. We all sampled each other’s burgers and sandwiches (chicken philly, club, and T-BAM) and swore we would come back to order what our neighbors ordered because one measley bite was not enough to properly enjoy the deliciousness. And we did, even though we live 20 minutes away and have no other reason for visiting this area. Your sandwich or burger comes with homemade fries or chips, and the fries here are my favorite in all of DFW. The T-BAM (turkey) sandwich is flawless, and is quickly becoming the family favorite. I plan to come here the next time I’m in the mood for a cheeseburger. Someone at another table ordered one; the melted cheese dripping down the patty looked amazing, and I saw the look on his face when he took his first bite. You know how once in a blue moon you find a restaurant where the chef clearly knows food so well that you would try absolutely anything on the menu just to see what they’ve created? This is one of those places for me. I can’t wait to order some of the appetizers, too. (Giant soft pretzel with IPA cheese!) I also love the look of the inside of this place. Fun, clean, and inviting. Service was impeccable. The staff was attentive and had no problem handling my in-laws’ many, many modification requests (add this, remove that, double grill the onions). Good kids menu, too. They also do brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Happy hour (half price domestics) is Monday-Friday 2-6pm. This is my #1 food recommendation of the year.
Service was great! Food and beer were good… we had the garlic Parmesan wings… messy but delicious. We split the French dip sandwich… also very tasty!
We stopped here on our first night in Destin. It was super busy — we waited about 45 minutes, but we didn’t mind since we got to enjoy the sunset outside. When we were finally seated, they gave us a corner table on the second floor overlooking the beach, and honestly, that view was one of the highlights of our trip. I ordered the stuffed shrimp, and OMG — so good! Perfectly cooked, flavorful, and the stuffing had just the right amount of seasoning. I was tempted to lick the plate. My husband got the shrimp tacos, and he said they were amazing — fresh, flavorful, and the kind of meal you think about the next day. Our waiter seemed a little tired, like he was counting the minutes till closing. The small talk felt a bit forced, but he was polite and got the job done. We were given the wrong appetizer at first, but they fixed it without any hassle. Overall, the food and the view made it a great experience — definitely better than Fudpuckers!
This place? Absolutely hitting. We came looking for good food, good drinks, and maybe a little peace—and we left full, buzzed, and deeply in love with a burger. Let’s start with the real MVP: Strawberry Dreams from Three Wide Brewing. Fruity, crisp, slightly tart but never too sweet—like a flirty summer fling in a pint glass. I’d fight someone for the last one. Honestly, I might have. Now to the food. The jalapeño popper burger deserves a moment of silence and a standing ovation. Those halogens (YES, halogen-level hot perfection) were roasted just right—no raw heat, no bitter bite. And the popper filling? Cream cheese bliss with a side of “why don’t all burgers come like this?” It was messy in the best way. I ate the leftovers cold the next morning like a feral queen and it still tasted like destiny. The Mother Porker was my husband’s pick—he’s a BBQ sandwich loyalist, and he gave it a solid 7/10. Said the touch of slaw was exactly what he was craving, but it didn’t blow his boots off. Still, he didn’t share a single bite, so do with that what you will. We both got the fries—crispy, salted just right, no regrets. Not a single soggy disappointment in sight. Now, honest moment: the bartenders? Always look slightly inconvenienced by your existence. You might get a side-eye or the vibes of someone mid-existential crisis. Not rude, just spiritually unavailable. But the drinks are strong, the food is fire, and if you can overlook the “don’t talk to me” energy, it’s so worth it. We’re locals. We keep coming back. Because the kitchen? Is doing the Lord’s work
Stopped here after shopping at the outlets and we enjoyed it. The best thing was the mac and cheese bites! We ordered 2 orders so good. Service was okay but multiple people waited on us so made up for it. When we asked our server for advice on choosing between two things she just told us to get the special that we had no interest in. Drinks were good!
Already visited twice this week! The burgers are delicious, the beer is cold and the staff are super friendly and attentive! Highly recommend the Kraken burger or the jalapeno patty melt. My nephew had the Nashville hot sliders and I stole a bite of those, pretty amazing! I am pretty critical of my Nashville hot chicken, and although they weren't "Nashville" they were some of the best around here. Will continue to come back and try new things, give this place a shot, you won't be disappointed!
Great food, great bar and the staff were all helpful. Honestly had a really good food experience I wasn't expecting at a place I would consider an after work bar kind of place. The chips and salsa and queso were surprisingly good. The brisket sandwich was excellent and I also tried the Alabama white BBQ sauce on the side. I'd have to say it is a must try.
Food was awesome. On the other hand service was not to be desired. We had four adults and 4 kids. Our server was obviously put off by the fact that there was kids at the table. Granted we did have a spill, but the server didn't offer another drink. He sat there without a drink until we walked to the bar and asked for another, that was after we got our food. We had a salad and no silverware. We got that for ourselves. We saw our server only for times. The greet, order (after being there for 20 minutes) 10 minute check after we got our food and payment.
The food was good, although the fries seemed small and maybe not home-made but rather from frozen. The pulled pork sandwich, burger and Club sandwich were all good. The drinks were reasonably priced and tasty. Waitress had to be reminded a couple of times to bring different items. She spent a lot of time chatting at the bar which may have affected her memory. Overall, a nice place for the time of day, 2-4pm. I'm sure it's even more fun in the evening.
Wish they had bottomless chips and salsa like chilis. But honestly it’s a good serving size for 2-3 ppl but there’s 4 of us. You get a small cup of great salsa and 1 small cup of queso. No cheese on the side salad, instead it has carrots and tomato’s which I thought was different. The Baja fish tacos aren’t real great. Burgers and sandwiches were great! Wasn’t packed so food came fairly quick.
The food and the manger great! Top tier the servers, not at all. I believe they think they are there to just be seen. There is no reason for them to believe that. Our waitress started off wrong with us. So upon entry we saw no one actually working in the restaurant just plenty of patrons so we stood there a little too long to me because I was dialing the restaurant when the person who reluctantly seated us approached. So with much disdain she sat us then disappeared. Approximately 8 mins later she came back and said so I'll be your server..ugh is what I thought and I wasn't wrong. So she took the order and left. We didn't have silverware or napkins etc so when the manager I believe brought it out he asked if we had silverware and I said we sure do not. Waitress still a ghost. He remedied that situation but. We had to flag her down for refills. So after I got my plate and it was wrong well she was still avoiding us like the plague so I flagged down a different server and politely asked her to find our waitress. Do you think she did that? Nope. So the manager returns and I tell him my order isn't correct and he also remedies that situation. This is why I said the servers think they are for show. Any we tipped despite her not earning it and left. The food is really good so if we do return I'll try to avoid both of the show servers. Also we had the brisket grilled cheese and the French dip. Excellent.
First off, our waitress walked up to the table and just stood there. I had to speak first. She didn't warm up until she saw that tip; non deserving, by the way, but I'm very merciful. Other than that, the wrap was good and so were the fries but they could have been hotter. All the food was lukewarm. The restaurant is nice and clean. Despite the minor issues, I could possibly be back if I'm in the area.
The ladies that work there are so sweet and welcoming however….. The food is super expensive. When you are paying almost $20 for a burger you would expect the sides to be included but if you want any good sides you pay an extra $2-5 for it. My husband got a Bacon lettuce avocado tomato sandwich, they forgot the avocado and we payed $3.75 for chips and queso and the queso size was TINY! Like a sauce container sample size. Also we didn’t receive one of our sides we paid an extra $2 for. PLUS the fried mushrooms are $10 and you get maybe 10 pieces. The food tastes meh and for the prices you expect it to be way better!
After reading reviews online and viewing some photos we decided to go have dinner there after traveling. Unfortunately, the reviews and photos are Not accurate. I'm not sure what happened in the kitchen but the food was very bland, prices were much to high for quantity/quality, and we were very underwhelmed. Could've been fed and happier at Chick-fil-a. For example the requested non-alcoholic version of a drink cost the same as an alcohol containing, make that make since, most places charge soda prices for such requests for the DD. The DP for my daughter came with Hair and had to be replaced. The alcoholic beverage was perfect, can't complain there. Our server was so sweet, very attentive and genuinely seemed upset for us. Can't honestly say we'll be returning. Of the food we ordered, nothing would have me running back to try them again. I'd go for drinks and music, and that's it.
Worst experience at a bar in recent years. Arrived today at 5:00 and there was no bartender to be found. Four groups around the bar with empty drinks. Finally a gal in a sweater with nose ring arrives. First takes care of service well before acknowledging anyone at the bar. Finally serves one group at bar then service well rings again. Still does not say hello to us who have been waiting about 10 minutes. Goes back to service well before acknowledging anyone. We left seriously disappointed and gave our $$$ to another bar. Someone needs to let this faux-bartender know how to provide the customer experience and realize that service well gives her about 5% and bar guests she keeps 95%. Never have I been so disappointed. Opinions provided by ex Friday’s trainer and restaurant manger.
Bartender is serving drinks and being hostess. Very slow at making drinks and even pouring a beer. When we got drinks cups were dirty. Took 30 minutes to even get menus to order food. And don’t bother ordering food through delivery the will forget things and management is very poor at customer resolution.
