Everything was delicious and the staff was really nice! We had the jumbo shrimp cocktail, the Belgian Caesar salad, the Stuffed Avocado salad, the Lil Guy pizza, the Diavola pizza, and the Quattro Formaggio pizza. It was all delicious, but the Lil Guy was my absolute favorite. I'll definitely be back!
Upbeat music complements friendly service and delicious food. Lots of vegetarian options for both pizza and non-pizza. Sit outside if weather permits. Try the Cauliflower!!! Try the Mediterranean Pizza!!! Parking costs $$, so bring your ParkMobile app (or park on the side streets and walk to the courtyard).
Amazing pizza - like an in between of colony and traditional neopolitan style crust & very fresh toppings. Extremely fairly priced also. Went in the winter but the outdoor area looks awesome for warm weather
Killlller stuffed avocado with crab. Light and healthy with lots of flavor. Pizza are delicious 💥 Diego goes above and beyond to make customers happy and always makes us feel welcome. For dessert The Tiramisu is highly recommended ;)
Amazing meal and Jaylin made a great sangria!! Coming from NYC the taste was right there but the prices followed but don’t let that stop you as this place is very underrated and should be packed to the brim to get in! Amazing flavor and service. The Belgian Cesar salad is attached but the pizza was gone before I could get a pic!
We love this place! The pizza is really good and they’re very generous with the basil which is much appreciated. The atmosphere is nice and chill. We especially love the bartenders who always make us feel welcome. Magic 5 pie has definitely become one of our go to spots. :) thank you!
Staff is Awesome. The bar tender, DJ, is one of the most genuine people I’ve met! Other Staff; John, Meg, Ashley, Wyatt and manager, Charlie, all take great care of me as I am a usual customer. Pizza is great and the White Cran is even better!!!
We are first timers. Had a wonderful dinner experience. Isaac who helped guide us through our choices is what every restaurant should have as their spokesperson. Thank you
Great options and gluten free ones. We have tried several pies like buffalo chicken, potatoe, margarita and the pepperoni hot oil. All not disappointing at all. Nice place to sit outdoors too
Best pizza in town by far! The chefs of this restaurant really know how to make the PERFECT pizza! My husband and I love the Lil Guy, The Bruce and The Potato Pie. A must try place!
Best New Haven style pizza, easily overshadows some of the famous ones. Friendly owners and staff, beautiful building with outside seating, and amazing specialty pizzas (with the option to build your own). A must try.
Hidden gem in Norwalk. Pizza is amazing and reminds me of the pizza I had in Napoli Italy. Of course Napoli is Napoli but Magic 5 Pie is pretty close.
Good food and great service!
Acoustics are way too loud. 5 stars for the flavors, but can't imagine returning unless they quiet it down a bit. Will miss the delicious pies and scrumptious kale salad.
Great atmosphere ! The pizza and salads are really good !! I love the raw oysters . They're fresh and they provide different choices . Staff is terrific . Charlie , the daytime bartender , is the best !
good fancy pizza. if you have a hot date this is the pizza place to go in Norwalk. The bartender skill is above average and the owners seem to be involved in quality control... i go here at least once a week its good
Loved it! Along with our wine, we started with a salad w/ baby greens, green apples, raw carrots and fennel, sliced almonds and a sesame peanut dressing. Excellent. We got two pizzas: a "Lil Guy" (tomato, hot oil, mozz, truffle honey (not overpowering, and we held the pepperoni) and a "Potato Pie" (fontina, potatoes, caramelized onions, chives, and we held the bacon). The menu has many more offerings we're excited to try. Also, shout out to their somewhat small, but very well curated wine menu. It's a large, black industrial design with huge windows on two walls and local street-influenced art on the other two walls. Huge bar in front of their open kitchen. Overall, I really enjoyed the vibe of the place...I felt like I was somewhere else while still keeping true to the eclectic vibrancy of Norwalk. Most importantly, the people are super friendly, vibrant and warm. Will definitely come again and will probably become regulars!
For people who love pizza- Hop off at East Norwalk, grab a cocktail, de-stress, have an appetizer, walk out with an outstanding pizza, and grab the next train home. If you’re looking for a snobby place - this is not that vibe. You can order at SliceLife when you leave Grand Central, have a moment, pick up, and catch the next train.
This place is awesome!!! Great food, great vibe, and the staff are all very friendly. When you come in, be sure to ask for Jalen. This guy goes out of his way to make sure his customers are taken care of, whether it’s your first time at Magic 5 or you’re a regular.
Party of 4. 1 pizza + 1 salad was ideal for 2 people. Tomato pie and potato pie were delicious. Loved the thin crusts. Attentive service. We'll be back!
The drinks are great (I love the “One Last Ride”) and the “Lil Guy” might be one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. Highly recommend!
Great spot for a night out. Good pizza and other apps. Good selection of drinks and the outdoor seating on a nice night its fantastic.
Our new hot favorite in Norwalk. Extremely delicious pizzas, and tastes just as good even the next day with a quick pop in the oven
Hidden beauty. Beautiful clean & rustic outdoor and indoor set up. High ceilings and lighting make space feel open and spacious. Lovely setting for small group gatherings. Music was a bit loud for my taste. Staff were welcoming and attentive. Food was fresh and tasty! Recommend The Bourdain 😋 Definitely would go back and take others with me.
I loved the pizza here! We got three different ones and the hot oil pepperoni was my favorite. Service was great; we came late in the evening and they made sure to get to us right away. Would recommend!
Seriously my favorite pizza of all time - absolutely heavenly and the crust is PERFECTION and doesn't make you feel like you have a rock in your tummy afterward like some pizza does. Salads, desserts & cocktails are also delicious and I haven't tried the raw bar but friends and family love it. Atmosphere is festive and the staff always friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this place for both takeout & eat-in!
Went for lunch on a Sunday with my wife and infant. Was happy to see that much of the outside area was in the shade (around noon). This made sitting outside way more attractive. We made our own pizza and it was delicious. The stuffed avocado from the salad menu could have used more avocado. Drinks were good and the server was helpful. Drinks are a bit expensive (beers around 8/9 and up). I liked the space a lot and hope to go back again!
Definitely one of the best if not the best pizza in Norwalk, and that's saying a lot. The margherita pizza and hot oil pizza were so delicious, we didn't want to stop eating it. The vibe there is great too. Very upscale, but comfortable and family/pet friendly. Can't wait to go back!
Happily surprised by this at the time, unknown pizza restaurant. Have consistently found that their freshly prepared pizza. The whole pie was prepared with live, both the pie & crust delicious. We were blown away by the Clam Pie, Cheese Pie and Sausage & Onion Pie. Their Salads are also a treat, especially enjoy the Wedge of Lettuce with Homemade Dressing. Highly recommend trying this Terrific Pizza spot.
I was with some of my favorite people in the world. The weather was flawless. The service was spot on! They were out of Tanqueray so needed to settle for Bombay Sapphire and my first g&t was truly off but was replaced asap. The fancy cocktail, sangria and rose were all wonderful. Started with the shrimp cocktail! Love the shaved ice and the sauce was not out of a jar. Fresh horseradish flavor! Now I have loved a Hawaiian pizza my whole life and I have gotten boundless amounts of flack for this love and magic five brings that pineapple and ham love to a new level with the Pastor pizza. Simply awesome. Hot oil crunch was also on point! And so was the three cheese/four cheese minus Gorgonzola! The cauliflower salad stole the show with red peeper hummus, pomegranate, sliced almonds! Could have eaten the whole thing and just called it a night! Last the tiramisu was the best I have had in a long time. So magic five gets five stars for a fantastic night! Cheers!
The Magic 5 is Open Tuesday through Sunday, Closed on Monday. This was our first time coming here and we really enjoyed our time here. The Manager and staff are Great. We had the Margherita Pizza and it was Magical. This place has a really great atmosphere. I must say the service was incredible We ordered our drinks and we ordered our pizza and soon enough our pizza was already on our table. As we've tried many margarita pizza this fit right in with the authentic classic margarita flavored pizza We really enjoyed it Thank you guys.
Pizza was amazing, the “gluten friendly” crust is also very refreshing because it is very well executed here, (these options are usually so processed feeling at other places) so it is a perfect option if you have dietary restrictions or just want a perfect thin crust, definitely worth the $3 up charge. Got 2 desserts and they were both a 5/5… New York cheesecake in Norwalk???? So glad I don’t have to drive to NYC to get an awesome rendition, the strawberry compote was excellent and the best tiramisu that I or my wife has had in a very long time. Staff is a 10/5, everyone working today was so nice and we are definitely coming back in person for awesome food and the very cool atmosphere. Don’t drive to New Haven, come here because the food is on par and traffic in CT is horrible on a good day! SoNo beers on draft too, love it!!
Best pizza in Norwalk. Not quite Neapolitan, not quite NY or Connecticut style. If I’m getting pizza in Norwalk it’s likely from here.
Pizza was super good! Cool bar to sit at with icy cold brews and great service to boot. Belgian Caesar salad was tremendous!!! Cant wait to come back.
Gluten friendly pies are very good. You can order a traditional pizza but they have a dozen specialty pies that you can’t get anywhere else. Also they have a very good selection of appetizers and salads for the folks that don’t want the pies. We had dinner on a Thursday and there was live music and she had a great voice and acoustic guitar !
Terrific, large space with a lively atmosphere to enjoy pizza, drinks, and music. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The pizza has the makings of being very good - need to improve the dough. Great salads! A definite plus to the area.
Food was ordinary not extraordinary. Wings were good. Pie was ok. We tried the potato pie, but the potatoes were not cooked thoroughly. Service was good, but the chairs were not comfortable.
Great pizza!
Pizza was really good. Service a little slow to start, but turned out fine. Server could not offer any insight to the beers on the menu; and the one I ordered, they did not have.
Best pizza in norwalk but had a disappointing experience with the white sauce one
Delicious thin but chewy pizza. Fresh toppings. The potato on the potato oie was still a bit raw,but still delicious. Full of bacon! Cocktails were yummy too.
The pizza is very good however I would prefer a little more well done a la Frank Pepe however I would recommend this place for the live music and atmosphere. Young lady bartender was absolutely fantastic and at the top of her game very attentive to the customer unlike the previous guy they had last year who was not very good and thus I am posting this positive review. The onion crunch pizza is very good!
3 times now sat at the bar with an order to go and had to reheat my pizza when I got home because my pizza sat in front of where it was made for 15-20 mins while the bartender had no clue it was done, and would rather check his phone over and over then to have the knowledge to realize that pizzas shouldn’t take an hour to be done. Just after steady comments of are you serious that it’s taking this long with two tables in the restaurant they decide to go and see oh this may be the pizza that my customer is waiting for. Common sense doesn’t exist in this restaurant, if you want fresh warm pizza, this is not the place, cold pizza from a 5 mins drive home from pick up.
Wedge salad 2 stars: flavorless bacon bits (should use real bacon crumbs); stringy thin-cut lettuce (NOT a wedge); the blue cheese dressing is about as good as shelf-stable supermarket brands. The magic artisan salad was better. But why use such an acidic apple like granny smith if the sauce is already pretty acidic and very, very generously dressed? The pizza, our primary objective, was underwhelming: Too spongy, not really thin nor thick crust, cheese did not taste rich and creamy at all, the “hot” sausage was a weird orange color but neither tasty nor spicy. Mushrooms were fresh and plentiful, which was nice. Overall we were pretty disappointed. Decided to go try another pizza place instead of finishing (took home half the pie. Maybe it’ll be better cold tomorrow, or reheating it later would actually improve it.). Re-reading my review, maybe i should give it 2 stars…
Good, even very good, pizza, but not quite the caliber of the great Connecticut pizza parlors. The outer crust lacked airiness. The server seemed absentminded. Pretty loud bar-like atmosphere in that SoNo-East Norwalk 20s-30s singles crowd kind of way. Major miss: they have neither birch beer, root beer, nor cream soda.
My friends were seated before us, and when we arrived, no one checked on us for about 20 minutes. When the waiter finally showed, we asked for menus. This took 5 minutes to just give us our menus. Then the waiter disappeared for another 10 minutes before he took our order. When he finally showed up, he spoke so softly, I could barely hear him. Food took 1 hour to show up after ordering. Didn't see or hear the waiter at all after the food came. Another waitress came by to see if we needed boxes and to get us our bill. We showed up for dinner at 7pm, didn't get our food till about 8:15pm, and didn't leave till 9:30pm. Ridiculous service.
I’ve been to magic pie before and loved it. This past time we ordered a BYOB which we have done in the past. They charged us 40 dollars for a pizza, even though their menu states it’s 1.50 and 2.50 for meat toppings. I called to clarify they just said that’s the prices are 4.50 and 6.50 for toppings, Informed them that’s not what the website says. I was told there was nothing they can do and I should order from the specialty pies next time. I’m not sure how a specialty with all the same toppings is half the price than BYOB. Disappointed as I enjoyed magic pie and their pork belly bites slap. Please adjust your menu prices as this dupes people. Attached photo with menu shown as “updated 1 day ago”
We have been here several times during warm weather where we sat outside- great experiences! The last two dinners we had here, inside, were awful experiences. It is cold inside, we ate with our jackets on. Our Brussels sprouts app was bacon and few sprouts. The arugula salad was mostly red onions and a watery dressing, and the pizza was soggy. Our server attempted to provide good service, but clearly was not trained. My husband opened our bottle of wine because she was unable. I’d say this is more of a warm weather restaurant- we will wait until then and try again- hopefully will be a better experience.
I had high hopes for this place, having moved to East Norwalk from Philadelphia. The kale salad was 100% Brussels sprouts. It was like eating a pint of them straight out of a blender. The arugula and prosciutto pizza was cold and hard with the arugula and prosciutto falling off before I could get it to my mouth. I ended up eating the toppings as a salad and left the pizza uneaten. The waitress was kind enough to discount the meal by 25%. She was the best thing they had going at this restaurant.
The poor service made it difficult to judge the food, since the pizza took more than an hour to be served. We had to walk to the bar a few times for our drinks since the servers were hard to track down. The best part of the evening was the entertainment, The Clams.
