Whenever I'm in the area this is an absolute must go to restaurant for me. Everything is good, but the garlic fries are the best I've ever ever ever ever ever tasted. They are not soggy like most other garlic fries. They say crispy and they are absolutely flavorful. I definitely recommend them. I Really like ginger beer So that combination is a good one for me.
We just had a fabulous lunch at Burma Bites on Telegraph Avenue in Oakland. The Rainbow Salad was phenomenal! We also ordered the fried string beans that were also perfectly prepared crisp and seasoned.
I love the coconut rice with mint chicken, it's a combination of sweet rice with spicy chicken that is awesome.

Thank you for filling portions and great gluten free fried chicken. Burma bites has become one of my favorite take out places during this pandemic. As a busy artist, I love being able to order and get my food so quickly. Everything I’ve had I really like. Yesterday I got mint chicken and it was really great but definitely didn’t taste like it had mint. I added my own fresh mint from my garden and it was perfect. Good job Burma Bites. Thanks for being here
We tried Burma Bites tonight for the first time and both loved our meals!! I had the Burma bowl with coconut rice and mango tofu which was SO DELICIOUS, and my husband got basil chicken which he loved as well. And the steak fries!!! I have been eating vegetarian and was also so happy to see the many tofu options on the menu. Looking forward to another burma bowl in my future!
I love Burma Superstar but their takeout has always left something to be desired. Burma Bites is some of the best food I’ve ever had. That’s saying a lot as a foodie in Oakland. So many great choices. Highly recommended.
Great for fast lunch delivery! Portions are great for the price.

Had the Burmese chicken and eggs fried rice with Burmese milk Tea. The service was fast and good. The staff is very friendly and professional. I didn't like the fried rice much, but I realized half way through eating it that the rice was brown rice. So it's my fault for not reading it. The Thai was really good though. I'll come back again and try a different dish next time. Still I ate it all, overall good vibes. Definitely recommend 😋

Compared to Burma Superstar, Bites is not as consistently good I'm afraid. One of my favorite is the fiery tofu, but I just received a burnt one. The sauce didn't have its usual sweetness either 😔 which I'm fond of, instead it was burnt and overly salty. There must have been a change in the kitchen staff, or a mixed up? Sending y'all good vibes! I hope all is well because we love Burma's recipes but this was an unfortunate mishap. But it's not a cheap meal either ... anyways I'm leaving a note here because I couldn't find other ways to provide feedback, I didn't see a way on the website.
This was a hype but also kinda a good bite. It has potential to be dope. Out of 5 this was a strong 3 I like how friendly the staff is. I came in thinking I was going to get Indian food but it was more like a Asian/Indian fusion, the concept is really dope but, the food was mid the Thai tea had too much dairy the fries were overpriced and not seasoned the portions were good.. Parking is a bit tricky and its no where to dine in.

Garlic fries are amazing. Fiery tofu was good too. Garlic noodles were soggy and gross, like overcooked spaghetti. Weird that they are completely different from Superstar's recipe even though they are supposedly the same brand/owners. Fried rice was pretty boring and bland, might as well just get a side of plain rice for 1/4 of the price.
I've been going to Burma since it was one place on Clement St in SF. I was so happy to find them in Oakland when I moved over 4 years ago but I have to say the quality has been in decline over the last couple years. It feels like they are more focused on production than quality. Burma Bites was just a step further in that direction... I was expecting single serve portions and pricing but what I got was tough $18 beef curry and a side of pricey coconut rice that was over portioned and not at all satisfying. I also wanted the Tea Leaf salad but it was sold out and the alternative was like another $18 so I skipped it.
It’s only a takeout place. Since Burma superstar was delicious. We ordered items from here thinking of the same quality. We had Samosa, which was too oily but tasted good. Then we ordered spicy tofu which was terrible and then we ordered some chicken sandwich. It was disgusting. I still give a three star because probably we ordered the wrong items here. I’m going to try it one more time different items and see where it goes.
Not a fan of the new menu. Too sandwich and bread heavy. I used to order a lot because it was gluten friendly but can’t have any wraps / sandwiches. Also they used to have the most stellar wings with a sticky sweet sauce. Please at least bring the wings back. 🙏

Decent food, although the jasmine rice was kinda yucky (mushy; how can you mess up rice!), and somewhat overpriced. Atrocious service/communication, maybe the counter-person was new?
Our three dishes completely lacked flavor; food tasted nothing like what we’ve come to expect from the flagship restaurant. The coconut rice was the most flavorful and comparable Burma Superstar item. Disappointed and unlikely to return; not worth the “convenience.”
Beware if you have celiac disease. Dishes labeled gluten free are not fried in a dedicated fryer so there is cross contamination and I got very sick from eating here. The food was delicious, but not suitable if you can’t have gluten.

Wow. We got coconut chicken curry and it was disgusting. Horrible. Had a faint scent of curry but mostly we both recoiled at the horrible smell of greasy bird swimming in brownish/yellow oil. We got as far as adding rice to a bowl and spooning some malodorous liquid onto it before both of us were too grossed out by the smell to continue. One of us did taste and thank god it wasn’t me. I wouldn’t feed this to my dog. I’m serious. Will never ever order from here again. We also ordered a burrito which was average and some roti with sauce which was pretty good but came in this huge container with about 4 little pieces of bread in it. What a joke.

Oily and tasteless. Extremely overpriced. Mostly rice and the tiniest sandwich I've ever seen. Where did they even get a roll of bread that narrow? It's a travesty to associate this dog food with Burmese cuisine.
They changed their menu, but haven’t changed the menu you order off of for DoorDash. So you place an order for one thing, and they just assign you the closest menu item…which may not be close at all. There’s no way to change the order. I even went into the store and they refused to help, because the order had already gone through. The whole situation seems poorly thought through. Really disappointed.

Came in hearing that Burma Superstar was super popular in the area so wanted to try it myself. I got the Superstar fries because it was the cheapest thing on the menu and the description sounded pretty delicious, describing it as a spicy, savoury, umami bomb with a condiment called balachaung. Once I started eating though, it tasted horrendous. I tossed most of it. I later learned after looking online that balachaung is made with shrimp, and I do not eat seafood. It would have been greatly helpful if the description explained what balachaung was, especially for people with allergies.
