What a fabulous place! All of the staff were SUPER lovely and helpful with choosing cocktails. The menu is so varied, there is truely something for everyone and they are brilliant value. We tried a few and they were all delicious. Lovely cosy, chilled out bar. Will absolutely be back - lots!
Always a fun place for a cocktail. The DIY element adds a novel touch. Their Norwich Cocktail week signature drink was a Coleman's mustard and pickle juice cocktail. I had to try it and can honestly say I'm glad it's not going to be a regular thing. Happily the Tipsy Jar house cocktail we had next was as delicious as ever......
Brilliant place, young lady who served us the cocktails was really knowledgeable and recommended based upon our tastes. When they came…. Possibly the best I’ve seen and I’ve travelled a lot. Mine came along in a screw top jar and had smoke billowing around the top. Once stirred and poured into the glass it was a delight.
Helpful and lovely staff. Drinks amazing- even non alcoholic cocktail was amazing
This is a favourite spot for both myself and my girlfriend. There is a great range of unique drinks and the themed menus are always on point. The atmosphere is always chill and a good place to catch up with friends. The jars are all around £12-14 and this will cover two cocktails drinks. The staff are always lovely, the services is swift and the staff have good knowledge of the cocktails.
A fab place to go with friends for drinks with a difference. Lots of different options to choose from. The waitresses were really helpful and welcoming. We were presented our drinks on a tray and each given cool shakers to mix and pour our drinks... just a clever novelty and we really enjoyed making our own drinks! Would definitely go back, but would recommend to book ahead!
Not only the best cocktail bar in Norwich, but the best the city has ever had IMHO! Interesting and delicious cocktails made with high quality ingredients, served in style and £12 for 2 all day every day. It's top quality and permanently happy hour in a comfortable central location. My recommendation is skip dessert and head straight here after dinner.
Such a lovely cocktail bar! the waitresses were so helpful and accommodating. The drinks were 10/10, will definitely be back 😍
Popped in here on Saturday night and ended up chatting with one of the employees who actually ended up being the owner! What an amazing little place! Absolutely gorgeous drinks and the lady who owns the place was running around getting really involved! The staff were amazing and being able to shake our own cocktails was great! 10/10 recommend! Thank you so much for making our night!
Easily one of our favourite bars in Norwich in a great location. The selection of cocktails is very impressive and we really like the shared element (buying one cocktail for 2 people to share). Our favourite was the blackberry margarita!
Brilliant drinks, great prices, friendly atmosphere. Really enjoyed the process of making drinks ourselves, overwhelmed with a big menu of amazing tasting drinks. Music was low enough that you could carry conversations and still enjoy yourself. Great for small to medium-sized groups. Definitely coming back here.
Had a lovely visit yesterday. Staff were great. We hadn’t visited Norwich for a few years and had been here before. Went back for a repeat of their after-eight cocktail. It had left the menu but the staff found the recipe and made it for us. Amazing service. Thanks
I visited Tipsy jar at the weekend and I absolutely loved it! The drinks are so nice and at a really good price. Nice atmosphere and really friendly & helpful staff. When they bring over your cocktails they tell you what everything is, how long to shake your cocktail for and how to assemble it. Cannot fault, will be coming back here for sure ☺️
Friendly and fun cocktail bar which also has beers and wines. Spread over two levels and super busy when we were there. The cocktails seemed pricy but it turns out you get a jar of cocktail which gives you enough for two cocktails at least. My cocktail came in a jar with a strainer, a cocktail glass, and an edible rice paper logo to put on the top of the drink. Not your standard cocktails but a great choice of interesting flavours. Our server was very friendly and helpful. Service was quick considering how busy they were. The bar is between a fork in two roads. Not well signposted and on the one road you might not realise you are standing right next to it. Good place for a fun night out.
Such a fun concept been here a few times over summer and ordered the at home cocktails in covid. The jar for 2 cocktails makes its so affordable as well and it’s so fun to do with friends or as a date idea. The fact the menu changes regularly is great as well and the secret mentions word search is another fun touch. Staff clearly know what they’re talking about and can make amazing recommendations depending on what type of cocktails you like. Decor is lovely as well. Only criticism is I wish it was open day times on Sundays and earlier in the day on weekdays or Fridays!
Had a ice cream style cocktail. The drink was based on a 99 with a flake. The drink was amazing. We were sat down at the far end of the bar. A waiter did not approach us for around 10 minutes and seem confused when I walkwd towards the bar to order a drink. The drink arrived very quickly. The atmosphere was quiet despite being quite busy. It was a nice place to relax and have a few drinks. It was between £16-19 for a "jar" which was 2 drinks.
Cocktails are excellent and the table service is a great idea. You can relax and enjoy your evening!
Wow .simply wow. Book early for the table.. decor stunning and staff amazing
I have been to Tipsy Jar a fair few times since it’s opening in October 2021, it is easily one of my favourite bars in Norwich. The bar is always busy and the atmosphere is great! You get two cocktails in a jar for £12, £6 a cocktail is such good value for money. The menu is varied and the staff are so good at offering recommendations.
Wonderful cocktails here, and edible sand too! The place is lovely and we've been a few times, usually on a Friday or a Saturday and although they are busy, Zelda always looks after us brilliantly and makes us feel very welcome :) Zelda also makes amazing cocktails :):):)
I ordered 3 different cocktails for my husbands birthday and I can't rate Tipsy Jar highly enough. The cocktails arrived on time, easy to prepare & delicious... definitely not watered down! I have already recommended to all my friends.
I ordered some Tipsy Jar cocktails as a birthday surprise for my neighbour. Because of lockdown we couldn't go out and celebrate so I thought we'd bring the party to us. The cocktails were DIVINE and up there with the best I've ever tasted. Classy presentation with all the garnishes and even ice included. All we had to do was shake & pour. My neighbour loved them too and thought it was a fab idea. We can't wait to work our way through the delicious looking Christmas menu.
Great atmosphere with delicious cocktails served in a quirky jam jar. Shake it up yourself and enjoy with friends. Reasonably priced given you have at least two cocktails in each jar.
Not only are the cocktails presented in such unique and fun ways, they're some of the best tasting I've ever had! The staff couldn't be any nicer and friendlier and with such a warming atmosphere it's somewhere you'd want to go again and again and again
I used Tipsy Jar recently and ordered the Bramble Twist and it was so much better than any cocktail I’ve ever had from a bar. We have since tried several more and they are all superb. Such an awesome, unique experience at home and the value for money is great, including all the trimmings. They really don’t scrimp on the booze either! Cannot wait to use them for parties in the future!
Really friendly little cocktail bar in the centre of Norwich. Cocktails come in the iconic Tipsy Jar jars and you shake them yourself with ice. Exciting and inventive flavours, a good and friendly atmosphere and comfortable surroundings. Brilliant!
Stumbled on this little jem by chance, wandering the city before our meal looking for somewhere quirky to get some great cocktails. Neither of us had wandered the paths of many, for a very long time. Having been turned away from the first venue ,due to too many people at the bar ( But it's January, i say there's lots of people out for January). It's nice... Anyway, back to the stumble. Walked in and stood froze for a while as the front of house asked if we'd booked I asked if it was OK to just come in for a drink. Of course, she said it's a cocktail bar!.. Table for 2? Please... Follow me... Downstairs, we were taken into a cosy norfolk brick red walked cellar. A polite young lady took our order and came back with the jars and other ingredients and gave an explanation of how to shake, and pour each different cocktail. Relaxed atmosphere, Friendly, polite, staff. A well recommended bar to go
Massive thanks to tipsy jar for saving my bacon. I stupidly thought I'd be able to place an order the day before my fianceès birthday only to find out I was wrong and they were fully booked up. I contacted them using their online form, they replied very quickly and after a few messages had been exchanged they kindly agreed to fit my order in for the next day, saving me from the dog house. The cocktails themself were very enjoyable and easy to make up, I would definitely recommend.
Hi just popped in on an off chance they had a spare table. Yes we were lucky. Amazing cocktails and atmosphere. Would definitely recommend. Great fun 😁
A lockdown success story, this cocktail bar in the city centre boasts an impressive selection of delicious and original cocktails in a relaxed setting with great table service.
Seriously good cocktails. We had the Fineapple, and it was glorious. Instructions were easy to follow and they had truly thought of everything, right down to the pineapple leaf. The perfect way to enjoy cocktail bar worthy (or even slightly better!) cocktails at home. Wil definitely be using again.
We only had cocktails, but they were GREAT! 2 for 1 also, fabulous!
Popped into the Tipsy Jar for the first time and I've never been so impressed with a cocktail bar! The selection is genuinely unique and not repetitive like all other cocktail bars. Lovely aesthetic and I can see why it's so popular! But I want to mention our server, Kat especially. I have never come across a server with so much charm and personality and I've worked hospitality for 13 years! She honestly made our night out that extra bit special and we will 100% be back for a second round! 10/10, Top tier! Xx
Really high quality, unique, very reasonably priced cocktails. The place is such a lovely venue with really nice decor. Nice quirks like a secret menu, shaking your own cocktails and adding the nicest garnishes all make this place such a great experience. The staff are all so friendly and informative. Norwich has needed a bar like this, highly recommend!
I don't think they sell food but the cocktails are excellent.
Rolled up at 4pm on a Friday for happy hour. @ £4.50 a pint, it would be rude not too. - fantastic pub, good beer, wonderful bar ladies, really interesting little underground seating area. Only slight downer was that it was 4oc outside and the pub was about the same temperature. It won't stop me coming back though.
Lots of varied choice of cocktails. One jar would be ample for two to share, unless you have different tastes! 😁. Toilets on same level. Also downstairs seating. Friendly service.
My nightclub days are firmly a memory from the early 1980's, Samson, Cromwells, Scamps etc. So as a 60+ being asked on a 'hen do' was somewhat a little daunting. However, we are meeting at a place called the Tipsy Jar so was happy to give it a go. I am happy to report that it was a pleasant experience and laughs along the way. It is not the most accessible establishment for those with mobility issues.
Really enjoyed our first visit here but our next one not so good. We waited to be seated while they cleaned a table for us which wasn't an issue. We were shown to our table downstairs and told someone would be down to take our order, after waiting about 15/20 mins the waitress arrived just to inform us that two large parties have just arrived and there's at least a 30 min wait for drinks. 30 minute wait for a glass of wine and a pint of lager, we decided to leave. Such a shame this time as its a really nice place. Hopefully better if we decide to try again.
Very mixed feelings about our visit here this weekend. The drinks themselves were delicious, I tried a few of my friends as well as my own and they were all stunning!! We were a large group of 20, and there was a problem with our booking. We were given a table downstairs which we made work and were grateful to the staff who made it happen. We were also given a complimentary shot and small cocktail for the bride to be to compensate for the inconvenience. We did however have to wait a long time to be served. Half the table had drinks within the first 30mins, but some of us were waiting over an hour before our drinks arrived. We then had to drink up quickly before moving on as we had a dinner table booked elsewhere. It was a shame as the drinks were lovely!
Bar has a very cute atmosphere and the cocktails are okay if overpriced for what you get. Place was let down for me by very slow service (30min wait for cocktails and was asked if we wanted to order another drink despite not yet reviving our first order) although it is worth noting the servers were extremely friendly and polite.
I’ve been to Tipsy Jar a few times before and have always had a really positive experience, which is why I decided to go there to celebrate my 20th birthday. I emailed ahead to pre-book a table for a group of us and even followed up with a phone call. When we arrived at the date and time I’d booked for, I was told there was no record of my booking. I didn’t really receive much of an apology, which was disappointing — especially since I’d made every effort to book properly for a big table. Thankfully we only had to wait about 10 minutes for the staff to find a table. We were seated downstairs, and I noticed that service was quite slow compared to when I’ve sat upstairs on previous visits. I appreciate you guys were busy, but it definitely felt like we were forgotten about at times. Overall, after such a great experience before, this visit was somewhat disappointing and I won’t be rushing back
We were a party of 9 and ordered drinks separately and at different times so order wasn't to big. Waited 20 minutes for a pint. Slow service. Asked if my pint was coming and got a very Kurt reply. Staff need to be more friendly. Nicely decorated and cocktails are tasty. Be prepared to wait.
Drinks were good. Zero atmosphere. Poor service. We walked in and were sat downstairs at put at the end of someone else’s table. It smelt damp. One of the waitresses brought drinks for the table and spilt some of them over the table and one customer. Half a job cleaning up left the floor covered still. Later as we left we heard her laughing about it to the doorman. Not 100 percent why that place needs door staff but I assume it’s
Waited 20 minutes to be told the drinks we ordered weren’t available, then asked about a couple of other drinks but the staff didn’t know what they were ! Probably won’t be returning anytime soon, lovely setting as a positive. And friendly staff. A shame as wanted a couple of drinks in a cool bsr, but moved on ..
As we arrived the doorman was not very friendly just barked have you booked? Was off putting from the start. Went in was told we could not have any cocktails with cream as run out of cream ( they were not allowed to go to the shop a few doors down we were told by staff) our first drinks were lovely. The second was was dreadful which was an espresso martini very light in colour and not much white on top ( after the staff did it at the table ) most people left after one drink and a table of 8 got up and walked out before buying a drink. Closes at 12pm but staff putting chairs on top of tables whilst we were still there at 11.35pm. Would not go again . Shame
My review is based purely on my experience as a wheelchair user. The bar itself is lovely and the drinks menu is fab, great value and very tasty cocktails. Sadly, like many places in the UK, this venue is not very accessible for wheelchair users or anyone with mobility difficulties. There's a HUGE step at the entrance, with no way of alerting the staff that youre even there unless you're with an able bodied person who can go in to ask for a ramp. Not that there's a ramp anywhere to be seen, so my options were limited! A member of staff did suggest that they lift me in, but a)I'm pretty sure your staff aren't qualified in moving and handling, and not insured to manually haul people in, and b) its really quite scary to have to trust people to lift me up in the air, especially when they don't know how tippy my chair is and how to hold it properly - I'm not as light as I look! Its generally not great having to be manhandled just to have a few drinks with friends, something that only disabled people really have experience of. There is an accessible toilet though, which seems a bit strange when it's so difficult for disabled people to get in, but i guess buildings regs said you have to have it. There's also a pretty dangerous trip hazard on the slightly raised table area right in front of the door/bar - nothing to alert people there's actually a 'lip' to be aware of. I saw at least 2 people trip on this. Such a shame that so many lovely places like this are so difficult to navigate when you can't walk. Much more needs to be done about this!
