The BEST Habesha food hands down. The ambiance is not romantic or artsy but the chef is top notch! No other Ethiopian or Eritrean restaurants have such a high ranking chef & all the cooks are African. The place is also very clean. Yerusalem is my favorite server & the owners are super kind. Authentic & high quality food.

This Ethiopian/Eritrean cuisine restaurant is by far the best that I’ve experienced in the entire San Franciso Bay Area! The owner, Zimam, and her staff are incredibly hospititable and exemplify courteous values with all of their customers. The food (especially the Veggie Combo) is incredible and I highly recommend it. The atmosphere has great incense and is great for both solo and social eating with friends.

I recently visited Eritrea Cafe, and I had a fantastic experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a cozy, authentic feel that made me feel right at home. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, offering great recommendations and making sure we were comfortable throughout our meal. The food was absolutely delicious! I tried calling "Everything" has Tibsi, Zilzil and so on , and they were full of flavor and perfectly cooked, really stood out. I also loved the variety of options available on the menu, from traditional Eritrean dishes to more modern takes on the cuisine. The portions were generous, and everything was reasonably priced. Overall, my experience at Eritrea Cafe was outstanding, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Eritrean food and excellent service. I will definitely be coming back!

Excellent intro to Eritrean food with the house special platters - got the veggie combo, meat combo, tibsi and they were plenty for 4. Interesting flavors, great fresh peppers 🌶 hot! The spices are gold for any spicy food lover.

Enter midday to the fragrance of frankincense and roast coffee, for what is truly an authentic East African experience. For those in love with the fermented tanginess of injera, try the Quanta Firfir — dried beef mixed in spicy sauce and injera. While indeed this dish calls for double carb (injera wrapped in injera) definitely worth visiting when doing a carbo load before a long cardio. Tibsi, beef cooked both spicy and saucy — amazing. One dish can easily feed 2 people. Come with friends or expect to pack home some yummy leftovers.

The Lamb alicha, my current favorite, has a lot of warming spices that meld well, and every other bite a new one surfaces: green cardamom, later ginger, then a chili powder. Don’t skip the flax seed milkshake, which is toasty, rich, and flavored with honey. Service is friendly and quick. My favorite!

The Beef Ziggni was spicy, but nuanced, and the tangy injera served to compliment it perfect. Solid portion for the price as well. Come in here, you won’t regret it! The honey wine was an added bonus as well.

God I love this place. My favorite is to get the kitfo special and vegetarian combo, which you definitely need 3 hungry people to finish it all, but you know what? The leftovers are spectacular heated up in a cast iron pan the next day. Service is super nice and it’s a lovely atmosphere!
