Place a to go order it took 30 minutes for 6 tacos. But it was good. Now I call to place a order before I get there. Great food, salsas yummy..!

By far the best Mexican food in Marin. I have been eating Mexican food in Marin for 20 years and have been all over California and this one restaurant has more integrity and attention to quality food than any other place I have been. there are no steam tables of over cooked meat and beans, everything is cooked to order. The salsas are fresh and stellar. Other reviewer‘s in this thread clearly are basing their review off single experiences. I have come back to this restaurant to try new items every other week and it never disappoints. Yes one of the cashiers is a salty older Hispanic women that barely speaks English and can be direct, but I wouldn’t want it any other way. They mean business at La Carreta. Business of good eats.

We had our mother's day celebration here. This is a neighborhood gem that no one knows about because it is located in a square that ran its course. Love the tacos chicharrones. My husband enjoyed his burrito. Our aupair had a milenesa that looked and tasted soooo good. We spent $130 for 6 people which might be a bit on the higher side but the quality of meat is worth the price. They also provided unlimited nachos and the sauces were delicious. Customer service was great. The ladies who served us gave us 100% attention even though we have 3 little children with us. I love this place and this will be my new go-to for Mexican food.

at first was not expecting much. They didn't understand what I wanted (new cashier) Order wasn't sent back to the kitchen, (new cashier) so I was late and irritated. Also, the special chicken salad and a drink set me back $16. (for lunch!). But boy do they deliver. Fresh, tasty and I am definitely a fan!

The staff looks family-like and they are nice. The taqueria food is just another meal from just another taqueria.

One of the best super burritos in Novato. However the front counter girls that work there are hella rude and think they boujee. Seriously lol like why always such attitude with customers?

Good solid Mexican food. Did the take out and was easy. The chicken burrito was good, street tacos on par. A great staple for take out.

I ordered the menudo this morning and it was honestly delicious - 4.5 star good. However it came out to $27 with tax (I ordered over the phone and didn't think to ask the price). I know the cost of everything has increased in recent years but I was surprised at the total. Because of how good the soup was I would want to order it more often but at that price probably not.

Food way to expensive and small portions with no flavor

Ordered a simple super veggie burrito with both black and refried beans and rice. Repeated my order 3-4 times. Ended up with only black beans and rice ..bummer. they order taker didn't understand what a wheat tortilla was. Burrito was fairly bland ..but nothing horrible.

We’ll! We come from San Francisco! Novato needs more Mexican Restaurants! My guy ordered a Ceviche Camarón, he comment is like a shrimp soup! Also be aware with one of Owner! Last time I orden a Beer and she ask me if I need something else including she will call Police just if I’m driving! Is something is not her Business! I really won’t recommend that place!

$20 burrito says it all. The food is okay but for the price! Rent must be hella high. $10 for a bean and cheese is just wild.

Okay food but beware hidden fees such as extra charge for credit card no matter the amount. I only noticed because my bank statement showed higher amounts than my receipts. Sneaky!

Food was over price not good at all got a torta de Mila nesa and it looked like a regular torta first and last time ever going to this place

They tack on extra charges to your order without telling you. It’s not a small amount either: ordering a $10 burrito came out to $16 and a meal split between 3 went from $54 after tax to $72 before tip mysteriously. I suppose maybe this is charging for the chips and salsa that they provide when you sit down?! Maybe they don’t do this to their regulars, but super shady for a restaurant considering the number of alternatives available in Novato.

I came in to get some horchatas and tacos for my kids on my way out of town. The lady was rude and wouldnt let my daughter use the restroom until i paid for my drinks. Then didnt give me my change almost 2 dollars. No receipt or have a nice day. Then started helping the people behind me. My kids were expecting food but i took them to another restaurant. I tried to look for her name no name tag. So i wont bring my family back here again.

Terrible experience. Ordered a carnitas chimichanga but they delivered a cold soggy wet burrito covered in green sauce. The bag was stapled shut with a tag with my name on it but when I called the manager Kevin continued to argue with me that there was no way he sent me the wrong order. Won't order from there again and won't reccomend to my hotel guests either

I had been to this place before and there was good service. Now there is a waitress who charges more than what an order costs and the pork rinds are sour.

Well what I can tell you is this ; the food is not great , overpriced and trying to charge you for extra items, they won't replace the food either overcooked or undercooked. Recomend next door good burgers!!!!!

1st time i walked in decided to try the place was empty gitl seemed unhappy or rude and once i saw the prices 17.99 for a a plate of huevos ranchers? 16.99 for a super burrito without counting tax and chips and salsa! I walked right out and looked up reviews curiously and sure enough terrible reviews overall.They lost my buisness before they ever earned it

$40 for 2 regular burritos and 2 cokes , The burritos were disgusting , Dry and no flavor . The young girl that took my order was less than pleasant. Way over priced for the worst burrito I’ve ever had . They make 7-11 burritos look like a a 5 star Reasturant!!! NEVER AGAIN .

I would’ve never paid for that but because of medical reasons of staying in the car my daughter went and not knowing that that was a rip off. I will never go back there again with overpriced. Yesterday I visited this place and ordered two burritos. While I was ordering, the woman behind the counter asked me “what are you going to drink?” instead of asking if I actually wanted a drink. I ended up ordering two small Cokes. However, when I checked the receipt, I discovered that she had charged me for three medium-sized Cokes instead, which are larger and more expensive than the regular small ones. The total for those drinks alone came out to $16, which is completely unreasonable. I also noticed that they added extra charges for sour cream, even though I specifically told her no sour cream on either burrito. What made the situation even more suspicious is that she did not intend to give me the receipt. I had to specifically ask for it. After seeing the receipt, it became clear that the order had been entered incorrectly. In the end, I paid $54 for two burritos and two Cokes to go, which is completely irrational and unacceptable for such a simple order. At this point, it is hard not to believe that this was done intentionally. This is not about $5 or $10 — it’s about basic honesty and fair treatment of customers. I am sharing this experience so other people pay close attention to what they are being charged. I still have the receipt as proof

Way over priced! The food isnt even that good seriously about 6/10.. its edible.. Portions are tiny!! Overall totally not worth it. Mi pueblo and Carmens La haceinda are 100% better and worth the money.. also there salsa is better at those places. This place sucks
